Disclaimers: I don't own Rio but I do own the villain of this story. I don't own: Crexis the purple macaw, Rico the black hawk, Arlene the Scarlet Macaw or Rapper the red macaw. They ALL belong to their original authors'.

Unleashing the monster within.

Jasmine sighed worriedly as she stared up at the plant life above her in order to distract herself from the worry she had felt towards her father. The young blue macaw chick felt like something was wrong with her father and she couldn't shake the feeling of loneliness as she stared into the calm, gentle waters of a pool.

The midnight air was entoxicating as it was hard not to get mixed up in the tensioned atmosphere as every bird living in the jungles of Rio de Jenero. Night was usually a gentle time for all the birds living here as they were to kick back and unwind from their slight struggles from survival. One small blue macaw chick was still up as she stared up to the sky, lost deep within her own mind.

The harsh moonlight was being locked out by the dense trees above her as she stared deeply in the trance inducing pool just at her talons. Jasmine spread out her small wings in order to expend them while she stared at the moonlight. She was basically flightless, she knew that, but somehow she felt like this was different as the air was lighter and flight was the easiest thing in the world.

Even though Jasmine never felt that way, she still felt kind of helpless.

The young female blue macaw jumped a little when she saw another reflection beside her own. "Yikes!" Jasmine cried as her chocolate brown eyes widened and she turned her head towards the intruder but only to find out that it was her best friend, Carlos the Toucan hybrid.

Carlos was the least hyper out of all his siblings and he was the oldest of the pack. He used to be just like his siblings but when she first met him, it was like Carlos' immaturity melted and a more responsible boy was born and took his place. Actually, Jasmine had a little crush on him.

Carlos tilted his head to one side as concern was written all over his beak and face. "Are you alright, Jasmine?"

Jasmine shook her head. It was clear how sad she was because of her father's absence and clearly talking about it wasn't going to help at the very least. As Carlos tried to think of a way to calm the bird of his dreams down, he saw a pretty looking pink flower hanging just above their heads.

The young Toucan flapped his wings and took lightly to the air as he used a judo sweep to slash through the stem that held the flower in place before holding it delicately in his azure blue talons.

When Carlos landed on the branch, he held the flower carefully in his ebony wings and gently placed them in her head feathers to make her look all the more beautiful as he looked into her stunningly charming eyes. "Don't worry, Jazz. If I know you're dad, which I do, then I'm positive that he'll return soon."

Carlos looked down sadly as he stared at his own reflection. His heart dropped for Jasmine but he would have felt the same if his father left for no reason one morning and hadn't returned.

But he wrapped a comforting wings around Jasmine as she began to weep her eyes out. As Carlos rubbed his wing up and down Jasmine's back, he felt her back intense with sobs and the young toucan chick sighed as he used some feather tips to wipe away the tears his crush was crying.

"It's alright, Jazz. Let it all out." He comforted while trying to soothe her. He ignored the fact that his younger brother Manuel stood behind him. "Um, you okay?" He asked awkwardly.

Carlos slowly turned his head to face his brother with wide eyes and Jasmine had done the same thing. It was then that Manuela cleared his throat and announced "Jasmine, you're grandfather called us all the way from the amazon jungles. He said that he'd be willing to take some of the experiments back to the Amazon with him."

The duo nodded and forced smiles as they were happy that some of the experimented birds could live a new, happy life in the sweet lush jungles of the amazon but it was a bittersweet ending as Jasmine still had no idea where her father was located. Nobody knew!

"Um, isn't there something you and Bobby should be doing?" Carlos asked, clearly referring to the fact that he needed to be alone with Jasmine to calm her. Luckily Manuel got the message as he flew away quicker then a bounding rabbit with roller skates "Okay, see you!"

Carlos sighed irritably. His 17 siblings could be very annoying sometimes and he hated that about being one of eighteen children who were usually hyperactive twits. Actually, it made him kind of relieved that he was the single most responsible one. His head perked up in alarm as he heard some mean laughter coming from a familiar source. The young toucan hybrid looked up and saw the usual bullies who picked on Jasmine due to her pteromerhanophobia.

"Hey, oddballs." The leader grinned at Carlos evilly and Jasmine wiped her eye with a wing as she stared at the small group.

"Ronan. What could you want?" Carlos scowled at the yellow macaw adsolent, named Ronan, who marched forwards while glaring at him with a despicible glint in his eye with no sympathy at all. He was supplied with many vines to walk on as he snaked closer to Jasmine and Carlos.

Ronan placed a wing proudly to his own puffed out chest as he glared sadistically at the unlikely couple "I just want to say hi to the flightless freak there and to say 'I'm sorry that you're dad up and left because you're a freak'." This earned a laugh from his posse as Jasmine cried even harder.

Carlos gasped in anger with rage burning in his hazel eyes. How dare he say that Blu left him because of Jasmine's fear! The young toucan hybrid growled angrily and spread his wings out to the side to show just how hostile he was and without any control of his better instincts, a raging Carlos darted aggressively, flapping his ebony wings at a rapid pace, to Ronan and gave him no mercy as he attacked both him and the bullies and they fled instantly at the young toucan's wrath while calling for their mothers.

When Carlos landed on a nearby branch, he flew to console his best friend but she only turned her back against him as she sniffed from the aftermath of Ronan's heartless bullying. "Don't listen to him, Jazz. You're dad left for a darn good reason and he'll come back before you know it." He smiled gently at her as she glanced over her shoulder to cast a small look at him.

It was a sign that Jasmine was calming down even though it was small. Carlos needed her to look at him! It was great!

But it was then that Rico decided to show up as he met both the little chicks with a regretful glance "Guys, I have reason to believe that Blu has been..." He hesitated before the black hawk sighed heavily to get it over with "...Captured by hunters."

"Wait? How!?" Carlos was startled. How on earth did this happen? Blu was way too smart to have been caught by smugglers or hunters of any kind and he should be the one most aware of any kind of illegal activity in the human world. It's no joke he's like a batman for birds except he does his job during the day and he's not rich and stuff.

Arlene the scarlet macaw arrived on the scene as she held up an azure blue feather that looked too familiar for anyone to ignore "Hey, guys. I found Blu's feather on a net nearby. They've got him."

The three birds looked at Jasmine sadly. She was the one missing her father the most. He was basically her second best friend as they shared intellectal smarts beyond any other bird in existence and that was a fact!

Jasmine sighed. She missed her father and her head lifted up in alarm as a loud screech filled pierced the silent air and she took off flapping her tiny wing as fast as she could even if she was flying a low distance near the ground. Carlos, Arlene and Rico took off after her as the young toucan hybrid he yelled "Jasmine! Come back!" But his calling was futile as he flapped his ebony wings faster then the rudder on a motor boat.

As Jasmine followed the sounds, she had a feeling she knew who it was. Her father was in pain and she was going to bring him back with help or without it. Even if it was from Carlos, Rico and Arlene.

A/N: This is the end of a CarlosxJasmine scene. I know that the blue macaw chicks are named Bia, Carla and Tiago but I wouldn't feel right if I called them their real names on an account of my other rio stories so I'm calling them what I originally named them and you might be very surprised of what happens in the future as this is now a non-canon story.

I do have a message to Ricardo the black hawk and Crexis, however.

Rico the black hawk: Hi Rico. I uploaded this chapter and thought you'd like to know that I do read your wonderful chapters and I did get the message about Krelinko or something. His name is hard! XP! Anyways, I will try and do a better picture then last time and a description would be nice. Sorry I'm not reviewing often, though. :(

Crexis the purple macaw: Hi. Thank you for the kind words but unfortunately I still get tummy aches and its sad but I try and stay perky. Nice to hear from you again as well! Wow, is there any game you don't like that I like too coincidently? It's alright, you don't have to read my Sly fanfic's. Anyways are you still working on your Rio thing? I haven't seen it. I can't wait for it though.

Also, don't be surprised if I don't update again for awhile. It's going to be my birthday very soon which I am excited about.

And before you ask, yes. Yes this was taking place at the same time as the last chapter. :)

I will try to update, though. Oh, what am I talking about? Of course I'll update!

Thanks guys!
