Hey, look- I'm not dead XD

Dammit, Sasuke thought. He ran after the dobe, willing his legs to go faster before the blur of blue and yellow disappeared from sight again. His rival had always been a decent runner, spending so much of his life escaping from revenge seeking villagers after a prank, but now it was like playing a game of cat and mouse with Lee! And Sasuke was far from amused playing with his mouse.

The Uchiha kicked hard on the roof, resulting in fallen and broken shingles on the ground below. "Hey!" Some villager yelled beneath him. But Sasuke was hardly in the state of mind to pay her any mind. Three more houses lost shingles before Naruto seemed to be slowing down. Finally! he thought, excitement overriding his good sense, a chance to catch his rival.

A smile crept across the Uchiha's face, he nose dived down to Naruto. Only to recieve a kick from behind. Eyes widened in shock as he turned his head. Naruto with a pained expression was there behind him and not in front as he had thought previously. Sasuke reached out, open palmed at his smaller team-mate as he fell. Naruto tried to jerk back, kicking off a nearby building towards another roof, but Sasuke managed to snag his jacket just a enough to hold on. The extra weight threw Naruto off balance and sending both the teme and dobe plummeting towards the street below them. Naruto cried out and Sasuke stayed eerily quiet.

Naruto felt his heart leap up in his mouth and choke off his yelp prematurely. The pain in his stomach was still thrumming with a study beat making his growing nausea worse. 'No, no, no...'

'Kids' an echoing voice sighed. Visible heat seemed to be rising from Naruto's skin, almost as if it had a mind of its own whipping around the couple. One snapped only a cm from Sasuke's face snapping him out of whatever fantasy he had found himself previously immersed in. After coming back to reality the Uchiha reacted quickly, he barrel rolled both himself and his dobe until Naruto was wrapped more into his arms to grip tightly. He kicked the building closest to them, trying to run on its surface. At first dust was released in plumes as bits of the building crumbled under his harsh treatment.

Chakra was pouring out of him as he tried to focus the right amount into his feet to stop them slow enough to not injure either of them. Finally when the ground was becoming to close he pushed his chakra harder but too fast it pushed the couple off the wall and across to another building, knocking the fire jutsu user's head against the hard stone. Dazed, he started to lose grip on Naruto but amazingly never lost him. He never noticed the heat tendrils still there, flailing wildly around them, nor the half dozen tying Naruto to himself. The spots refused to leave Sasuke's eyes, so he closed them and focused, not on the ground coming oh so much closer, or the weight in his arms, but on the wall. It was an inanimate object, it didn't have it's a pulsing chakra, it was even alive like a tree or even a normal work, being reformed by man so much, but there was still something there, he could feel it. Now he only needed to match the solid and unwavering chakra coming from the stone. Calm, solid, strong, he thought and instead of pushing the chakra out, he let it flow to match the walls own chakra patterns until, there, his chakra had clicked with the wall. At first it was only just a little, starting to slow them, but then more and more as his fruitless steps found purchase and they began to climb. Faster and faster he ran up the building until he could jump, now only a foot in the air from the building's roof. When he heard the thud of their landing, he had never been so relieved in his life.

His body was taught like a bowstring, nerves tingling inside his body like a nervous Aburame hive was buzzing inside him. Sauke looked over to his companion. "What the hell were you thinking, dobe!"

"Me! naruto yelled, what about you grabbing onto me, we both would of been fine if somebody had just let go and dealt with the fall by himself!"

Sauske flinched back a bit, not used to Naruto's arguments making so much sense. Not that he'd admit it, later, once his nerves had worn down and he could be properly mad at the idiot, and no soo... worried. And that may have been the scariest thought of all. Just how worried he was about Naruto and not himself. He was a lone ninja, living with a singular reason. His thoughts straying from that just made the idea of all this all the more terrifying. But, not being one to let emotions like these over ride him nowdays he pushed it aside for something for familiar.

"Well if someone hadn't run off like a child from training, and not even say why, stupid! A companionable argument with the dobe.

"Grrr" Naruto was gritting his teeth trying to keep his temper. Today was not the day to be messing with him. Everything hurt, even his hair hurt, and how the hell did hair hurt! Everything hurt and starting to spin and, hot, so hot, and~he had to get out of here! He managed to stand, admittedly a bit wobbly.

Sasuke could swear he could growling, but he pushed it out of his mind and focused on the blonde as he tried to stand. He was stumbling around looking woozily around. "Sit down, dobe!"

"Shut up." Naruto breathed, but his words had no actual bite. Damn, he thought, I can't hold on much longer. He needed to be alone, that's all he could think about, somehow he had to manage to get away. The heat in him was building.

Detracted as he was, Sasuke managed to reach out to take the blonde's wrist. But when he did touch Naruto, he pulled his hand back as if he were burned. He looked down at his hand. It was burnt, his eyes widened at blistery red skin.

Naruto barely noticed Sasuke preoccupation, but it was enough to get through to his brain, run-now! He leaped from the building, it was far from graceful but it was enough to reach a balcony, then a store's awning and finally the ground. The little vixen sprinted away leaving a very confused Uchiha behind.
