Chapter 17
Hey guys how is everyone doing? I hope that good. So here's chapter 17 like I promised. I hope that everyone enjoys it. We have an epilogue also after this one so basically there is one more chapter that I have to get to writing. So you guys will have one more to read. I was also thinking of re-writing the story but I am not so sure yet since I keep getting these ideas to write these stories so I have a lot in my mind right now. I am currently writing Chosen so I still don't know how long that one will be but I do know that I want to write one that I will name The Bodyguard after that one though. Im thinking about writing it but I'm still not sure I have to wait until the more ideas pop up for that one.
Anyway I hope that you guys don't hate me after this chapter, and I hope that you guys enjoy it. I do not own any of the twilight characters but I do own the ones that I have created.

I stood up and I let the tears fall. "Nessie, please wake up." I said.
Nothing.
I hugged her then. "Nessie please don't leave us!" I told her.
"I'm sorry Gisselle." Carlisle said.
"No! no. There has to be something that can be done. Carlisle please…." I told him.
"I'm sorry. Her heart has stopped beating." Carlisle whispered putting a hand on my shoulder.
I shook my head and hugged Nessie to my chest. "No! Nessie you can't leave us!" I said before I started to cry again.
Someone touched my shoulder but I shook it off.
"Sweetie, let Carlisle disconnect her from the machines." My mother said.
I let go of Nessie and hugged her. "She's gone mom. She left." I said.
My mother hugged me. "I know sweetie, and I'm so sorry for that. I'm sorry that you have to go through this." She said.
I hugged her tightly. "I can't be without her." I said.
"You will have to learn to live with the loss of your child." She said.
I shook my head. "I can't live without her." I told her.
"Yes you can, and you will. You will do it for Nessie." She said.
I looked at my mother and started crying again.
Today was supposed to be a special day. Today was Nessie's first birthday, and now it was her last.
I wouldn't be able to live forever now. I couldn't. if I lived forever that would mean facing each day without looking at Nessie. Without seeing her smile, and hearing her laugh….
"Stop. Stop torturing yourself with something that you couldn't control." Edward said.
"Stay out of my head! I Can think what I want and feel like I want. Just because you hated her the first few months it doesn't mean that you can feel bad and I can't!" I said.
"Gisselle!" My mother said.
I turned to look at her and felt like I couldn't breathe. "I'm sorry." I said.
Edward turned around and left the room.
"Just because you are hurting it doesn't mean that he is not either. It does not mean that all of us aren't. You are not supposed to talk to anyone like that." My mother said.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean it. It just came out." I told her.
"Don't apologize to me. Go and apologize to your husband. Both of you have lost a child, and you are supposed to be conforming each other, not turning against each other as if you don't love each other. Just because you are hurt it does not give you the right to hurt someone else. Is that what Nessie would want?" She asked.
I flinched when she mentioned Nessie.
"Now go find him and apologize." She said.
I cleaned my tears and nodded. I turned to look at Nessie one last time and sighed. I ran out of the room and went downstairs. "Did anyone see Edward?" I asked.
"He's outside." Emmett answered without looking up.
I nodded. "Thank you." I said before I walked outside. I looked around for Edward and didn't find him. I followed his scent into the woods to the same place that I had taken him months ago after he had yelled at Nessie.
"Edward." I said.
He turned around and I saw how much he was hurting then.
"I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you that way." I told him as the tears rolled down my cheeks.
"I forgive you. I know how much you're hurting." He said.
I went to him and hugged him. "I know that you are hurting as well. I am truly sorry for saying something so selfish. I was only thinking about my pain, and not yours. I know that you love her too." I said.
"You're not perfect Gisselle. You are going to make mistakes. We all do. I forgive you because I know that you didn't mean it. I know that you are really broken on the inside and I wish I could do something to help you but all I can do is hug you and let you heal." He said.
I started to sob as he wrapped his arms around me tightly.
Just then we heard a heartbeat.
I looked up. "What was that?" I asked.
"I don't know." He said.
Then he heard it again.
"Could it be that….?" I asked.
"Let's go see." He said.
We ran back to the house and Edward opened the door.
Everybody had left the living room, and they were nowhere to be seen.
We ran up to Carlisle's office and saw that everyone was in there.
They were all piled up against the walls.
Edward and I walked in slowly. "What's going on?" Edward asked.
"We weren't sure that we had heard it so we all ran up here to make sure that we had heard right." Alice said speaking for everyone else.
"We heard a faint heart beat twice. We still had hope…." Emmett said looking down.
My eyes started burning again since we had gotten our hopes up. I nodded. I understood what they felt and how they felt.
I went to give Emmett a hug. "I'm sorry." I told him. I knew that he was hurting as an uncle.
"For what? I should be the one saying that to you." He said.
I smiled. "I know but I also know that everyone is hurting. It's hard on everyone not just me." I said.
Emmett hugged me tightly and then he let me go. "I know little sis. It's not easy. I really wish none of this had happened." He said.
I nodded and took a deep breath. Then I let it out. "Me too." I said before the tears started rolling down my cheeks again.
"Oh honey." Esme said before she came to give me a hug.
I hugged her back. I really didn't know how long I was going to be like this. The hurting and the crying I didn't know how long I was going to be able to live like this.
Just then we heard a heartbeat again.
I turned to look at Nessie on the bed.
Everyone was quiet, listening to see if we had heard right.
Then there is was again.
A weak heartbeat.
"Carlisle, connect her to the machine again." Edward said.
Carlisle and Edward connected Nessie back to the heart monitor.
Then we heard her heart start beating slowly.
I moved to Nessie's side. I could see color returning to her face. "Nessie." I said.
Her heart beat started to pick up with every passing moment.
"Is she going to be waking up soon?" Rosalie asked.
"She's probably going through the transformation. It will probably take her three days for her to wake up. I think that everyone should go rest." Carlisle said.
We all nodded.
"Especially you." Grandma Alice said.
I nodded.
"I don't want my great grandchild to be born early or with complications." Grandma Alice said.
My eyes widened.
"What?!" Everyone else said.
I blushed.
"You hadn't told anyone?" Grandma Alice asked.
"I didn't know." I said.
"Well now you do. So right to bed missy." My father said.
"But…." I said before I was interrupted by my mother.
"No buts young lady. Right to bed." My mother said.
I sighed and rolled my eyes.
"And no eye rolling. It's for your own good. Tomorrow you can be here with Nessie." My father said.
"Alright, alright y'all win. I'll go and rest and I'll be back tomorrow." I said.
They nodded.
"Get some rest sweetie. It's been a long and hard day. The hard part is over now." My mother said.
I smiled and nodded. I left the room and heard a set of footsteps behind me. I didn't have to turn around to know it was.
Edward and I left to our little cottage together.
I took a shower to relax and then I got ready for bed. I went to lie down next to Edward and sighed.
Edward wrapped his arms around me and hugged me to his chest. "So, we're going to be parents again?' He asked.
I blushed. "It's probably in process." I told him.
Edward chuckled. "Ness is going to be very happy when she hears the great news." He said.
I sighed. "I'm glad she's coming back. Those few minutes that we lost her…..I felt like my heart was breaking into a million pieces." I told him.
"I know. I felt the same. I really don't know how I would have felt if I had not given her a chance months ago." Edward said.
I took his face between my hands. "You gave her a chance, and that is all that counts. You gave us the chance to become a family and I love you for that and much more." I told him.
Edward kissed me lightly.
I kissed him back deepening the kiss. I started to take of his shirt.
"Are you sure?" Edward asked.
I nodded. "Make me yours again, Edward." I told him.
Edward smiled. "With pleasure." He said before kissing me again and lying down on his back so I was on top of him.
*()*
"Gisselle, what color do you think we should paint the walls?" Esme asked.
I had been the whole day in the room with Nessie hoping that she would wake up soon or hoping there was at least a small change, but everything continued the same as last night.
Nessie's color had returned, and her heart was back to normal. The only changes were that he features were changing. Her skin looked more like vampire skin that human.
"I don't know. A aqua color? Or maybe a lilac?" I asked not taking my eyes off Renesmee.
Grandma Alice sighed.
"What?" I asked.
"Maybe you should go with Esme and pick out some thinks of Nessie's room, and you can start decorating the baby room also." Grandma Alice said.
I shook my head. I don't want to leave Nessie." I told them.
"I'll stay with her, and I'll call you if there is any changes at all. No matter how small it is." Grandma Alice said.
I sighed and nodded. "Okay. Let me just go change and then we can leave." I said.
Esme smiled and nodded. "I'll wait for you right here honey." She said with a smile.
I smiled and nodded. I took one last look at Nessie before I left the room and headed to the Cottage. I took a shower and then I went to get dressed. I did not know what to wear so I took longer than I expected in my closet. I tried to put on some jeans just to see that they were fitting me tight.
I sighed and decided to wear an aqua sun dress that was to my knees instead. I put my hair up in a ponytail and did my make-up lightly. I took one last look in the mirror and then I ran back to the house.
I ran up the stairs to Carlisle's office.
Esme and Grandma Alice were still there.
"You look gorgeous in that dress." Esme said.
I smiled and blushed. "Thank you. It looks like I'm going to need to go shopping for some jeans Esme." I said.
Grandma Alice started clapping her hands together. "She's going to be a beautiful baby." She said.
I rolled my eyes. "I haven't been looking because I didn't wanted to know what I was having yet. I wanted to do a gender reveal." I told her.
"But you might never know if it's a boy. You can still do it. Your mother and I can take care of it." Grandma Alice said.
I smiled. "Okay. You're ready to go Esme?" I asked.
Esme nodded.
"Remember to call me in case there are any changes grandma Alice." I told her.
Grandma Alice smiled and waved her hand. "I will. Now go and have some fun." She said waving us off.
I chuckled and shook my head.
Esme and I walked out of the house and we got in her car.
"I'm guessing that whatever we get, you're going to have the guys pick it up?" I asked.
"Or we can always get it delivered." Esme said with a smile.
I chuckled before I put on my seatbelt.
Esme backed out of the driveway and then we left. "So, how do you feel becoming a mother again?" She asked.
"It was unexpected but I'm happy. Edward looks happy. We just need Nessie to wake up so we can be a complete family again." I told her.
Esme nodded. "She will wake up, and she's going to be very happy with the news. Do you want it to be a boy or a girl?" Esme said.
"I really don't know. I know that grandma Alice and Rosalie are going to want a girl so they can make her model like they did with Renesmee and Elizabeth. But you know what I wish for?" I said.
"What is it?" She asked.
"That they could last longer being babies. They grow up fast." I said.
Esme nodded. "That's true. Even though we're not able to have children, I want you know that we enjoy listening to their laugher and we enjoy having then run around the house." Esme said.
"Where are Anthony, William, and Elizabeth?" I asked.
"The guys and your family took them hunting. They had started to ask questions and Edward didn't wanted them to know what happened during the night." Esme said.
I nodded. "What do they think that happened?" I asked as Esme parked her car.
"They just think that she passed out because she has not been hunting." Esme said.
"You do know that they are smart enough to figure out stuff on their own, right?" I asked before we got out the car.
Esme nodded and smiled. "But Nessie is okay and she will be up before we know it." Esme said.
I nodded.
We spent hours walking around different stores looking for the perfect furniture for Nessie's room and the baby room. We decided to paint Nessie's room an aqua color and her furniture to be white. We decided to get white furniture for the baby room, and that the baby room would be painted when we did the gender reveal.
After that we went shopping for some maternity clothes, baby clothes and some outfits that Nessie might like. We found something for the triplets, and the rest of the family. We were just leaving the store when I got a call from grandma Alice.
"Hello?" I answered.
"Gisselle y'all need to come back home fast." She said.
"Why? What happened? Did she wake up? Are there any changes?" I asked.
"No, everything is the same, but we have a visitor." Grandma Alice said.
"Who?" I asked.
"Alec Volturi." Grandma Alice said.
"What?! What does he want? Is he alone?" I asked.
"He's alone but y'all better hurry." Grandma Alice said before she hung up.
Esme and I walked as quickly as possible to her car without alerting the few humans that were still at the mall since it was dark already. Esme drove faster than usual so we could make it home.
What was Alec doing here? And what did he want? Why was he alone? Had someone sent him? What was going on?
When we got home, Esme parked in the front.
There was a car that we did not recognize parked in front of the house, and Alec Volturi was leaning against the car waiting for us.
"Gisselle, Mrs. Cullen." Alec greeted us.
"Alec." I said.
He nodded once.
"What brings you to Forks, Alec?" I asked.
"You won't believe me after I tell you." He said.
"Tell us what?" I asked.
"May I come inside?" He asked.
"We need to know something first before we let you in" Esme said
"I will answer all of your questions." Alec said.
"Did the Volturi send you?" Esme asked.
"No. I'm here on my own." Alec said.
We nodded.
"How do we know that you are telling us the truth?" Esme asked.
"We just have to wait for Edward. Alice called him before she called you. He should be here soon." Alec said.
"Let's get inside." Esme said.
Alec and I followed her inside.
"I'll be right back." I said before I rushed up to Carlisle's office. I checked on Nessie making sure that everything was still fine.
There were some small changes on her face. You wouldn't have noticed them unless you were really looking.
"I'm here baby. Come back to us soon." I told her before I kissed her forehead.
I left Carlisle's office and went downstairs
"What's going on?" Edward asked.
I went to stand next to Edward.
"What are you doing here, Alec?" Edward asked.
Alec looked at Edward. "I'm here for your daughter." Alec said.
"You're not taking her away from us." I told him.
Alec shook his head, and Edward stared at him trying to read him.
"He's not here to take Renesmee away, love." Edward said not taking his eyes away from Alec.
What was he talking about? And why was Edward so calm?
"When he said that he came for our daughter, he meant that he wanted to be there for her." Edward said.
"Why?" I asked.
"Because I love her." Alec said.
I shook my head. "That's not possible. She was just a child when you saw her. She still is." I said.
Alec sighed. "I don't understand it either. After that day on the field…I haven't been able to stop thinking of her. I would walk the streets at night in Voltera wondering if she was okay. If she was still alive. You have no idea how hard this has been for me. I have never felt like this before. I felt like I was going insane. It's so strong that a few nights ago, I left Voltera and the Volturi. I didn't know where I was going until I was in front of the door to your home." Alec said.
I nodded. "Does Aro know that you left?" I asked.
Alec shook his head. "Aro knew that there was something going on. He tried to read my thoughts but I wouldn't let him. Since the day, I saw her….it was like a cure to a spell. I started seeing things differently. My loyalty changed. I changed. I haven't been able to feed on humans. Everything is so different and weird, but it feels right. I don't know if y'all understand me." Alec said.
He looked lost but at the same time he looked like he had found his home. His famiy.
Edward sighed. "I understand how that is." He said.
I went to give Alec a hug. "Don't worry. With time, you'll learn and you'll see that is not different. It's better." I told him before I let him go.
"Do you want to see her?" Edward asked.
Alec nodded.
We walked with Alec up the stairs to Carlisle's office. We waked in.
Alec stood by the door in shock. "What happened?" He asked.
"She died last night. Her heart stopped beating…. but she came back. We think that she is going thru the change since she's changing so much." Edward said.
"When will she be waking up?" Alec asked.
I checked Renesmee's future and I was glad that I could see her again. "She should be waking up by tomorrow morning." I said.
Everyone sighed.
"Well dress her tonight, and we'll have her looking beautiful." Esme said.
"She's already beautiful." Alec said.
I smiled.
He looked so in love.
I just hoped that everything worked out okay for both. "I'll be back in a few minutes. I'm going to go get something to eat." I said.
"I'll cook you something." Esme said.
I nodded.
Esme and I left Carlisle's office together and we went down to the kitchen. "What would you like, dear?" Esme asked.
"Um…. a grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup?" I asked.
Esme smiled. "A grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup coming right up." Esme said before she stared grabbing the stuff that she needed.
"How did you become such a great cook? I mean y'all don't eat so I always wondered that." I said.
Esme smiled and started to prepare the food. "Well since we don't sleep we have to do something to keep ourselves entertained. Carlisle became a doctor. At first, he would only take the night shifts since it was slower and he was still trying to get used to the smell of blood. Edward learned different languages and he learned to play the piano. He has even composed some songs like you. I have always loved to cook, so I started experimenting with food and since we don't eat I would give the food away." Esme said.
I nodded. "The old lady that took me in taught me to play the piano. She composed me a song and that was the first song I taught to Renesmee. She was an amazing cook. Your cooking sometimes reminds me of her." I told her.
"Was she human?" Esme asked.
I nodded. "I miss her. Even though I have found my mother, I still think of her as a mother." I told her.
"How did she pass?" Esme asked.
"Of old age. I stayed with her until her last days. I took care of her just like she took care of me, and I will forever be thankful to her for taking me in even though she knew what I was and what I could do." I told her.
Esme smiled. "I'm glad that she took you in as well. You make my son very happy and I thank you for that." Esme said as she placed the plate of food in front of me.
I smiled. "You're welcome Esme. Edward makes me happy and he has given me our little family and I couldn't be more thankful for that. I found my parents, I have y'all as my family and Nessie is going to be okay I couldn't ask for nothing more." I told her.
Esme came to sit down next to me and smiled. "And you have this little one on the way." She said before she touched my stomach.
I smiled. I guess that after all we were going to get our happily ever after.

I woke up in the morning and went to take a shower.
Edward was probably back at the house since the rest of our family was supposed to be coming back with the children.
I went to take a quick shower and got ready for the day.
Nessie was supposed to be waking up soon and I wanted to be there when she woke up.
I had to put on some of the maternity clothes that I picked out with Esme. I decided to put on some blue jeans and a burgundy long sleeve but it was open on the back. I put on my black boots and brushed my hair. I put on some make-up and then I went to take a last look at myself on the mirror.
I smiled. In had a small bump but I could notice the difference. I put one hand on my bump and sighed.
I love you baby, and I can't wait to meet you.
I felt a movement inside of me and I took it like the baby was telling me the same thing. I got out of my room and left the cottage. I bumped into Edward half way to the house.
"I was on my way to get you." Edward said.
"Is something wrong?" I asked.
Edward looked at me and smiled. "Everything is okay. You look very beautiful, love." He said before he hugged me.
I smiled and hugged him back. "Thank you. You look handsome as well. Are you going somewhere?" I asked.
Edward let me go but kept my hands in his. He smiled and shook his head. "Our daughter is awake. She is waiting for you." He said.
I smiled and felt a little pain in my heart. I wanted to be there when she woke up but at least she's awake.
"I didn't want to wake you up. I know that you were tired and I wanted you to rest some more." Edward said.
I smiled. "And thank you for letting me rest." I told him before I gave him a peck on the lips.
"Let's go see our daughter." Edward said.
I smiled and nodded.
We ran back to the house together and up the stairs.
Edward went in first into Carlisle's office.
I took a deep breath and let it out. Then I walked in.
All our family was there looking at Renesmee.
Carlisle was checking her pulse.
Renesmee was sitting up at the end of the bed. Her hair was down in long ringlets and up on the sides. She was wearing a royal blue dress with spaghetti straps and some black flats. When she heard me walk in, she turned to look at me and smiled.
I smiled and walked to her.
"Momma!" Renesmee said before she ran to me. She had the vampire speed now, and the skin of a vampire also.
I smiled and hugged her tightly to my chest.
Her head was just under my chin. She was taller now.
"I'm here baby." I told her as she started crying. I let my tears fall also glad to have my daughter in my arms again.
"Now we can be together forever?" Renesmee asked between sobs.
I nodded. "Yes baby. Now we can be together as a family forever." I told her.
"I love you momma." She said hugging me tighter.
I smiled. "I love you too. My daughter. My Renesmee."
Okay guys that is it for this chapter. I am sorry that it look me longer than I expected to finish it but I had work and I've been tired and then I had my brother's graduation so I just finished it today. I was going to make this the last chapter and the epilogue to the story but I decided to write one more as the epilogue since there is something else I have in mind.
