Goku sighed. His training was fun, but it began to get dull without a real challenge in a good sparring partner. But then, he felt a powerful presence on Earth, even stronger than Gohan. "Hey, maybe whoever this is wouldn't mind sparring a few rounds!" He thought hopefully, sensing around for the energy source before using instant transmission to teleport to where the source was.
In the mountain groves around Mt. Fuji, Ryu just finished training, wiping sweat from his forehead and sighing. He hadn't had a decent opponent for a while. Peace was a good thing for him, but it did take the challenge out of his life. Suddenly, he felt a powerful presence near him and became alert. An instant later, a man in orange and blue gi with crazy spiky black hair appeared before him. "Hey there! My name's Goku!" He said.
"Greetings. My name is Ryu Hayabusa." Ryu responded politely.
"Awesome! I sensed you training from where I was. You're really strong!" Goku said excitedly.
"I can sense your power as well. You are quite strong yourself." He said.
"Thanks. Care to go a couple rounds? I could use a good sparring partner!" Goku said hopefully.
"I was just hoping for a challenge. Very well, then. But I won't hold back." Ryu agreed, taking his stance.
"It wouldn't be any fun if you did. Let's do this!" Goku said, taking his own stance.
Background music: "I Will Not Bow" by Breaking Benjamin
Ryu took the defensive as Goku flew in, throwing insanely fast punches and kicks, all of which Ryu was able to dodge of block. Eventually, Ryu dodged a kick to the head from Goku by backstepping, getting enough distance for him to jump forward, flipping above Goku and grabbing his head with both hands, landing behind him and throwing the Saiyan over him with the guillotine throw, making sure not to put lethal force behind it. Goku hit the ground hard, getting up and holding his head and neck. But as he did, Ryu had rushed in, throwing two quick punches and jumped, hitting Goku with three back-to-back jumping kicks in mid-air, the last one sending Goku flying into a tree as Ryu hit the ground, but quickly got back to his feet. "Wow, that hurt... You're a lot tougher than you look. I think it's time that I step it up a bit." He said, shouting and powering up to Super Saiyan.
(His power skyrocketed. I'll have to be careful.) Ryu thought to himself. Goku fired a small barrage of ki blasts at Ryu, who began countering with a Ninpo attack. A strange symbol appeared at his feat and an overwhelming energy surrounded him, negating the ki blasts as 4 fireballs appeared. Ryu then threw these at Goku, who tried to fly away and avoid it, but they still managed to hit him with a large explosion, leaving him with some bad first and second degree burns, but was otherwise okay.
"That's was surprising. Never seen a move like that before." He said.
"It's a secret technique." Ryu explained.
"Then let's see some other techniques." Goku said, flying in. He threw another supersonic barrage of attacks, but Ryu still managed to hold them back, although with a bit more effort than before. Goku was far stronger and faster now, but Ryu was still managing to keep up and holding him back. Ryu managed to counter another attack and knock Goku high into the air with a powerful kick. He readied himself to execute a combo when Goku came down to his height, but Goku stopped himself at the tip of the ascension. "Okay, then. I'll show you one of my best techniques. Ka...me...ha...me..." Goku said, pulling back his hands, aiming himself towards Ryu."
"That attack! Could it be?!" Ryu asked himself, noticing an incredible similarity between this attack and one of his own, pulling his own arms back.
"HAAAAAA!" Goku shouted, firing the kamehameha down at the ninja.
"Torn Sky Blast!" Ryu shouted, firing a slightly darker version of almost the same attack. The two massive ki blasts collided, but eventually, Goku's kamehamheha, slowly dominated Ryu's attack. Ryu stopped firing at the last minute and jumped back, VERY narrowly avoiding the attack. But as soon as he did avoid it, Goku was on top of him, throwing a flurry of attacks and managing to do some decent damage, knocking the ninja back, who skidded to a stop on his feet. "Very impressive." Ryu said.
"Thanks. You're doing great, too. You really surprised me with that last attack." Goku admitted.
"Indeed, but it seems we're still both capable of continuing." Ryu said, using a ninpo to restore the damage he had taken and waiting for Goku's next move. The Saiyan rushed in again and threw some more attacks, but once again, after a decent barrage, Ryu countered, delivering another impressive combo and finishing with a quick flurry of blade-like winds, cutting Goku and knocking him back.
"Those techniques of yours sure pack a punch. But I'm still not finished yet." Goku said, going to Super Saiyan God.
Ryu was a bit shocked and taken back by the life force now emanating from Goku. "Unbelievable! The last time I felt a presence like with was from the Greater Fiends or beings on par with the gods." Ryu said.
"Not surprising. That's what this form is. Super Saiyan God." Goku explained. Goku rushed forward in a flash, faster than most humans could see. Ryu saw the next punch coming and blocked it, still managing to hold Goku back, but with significantly more effort than before.
(He's even stronger than before. I'm still stronger for now, but if he keeps doing this, I could be in trouble). Ryu thought, pushing back and delivering another combo, staggering Goku, but it was still incredibly clear the Saiyan could continue. Goku's attacks were beginning to wear him down, but the Dragon Ninja was also far from beaten as well.
The two matched each other incredibly well, Goku clearly having a speed advantage, but Ryu's reflexes allowed him to keep up very well with the Saiyan. Ryu managed to throw a round kick to Goku's head, at which point he cleared a good distance between them. "You're really good, Ryu. I wasn't planning on having to use my strongest form in a fight like this, but if I'm gonna win, I might not have a choice." He said, powering up again, ripping up entire chunks of ground around him, until he became the horribly-named, blue-haired Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan.
"It's about time you ran out of hair colors." Ryu said. Goku rushed in again at even greater speeds and struck even harder than before, but to even his own surprise, Ryu found he was still quite a bit stronger than Goku was. Goku's attacks were once again much faster, but Ryu still managed to keep up with them, even managing to grab Goku, toss him into the air again, but this time, he also fired the Torn Sky Blast, hitting Goku and doing great damage to the airborne Saiyan, preventing him from recovering in mid-air and allowing Ryu to land another decently long and powerful combo, knocking Goku back once again.
"It's all or nothing with this one!" Goku said, getting up and preparing another kamehameha, but Ryu had a similar feeling with his next Ninpo attack.
"Enough!" He said, executing it and freezing time. Knowing he had to work quickly, Ryu rushed in and targeted Goku's pressure points, time restarting just as he finished and Goku having a small muscle spasm before Ryu delivered a kick to the chin that sent him airborne, the ninja jumping up after him, grabbing him in mid-air, spinning and slamming Goku head-first into the ground with almost lethal force with his most deadly grapple, the Izuna Drop. Goku panted heavily, laying on the ground in pain, movement coming back to him at an agonizingly slow rate. Ryu then walked into his line of sight. "It's over." He said, preparing another Ninpo.
Goku closed his eyes tightly, thinking Ryu planned to finish him off, but to his surprise, a wave of energy washed over him and he managed to get up, still feeling the weight of his injuries, but he was perfectly fine. "Hey, thanks!" He said happily.
"I should be thanking you. That was truly a test of my skills without a weapon. You are one of the most powerful beings I've ever fought before." Ryu said.
Goku was slightly disappointed at this. "Aww, only ONE of the most powerful? I was hoping to be at the top of that list. Who's above me?" He asked.
Ryu smirked at this. "Gods." He answered.
"Whoa... That's impressive. It makes my place on that list feel better, too." He said.
"If you continue training like you have, you may very well top it. And if it makes you feel better, I NEEDED weapons in order to beat them." Ryu said.
"It does. I'll be sure to keep training! I hope we meet again, Ryu! Maybe we can spar again sometime! But next time, I'm willing to bet the outcome will be different!" Goku said excitedly, teleporting away with instant transmission.
Ryu chuckled a bit at this. "It may very well be. I'll have to keep up my training if I don't want that to happen." He said.
OH, MY GODS, that was epic! Analysis:
We're going to compare stats here rather than my normal listed reasons.
Ryu's strength: Ryu blocked a downward strike from the goddess, who moments before he blocked her attacks destroyed a skyscraper even taller than her with one shot. the goddess probably weighed at least 5000 tons and the sword strike came from above her head in a second and came down at about 50 feet per second. She also leaned into the strike after Ryu blocked it. The sword she used likely weighed about 1000 tons. The mere act of holding up the sword means Ryu can lift and hold up to 1000 tons. a 1000 ton sword, held by a 1000 ton arm, dropping at 50 feet per second, which is 50 km/h, that's at least 100,000 to a million tons BEFORE factoring in the goddess' total weight. We roughly estimated Ryu's strength to be 240 million tons, assuming that the goddess is also made from some form of rock or mineral and her head appears to be metal, as well as having her own supernatural strength. Also, the goddess was able to consume the energy of nukes launched at her, yet Ryu was able to cut her down with one attack, meaning his attacks are stronger than NUKES.
Goku's strength: Goku was training on King Kai's planet, which has gravity 10 times greater than Earth's with 40 ton weights strapped to each limb. With the increase in gravity, that's 400 tons on each limb.
Super Saiyan multiplies base form times 50
Super Saiyan 2 multiplies Super Saiyan 1 by 2
Super Saiyan 3 multiplies Super Saiyan 2 by 4
We're estimating Super Saiyan God to be about 10 times stronger than SS3
And finally, it's safe to assume Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan is 50 times stronger than Super Saiyan God.
400 X 50= 20,000
20,000 X 2= 40,000
40,000 X 4= 160,000
160,000 X 10= 1,600,000
1,600,000 X 50= 80,000,000
Ryu is at least 3 times stronger than Goku in his highest form.
Ryu's Speed: He is fast enough run on walls, which requires AT MINIMUM 400 miles per hour. He is also capable of outrunning missiles and the following explosions. An explosion's detonation can reach up to 2,000 meters per second, translation: 4,470 miles per hour, which is slightly faster than MACH 5. Also, Ryu has on more than one occasion dodged laser attacks at near point blank range, meaning his reflexes are also at light speed.
Goku's speed: Goku flew to the other end of planet Namek in 5 seconds. We're going to assume Namek is somewhat comparable to Earth. Earth's circumference is 40,075km (or 24,901 miles). Light speed is 186,000 miles per second, translating into 669,600,000 miles per hour. Holy shit. It takes .1338763 seconds for light to circle the Earth. Goku circle half of Namek, about 20,037km (12,450 miles) in 5 seconds. That's 2490 mi/s, 240,000 km/min, 14,400,000 hm/h, 8,964,000 mph, which is at least mach 12,805. To prevent people from downplaying this fact: we're gonna look at the blast Gohan used to kill Cell: it traveled about the distance of Earth's atmosphere, 12,000 km., in about 6 seconds. That's about 2,000 km/sec or 1242.74 miles per second: about a 150th the speed of light at mach 5886. Another great comparison is that he's faster than Gotenks, who circled the earth 5 times in what looked like 6 seconds in the anime, appearing to be 1 second in the manga. The Earth's circumference x10 is 249,010 light is 186,000 miles per second, so 249,010/186,000=1.33876344, meaning Gotenks is 1.3 time the speed of light. however, we later find out from Piccolo he wasted a large amount of time, only having a minute left in his fusion, ght is 1which means it probably took about 20 minutes, meaning 14,450 miles per minute and 847,030 mph, mach 1067, but forums generally list him as mach 32,000, which is 392,001,408,000, a little over half the speed of light. Goku's has never been shown to have light speed reflexes, so they are probably about as fast as him.
Goku takes the speed advantage, but Ryu's reflexes are enough for him to contend with the speed advantage. Also, Ryu has faced a decent number of enemies faster than himself in the past and has defeated them.
Ryu's durability: Ryu is incredibly durable, surviving things that no other human ever could. He has been sliced in half from shoulder to hip shortly after having been impaled, getting grabbed and crushed by titanic fiends that he barely fit into the hand of, walking through lava, brutal battles with god-level beings that, as shown by cutscenes, he had clearly been injured during, surviving the Archfiend exploding, which destroyed the top of Mt. Fuji while he was gravely injured and completely exhausted, yet came out completely fine with no visible injury, being caught in an explosion and buried under rubble, fighting a number of mutated monsters while the floor was covered in acid and The Grip of Murder, a curse placed upon him in which the thousands of souls he's killed with the Dragon Sword slowly kill him from the inside. The explosion of Mt. Fuji while he was already badly injured and exhausted puts him on at least island level, meaning it takes something that would destroy an island to kill him.
Goku's durability: Goku is very durable, but nowhere near as durable as most people believe. He's incredibly resistant to blunt force trauma and he can deflect ki-based planet busting attacks from weaker characters than him. However, he always runs when the planet he's on is about to blow up. It's always implied and even stated the blast will kill him. Even if it doesn't, he cannot breathe in space and would die. However, to CONFIRM he cannot survive planet explosions, in the newest Dragon Ball movie: Ressurection of F, Frieza destroys the Earth to prevent Vegeta from finishing him off. This killed Vegeta, who was in the newest and most powerful form so far: Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan. We're going to assume that he was once again on par with Goku by reaching this form and he was killed, Goku only surviving because he and another small group was close enough to Whis, who created a barrier that protected them from the planet's destruction. Also, again while in this form, Goku was easily brought down by a weak beam attack from Frieza's last remaining soldier, Sorbet, only surviving because Krilling quickly gave him a senzu bean. Also, Goku and have been injured PLENTY of times by attacks that aren't even building busters. Also, many DBZ characters have been inured and have bled from being thrown into the ground or large rocks. Also, Goku almost died of a heart disease, so he's vulnerable to sickness and such as well. While ki users are highly resistant to physical damage, they sure as hell aren't immune to it. In closing, if it's an actual injury that could kill a human (ex. Internal injuries, broken bones, disease, etc), we can assume it would kill Goku. On regular terms, we're putting him on about mountain level: if it can destroy a mountain, it can probably kill Goku, definitely severely inure him. Also, we all know Goku has VERY poor resistance to heat, as lava and steam have been shown to hurt him and several characters have died from being blasted into the sun.
It's closer, but once again, Ryu takes this category.
Destructive force: Goku obviously takes this one, as his attacks are capable of destroying planets. Ryu's attacks are devastating, but nowhere near the same scale, as his attacks obliterate things up to the size of a helicopter, but never usually things much bigger than that. Although Ryu's Ninpo is both more diverse than Goku's ki and he has fire ninpo that could do some serious damage to Goku, this was a sparring match. They weren't trying to kill or seriously injure each other. Ryu may have used a fire attack ONCE, but if he saw how much damage it did to Goku, he likely wouldn't do it a second time.
Skill is where the two are the closest, both being masters of multiple martial arts and have both won martial arts tournaments in the past, but Ryu's physical advantages helped him push past Goku with their skills being as close as they are. And finally, we take into account Ryu's Ninpo: essentially, it is very similar to Goku's ki attacks, being able to use them just about as often (the ninpo limit was a game mechanic, similar to games giving Goku such low ki limits) and, in addition to being more powerful than Goku's weaker attacks, they give Ryu access to Goku's biggest weaknesses. The time stop was Ryu's greatest advantage, allowing him to completely take advantage of Goku being open and vulnerable.
