Hi dears, how are you doing?
I know that it has been a long time since I updated this fic but, like some of you will already know, I have been really busy during the last couple of weeks and I did not have some much free time.
But don't worry, I am back again and I am gonna finish all my fics so don't worry =)

Chapter 17
Gabby was so concentrating on cooking breakfast that she did not hear the step sounds that were coming from the hallway. She had woken up early in the morning because of the dizziness and since she could not fall asleep anymore, she decided to prepare something nice for Matt because it was gonna be his first day back to fifty-one. He did not want to admit it but, he was nervous about it.
Suddenly, she felt how someone encircled her waist and planting a tender kiss on her cheek. "I woke up and you were not in bed" Matt whispered seductively in her ear, held her tighter to him and breathed in the smell of her shower gel.
"The baby woke me up" she said as she turned off the stove "Besides, I wanted to cook breakfast for you"
"I could have done it for you and brought it to bed" he said turning her around to facing her
"It doesn't matter. You will have time to do it in the future when I can barely move of the bed because of all the weight that I am going to gain" and she let out a small yawn "sorry baby, I am tired"
"Didn't you sleep at all last night?" he asked concerned about her health.
"not really, your baby keeps me up most of the night" she said and gave him a tired smile.
"So, now it's only mine, eh?" he asked funny
"Yeah. After all, it is your fault" she joked placing one of her fingers on his bare chest.
"So, it is my fault, eh?" he said seductively approaching his lips to hers "I think you are wrong" and his lips met hers in short but passionate kiss "You are so gorgeous that I couldn't resist to make love to you" and he lowered his lips to her neck. He continued planting small kisses there and she started to moan.
"Matt" she said trying to put some space between them after a couple of seconds "we can't baby. We are gonna be late" she reminded him
"Alright, I guess that we can continue having this conversation about who is guilty of the little one when I come back home after shift" He laughed and planted one last and sweet kiss on her forehead. Before she could move of her position, he started to rub the bump of her stomach above the material of her shirt softly "Hey little one, you have to behave in there and so that your mommy can get some rest today. Will you do that for me?"
She laughed and rested her hands of top of his. She loved when he talked to the baby. Then, he lifted her shirt and kneeled in front of her and kissed her belly bump.
"Are you ready to go back?" she said brushing his short hair
"Yeah, I feel great" he stretched his muscles and grabbed the two plates with their breakfasts putting on the table "and you? I mean are you going to come with me so you can talk with Boden about your transfer to ambo?"
"Yeah, I should speak with him about my candidacy. I already told him that I have to go back to ambo but, I think that we should tell him what is going on. He deserves to know the truth. He is our chief"
"Yeah. Sure" he took a bit of his breakfast "By the way, when is your next appointment?" he said after noticing that with all the happiness that the unexpected news had produced on him, he had forgotten to ask her about it.
"Next week. My OBGYN wants to make an ultrasound. Do you want to come?"
"Of course. It is my baby and I am gonna be at all your appointments" he said smiling and reached over the table to hold her hand.

One hour later, Matt and Gabby arrived to firehouse fifty-one. They wanted to speak with Chief Boden about what had happened the last couple of weeks and apologize for their behavior. They had let their relationship interfere with their jobs.
It was really early and Boden had not arrived yet meaning that will have to wait for him so, they decided to take a sit on the couch that was outside of his office.
While they were waiting Gabby was bouncing her leg up and down and Matt was focused on his thoughts and how much his life had changed in the last couple of days and how it will change when the baby arrives. He would have to change the Friday nights with the guys for a Friday night at home with Gabby watching how their little baby would fall asleep in its crib or just finishing getting the house ready for the arrival of the newborn. It was gonna be hard having a baby in their lives, a lot of things were going to change but, he was sure that it would be worth it from the moment that he would see its little face and hold him or her in his arms.
"How are you feeling?" Matt asked resting his hand of her thigh after noticing her nervousness.
"Nervous" she took a deep breath "and you?"
"Everything is gonna be okay, baby" he said as he held her hands "I am sure that he is not gonna be angry with you because of what happened"
"Matt, I walked out without saying a word of what was happening. An adult does not do that" she said "I left the firehouse without giving him an explanation of what was going on. I have not seen him in the last couple of weeks"
"I did it too" he said
"You were sick in the hospital. It is not the same"
"Gabby, nothing of this would have happened if I didn't let our relationship get in the way of our jobs. So, it is my fault as well. Besides, I am the truck Lieutenant; I should leave everything behind me as soon as I cross the double door of the firehouse"
"hey, it is not only your fault, alright?" she said after hearing how he was blaming himself of everything that had happened
"Gabby, I am a Lieutenant. I have to be focusing on the job and nothing else"
"Casey, Dawson" Boden said in front of them, they didn't know it but, he had heard part of their conversation "what are you doing here? Shift start at eight o´clock" he said after checking his watch.
"Chief" both of them said getting up of the couch "we want to talk with you before shift starts"
Boden opened the door of his office and invited them to come inside "How can I help you?" and he made them a sign to them for taking a seat
"First of all, how are Donna and little Terrance doing?" Gabby asked
"Both of them are fine, but I have the feeling that you are not here to talk about my family" he crossed his arms in front of his chest "so what do you want to talk about?"
"Yeah" Matt started "Well, we came to apologize for our behavior in the last couple of shifts. What happened between us was completely unprofessional"
"We let our relationship get in the way of our jobs. We are really sorry, chief"
"It will not happen never again, chief" Matt said. For a moment he couldn't shake the feeling of being teenager that had done something wrong and had to go to see the principal of high school.
"I guess you two worked out your differences"
"Yeah, we did" Gabby said smiling
Boden looked at them closely and after a couple of seconds of silence that he used to think about what they had said, he asked "Do you still want to be transferred to another firehouse?" He looked to Casey and later to Dawson
"Not anymore, if it is possible of course" he said smiling shyly.
"It is possible since, and I don't know how, this paper got lost in my desk and I have found it this morning" Chief Boden said taking the pink transfer sheet that Matt gave him two weeks ago "So, the question now is" he said looking to Casey "Do you want to continue working in this firehouse? Do you want to continue being the Lieutenant of the truck 81?"
"Yes, I do" Matt said without thinking it twice
"In that case-" he gave him the paper and without wasting time Matt ripped it into small pieces "Welcome back, Lieutenant" and he offered him a hand shakes.
"Thank you, chief" he said relieved of being able to stay at fifty-one
"And about you" he said looking to Gabby "I cannot understand why you want transfer back to the ambo. You are one of the best candidates that I've seen in the last couple of years and you are in the middle of your candidacy year. So, please tell me what make you change your mind? It is because of what happened between you two?"
"Yeah . There is something that we should tell you, chief" she said
"It is linked with the reason of why you are going to ambo?"
"Yeah. We have not said anything to anybody yet. We want to keep it for us for a while" she looked to Matt and gave him a tender smile "come on, I know you are dying to tell him"
"Are you sure?" he asked with a big smile on his face
"Of course. Go ahead"
He squeezed her hand and looked to their chief who was looking them anxious of knowing what they have to tell him "Gabby-" Matt started and she squeezed his hand softly "We- we- we are pregnant"
Boden was shocked and had to take a second to pull himself together after the unexpected new "Pregnant?" he asked thinking that maybe he had not heard them right"
"Yeah" Gabby said smiling
"Congratulations" he said and walked to them for hugging them "I am really happy of the two of you"
"Thanks you chief" Gabby said after hugging her
"Matt" and he hugged the blonde lieutenant too "It looks like little Terrance is going to have a friend with who he can play in the future" he joked "In that case, of course, you can go back to ambo the next shift. I will call the academy and explain them your situation and see if you can end your candidacy later. And, don't worry I will not tell anyone you secret"
"Thanks chief"
"We appreciate what you have done for us" Matt said and Boden patted him on his shoulder
After that the couple walked out of Boden's office with a big smile on their faces and holding their hands.
"Can I now say "I told you so"?" Matt joked and Gabby punched him softly on his forearms "Everything was gonna be fine" he said
"yeah, you were right. For a moment I was scared that he did not want anyone of us to stay at fifty-one"
"Well" Matt said after looking at his watch and seeing that most of his men were arriving to the firehouse "I should get ready for my shift"
"Go ahead. I need to speak with Boden about something" Gabby said nervous rolling her eyes.
"About what?" he asked with curiosity
"I forgot to tell him something important" he was going to ask her about it but she kissed his lips and told him that she would tell him later before going back into Boden's office.
"Alright, see you at home" and he kissed her one more time before going to the locker room to get ready for his shift.
"Chief" Gabby said opening the office door
"Did you forget something Dawson?" she nodded and he invited her in.
Before Gabby could say anything, Severide entered in the office to speaking with Boden. "Dawson" he said surprised to see her again "Where were you? Casey was worried sick about you. Does he know that you are here?"
"It is a long story" she said not wanting to give away any details
"Do you want something, Severide?"
"No. I can wait outside until you are done with Dawson" He said and he was going to walk out of the office when Gabby's voice stopped him
"No, you can hear what I have to tell you, chief"
"alright" and Severide took a seat on one of the chairs not knowing what it could be
"What I am going to tell you can't reach Matt" Boden nodded giving her his word that he will not tell anything to his Lieutenant and Severide did it too.
"After everything that has been happening between Matt and I in the last couple of months, our relationship is not the same that used to be in the past"
"So you two are together again?" Severide asked interrupting her
"Yeah"
"Good" he said glad of his friends "you two finally realized that you are made for each other"
"Yeah but, like I said it is not the same, I think that he is still afraid that I change my mind or whatever. So, to showing him that this is real and that I want to spend the rest of my life with him, I am planning something special and, I need your help as well as the help of the rest of the guys"
"What is in your head, Dawson?" Severide asked not understanding what her point was "how can we help you?"
"I am planning marry him in two days" she said
"What?" Severide said completely shocked "Two days?"
"Yeah and I need your help because he has no idea about any of this"
"Oh my God" Boden said
"You cannot plan a wedding in two days, Dawson" Severide said getting up of his chair
"That is why I need your help. I have already talked with Chaplain Orlovsky, he is going to marry us but, the he can only do it in two days. If not we will have to wait a lot of time"
"Why not one in two months?"
"It is not possible" it was not that she was ashamed of being pregnant but, she did not want to walk to the altar having a big baby belly.
"Alright" Boden said "I am in" knowing that both of them had suffered a lot in the past, especially Casey with everything that happened with Hallie so, they deserved to have a wedding like the one that everyone of the firehouse organized for him and Donna.
"What about you Severide?" she really wanted him to help her too since he was Matt's best friend and it would mean a lot to him
"Are you kidding me? Of course that I am in, it is gonna be a hell to get everything ready but, it would be worth, right?"
"Yeah" Gabby said smiling
"Don't worry I will bring to the church without him suspecting anything"
"I would like for him to wear his dress uniform; he looks really handsome in it"
"Alright, stop right there" Severide said lifting his hands "I don't need to know any dirty details" he said laughing
"I will speak with Hermann and the guys to have Molly's ready"
"Yeah. I wanted to have a small celebration there only for the closer family"

A couple of hours later, Gabby was sitting in the living room of her parent's house talking with her mother. Severide had promised her that he will find away to get Matt to the church wearing his dress uniform without him suspect something. Boden had offered to help Herrmann and Otis to get Molly's ready to have a small celebration there after the ceremony. She was sure that it was not going to be really big but, she did not care about it, all that she wanted to do was to get married to him and celebrate it with their families.
"Here you go, honey" her mother said handing her a cup of hot chocolate "since when do you drink hot chocolate instead of coffee?" she asked suspiciously since she could not remember the last time that she saw her daughter drinking hot chocolate.
"Since-" Gabby tried to find an answer "the coffee doesn't let me sleep later" she knew that it was a poor excuse but, she didn't want to tell her that she was pregnant. That was something that she and Matt should do together
"if you say so. Anyway, your friends are going to help you, right?"
"yeah, I just need to get the church ready, the dress and invite the people to the ceremony" she said with a big smile on her face.
"Gabby, don't you think you are rushing things between you and Matt?" her mother said
"mom-"
"no, let me finish. Maybe he is not ready to get married to you. What do you think that he is going to think when he shows up in the church and you tell him that you are going to get marry in less than a hour. Don't you think that maybe he could get cold feet?"
"Trust me, he is more than ready to get married. The only reason why we haven't got married yet is because I started working as a candidate on his truck and we could not. But now we can. So, I am not gonna lose more time thinking about it"
"Alright" it was not that she didn't approve the wedding; she need to be sure that she was doing what she wanted "I just wanted to be sure that you are hundred per cent sure about it. Marriage is a big step in a relationship" Gabby nodded understanding her worries "Anyway, do you want to see the dress?"
"Is it finished? She said surprised and before her mother could say anything, she got up from the couch and ran to her old bedroom.
"So, what do you think? Do you like it?" Gabby's eyes were filled with tears and could not pronounce any words as she was looking atit "Baby" her mother rubbed her forearms softly "is everything alright?"
"Mom, it is great. I don't have words to express how I am feeling right now-"
"No words are needed; your face tells me everything. You are gonna be gorgeous in two days and Matt will not be able to keep his eyes from of you"
