Chapter 2
I was shocked. All I could say was "Wow."
The announcer took the radio to music before focusing on me. He had me fill out some paperwork verifying that I was over 18 before handing me a round trip ticket, "Now, the plane will leave Las Vegas airport at 5:30 am on the 26th so you can get to Boston by noon. There will be a driver waiting for you in Boston to take you to your hotel so you can drop off your things before going to lunch and the meet and greet with the Ghost Adventures Crew. So it is important that you arrive at the airport on time."
"Okay," I breathed then smiled, "Thank-you."
"You're welcome. Have a good day."
I walked down to Hibbett Sports before looking at my phone and realizing that the 26th was two days away. Greeeeaaaat. Well at least I got twenty-four hours to pack and talk to my boss. That's gonna be fun. I rolled my eyes. So Boston. What's the weather like in Boston? Snow and coldness immediately popped into my head so I looked for some sweats. I knew I could get shirts cheaper at Walmart so I didn't bother looking there. When I got to Walmart I got five No Boundaries tank tops in black, white, blue, lime green, and hot pink. I also got heather grey and black long sleeved thermals. I then went to the shoes and found a pair of snow boots that looked like combat boots. I couldn't think of anything else that I needed so I went on home. Angel was excited to see me when I got there, she eagerly sat in my lap once I sat down on the couch after putting my new clothes away. I petted and loved on her while flipping through channels on the TV until about 11 o'clock.
The next day I went over to The Witching Hour and talked with my boss about the trip and using my vacation time that I had saved up to cover it. At first I thought he'd be mad about the short notice but he was actually pretty mellow about it, which was cool. So I spent most of day packing, trying not to take my entire bedroom with me. After I finally finished, I went and made me a sandwich. My stomach was in knots so I didn't want to eat too much. I tried going to sleep early, but I kept waking up every half hour so at 3:30 a.m. I gave up and just stayed up until it was time to leave. I was in a pair of grey cotton shorts and a black v-neck tank top, but was too tired to do much more than throw on my old black tennis sweats and my black avenged sevenfold zip up hoodie before grabbing my suitcase and heading to the airport. I blasted the A/C and radio so I wouldn't fall asleep at the wheel. I made it through airport security pretty easy, but that was mostly because it was so early that the lines were short. I got to the lobby only to find none other than the Ghost Adventures Crew themselves standing there. I thought I wasn't supposed to meet them until that lunch thing. I hesitated about walking over to where they were until I noticed that Aaron held a sign with my name on it.
When they noticed me coming their way all conversation died. "Hello?" Zak asked. I just waved my right hand while I covered my mouth with my left to yawn. "Can we help you?" I shrugged my shoulders.
"Who are you?" Aaron asked. I grabbed the sign that he was holding and grinned for a tenth of a second before handing the sign back.
"Oh!" Nick said, understanding, "Hi, I'm Nick, that's Aaron, and this is Zak." I waved once. "Are you excited?" he asked. I twisted my hand up and down in a 'kind of' gesture.
"Why's that?"
"Tired," I said as I yawned then wiped my eyes.
"You're different than I was expecting," Zak commented. I looked over at him questioningly. "I was expecting a crazed fan girl with fake, camera ready looks and some girly outfit."
I looked down at my tank top, sweats, and flats before giving him a 'are you kidding me' look. "Really?" I said my southern accent coming out, "It's 5 o'clock in the mornin'. I ain't had but four maybe five hours sleep so far, so if you don't like the way I look then all I can say is fuck you 'cause I ain't gettin' dolled up for NOBODY for ANY reason 'les I feel like it. It's too damn early for this shit!"
Zak was speechless.
Nick laughed.
Aaron said, "I believe this is going to be the start of a beautiful friendship," quoting Jim Carrey.
