Character: Snape
Prompt: traitor
Traitor.
Severus Snape was no stranger to the word. He supposed the word fits him. After all, when his loyalty was tested, he failed. He went running to Dumbledore the moment he realized that the Dark Lord was hunting beautiful Lily. It left an awful taste in his mouth, turning against everything he believed in, but it was beautiful Lily. He couldn't let her die.
She still died.
And Severus blamed Dumbledore for not protecting her better, Voldemort for killing her, but mostly he blamed himself for telling Voldemort the prophecy in the first place.
But Voldemort was dead and the Death Eaters still free were suspicious of him, and the only option he had was to take up teaching at Hogwarts. The staff, those who were on the winning side, gave him looks of disdain. He was safe at Hogwarts, despite everything. He thought it was the end of it.
Then Voldemort came back. And everything started again. He died a traitor because of a boy with Lily's eyes.
