Chapter 3: I Just Can't (P.O.V.'s)

"Byakugan!" Hinata said focusing really hard, feeling the veins on the side of her head. "I s-see you Kiba, in the tree..."

"Arf! Arf!" "Shhh, Akamaru!" Kiba spoke in the faintest of voices. "Kiba, I know you're in the tree." Hinata said again, and giggled. "If you didn't have your Byakugan, I would've been much more difficult to find." He joked and leaped off the tree branch with Akamaru following shortly after. "Wanna get some food? Or a snack at least..." Kiba continued, scratching the back his head, feeling his stomach rumble. "S-sure." "C'mon Akamaru." He yelled and all 3 dashed to the center of Konohagakure. While Kiba stopped by one of the shops, Hinata took the time to cool off and sat down on a bench, her head laying on the dry wood. All she could see was blurry colors moving around until she saw pitch black...

"Hinata...?" Right now, her eyes were blinking and all she could see was Kiba, right in front of her face. "Hinata? Finally, you're awake!" And he smiled wide, showing his little fangs. "H-huh? How l-long have I... been asleep?" Hinata questioned slowly getting up and scratching her eyes. "Not long, about 5, maybe 10 minutes at most, but I got you a popsicle, I kind of already ate it though, sorry heh, but are you okay? How do you feel?" Kiba said, resting his hand on her forehead. "Yeah, I'm fine Kiba, thank you." Moving away slightly to remove his hand away. Silence. "Sorry Kiba, I j-" and in a flash, Kiba's lips were pressed on Hinata's and brokefree as quick as he had initiated the kiss. Silence. "I'm sorry Hinata, really, I-I just, I didn't-" A smack was heard after about 1 minute of silence, Hinata had slapped Kiba.

Hinata's P.O.V.

I just woke up from what seemed like an hour of slumber, but based on what Kiba said, it was no longer than 10 minutes. His face was 3 inches away from me to be exact and I was terrified he was going to kiss me, but he didn't. Instead, he rested his cold hand on my forehead, but right, I didn't want his comfort and tried pushing him off but I felt guilty for doing that, I know he was only try to be a friend and help. "Sorry Kiba I j-" and before I could finish, he actually did what I didn't want him to do, he did it...he kissed me! It was really quick but for the whole time, to be honest, I didn't completely hate it but that's what made me really upset. What kind of person am I? When we broke free all he could say was "I'm sorry." I know Kiba liked me, but he knew Naruto and I were pretty known around Konoha...it just didn't look and feel right. This is what I was afraid of. I froze and then in an instant, I thought without thinking and slapped him. In front of Akamaru, the people walking by, their children. Everyone. I felt a tear roll down my cheek and before I could even open my eyes to see Kiba's face, I ran off to wherever my delicate legs could carry me, tears dropping to ground as I ran.

Kiba's P.O.V.

I got a popsicle. 2 actually. I was eating it and was planning on sharing 1 with Hinata, but she was out cold, I didn't know when she was going to wake up, so I decided to eat it instead of watching it melt. I saw her sleeping on the bench for a while and went to wake her up since it was getting pretty late outside, so I bent down on the ground, facing her. About 3 inches away from her face to be exact. 3 inches away from her lips. She looked so beautiful and she had definitely grown since I first met her. I'm so lucky to have her as my teammate, 17 and still as shy and gorgeous as before. After a few seconds of shaking her, her eyes started to flutter, 'she's awake, finally!' I thought, and that's exactly what I told her. "Hinata? You're finally awake!" And I was smiling wide. "H-huh? How long have I been asleep?" She stuttered and got up to scratch her eyes. "Not long, about 5 minutes, maybe 10 at the most, I wanted to wait awhile before waking you up, but I got you a Popsicle, I kind of already ate it though, sorry heh, but are you okay? How do you feel?" And I put my hand on her forehead. "Y-yeah I'm fine, Kiba. Thank you." She pushed my hand away. 'Maybe it was cold from the Popsicle'. I got the message. It was quiet for a while, also. "Sorry Kiba I j-" and right then and there I kissed her for 1 second. 1 amazing second, and the only thing that made me pull away was the fact that she felt uncomfortable, especially with her relationship and all with Naruto. I didn't want to make her feel that way, but I still couldn't help to do what I just did. We just sat there. I looked into her lavender eyes and I knew I had really messed up when she wasn't looking into mine. Before anything could get any worse, I attempted to apologize but couldn't quite get the words to come out. "I-I'm sorry, Hinata, r-really I-I just, I didn't-" and before I could even finish, she slapped me. Hard. I could really tell at this point that did something wrong but before I could correct my error, I saw a tear fall from her eye and she scurried off. For the people glancing, they didn't know what was going on. They probably just thought Hinata and I were a couple who just now broke up, but no, it's not like that at all. After a while of staring at where she once was, I got up and ran after her with Akamaru, trying to find what I can fix.

(A/N: Okay wow, it's so short. But hey I really hope you enjoyed this one! Btw Hinata and Naruto are NOT dating. They're not a couple, it just seems that way because they both like each other and everyone knows that so it just appears as if they're dating, so that's why she's so friendly with Kiba at times, it's because 1. they're friends (lol) 2. she just doesn't know how to feel about everything, confused basically. So yeah, she's not what you guys think she is...lol. She's still that innocent girl from Naruto. R&R please!)
