Two Days After
"The following transcript is part of a phone call between 911 operator Zack Charles and a female student present during the shooting at Rosewood High School on Wednesday, the 12th, when two students walked into their school with loaded firearms and carried out a deadly rampage that left fifteen students, and two teachers, dead. The shooters surrendered willingly and are now in police custody. Due to the ages of both the shooters as well as the caller, we can not release any names. This recording, along with dozens of others, has been officially released by the Rosewood Police Department and is highly unsettling.
Please be advised." – reporter, Brenda Kane, News 9
A beep is heard
"911, what is your emergency?"
"P-please help. I-I've been shot. Oh, my God. They're shooting! The blood. They're shooting people!"
"You were shot? Ma'am, where are you? Do you know who shot you? Who is shooting people?"
Crying on the other end; shots sound in the background, followed by screams
"I-it hurts so much.."
"Honey, I need your name. Where are you?"
Loud, heavy sobs
"Oh, God. They're coming back."
More shots ring out and the caller screams, laughter is heard in the background, with two separate female voices.
"Damn. You can see his brains." – female perpetrator #1
"Wicked." – female perpetrator #2
"Miss? Miss, are you okay? I need your location…"
"S-school. I'm at Rosewood High School."
"Do you know who the shooters are?"
a choked sob, distinct gunshots ring out
"S-she's my friend..my friend. Why is she doing this?"
a loud hiss of pain; caller is becoming distraught
"M-my name is bleep"
"Okay, good. That's real good. There are already police present on the scene. You're going to be okay. Just stay on the line with me. Can you tell me the names of the shooters?"
a long stretch of silence
"I –I can't. She's my friend…"
