"So I kissed Alex." Seth told me after we got to school. "I kissed a girl for the first time in months."

"It's not some major accomplishment." I remarked. Though, it could be argued that for Seth it was.

"So, what are you going to do with Kaitlin next?" He asked.

"I don't know things are a little bit sense between us after the double date." I explained. It was why for once she was not with me.

"Hi, Samantha." An Asian girl with blonde hair interrupted. At first, I didn't recognize her, but then I realized that I recognized her voice.

"Hi, Tina." I responded. "You changed your hair."

"Yes, I did and thanks for noticing." She declared.

"So, Tina that whole asking you out last week thing was a joke." Seth replied. "I'm glad you got it because you were laughing."

"Right." Tina remarked. At least he wasn't calling her the Wu anymore. "Are you going to the dance this week?"

"Yeah, Kaitlin and I will probably be there." I answered.

"Well I guess I'll see you there." She said before she walked away from us. I couldn't help but notice that she seemed like she was suggestively moving hips as she walked, but it was probably nothing.

"I forgot all about the winter dance." I admitted.

"Well I'm going to take Alex and you can take Kaitlin and we can have the double date we're supposed to have." He offered.

"I think I want to stay away from the whole double date thing." I declared. "Besides, how do you know that Alex will even want to go with you? I don't really think school dances are really her thing. Not to mention, we don't have the best track record with parties. Something always seems to go wrong."

"Well maybe it's my turn to do some of that." He suggested.

"You're not the type to get in fights." I pointed out.

"Well you're not the type to get nervous at social gatherings." He replied. What was he talking about? I was always nervous at social gatherings. I also would have to find a dress. I wasn't entirely sure what to wear to a school dance. Also, what kind of a name was SnoC?

We then went inside and met up with everyone: Marissa, Kaitlin, Summer, Holly, and Zach. I wasn't sure if Zach was going to be a permanent member of our group or if he was just around because he was dating Holly. I guess we would have to see if Zach and Holly ever broke up.

"So, Seth, you still haven't bought your SnoC tickets yet, so can I put you down for two?" Marissa asked.

"What about me?" I asked.

"I already got it covered." Kaitlin said before she gave me a kiss.

"I don't know if Seth should get more than one ticket before he knows if he has a date." I remarked.

"Yeah cause we all know that Seth doesn't have a girlfriend." Holly quipped.

"As a matter of fact, I made out with Alex." Seth replied.

"Right…" Holly responded.

"I should probably get to class." Zach stated as he left. I didn't think he was going to stick around if he and Holly broke up.

I went to class and took a seat next to Kaitlin. I wished she had talked to me before buying the tickets.

"Are you excited about the dance?" She questioned.

"I don't know if I want to go." I admitted.

"What?" She asked. "Why?"

"I just don't do well at those things and it seems like something always goes wrong." I pointed out. I didn't like our track record.

"I think you'll have a good time." She offered. "It's not like my mom is going to be there or anything. Summer thinks Marissa should take Hannah."

"Hannah as in your maid, Hannah?" I asked.

"She's not our maid anymore." She explained.

"Does your mom know about it?" I questioned.

"No." She answered. "I don't think Marissa is going to bring her anyway."

Later, Kaitlin and I ran into Zach in the lounge.

"So where am I supposed to get a ticket to this SnoC thing anyway?" He asked.

"I don't know." I responded. "Didn't Marissa tell you? Are you going with Holly?"

"That's a given." He said. "Though, there is the issue of your brother."

"I don't think Seth is going to ask her." Kaitlin declared.

"He doesn't have to. Somehow the night is going to end up about them." He stated.

"Well that always happens with Seth." I pointed out. "Though, I think Seth is finally ready to move on. Seth is focusing on a new girl now."

"So, he's over Holly?" Zach asked.

"I believe so." I answered as I took my drink and gave Kaitlin hers. "Seth wants to be over Holly."

He didn't seem to like that answer and walked away.

"Are you sure you want to go?" I asked Kaitlin.

The following day, Seth and I went to school, this time with Kaitlin.

"Would either of you be offended if I asked if all women are crazy?" He questioned.

"Probably." I answered.

"It makes no sense. First Alex kisses me and then she turns around and kisses Homer." He explained.

"Homer Simpson?" Kaitlin replied.

"He was pretty close." Seth declared. "He was bald, fat and he was delivering beer. Then she kissed Mandy."

"Was Mandy hot?" Kaitlin asked him. I glared at her.

"I couldn't even enjoy it. I was so consumed by my inability to comprehend the female gender." He stated.

"You'll never understand women unless you become one." I declared. For once I had an idea for something fun. "Maybe you should wear a dress to the dance."

"No, no, no." He responded. "You are all crazy, aren't you?"

"I'm only crazy in bed." Kaitlin said before giggling.

"Women are so crazy, I wouldn't be surprised if next time I see you, Alex is dragging me to the storeroom." He added.

"I don't think so." I replied.

At that point, we noticed Marissa was struggling with some boxes.

"Do you need some help?" Seth asked.

"Sure." Marissa answered. Seth then handed the box to Kaitlin.

"Kaitlin, help your sister out. I've got class." He declared before he walked off.

"What can I do?" I inquired.

"In my car is a penguin." She replied.

"A penguin?" Kaitlin repeated.

I then found myself carrying a giant penguin that was probably bigger than me. It was a good thing it was hollow.

After a brief instance of me chasing her with the penguin, we headed to the room. I also noticed that Tina was on the decorating committee. I never knew that.

"So, you two are going to be there, right?" Marissa asked.

"Is Hannah coming with you?" I questioned.

"No." Marissa answered. "Our relationship is too casual for something like this."

"And my mom caught them making out." Kaitlin added.

"I'm not sure I want to go because I feel something will go wrong." I explained.

"Well I don't want to go and I'm throwing it." Marissa explained. "Maybe I could tag along with the two. It would be like old times."

"As far as I remember, those weren't the best of times." I pointed out. "How about you go with Seth, as friends of course. He doesn't have a date, either."

On my way to class, I was pretty sure that I noticed Seth talking to Summer. I wondered if he was asking her to the dance. It would be weird seeing the two of them together again.

After school, I decided to go shopping for a dress. Since I really wanted to find clothes by myself, I didn't bring Kaitlin with me. I was normally bad at shopping, but I wanted to get better. I just wished that weren't so many. I was both glad and not glad that it wasn't a formal. If it was a formal, I would at least know what kind of dress to get. Since it wasn't, I really didn't have any idea.

"Hi, Sam." Tina greeted me at the desk. How did that girl find time for a part-time job with all of the extracurriculars she was doing? I also wished that she had gotten my name right. Of course she didn't know me.

"Don't call me Sam." I replied. "It's Samantha or Sammie, but not Sam."

"Well, Miss Cohen, you look like you need some help." She stated.

"Is it that obvious?" I asked.

"Yes." She answered bluntly. "Fortunately for you, it's my job to provide you assistance."

"Well, I don't even know what kind of dress to get." I stated. I couldn't believe that it was already winter. Last year seemed like it was a lot slower.

"Well you are looking for a semi-formal dress and the school doesn't want you showing any cleavage." She explained. I didn't really have cleavage. She then started to look through the racks before she pulled out a red sleeveless dress. "Try this on."

I went to the dressing room and put the dress on. I realized that I was more comfortable wearing it when I took my bra off, so I left it in the dressing room with the rest of my clothes.

"Look at you looking sexy." She gushed. I couldn't help but blush a little. "You're going to be the hottest girl at the dance looking like that."

"You don't have to inflate my ego." I told her.

"I'm not saying it to inflate your ego. I'm saying it because it's going to be true." She remarked. That made me blush more.

I couldn't help but wonder what Kaitlin was going to wear. I also wondered that since it was supposed to have a winter theme that maybe I should get something with sleeves. Of course, that would mean trying on something else, which I didn't really want to do. I went back into the dressing room and put my clothes back on.

"I'll take it." I declared before I left the store.

That night, I was eating Chinese with Seth and Kaitlin and Captain Oats. Kaitlin was telling us about what happened with Marissa.

"So my mom walks in and there's Marissa topless on top of Hannah." Kaitlin explained.

"You realize I'm trying to have dinner, don't you?" I questioned. "Why was Marissa at home in the middle of the day anyway?"

"I don't know." Kaitlin replied.

"Well it could be been worse." Seth pointed out. "It could have been Caleb that walked in on them."

He was right. That would have definitely been worse. That was probably the worst thing that could have happened. It still didn't explain why Marissa was at her house having sex during school hours. When you're skipping school, the last place you want to be is at home.

The following night, I was getting ready for the dance. In addition to my dress, I wore red heels and snowflake earrings. It wasn't until that point that I thought I should be wearing a wintrier color, but it was too late. My hair was braid in a French braid and draped over my shoulder. I had a strange feeling that such a style would be big in a few years. I went into the living room and noticed that Seth was not dressed.

"What are you doing?" I asked.

"I'm watching a Kung Fu movie." Seth explained.

"Well Marissa isn't going with anyone, so you could tag along with her." I told him.

"That is how lame I have become." He groaned. "I don't want to be the guy that goes with someone as friends."

"Did you really think Alex would go with you?" I challenged. "Like I said, school dances don't seem like her thing."

"Whoa, look at you. You look beautiful." Dad told me as he walked into the room. "Kaitlin's a lucky girl."

I couldn't help but blush. Were people conspiring to make me blush or something?

"Seth, why aren't you dressed?" Mom asked as she too entered the room.

"Yeah, you're going to be late for the party." Dad added as I put my hands on my hips.

"Haven't you heard? He's going to the Seth Cohen pity party." I stated.

"Do you think you can take this conversation elsewhere? Bruce Lee is about to hit someone." Seth said. "It's kind of a big deal."

"You know this looks like a movie I'd enjoy." Dad responded as he sat on the couch.

"Me too." Mom remarked as she sat beside him. They were geniuses. Seth lasted about a minute before he got up and went to get dressed.

"That was good." I declared.

"Never underestimate a parent's ability to mortify his child." Dad said. I just hoped that they didn't have any plans to mortify me.

We then went next to pick Kaitlin and Marissa. However, I couldn't help but notice that there was someone else getting ready for the dance with them.

"Hello, Holly." Seth greeted her.

"Are you fucking kidding me?" Holly inquired before she walked past us.

"Where's Zach?" Seth asked.

I didn't anticipate how awkward the car ride there would be. It probably wasn't the best idea to have Seth and Holly in the same vehicle.

"You know I'm surprised that between the three of us none of us could get a real date." Seth said. "It's like we're the biggest losers in Newport Beach."

"No, that's just you." Holly quipped.

"I'm sorry is Zach in here? Zachary?" Seth asked.

"At least he didn't kiss two people in front of me." Holly retorted. I didn't know she had told him that.

"Who did that?" Marissa asked. I kind of wished that I had one of those screens to filter out the noise. Then I would be able to only hear Kaitlin

"Zach's new girlfriend." Holly said.

"She kissed two guys in front of you?" Marissa replied. I wasn't sure if that would be more embarrassing.

"Actually, it was a guy and a girl." Kaitlin piped in. I wasn't sure why she had to encourage them.

"Summer didn't tell me it was a girl." Holly replied. She probably shouldn't have told her anything at all.

"Hey look, we're here." I stated.

Once we were inside, I took the opportunity to fully take Kaitlin in. She was a lilac lace dress with a matching choker and heels and her hair was in a more traditional braid.

"Your hair looks kind of silly." She commented.

"Shut up. This is going to be the new style." I argued. We then walked inside the main part and I was impressed. It looked amazing.

"Marissa…" Kaitlin stated before she looked around in awe.

"Is it okay?" The older Cooper asked.

"This is beautiful." I declared. "I can't believe you did all of this."

"It looks like when Mr. Freeze attacked the Gotham City Ball." Seth declared. Why was he comparing it to such a bad movie? "Which is a compliment, by the way."

"I'm just glad that people showed up and they're actually dancing." Marissa commented.

"We should probably go do that." I said as I took Kaitlin to the floor. Part of me wished that Marissa had someone to dance with. I wasn't going to dance with her though.

"My parents are looking at us." Kaitlin said as we began to move to the music together.

"It's a little strange that your dad is here chaperoning." I commented.

"Better him than my stepdad/your grandfather." She countered. Even if he wasn't on trial, Caleb being at a school dance would just be awkward.

"So, since when does the school have a radio station?" I asked as I noticed the guys over at a table with radio equipment.

"They've always had a radio station. You've just never noticed before." Kaitlin explained.

I looked over my shoulder and I noticed that Seth and Holly were dancing together.

"Do you think those two will ever get back together?" I questioned.

"Maybe." Kaitlin replied. "I'm not sure if I'm rooting for them or not."

After the song was done, we left the dance floor to go to the punch bowl,

"Hey guys." Tina greeted us before looking at me specifically. "I was right. You are the most beautiful girl at the dance."

"What are you talking about?" Kaitlin asked.

"I told her when I sold her dress to her." Tina explained.

"You didn't say that she worked at the dress store." Kaitlin remarked.

"Did I need to?" I asked. "Let's go outside."

We walked out into the front of the school.

"So, is it okay for me to be worried about Marissa?" I questioned.

"Why are you worried?" She inquired.

"I mean she came here with no date. Is she ashamed of Hannah?" I inquired. "I mean I've never even met the girl."

"I don't know," Kaitlin admitted. At that moment, I noticed a redhead in a Prius pull up. "What's she doing here?"

"Is that Hannah?" I questioned. She nodded. "Maybe we should talk to her."

We headed down to the parking lot.

"Hannah, this is my girlfriend Samantha." Kaitlin introduced.

"Is Marissa still here?" Hannah asked. She looked like she had put on her nicest dress for the occasion.

"Yeah, she's inside." I answered before Hannah went inside. "I hope that Marissa knows what she's doing because it seems like Hannah really cares about her."

We went back inside and noticed there was a bit of a crowd. It seemed that Zach had spotted Seth and Holly dancing together and freaked out about it. I supposed that it seemed that they were flirting with each other but I was fairly certain that the two of them were only dancing together because Zach hadn't been there.

"Like I said, there's always drama at things like this." I remarked as I leaned against Kaitlin. "So, what do you think your mom is going to say when she sees Hannah here with Marissa?

"We already know that she's going to freak." Kaitlin pointed out.

At that point, I heard people whispering about a maid and I saw that Marissa and Hannah were dancing together. I saw Julie attempting to break it up before Jimmy swooped and dragged her away.

"How were your mom and dad ever together?" I asked.

"They did love each other once." She explained. "Though, at some point, she started to fall in love with his money."

We then went outside and found that Holly was sitting by herself. It kind of sucked that we weren't really friends anymore. I didn't know what to say to her.

"So, I think that maybe we should go home." Seth told me. I didn't know if I was ready yet, but I was his ride and I didn't want to have to ride back with Julie, so I figured that I should probably just take him home.

Suddenly Zach pulled up.

"Hey, I just wanted…" Seth started before Zach punched him and he fell to the ground.

"Oh my god." I replied as I rushed to his aid. He seemed to be okay for the most part other than getting knocked to the ground.

"You hit him?" Holly asked in disbelief.

"I'm sorry. I don't know what came over me." Zach apologized.

At that time, something even more unexpected happened. Alex pulled up.

"Alex?" Seth asked.

"Alex?" Zach also asked.

"Alex." Holly stated.

"What are you doing here?" Seth questioned.

"I felt responsible for you." Alex explained. "I can take it from here."

"Of course you can." Holly said before she took Zach away.

"Sorry, Cohen." Zach apologized.

"This is beginning to look old times." Kaitlin commented.

"Or maybe things are starting to settle down." I suggested. I hoped I was right.

So for now things seemed to calm down but you know they aren't going to stay that way. Tina is played by Hayley Kiyoko. Please don't forget to review.
