Chapter 5 - Land of waves I
It has been about three weeks since Team 7 completed the bell test. The Uchiha Coup d'etat really threw off the teams schedule, Team 7 was tired of constantly getting d-ranked missions. Jiraiya would continue to train Naruto and filled in for Shisui when he was busy dealing with secret matters. Today, Shisui was relieved of all his other responsibilities leaving him only in charge of his genin team.
-Walking to the Hokage's office-
"Alrighty kiddos, we are going to get another mission shortly. I hope you all had fun on the last one!" - said Shisui, with an enthusiastic smile on his face
"No, Shisui-sensei! We did not have fun catching that damn cat! If old man doesn't give us an important mission I promise you I am going to kick his-" said Naruto before getting interrupted
"Naruto-kun, we are all mad about getting these low-ranking missions. But it's literally okay, the more missions we do, the more we'll be able to get more high ranking mission!" - explained Hinato
Naruto would put his hand on Hinata's arm and shake his head, "Hinata you need to understand we are not the ordinary genin in Konohagakure, we should be on special missions"
"Yea, Hinata! Naruto is right, we are very advanced for our age" - said Sasuke
Shisui would let a chuckle before saying, "You kids are way too much, considering you guys are very advanced I will ask the Hokage to bump up our mission to a c-rank which is usually like escorts. Sounds like a plan? - asked Shisui
"Sweet! That sounds fantastic" - said all three of the genin
-In the Hokages Office-
"Hokage-sama, my team has completed all of their missions you've assigned to them. We have received our paychecks for this week. We are ready for the next mission" - said Shisui, slighting bowing towards the elderly Hokage
"Ah, yes. Now let's see I have a bunch of missing cats, gardening, and fenc-" said the Hokage, before getting interrupted
Naruto would raise his brow and say "Listen here old man, we want a "real mission" something where we can show our powers and use the Jutsus that ero-sennin made me spend 6+ years on"
Iruka jumped up angry about Naruto's tone and said "How dare you! You're just a brand new genin with no experiences, like everyone you start with simple missions to develop your skills and prove yourself"
"Listen, many different kinds of request come into our village everyday. From babysitting to assassinations, these request are carefully recorded and analyzed then ranked A,B,C or D." - explained Hiruzen
"With all due respect, Naruto, Sasuke and Hinata are not normal genin. Naruto single handedly took down one of our very own chunin, Sasuke was able to make me break a sweat when we were fighting, and Hinata is the heir to the Hyuga clan and a master of the gentle fist techniques. They are stronger then the Lengendary Sannin when they were this age" Shisui bragged
"Hm, if Shisui recommends we give them a more complex mission we shall do it" - relented the elderly Hokage
"Thats right old man! Stop underestimating my abilities!" - thought Naruto
"Send in the client that Team 7 will be protecting!" - Hiruzen commanded
A drunk, and aging man with shaggy grey hair, thick glasses, and dark, watchful eyes. His beard is well-maintained and he wears a sleeveless V-neck shirt with an obi, pants, and sandals. He also carries a towel on his shoulder and wears a tall, pointed hat atop his head. enters the room.
"What the hell?! A bunch of little snot nosed kids? And you the little one you really expect me to believe you're really a ninja" - said Tazuna
"And who the hell do you think you are?! I will really put you in a body bag right here and now!" - Naruto hissed
Shisui exhaled and said "Ah shut up will you! You cannot harm the client"
"This is team 7, headed by Shisui Uchiha. He is a very splendid shinobi, I am positive you will not have any trouble with his team." - said Hiruzen
"We accept your mission, Hokage-sama. My team and I will depart tomorrow morning" - Shisui declared
Team 7, left the hokages office either using the teleportation jutsu or the Flying Thunder God technique. They were all excited to finally have a C-ranked mission and they hoped it would be action-packed.
-Some distance from Konoha (The next day)-
Sasuke would be jumping around in excitement, finally being able to leave Konoha for missions. He used to go on quick walks outside the village with his dad and that was the only time he left the village.
As Team 7 left the Hokage's office, they couldn't contain their excitement about finally receiving a C-ranked mission. They knew that it would be a big step up from their previous D-ranked missions and they couldn't wait to prove themselves.
As they walked through the village, they couldn't help but notice the admiring glances of the other ninjas. They were quickly becoming known as one of the strongest teams of genin in the village and everyone wanted to see them in action.
As they approached their designated meeting place, they spotted their client, Tazuna, waiting for them. He was a middle-aged man, dressed in worn clothes and carrying a small carpet bag. He looked tired and beaten down, and Naruto couldn't help but feel a pang of sympathy for the man.
"Ah, Team 7. I see you've arrived," Tazuna muttered. "Let's get this over with then."
Shisui turned to his team and gave them a firm look. "Remember, we are here to protect this man at all costs. Don't let your emotions get in the way and do not engage in combat unless it is absolutely necessary. Understood?"
The team nodded in agreement, knowing the stakes were high and that they couldn't afford to mess up. They quickly set to work, reviewing their mission and making sure they had all the necessary equipment.
"You, Uchiha Shisui, why does this kid have to be the one protecting me" - asked Tazuna
"Huh!? Do you think I am anything like Naruto?" asked Sasuke revealing his three tomoe Sharingan "I would advise you to think again"
"Calm down you two, I am a Jounin and both Naruto and Sasuke are with me. Please do not worry, we will protect you trust me"
It was a sunny day in Konoha, the birds were singing and the wind was just right. It hadn't rained in days, so when Shisui noticed two puddles he knew something was up. He continued to walk, as he continued to walk the puddles suddenly disappeared and so did Naruto.
"Futon: Rasengan!" yelled Naruto as he rushed towards the masked Kiriagakure Shinobi, landing a fatal blow on one of the Ninja.
"Chidori" shouted Sasuke as he severed the other Kiriagakure Shinobi's arm. "Well, well I am glad you noticed Naruto!"
"These are two Kiriagakure ninja's, why would they be attacking us?" Shisui thought, "Why are you two here?" - Shisui asked before the two ninja did the tiger seal revealing they had paper bombs under their vest.
"They just killed themselves, which means they were on a top secret mission" - Hinata added.
"Tazuna, I think we should turn back. This mission seems to be far greater then the genin level. We thought bandits wanted you dead, not literally missing ninjas." - Shisui said with a stern voice
"Well I am low on money, I need urgent help to continue building the bridge. If I don't build this bridge it will be over for my village!" - exclaimed Tazuna
"Shisui-sensei, we shouldn't abandon our mission. Those ninja's were nothing we couldn't handle, I understand this guy's reasoning and it would make me feel horrible knowing we could've helped and he got killed" - Naruto said looking at the bits and pieces of the ninja's who blew themselves up.
"Naruto is right, Shisui-sensei you said it yourself we aren't ordinary Genin" - Hinata added
"Alright then, let us continue. But the moment it gets challenging we are going to request backup." Shisui said with a disappointed tone
"Naruto, thanks for accepting this mission. I know it's not the most glamorous job, but this bridge is very important for the success of the village, and I can't thank you enough for taking it on." - said Tazuna
"No problem, Tazuna-sama. I don't mind helping out. Besides, it's an opportunity to prove myself as a shinobi."
"I have no doubt you'll do a great job. From what I've heard, you're a hard worker and a skilled fighter. But please be careful out there. These men are dangerous and will not hesitate to hurt us if given the chance." - Tazuna begged
"Don't worry, I won't let anything happen to you. I'll do everything in my power to keep you safe."
"I appreciate that, Naruto. I also want to warn you that these men are known for using underhanded tactics, so be vigilant at all times. We can't afford to let our guard down." - Tazuna added
To which Naruto replied "I understand, sir. I'll stay focused and do everything it takes to complete this mission."
-Hiruzen's Office-
"Come on in" - said Hiruzen activating the privacy seals in his office "To what do I owe this visit from my two strongest shinobi"
"Hokage-sama, Jiraiya-sama, and I have been doing some intelligence gathering. We have reason to believe Orochimaru is going to attack soon" - said Itachi
"We need to start planning for an invasion as he has been making frequent visits to Kiriagakure and Sunagakure" - Jiraiya added
"So you believe, that my student is going to betray me once again? And how big will this invasion be? - said Hiruzen
"What do you mean "Again" Hokage-sama" - Itachi asked
"I don't think that's any of your concern" - Hiruzen said bowing his head in shame
"Just tell him, or I will" Jiraiya said, with a stern look on his face
"Long ago, I caught Orochimaru conducting human experiments. I could've killed him right there but I let him go." - Hiruzen answered
"You better hope he has the same amount of empathy that you have, which I know he doesn't" - Jiraiya scolded
Hiruzen would release the privacy scroll and motion for the anbu to come in
"Effective immediately I hereby make Jiraiya of the Legendary Sannin the Anbu Commander alongside Uchiha Itachi. Gather a threat analysis of the situation at hand. Go!"
-Team 7-
It has been almost two days since the journey to the land of waves. They finally were close by and could see the village Tazuna was residing in. Since the minor infraction with the Kirigakure shinobis, the mission was going smoothly.
"Ugh, when we get back to the village I am going to tell the Hokage how boring this god damn mission was" - said Naruto
"I know there has been no action" - Hinata added
"Maybe because this was meant to be an escort mission?! I don't know you tell me" - Sasuke jokingly said
As they pulled into the boat port, Tazuna noticed the village was very quiet.. Quieter than usual. "I have a daughter and a grandson, usually they would greet me." - said Tazuna
"What the hell is going on" thought Hinata "I will use my Byukugan to see if they are in the house or anywhere near here"
"There is nothing" - said Hinata in a worried tone
"Shadow Clone Jutsu" as thirty clones begin to appear he asked, "Tazuna if there were any pictures his clones could use to locate your family members?"
"Naruto, use the pictures inside the house. We have to find them, let me create about 10 clones to accompany some of your clones. I can be your eyes" - Sasuke added
"Shadow Clones Jutsu!" Hinata exclaimed "You aren't the only one with special eyes that can help Naruto!" - said Hinata with a jealous tone
"Look here, it's a note from someone named.. Gato?" - Shisui shared
"Ah Gato, is a local businessman. He is a very wealthy man, he often hires rouge Ninja when people are defiant" - Tazuna explained
"Oh crap, so now we have a kidnapping and an attempted assassination. I will have to request some assistance from the Hokage they will most likely send another genin team." - said Shisui summoning a hawk
"Send for Team 3, we have collaborated with them multiple times" - asked Hinata
"It seems we're in for a fight" - added Sasuke
"It will take them two days to get here, I can just go teleport to the Village and quickly get them" - Naruto suggested
"Sounds like a plan, go with this hawk. Make sure to give this to the Hokage" - ordered Shisui
-Gato's Office-
"It seems the Chunin you sent failed the assassination, We have to stop that bridge from being built" - said Gato
"We have the bridge builders family, we won't return them until the Bridge builder is dead or stop building the bridge" - said Zabuza
"I will give you 500 Million Ryo if you successfully complete this mission" - said Gato
"You better give me my money when this is over or I'll kill you" - said Zabuza raising his killing intent
-Hokages Office-
"Naruto! What are you doing back here so soon." - asked the elderly Hokage
"Read this, old man. We are going to be needing Team 3" - said Naruto, giving the Hokage the hawk which Shisui gave him
"I see you guys ran into some trouble, you can go collect Team 3. I will create a Shadow clone and take it to the Ramen shop where Team 3 is meeting" - commanded the Hokage
"At once, old man!"
-Ramen Shop-
"You guys are going for a mission, I see you guys still have your gear so you guys can leave now. Naruto will be using his flying thunder god to teleport you guys where the mission is. You guys will be assisting Team Shisui, good luck!" - ordered the 3rds Shadow Clone before disbursing
"Alright! Now give me your hand. I will have to make two trips since there is four of you. But I will teleport Neji and Guy-Sensei first!" - said Naruto
"Understood," said all four Shinobis
"HIRAISHIN NO JUTSU!" - said Naruto, teleporting Neji and Might guy to the scene
"Alright, Ten-ten and rock-lee! You are next" said Naruto, grabbing their hands.
"HIRAISHIN NO JUTSU!" said Naruto, finally teleporting the entire team to the scene
-Land of waves-
"To begin, I left out a little bit when I requested Backup. We've sent a bunch of clones to look for our clients kids. We need you guys to do a separate mission meanwhile we protect this client" - explained Shisui
"Wellll, We can do that for sure. We'll follow your teams clones and we'll locate the family. Once we are done we will join you once again" - said Guy
"Sounds like a plan! Let's go" - Naruto's clone instructed
"Hai!" - said Team guy and Team 7's shadow clones
As Team Guy and Team 7's shadow clones prepared to go on their respective missions, the members of both teams felt a sense of excitement and anticipation. The members of Team Guy had never worked with a team of such a prestigious reputation as Team 7, and they were thrilled at the prospect of learning from and potentially serving alongside them in the future.
Team 7, on the other hand, was eager to prove themselves and demonstrate their ability to work effectively as a team. They had each had plenty of experience in their own respective villages, but this was the first time they would be working together as a unit.
"Let's not waste any more time," said the member of Team 7, "We have to act quickly to ensure the clients children are found!"
Team Guy and Team 7's shadow clones each split off in their own respective directions, with Team Guy heading east and Team 7 heading west.
As the clones ran through the forest, they used their enhanced senses and incredible speed to search for any signs of the missing family members. They sniffed the ground, listened for any sounds, and kept their eyes peeled for any clues.
The members of Team Guy were particularly effective at this, using their mastery of tracking and tracking technique to follow any scent trail left behind by the missing family members. They knew that it was vital to find them quickly, as the missing family members had been gone for several days and could be in danger.
Team 7, on the other hand, focused on using their enhanced senses and ninjutsu to cover as much ground as possible. They used their chakra to power their sensors, which allowed them to scan the area for any signs of motion.
Both teams were highly skilled and efficient in their respective methods, and they were soon able to find evidence that the missing family members were nearby. They tracked down various clues, including a pair of abandoned shoes, a dropped book, and a piece of fabric from a torn shirt.
As they followed the trail together, they began to work even more cohesively than before. They communicated with each other constantly, providing updates and sharing any new information they had found. They were an impressive team, and it was obvious that they were all incredibly skilled ninja.
As Team Guy cautiously made their way through the dense forest, they could sense the tension in the air. They could hear the distant sound of voices and laughter coming from the direction of Gato's fortress, and they knew they had to be on high alert. Suddenly, one of the guards on lookout duty spotted them and yelled out a warning to his companions.
