Chapter 30

"Aro" Edward calls out "What is the meaning of this."
"Do I have to have meaning for my answers Edward?" He retorts running a hand down one of the men's faces.
"What are they?" Bella asks, I look to her once then back again. I had no idea what they were and why they were chained. But I suppose we were about to find out.
"What do you come here, Why do you challenge the Shapeshifter?"
"Why that is a grand question you are asking my dear boy. Why would I want to control a shape shifter?" That's why he's here? To contain us like they did those men. To have us as PETS? I growl, and it's not alone. My blood beings to boil; running hotter than ever before. "Now, how would one did that. How would one control a beast with a mind, a temper, and a beast within? Tell me how one would control a beast like these men here"
"Aro, Let them go! Let us live here in peace! Go back to Italy; and forget what you have seen here" Edward demands.
"That is not the answer I was looking for, But lucky for you im in a giving mood. Here is a simple way to control a beast; I assume it works similar to that of a Shapeshifter but I don't have one to test. You see Edward; these are Children of the Moon." The vampires gasp, I look to Sam for answers who looks just as confused as I am. "For those of you who don't know. Children of the moon, are full moon werewolves. The one and only." Aro smirks.
"Let them go" Edward repeats slowly.
"I would let them go, but they would stay. They are loyal to me. Aren't you curious as to how?"
"Yes Aro we are curious" Esme pleads.
"Well bring them out" He snaps his fingers. "How to contain such a beast, is to capture and torture his mate" More leaches lead women out on tighter chains; around all their limbs and neck; their body bruised and purpled. I growl at the sight pulling Bella behind me. Over my dead body would they take her from me? A few of the men phase at the sight of this; Rage courses through my veins; I could phase at any second, the smallest thing to set me off.
"Youre a monster" Someone yells.
"Let them go" Another shouts.
"What are you going to do? Make me" He smirked. He was inducing this war. He needed most of us gone. Most of the vampires fall to their knees screaming in pain. But the shifters stand strong looking to one another for questions. "How are you doing that? How are you with standing the pain, the emptiness?"
"Bella, push your shield out" Eric says, "Close your eyes and focus. Push it away from you. Protect our company" Bella closes her eyes pulling away from my hand. The Cullen's stand back up looking directly at us, no longer affected by whatever gifts Aro possessed.
"Youre powerless here Aro; this won't end well" The small pixie one says.
"Don't you wonder why we chose to come on this night?" He taunts ignoring our pleas. "As the moon rising you will see" He smirks, raising his hands above his head. "Unchain the beasts" Eyes of his followers look up behind him, mostly red but a few golden ones stand out. From the inside they begin to fall, taking out those who attack them while one goes towards the women unchaining them while the rest takes out their handlers.
"Aro Listen to us before this kills you" Edward yells, his voice lost in the chaos unfolding beneath our eyes.
"My children; what have you done!" He roars; running towards a golden eyed spy. His hands wrapping around his neck; with a snap it falls to the ground and is crushed by his foot. Red eyes peer from the eyes, as Aro grabs his head. "What is this? Why are you doing this?" He looks around as if confused. "Whats happening to me?"
Bella takes my hand again, tightening her grip I look at her but her eyes aren't waiting for mine but watching her father. Charlie stood near the Elven his hands on his temples and eyes squeezed shut.
"What's he doing?"
"He's changing what Aro is seeing, he's making Aro think all the vampires on his side are Golden eyed. But it's only a few from our side waiting for the trigger time." Bella whispers into my ear; barely audible. "Now his followers are weary of his true feelings and are protecting their own. He's falling from the inside"
"You knew about this"
"I had heard rumor; but I wasn't informed directly. Something about Elven being the better race" She smirked kissing my cheek; "Don't worry youre still my favorite though"
"I better be" I smile down at her; pulling her into my side. I look back just in time for a vamp to come up behind Aro and snap his head off quickly. Everyone backs away from the scene as if he were to come back to life. Edward walks up with a lighter and drops it on the body. "So wait, we gathered all of this army, all our friends and family promising them death; just for Charlie to turn into a bad ass?" I look down at Bella then up just in time to catch Charlie winking at me. "Excuse me while I pick up my exploded brain parts"
"Exploded brain parts Jacob?"
"Don't make fun of my words"
"Is that seriously it? I didn't even get to break any bones" Embry comes up behind Bella and I. "Please tell me there's more"
"Oh there is, Edward has to fight that guy there" Jasper says to us pointing into the field "For the rank in charge of the Volturi; Edward burned Aro, but he wasn't next in line. This doesn't really concern you wolves so you can go"
"How does it not concern us" Sam asks coming over. "They came here to capture us or kill us. How is that not our place to have a say in this."
"How would you have a say? Vote?"
"Why not? This is our world too and we should make sure it's well protected"
"Uh guys looks like there's no need for a vote; Edward already won" Embry points out, leaning against my shoulder. I follow his finger towards the scene as Edward drops a match on the broken body. Most of the vampire kneel before him, others turn and leave as soon as they have their chance.
"Release the Children of the Moon; and allow them to live in peace where ever they wish" He calls out to his new coven then turns to look in our direction. "Shape shifters; you are no threat to me; nor to my family I hope they may stay on this land and live in peace with you for the rest of time. I am leaving with my brothers and sisters to live in Italy but I know Esme and Carslie would prefer to stay here. I hope we can live in peace, I shall make it a law that no one hunt any kind of shifter." Edward finishes his little speech; it sounded rehearsed like he practiced it in his bedroom mirror for hours. As I turn to face Bella I catch a small smile on Edwards face the instant our eyes catch.
"Well the big threat is over what shall we do now?" Bella asks, holding my hands smiling up at me.
"How about you marry me?" I ask smiling at her, dropping down to one knee. If anytime was good it was now.
"Did you even ask Charlie first?"
"Are you going to avoid my question all day Bella?"
"Jacob you have my permission to marry Bella. Thanks for asking" He butts in laughing.
"This isn't the first time he didn't ask" Billy nudges his arm, looking right at me. "Im ashamed son; I thought you learned the first time" I shake my head at the two.
"There was a first time" Sam whispers to Billy; completely distracting Bella from my extravagant proposal.
"Yeah for that stupid class project; I got a letter in the mail saying they were married, we gave him shit then and we'll do it now" Billy answers back above a whisper. "Well Bella are you going to give him an answer or make him kneel in the mud all day? We have a party to get to" He taps his watch looking at us expectantly. "Oh you might as well say yes, it's not like you two aren't soul mates"
"Dad" I bark at him
"What?"
"Shut the hell up!"
"Fine" He mocks me silently walking away.
"So Bella, will you?"
"I would love too" She replies smiling, kissing my lips as I forget my annoying family cheering around us.
I know its short; im sorry for that. But it has a sweet ending! Don't worry there will be more chapters after this. Im sorry for the wait; but I was kind of waiting for reviews… I had no motivation for this chapter. I got a PM last night from a wonderful fan that gave me the tiniest motivation. Also power is out! Has been for 3 days were running off generators. Most of my town is back on except my block! Right? What kind of shit is that?! Hopefully they'll get their shit together and get off their asses to fix it. I miss my minecraft.
