Chapter 30: Love is Blind

Stalking.

Silently and stealthily, he stalked his prey, watching, moving quickly and smoothly through the trees.

His prey lay in the clearing, eyes closed, oblivious to the world, relaxed in their false sense of security.

His eyes sharpened and narrowed as he moved in ever closer.

Closer . . .

. . . Closer . . .

He was right above his prey now, his body tensed, ready to pounce.

"Don't even think about it."

Halfway into his jump, he froze and pouted.

"Mou Gome-chan~" He whined as he flopped down on the ground next to her. Kagome shook her head, opened her eyes, then pushed herself up and leant back onto her hands as she turned to look at him. He looked back into her cloudy blue, almost white, eyes. "How do you always know?"

She giggled at him, her laugh tinkling pleasantly in his ears. "Just because I'm blind, doesn't mean I've lost my miko abilities." She said with a smile. "You should know that already Kyuu-kun."

'Kyuu-kun' frowned at her, glaring at her.

"I may be blind, but I can still feel the hole you're trying to burn into my face." Kagome said in amusement.

He stopped glaring at her to pout once more. "I told you to stop calling me 'Kyuu-kun'! It's embarrassing! I'm Kurama! The Kyuubi no Youko! Not some cute, little fox from the forest!"

Kagome rolled her eyes, "My apologies, oh great Kyuubi-sama! Please forgive me for addressing one of your standing so poorly!" She said over dramatically, voice filled with sarcasm.

Kurama gave her a blank stare, before a glint entered his eyes and he smirked mischievously. "Maa, maa, if only I could, but you see, the crime of addressing one so highly stationed as me so disrespectfully, can simply not go unpunished." His grin turned slightly sinister.

Kagome's eyes widened a slightly, an unsure expression crossing her face. "Y-you're kidding, na, Kurama?" Kagome said, crawling backwards slightly as she felt him move in closer.

"Oh, I'm deathly serious." He said, growling slightly as he prepared to pounce.

"Eep."

He launched towards her.

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA~!"

"Pay for your crimes human!"

"N-no! Haha! P-please st-stop! Hahaha!"

Kagome writhed around as Kurama tickled her relentlessly.

"Call me Kurama!"

"N-never! Ahahaha!" Kagome stuttered.

"Do it! Call me Kurama!" He demanded, continuing with his sweet torture on her sides.

"O-ok! K-Kuram-ma dammit!"

Kurama stopped tickling her sides and stared down at her. Sometime during their struggle, Kurama had straddled Kagome to keep her from escaping, holding both of her wrists above her head in one of his hands.

He gazed down into her unseeing eyes. Leaning down so his lips hovered a hair's breadth above hers he whispered.

"Say it again."

Kagome smiled as she felt his breath ghost across her lips.

"Kurama."

Their lips collided.
