Chapter Twenty Six
Jacobs Point of View
Authors Note: Looking towards Mystical Creatures for the Swan family like my favorite so far a winged white tiger. :D but I don't know maybe just a white tiger. Or Dragon? What do you guys think what are your favorite mystical creatures. Or should I do some kind of element bender mixed with a wizard and make up a cool name for it? I also have my OC I made up for a novel of mine it's kind of like a gargoyle from the show Gargoyles only more human/elf with wings claws and a tale. So less beast like. I'm going to make them into a creature of some sort but I'm not sure of what and would like your input, I would like to do it within the next few chapters. It shall begin to happen in this one. Ooh or a type of vampire that you can shape shift into. Keep your appearance and not sparkle!?
"Land" Kim and Bella scream falling out of the car and on to the grass outside Jared house.
"Oh I've missed you sweet, sweet land" Kim kisses the ground, for Jared's sake I hope it was fake kisses. "We've been in that car forever!"
"Like an eternity" Bella suggests, getting up her jeans soaked at the knees. "Good old Washington" She laughs trying to wipe the grass stains from her pants.
"I'll go call Sam" I nod at Jared who heads inside, the girls turn to look at me. I just stare back hoping to confuse them.
"Jacob" Bella began walking towards me slowly. Uh oh what did she want now? "Jacob… I'm hungry"
"Do you want to go to Emily's?" I ask, both her and Kim nod excitedly. "Ok hold on" I head inside to talk to Jared.
"Hey, the girls are hungry."
"Sam's is full of people having a meeting. Let's take them to Sue's diner"
"Sue has a diner?"
"Yeah she opened it two weeks ago, since there are a lot of shape shifters in town and Emily's house is full"
"Ahh where is it?"
"The warehouse down by the road near Forks"
"Oh yea the one where the parties always were" I head out of the house finding the girls waiting in Jared's car. "Were going to Sue's diner" I tell them getting into the passenger side as Jared starts the car.
"Sue has a diner" They say at the same time, not this story again. My phone rings allowing me to not hear a repeat of the conversation I just had.
"Hey Sam" I answer.
"You guys going to Sue's" He asks, I nod forgetting for a second I was on the phone.
"Uh ya, the girls are hungry and I doubt anyone has gone shopping since I left"
"Probably not, we've been busy with housing situations and the war. The packs eat free at Sue's if the girls can chip in to help and we help with food costs"
"So it's basically like eating at Sue's house only now it's big enough for all of us"
"Yes, so Billy asked if you can run patrol by the way."
"Sure" I question he sighs.
"It's basically so we can get boundaries for everyone. And so we keep up as phasing daily."
"Understandable, hey were here so going to eat now" He clicks off the phone.
"What's understandable" Jared asks.
"Sam needs us to phase daily to keep up in our wolf forms."
"Oh ok" He holds the door open for us. Sue greets us at the door.
"Girls when you're done eating we could use some help in the back, I'm sure the boys would prefer if you were here while they're out doing wolf stuff" She asks, they nod to her and we're lead to a table. No booths good. Easier to stand up and run to a howl if need be. "What can I get you guys?"
"Whatever is easiest to cook? We've been eating at gas stations for the last three days" Bella explains for all of us.
"Done" She says walking away.
"That was easy" Kim says smiling "So is everyone here wolves? Cause that would be so cool to have so many wolves just like all lined up"
"Yeah like an army of wolves. Kind of like when you line up your men on Age of Empires 2." Bella begins
"Yeah! I wish your DS's weren't dead we could totally show the boys." Kim continues. (A/N: in this story the DS has age of empires not sure if they do or not)
"Here we go" Sue sets down four plates of food. I smile at the eggs bacon and hash browns with a side of gravy; basically what we always eat at Sue's anyways. I shovel the food down my throat not bothering to chew half of it. A howl erupts as I spoon the last of the food into my mouth. Jared and I stand making our chairs creak against the cement floor, others stand around us as we leave the warehouse heading for the woods. Nobody speaks, soon were running on all fours. My mind links with Jared's and my dad's.
"Dude, not all of us are wolves" He begins, I look around finding different creatures around me; tigers lions a few bears others were wolves.
"Dad who howled" I ask after getting over the shock of other shape shifters.
"Seth; he smelled cold one" I pick up my speed running in the pouring rain others begin to notice and run faster too.
We come into the clearing with Seth and dad, Sam stands opposite of us with his dad who looks similar to his wolf; I wonder if my future child will look like my wolf.
"Ha" Jared snorts beside me, earning a glare from dad.
"The scent ended here" Seth informs us though dads head.
"How could it just have vanished?"
"Maybe they stopped being a vampire right here?" Jared states boldly even though he's joking.
"Ha like that's possible." I say, my head spinning for an answer (hmm maybe? Read A/N) "Maybe the scent is just masked?" I put my nose to the ground trying to find a trace. "Here" I yell my nose goes crazy as I take off in a run following the fading trail.
Why is the scent disappearing? "Stop" I yell making my feet stop, but it was too late everyone plows into the foggy woods yelping in pain as they're forced to phase back into naked men and women trembling on the ground in agony. I watch from afar as they can't find their feet to move. I phase back pulling the phone from my pocket and call the Cullen's. They're the only ones I know who can explain this, and explain why I'm not being effected as the fog now covers my feet just above my ankles.
"Hello"
"Carsile" I breathe into the phone.
"Yes"
"It's Jacob I just outside of Forks I believe, trying to get my positioning down. Um we were following a leech scent and it was fading and now everyone is on the ground in pain and… "
"We'll be right there" He clicks off the phone.
"Stupid mutt" Someone snickers, turn to see the red eyes from two leeches that look almost identical. "Stupid scared little mutt" The girl speaks.
"They're not in pain you moron" The other begins a small smirk on his face. "They have no control over what they hear, say, smell, see"
"My brother took it away, although I am curious as to why you aren't on your knees as well. Nobody can escape Alec" The girl spits. So the guy's name is Alec, and this must be Jane I've heard so much about them.
"Do tell wolf, are you magical?" He asks, not looking away from the shapeshifters. Maybe if I can just break his gaze. I reach down pulling a rock and chuck it at his face only for it to be caught by his sister. Why didn't I see that coming? She throws it down to the ground.
"Well, well, well" She turns on her heel looking to the Cullen's as they approach. "Come to save your precious puppy" She smiles at them.
"What do you want with us" Alice pleads.
"We want you dead" She smirks. "Come Alec I think Aro will approve of the knowledge we have gathered here; and around the world." I knew it. "Thank you so much for clearing up the mutts for us and putting them and all your traitorous friends in one spot for us; it make our jobs a lot easier in the end" She smirks, as Alec and her jump into the trees disappearing this time for good.
"Why weren't you like the rest of the wolves?" Esme asks, I shrug. "That fog should have had you on the ground with the rest of them. Maybe…"
"No, I don't think he wants to meet the mutt" The blonde retorts glaring at me.
"Esme is right he's the only one who can explain it. Jacob would you come with us we have someone for you to meet. Or perhaps to meet you." I nod slowly, Very curious myself.
