A/N: Okay, so this basically takes place at the end of Chapter 14 in The Blood's Desire when Christine goes into Erik's apartment after that momentous first kiss. If you forgot what happened... reread chapter 13 for Erik's reaction. It's not very long, but its closure for that particular event. Don't forget to review!

A/A/N: I am quite aware that it has been over four years since I last updated. Honestly, I wrote this chapter and then moved on to another fandom because the Muse wanted to write for that one right away. I never forgot about this story. It was always lurking in the back of my mind and I knew one day I would return. After all, I have stated I do not leave a story unfinished, even if it takes me years… I will finish the story. Since it has been so long, I only intend to stop at chapter 10 and wrap this up. While I originally wanted to do more to expand the original The Blood's Desire and include scenes that were left out or continue the story… it did not go according to plan. However, I am keeping my promise and this story will be completed.

Synopsis—After their first kiss, Erik's reaction frightened Christine. Now, she is about to enter his apartment to talk to him about what happened. This is the missing conversation.

Deleted Scene Chapter 14

Aftermath of a First Kiss

Recap…

Taking a deep breath, she raised her fist to knock on the door when it suddenly opened. Standing in the doorway was Erik… his tall frame blocking the entrance. They stared at each other until Christine broke the trance and said:

"Can I come in?"

He seemed to think about it and she was afraid he was going to tell her to go home when he took a side step out of her way. She couldn't begin to describe how happy that made her as she stepped into the apartment.

Upon entering, Christine made her way over to the piano and gently skimmed her fingers across the sleek surface. She glanced up and frowned… noticing what looked like grooves on top.

Erik already had the door closed and cleared his throat… interrupting her from pondering the odd markings any further. Christine looked up and then immediately felt her cheeks flush with embarrassment. How was she going to bring this up? After all, it had been only a kiss…

An amazing, wonderful, sensual kiss…

Shaking her head, Christine decided to go ahead and seize the bull by its horns.

"Erik… about the other night."

"Yes," he said, his eyes piercing right into her. "Christine, I—"

"I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable," she rushed out, wanting to get the blow over and done with. "I shouldn't have done that. It's just… I acted impulsively and I thought that maybe you might have felt the same thing for me as I do for you and with the heat of the moment and the music… I wasn't thinking. Forgive me."

Now, he stared at her with bewilderment. "Forgive you?"

"Yes," she repeated, her brow creased. "I mean, that was it wasn't it? I put you in an awkward position and I upset you…"

At this, Erik let out what sounded like a hiss and a chuckle. That was what she thought? That she somehow offended him with her forwardness? The laughter within his chest continued to build and he almost lost control at the thought if she only knew the perverse humor in this situation…

Yet, he swallowed it down as best as he could but not without letting one harsh laugh out.

"Forgive me, my dear," Erik spoke after a minute. "I do not mean to laugh at you. In fact, it should be me at your feet and asking for your forgiveness for my brash and frightful reaction. You didn't do anything wrong and please do not think you're at fault for my inability to control my temper."

"Then… what happened?" she asked, stepping towards him but Erik moved away. The memory of her soft lips pressed against his was too fresh and if he wasn't careful, then the demon would make another appearance. Of course, Christine didn't know that and he ignored the hurt expression on her face as he kept space between them.

"It was me," he said as if it had explained everything. "I…I'm not used to such affection and while you did catch me by surprise… please know that I wasn't offended or uncomfortable by it. I actually enjoyed it…"

"So what's the problem?" Christine continued as she stopped by the couch. "Do you like me Erik?"

"Of course I do," he replied in earnest. If you only knew how much and how much your scent is driving me closer to the brink of insanity.

Returning home from work, he could smell the exhilaration riding off her and while everything had been screaming at him in his best judgment to close the door on her… he couldn't. He had to do this. He could do this. The demon wasn't in control. He was. He had to hold onto that. Erik was in charge. Not the demon.

"If you like me, then why did you want me to leave you last night?" she whispered.

She had no idea what she was toying with, but Erik had to remain calm. "I cannot tell you… I cannot explain, except it's something very personal. Please understand Christine… I wasn't myself and the last thing I wanted to do was hurt you. You had to leave. There was no other option."

"Couldn't there have been a better way instead of scaring me with your outburst?"

Erik had the decency to look ashamed. "I regret my actions, but it cannot be helped. What's done was done. I cannot undo it."

"No you can't," Christine agreed. "But you don't regret it do you? The kiss I mean."

"No."

A look of relief washed over her. "Good because I don't either."

Yet, neither of them made a move. Christine wanted nothing more to leap over and into his arms… kissing the Hell out of him, but recalling his "outburst" kept her feet grounded. If someone was going to make the first move, then it wasn't going to be her.

Not again.

Christine already laid her cards out and it was up to Erik to decide what he was going to do next.

Of course, she was hoping it wouldn't take him long to decide.

"You're so beautiful," he started and stopped as his hand wearily ran through his hair. "I want to so much, but it's not the best time now."

"Oh." She nodded. Was she disappointed? A little. But did that mean there would eventually be more intimacy between the two later in the future? Yes. She was counting on it. "Your personal thing. I got it. Well, Erik, you know how I feel. It's not going to change anytime soon and I really would love to see how this goes between us."

"Christine," he sighed. "If you knew…"

"You can tell me," she said pleadingly.

He smiled at her heartfelt words and shook his head. "It's too soon. But one day… one day I will tell you and you will see what I mean. Until then…"

"Speak no more," she said. "I can wait. I'm a very patient person if you haven't noticed."

"I have."

"See?" Christine shrugged her shoulders. "It'll work out."

I hope it does, he thought. For I don't know what I would do if it doesn't. You're mine Christine. Sooner or later it will understand and then I won't have to fear that I might kill you.

Next- Snapshots. This is a recap starting with Raoul's point of view from the Epilogue in Meg's diary. From there, it will go to other characters to tie up the loose ends.
