Chapter 2: Text Me Back

(A/N: Hey guys! Omg, it's been literally forever since I've updated this story. It's a long story as to why I haven't, so I'll just be straight with you guys. One word: LIFE. Yes, life has been so stressful and caused me to just drift away and forget about writing. Besides this one and my other story, 'Come Back to Me', I haven't been writing this serious at all. Well anyways, I'm deeply sorry and hope that you'll continue to review and show the love you guys have been doing even back then.)

***P.S.: I know this story is rushed/badly written in my opinion, but I wrote it when I was in middle school, back in 2011-2012 and I admit I did edit this story here and there, but didn't want to do that much editing to just to give you guys my style and development when I was younger in terms of writing and genuinely want to know what you guys think.***

***P.S. In the first chapter I said Naruto was 15 but I've changed his age to 18 and Hinata is 17, etc etc.)***

Hinata was sleeping soundly until her 'text message' ringtone went off. "Ugh who could be texting me at 9:00AM?" Even though she was extremely tired, she got up, rubbed her eyes and tapped her phone, revealing a text from Kiba.

*1 MESSAGE: Kiba: Hey Hinata, I know you're kind of with Naruto & all, but that doesn't mean we can't hang out? You know, just like old times. - RECEIVED 9:11AM.

She didn't know what to say, after all, if Naruto saw her alone with Kiba, he would get uneasy and jump to conclusions, that's just how he is.

*Sure, is it going to be just the two of us? Or with Shino or maybe Ino can come too. - DELIVERED 9:12AM

*1 MESSAGE: Kiba: Oh I think Shino might be busy with his dad and Ino, you can ask if you want, but it'd be nice to just hang out with my own teammate. - RECEIVED 9:12AM

'Oh no, he wants to be alone!' She thought.

*I see, what do you want to do? Train? - DELIVERED 9:13AM

*1 MESSAGE: Kiba: Yeah that's what we were gonna do! So that's fine with me. All we need is a location - RECEIVED 9:14AM

*Wherever you want, that's fine. - DELIVERED 9:14AM

*1 MESSAGE: Kiba: How about in the forest? - RECEIVED 9:16AM

*Okay, what time? - DELIVERED 9:17AM

1 MESSAGE: Kiba: Er, 9:45? - RECEIVED 9:17AM

'I just got up Kiba!' Hinata said in her head.

*Sure! Fine with me. - SENT 9:19AM

To be honest, she really didn't' want to go, but she knew Kiba and saying "no" wouldn't be an option. He would keep bothering Hinata until she eventually gave up and said yes. He did that with Shino all the time.

*1 MESSAGE: Kiba: Alright, it'll be fun trust meee! See ya soon" - RECEIVED 9:20AM

She didn't reply to that one but instead, she just went back to bed for a few more minutes...

A 'few more minutes' slipped by like hours until finally it was 12:23PM!

Her eyes examined the clock and shot open when saw the time. She flew out of the bed, regardless of how weary she was and ran to the bathroom and washed up. She initially didn't want to hang out with Kiba but regardless they've been friends for years and it was just in her caring and loving nature to never turn away a friend despite the circumstance of the situation. Besides Naruto, Shino and Kiba were her close ones. Hinata sprinted to her room to see phone have 7 text messages! She tapped her screen and began reading away. 5 from Kiba, 1 from Naruto, and 1 last one from Shino. Shino? Weird.

*1 MESSAGE: Kiba: Are you awake yet? - RECEIVED 9:42AM

*1 MESSAGE: Kiba: Hinata! - RECEVIED 9:52AM

*1 MESSAGE: Kiba: If you didn't want to come you could've just told me" - RECEIVED 10:03AM

*1 MESSAGE: Kiba: Hello? - RECEIVED 10:38AM

*1 MESSAGE Kiba: …... - RECEIVED 11:01AM

'Kiba I am so sorry.' Hinata felt herself shaking out of guilt but she continued reading the rest.

*1 MESSAGE: Naruto~ ^o^: Good afternoon Hinata :D – RECEIVED 12:06PM

*1 MESSAGE: Shino: Kiba is sulking... - RECEIVED 12:10PM

"It wasn't my fault!" She complained out loud until she eventually replied to Kiba, just to ease her guilt.

*I'm sorry, please forgive me! The time slipped by...I did want to hang out... - DELIVERED 12:29PM

No answer.

So, she went to the bathroom again, brushed her hair and put on her everyday clothes. Mesh undershirt, Sweater, blue pants and her shinobi sandals before jumping out the window and landing on a comfortable pile of grass below and began running off into the forest. After about 5 minutes, she arrived there to find Kiba playing with Akamaru, alone. "Kiba?" Hinata spoke softly. "K-kiba?" She said again. He turned around, now facing her. "Oh hey, lookie here, guess you finally decided to show up." He joked. "Kiba I'm sorry, the time, it slipped by, really." "I understand, I just thought you stood me up. Nice of you to actually come through." He smiled, as if it never happened. After a few seconds of awkward silence, Kiba finally said, "Wanna sit down?" "Sure" and both of them found a spot on a decrepit wooden bench together.

Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep!

"What was that?" "O-oh, it's just my phone, sorry." She reached in her pocket and pulled out her phone and saw 1 text from Naruto.

*1 MESSAGE: Naruto~ ^o^: Hinata where are you? - RECEIVED 12:58PM

Bad timing.

*I'm with Kiba, we're about to go train for a while. - DELIVERED 12:58PM

"Who was it?" Kiba questioned. "Oh, it was-" Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep!

*1 MESSAGE: Naruto~ ^o^: I texted you at 12 /: and why Kiba...? - RECEIVED 12:59PM

*I know, I'm sorry, I honestly thought I replied? And what's wrong with Kiba? - DELIEVERED 12:59PM

She loved Naruto a lot, but she'd never allow anyone to disrespect or question her friends like that. She cared too much. Even if Kiba is weird, she still loved him as well, too. She didn't know why Naruto didn't just trust her...

Hinata could feel Kiba getting annoyed with the back and forth text messages, and she wouldn't blame him but she couldn't just leave Naruto hanging either. He gave Hinata her time though, he knew it had to be important.

*1 MESSAGE: Naruto~ ^o^: I don't know, he's just weird... but, where are you? - RECEIVED 1:00PM

*I'm at the forest – DELIVERED 1:00PM

*1 MESSAGE: Naruto~ ^o^: Oh, okay. - RECEIVED 1:00PM

"Hinata, that was Naruto, right? Kiba said, sounding like a mummy. "Yes, but let's just hang out, like the good old days." she forced a smile, trying to cheer him up. She doesn't know why she was acting so weird around him. It's not like she liked him, I guess she was just paranoid. Paranoid that things will go wrong between Naruto and Kiba, with her in the middle of everything.

"okay." He said, and smiled back.
