Chapter 28: Hedgehog?

"Hmm."

Kimimaro turned towards the person who had disrupted his training session.

"Hmm."

Kimimaro lifted an eyebrow. "Is there something I can help you with, Kagome-sama?"

Kagome stood by a tree, hand under her chin and head tilted in contemplation as she observed the man before her.

"Hmm."

Kimimaro tilted his head to the side in silent question.

"Hmm."

"Kagome-sama-" Kimimaro started only to be interrupted.

Kagome slammed her fist onto her palm, before raising a finger to the sky and saying . . .

"A hedgehog!"

Kimimaro looked at her blankly, confused. "Pardon?"

Kagome nodded her head to herself, crossing her arms over her chest and closing her eyes. "Yes, definitely a hedgehog."

"I'm sorry Kagome-sama, but I do not understand." Kimimaro confessed, trying to comprehend what she was trying to say.

Kagome looked at him, walking up to him and poking him in his chest. "You."

"Huh?" Kimimaro exclaimed, more confused than before.

Kagome clasped her hands behind her back, leaning forward towards him with a bright smile.

"You look like a hedgehog!"

"What?" Kimimaro questioned, tilting his head to the side.

Kagome inwardly 'squee'd'.

"A hedgehog." Kagome said. "You know, small spikey yet furry, adorable, little animal that is soooooooo~ cute!" Kagome exclaimed.

"Yes, I know what a hedgehog is, Kagome-sama." Kimimaro said. "I just do not know how you believe that I look like one. We share no similar properties, unless you count the fact that you call both hedgehogs, and myself, cute."

"Well, look at you!" Kagome shouted, pointing at him.

He did as told and gave himself a once over. He looked basically as he normally did, apart from the numerous rib bones protruding from his back, pointing upwards.

He looked to be deliberating. After a moment, he looked back to Kagome and stated, "I still see no such connection."

Kagome sighed in exasperation before explaining, "You are cute and have spikes coming out your back! Therefore you look like a hedgehog!"

Kimimaro's brow furrowed in thought. "I still cannot see how you would reach the conclusion that I, a trained and skilled killer, am similar to a small, practically harmless creature."

Kagome sighed once again, linking arms with him and walking towards the entrance of Orochimaru's current hideout.

"You're lucky you're pretty."

A/N: WOW! Over 200 reviews! Thanks so much for all of your support! I feel all giddy inside n.n Here's a chapter as thanks! I will update again soon! This time I absolutely promise!

I had most of this chap written, but lost my train of thought and didn't finish it. Then I hosted a Japanese student, and when I finally DID manage to finish this chap, the laptop overheated and shutdown, erasing the last minute of writing, which was the last few lines. XD I couldn't continue right away after that crushing blow, knowing I'd be too focussed on writing it exactly the same. So I gave myself a few days to cool off and forget the almost exact words.

But now it's finished and up so YAY!
