Tori's check up went by with no issues as Dr. Hart, though Dr. Hart did mention that Tori needed to eat a bit more, now they were heading towards Dr. Hart's office to talk about the experiment. Following the older woman into her office Tori and Jade took their seats as Dr. Hart sat behind her desk and pulled out their files.

"Alright, so we're on to month two, so far nothing seems out of order biologically," she muttered, scribbling on her notepad, "but I would like to talk to the two of you and make sure that everything is going well outside of here."

"Sounds good," Tori replied with a smile.

"Do I have to be here for this part?" Jade questioned, slouching in her chair.

Dr. Hart smiled at the thespian and nodded her head.

"Like I said I would like to talk to the two of you, both as a couple and as individuals."

Jade huffed, making Tori smile as she takes a hold of her girlfriend's hand and gave it a reassuring squeeze. Squeezing her hand back Jade smirked at the half Latina and sat back up in her seat.

"So to start things off, how are things going at school?" Dr. Hart asked twirling her pen between her fingers.

"Everything's been good," Tori replied, Jade nodding in agreement.

"We're getting good grades, participating in whatever extra curricular activities we can…"

"I've heard your school had a Full Moon Jam recently," Dr. Hart said, noting the smirk Jade had, "did the two of you participate?"

"Yep and we totally rocked it," the goth girl told her, Tori chuckling.

"We sang the song 'Take a Hint' a personal favorite of ours," Tori explained, Megan looking up at her with interest.

"Oh? And why is that?"

"We consider it to be our song," Jade replied, "back when...well when I couldn't really stand Tori, we were taking part in a play put on by our teacher Sikowitz and we were cast as the husband and wife."

"And what happened?" Dr. Hart asked setting her pen down.

"Needless to say that we were not performing well," Jade continued, Tori rolling her eyes.

"That's an understatement."

"ANYWAY," Jade huffed, "Sikowitz decided that in order to get us to be the best we could that we had to go on a date."

"Everything was going...well, but after a while these two guys came up and started to hit on us," Tori jumped in shaking her head at the memory, "we tried to get rid of them but they would take the hint."

"And I'm guessing that's when the song came into play," Megan theorized with a smirk.

"Yep, we noticed that the karaoke was open, got up on stage and sang our song, and that seemed to get rid of them," The singer confirmed.

"Or so we thought," came the thespian's response.

"Oh?" Megan hummed, her interest peaked.

"Turns out they decided to show up to our play," Tori explained, Jade having a look of disgust.

Dr. Hart had to chuckle at that, the situation to humorous to not laugh at. Shaking her head she picked up get pen again and started to scribble down some notes about start she just learned. This was what she wanted, to get an inside look at the girls relationship before, during, and after the experiment. At least for the psychological aspect of it. Glancing up at the couple and noticed that Jade was sitting rather close to Tori, almost protectively so, and the way she was sitting gave the feeling that she would jump in to keep Tori safe.

'Interesting,' she noted, 'she always stays close to Tori since the first time I met them, but it seems with the presence of a child she's grown even more protective.'

"Well I hope they they haven't given you two anymore trouble," she offered, Jade snorting in response.

"Honestly we haven't seen then since then."

"That's good, shall we continue then?" Dr. Hart asked with a smile.

The two nodded and the questions for the couple continued, ranging from how the pregnancy has affected their relationships with family and friends to how it's affected their day to day lives. She was pleased, but not surprised, with that their lives hadn't changed too much, but of course with it only being her second month it wasn't out of the ordinary. What did surprise her was what had happened with one of their friends and made sure to write down questions to ask them when they had a one-on-one.

"But everything turned out fine in the end," Tori assured her, noticing her writing on her notepad.

"Well that's good to hear," Dr. Hart replied, "so I think I have everything that I need from our talk with you as a couple, let's move on to our one-on-one conversations, Jade do you mind?"

"Sure," Jade mumbled, standing up and kissing Tori on the cheek.

As she left the office Jade made her way towards where she knew that the hospital coffee shop would be. Making sure to check that she had some money on her she ordered a cup of coffee and something to snack on before sitting down and gathering her thoughts. She wasn't fond of people asking her personal questions, had told Dr. Hart that from the very beginning, but she also knew that this was necessary. Taking a long drink from her coffee, the thespian tried to slow down her racing heart so that she wasn't on the defensive when she went back to Dr. Hart's office. She didn't know why she was afraid though. It wasn't like Dr. Hart asked really personal questions, and Jade knew that if Dr. Hart felt that she was uncomfortable that she would stop, but even that didn't relax her. Closing her eyes she tried to recall what she had talked about with her step mother just the other day. Jade had talked to her mother about how nervous she was with the thought of becoming a parent, something that she assured her daughter that was natural for all first time parents. What made it easier was that she never judged Jade while they talked, merely smiled and chimed in whenever she thought she could help the young thespian.

"Jade I promise you that you'll be a great mother," Jasmine promised patting Jade's knee, "I've already seen just how loving you can be with Tori."

"But what if I'm horrible?" Jade asked frantically, "what if I become just like dad was before we actually were able to sit down and talk?"

Jasmine smiled and shaked her head, taking a hold of Jade's hand with both of her's and giving it a small squeeze.

"Jade sweetie, I've watched you grow from a gothic teenage girl with a taste for darker things them most people would enjoy to a young lady who is willing to start a family with someone that she once considered a threat," she told her, Jade not able to stop the small smirk spreading on her face, "Now I understand that you are worried about your future, how you're going to juggle college, a personal life, and a child all at same time…"

"That thought has crossed my mind a lot recently," Jade admitted.

"I also know that you've been contacting Dr. Hart via email whenever a question about the experiment or your and Tori's future daughter comes up," Mrs. West continued, "so I have a feeling that if you're willing to put that much effort into making sure everything goes right that your daughter will have two of the best mothers when she arrives."

"But what if I screw up?" Jade whispered, hanging her head, "even with all my questions I don't know if I'll be ready…"

"No one is ever ready to be a parent," Jasmine assured her, "do you think I was ready when I found out I was pregnant with your brother?"

This made Jade smile as she recalled just how frantic her stepmother had been when she was pregnant. Jasmine would run around even during the last trimester of her pregnancy trying to make sure that everything was ready and it wasn't until her father had sat her down and told her that everything would fine. Jasmine smiled and led her daughter through a breathing exercise to calm her down, Jade inhaling as she placed her hand on her chest and exhaling as she moved her hand out in front of her.

"You're going to be fine Jade, me, your father, Tori's parents, and your friends are all here to help the two of you."

"Jade...Jade…"

Jade blinked a couple of times, looking around for who was calling her name when she noticed Tori standing in front of her with a concern look.

"Oh, you're done?" Jade asked, Tori rolling her eyes in response.

"Yeah I finished just a couple of minutes ago," she replied, sitting down across from her girlfriend, "I came to get you but you were lost in thought."

"Yeah sorry about that," Jade apologized, the singer smiling and shaking her head.

"Don't be, but do you want to talk to me about what was on your mind?" she asked.

Jade snorted and stood up, kissing Tori on the forehead this time and heading off in the direction of Dr. Hart's office.

"I'll tell you after I finish up with Dr. Hart alright," Jade promised with her signature grin, "how about we go grab something to eat afterwards, get a late lunch."

"Sound great," Tori said with a nod, "I'll see you in a few minutes."

Jade made her way towards Dr. Hart's office, coffee in hand, and opened the door to see the older woman sitting behind her desk. Hearing the door open up, Dr. Hart looked up and saw the goth girl walking in and closing the door behind her.

"Ah Jade take a seat," Dr. Hart offered as Jade sat down, "so then I had a fun conversation with Tori, she's really looking forward to when the baby is born."

"Yeah that sounds like her," Jade said with a smirk.

"So what about you, how are you doing with the the pregnancy?"

"Fine, besides my relationship with Tori nothing has changed too much," Jade shrugged, "though I have gotten a bit closer to my step mom as well, she's been helping me alot with some of my doubts."

Dr. Hart nodded and scribbled down what Jade had told her, glancing over at another note that she had written down while she was talking to them as a couple.

"So are you excited about Tori's pregnancy?" she asked, making sure to keep her eyes trained on Jade.

"I'm excited, not as excited as Tori is but excited," Jade answered leaning back in her chair, "but in all honesty she was always the one who wanted to be a mother."

"Do you not want to be?"

"I do," Jade assured her, "guess that's one of the reasons I'm here."

"Only one of them?" Megan noted setting her pen down.

"I guess there's always been a tiny part of me that's wanted to be a mother, I don't completely hate the little brats after all," Jade explained tapping her finger on the armrest of her chair, "and the idea of a tiny me running around is amusing, but I'm also doing this for Tori's sake."

"Even though the two of you started dating after you started to experiment," Megan said crossing her legs and leaning back to relax.

"I know Tori better than my other friends, that whole 'keep your freinds close, and your enemies closer' thing, so when Tori came out as gay she was worried that she wouldn't be able to actually ever have a child of her own."

"Tori mentioned that, I reminded her of artificial assimilation and adoption but she said that…"

"That she would never overlook adoption but the whole artificial assimilation wouldn't be the same because it wouldn't be her and her significant other," Jade concluded, "yeah I knew that."

"I asked about that as well," Megan said looking down at her notes, "from what I gathered to her while it would be their child it wouldn't be…"

"THEIR child," Jade confirmed, "it wouldn't be a combination of them."

"Right, but enough about Tori let's get back to you," Dr. Hart suggested, Jade snorting in response.

"Sorry but I don't know what else you need to know," she said shaking her head, "I constantly email you so there shouldn't be much else you need."

"I'm aware, but I've been making sure to keep an eye on you while the two of you are here," Dr. Hart admitted sheepishly, "and I was mostly interested in the development I've noticed since Tori's pregnancy began."

"Oh?"

Dr. Hart nodded and pulled out a few sheets of paper that she had in the file with the two girls' names on it.

"When the two of you first came it you sat a comfortable distance from her, about the distance two friends would sit from each other," she said looking over the papers, "but just before the pregnancy you started to get closer to her."

"We started dating," Jade reminded her.

"Yes that was a factor I put in there, but you still sat with a small distance between you," Dr. Hart said, "it wasn't until after we confirmed the pregnancy that I noticed, in the past few weeks, that you started to sit protectively close to her."

"I'm protective of those I care about, just ask our friend Cat," Jade responded, not sure where this was going.

"Protective enough to look like you're ready to jump in and keep her safe in a matter of seconds?"

Jade tensed up and her eyes widened as Dr. Hart smiled and closed the files in front of her, putting them in her desk and taking off her lab coat to give her a more relaxed aura.

"Y-You've noticed that?"

"From what I've gathered from your emails is that the one thing you're afraid of is that you won't be a good parent for your and Tori's child," Megan said softly, "and I can understand that, being a parent can be the most stressful and the most rewarding experience of their life."

"You have children?" Jade asked, Megan smiling and turning around a picture for Jade to see.

Jade looked at the picture and saw that it was of a little girl that looked to be around the age of five, white skin with curly auburn hair and green eyes, her smile showing that she was missing one of her front teeth, wearing a small yellow sun dress.

"This is my adopted daughter Lillie," Dr. Hart explained, "me and my wife adopted her a few years ago when she was two, managed to complete the adoption on Christmas morning."

Jade nodded as Dr. Hart turned the picture back around.

"I...I am nervous about being a parent," Jade admitted, "and I know Tori is too even though she doesn't show it, and I've talked to my mother about this and she gave me some advice and reminded me that we're not alone."

"And she's right," Dr. Hart agreed with a smile, "and allow me to give you some advice as well, just be yourself Jade, and don't stress over it to the point that everything started to backfire on you."

"Right," Jade said, relaxing a bit.

"It's natural to be nervous Jade, I would like to believe that every first time parents are nervous when they have their first child," Megan said standing up and walking over to her, "but don't let that stop you okay?"

"Heh, you sound just like my mom," Jade said with a grin, "and besides since this is a experiment I don't think I could stop even if I wanted to."

Megan chuckled at that and shook her head.

"I don't think you could no, kind of it the contract you signed?"

"Wait it was?" Jade asked in shock.

"I'm kidding, I'm kidding," Megan laughed, "and I really hope you read the contract."

"...I skimmed it," Jade muttered embarrassed, "Tori read all the way through it."

Dr. Hart shook her head in disbelief and smiled, patting Jade on the shoulder.

"Just remember that if you ever need to talk to some that I'm always willing to listen, for now though why don't we call it a day, I think I've kept you longer then I did Tori."

Jade nodded and stood up, waving goodbye and heading back to her girlfriend who hadn't moved from the table she was sitting at before. Looking up Tori noticed Jade walking towards her and smiled, standing up and running over to hug her.

"So how did it go, she ask you a lot of questions?" Tori asked curiously.

"Only a couple," Jade answered, wrapping her arm around the half Latina, "we mostly just talked."

"Oh...she asked me quite a few," Tori said confused.

"Yeah well I've been emailing her so she knows a bit more about me," Jade shrugged as they headed out, "anyways I'm hungry, so let's go get something to eat."

"Yeah, that sounds good."
