"So, what do you want to do?" Hanna asked as she managed to open up the front door of her apartment.
"I thought, you'd never ask." Penn said turning her around, slipping his arms around her waist.
"You know, whatever you are thinking right now we should get in first." Hanna said with playful smirk.
"Sure," Penn said carrying her up taking her inside her apartment. She let out a hysterical squeal.
"Put me down," Hanna screamed. Penn managed to close the door with his foot heading to the living room. He lay her down the couch and he sat beside her.
Hanna looked around her apartment scanning through Carter's toy box to his drawing table.
"I missed Carter." Hanna sighed.
"Call his Grandpa and check on him." Penn suggested.
"Okay," Hanna said smiling at him standing up.
"Wait," Penn said pulling her by her hand.
"What?" Hanna said.
"Come here," Penn commanded while Hanna sit back down on the couch beside him.
"I just realized that if Carter is here, I'm not gonna be able to do this." Penn said capturing her lips with his in a hot kiss. He licked her bottom lip asking for entrance and Hanna willingly grant it, slipping her tongue into his mouth. They kissed for a long time till' they both pull away at the same time needing air.
"I should make the call now." Hanna said standing up. Penn just nod at her while smiling.
Hanna went to the door where she dropped her bag when Penn carried her. She picked up her bag and pulled out her phone she immediately dialled Jamie's number to check on her son.
After few rings, Jamie answered it.
"Hello," Jamie said on the other line.
"Hi Jamie, I just called to check on my baby." Hanna said cheerfully.
"He's fine, I'm teaching him how to make a chair but maybe if anyone will seat on it, it will easily break." Jamie said chuckling.
"Sounds great." Hanna said.
"Is that Mommy?" Hanna heard Carter yelled on the other line.
"Yes, Buddy." Jamie told Carter.
"Want to talk to him Hanna?" Jamie asked on the phone.
"Yeah sure, I would love to hear his voice." Hanna said.
"Your mommy wants to talk to you." Jamie told Carter handing him the phone.
"Hi, Mommy." Carter greeted cheerfully.
"Hey Baby, I missed you so much." Hanna said.
"I missed you too Mommy but Grandpa says he'll take me there by tomorrow so you won't miss me that long." Carter said.
"So, how was my baby doing out there?" Hanna said.
"I'm doing fine, Grandpa and I are making a little chair, we also made a swing made of an old tire and rope we tied it on a tree branch by the lake, you wanna see it Mommy? I'll take a picture of it on Grandpa's phone." Carter rambled.
"Looks like you're really having fun. Tell Grandpa to send me the picture." Hanna said.
"Okay, I'll tell him." Carter said.
"Be good, okay? Always follow what Grandpa told you to do and please behave." Hanna said.
"Okay, I will." Carter said.
"Mommy's going to hang up now. I'm going to call you again later. I love you, Baby." Hanna said.
"I love you too, Mommy." Carter said.
"Remember what I said, Behave. Bye." Hanna said.
"Buh-bye." Carter said.
Caleb parked his car in the parking lot in Emily's restaurant. He made his way to the entrance. He's kinda a bit unsure of going to the get together but it won't be that bad seeing old faces anyway. He walked through the door and looked around the place. He saw Paige standing by the bar talking with Toby. Paige saw him and waved.
"You came," Paige said loudly, starting to walk towards him.
"Wow, look who's here." Toby said turning to his direction. He followed behind Paige.
"Hey guys," Caleb greeted smiling.
"I thought, you'd never come." Paige said as she came to a stop in front of him.
"My feet drag me here." Caleb replied.
"How are you, Man?" Toby said giving him a brotherly hug, patting his back.
"I'm good, how are you?" Caleb said when they pulled away from the hug.
"This is going to be a long catching up. Want some scotch or beer?" Toby said.
"Will you wait after dinner? Spencer will kill you." Paige told Toby.
"I think, Paige is right." Caleb said.
"Yeah right, I'm married to Spencer, by the way." Toby told Caleb.
"A Hastings traded for a Cavanaugh last name, poor Spencer." Caleb said shaking his head side to side.
Paige laughed while Toby punch Caleb's arm.
"Just kidding, Man. You two deserve each other." Caleb said chuckling.
"Caleb is always a big fan of Spoby. Team Spoby all the way!" Paige said chuckling.
"I remember that Hanna made that name." Caleb said.
"Yeah and you guys are Haleb." Toby said.
Caleb was taken aback hearing him and Hanna's old couple nickname. They had a lot of memories with that nickname like when they're spending a day with just the two of them and they call it Haleb day, when they had a little competition with the others and they are teaming up together they call themselves Team Haleb, and when they just sit together picturing their future talking about possible Haleb baby names.
-Flashback-
Caleb was lazily lying on his bed with Hanna lying on his arm. They were both naked under the covers on his bed in his apartment. He felt contented just lying there with his princess.
"If we were going to have a baby, what do you want to name them?" Hanna asked out of the blue.
"Are you trying to tell me something?" Caleb asked back.
"I'm not pregnant, silly. It's just a random question what we will name our Haleb baby." Hanna said.
"Okay, If we were going to have a Haleb baby boy, of course I would like to have a junior." Caleb said.
"No, you will have me confuse." Hanna said.
"What do you want?" Caleb asked.
"Uhm..." Hanna said thinking. "Cameron, Cameron sounds good." Hanna finally said.
"No, it's like a girls name." Caleb said disagreeing.
"It's a unisex name, just because Cameron Diaz is a girl it doesn't mean that... that name is just for girls." Hanna said.
"I want my sons name to have a great appeal so no with Cameron." Caleb said.
"Okay, what do you suggest?" Hanna said.
"Hmmn... Carter," Caleb said.
"Carter Rivers." Hanna said trying out the name. "Carter, sounds good." she said looking up at Caleb.
"Told you." Caleb said smiling at her.
"Okay, we're done with Haleb baby boy, how about Haleb baby girl?" Hanna said.
"Hillary, Hadley, Hailey, Cailey... I don't know... You choose." Caleb suggested.
"It all sounds good, I love them." Hanna said smiling lovingly at him.
"How about we practice making Haleb babies?" Caleb said leaning in to kiss her and she willingly responded to his kiss climbing on top of him into a straddling position. Caleb deepened the kiss by sucking on Hanna's bottom lip asking for entrance, she grant it sliding her tongue into his mouth. They kissed passionately for a long time, running their hands all over each others body.
-End of Flashback-
"Hey guys," the sound of Hanna's voice who just walked through the door, snapped him back to reality. Her sweet soft voice is His favorite music to his ears.
"Hey Toby, Paige, and Caleb." Penn greeted the three while holding Hanna securely to his side making Caleb frown.
"Hi," Toby and Paige greet back.
"What are you doing here?" Hanna asked Caleb curiously.
"I invited him." Paige said.
"Yeah, she invited me." Caleb said.
"Oh... Okay." Hanna said.
"Where are the others?" Penn asked.
"Yeah, Spence, Emily and Aria." Hanna said.
"Emily and Spencer is in the kitchen and I think Aria is running late." Toby said.
"I'll just see Emily and Spence." Hanna said looking up at Penn.
"Okay," Penn said giving Hanna a quick peck on the lips before letting her go, making Caleb frown even more.
Aria arrived few minutes after Hanna and Penn, and the gang started to gather around their usual table near the balcony's glass doors. They sat on their usual seats and Caleb sat on Ezra's usual seat beside Aria and across from Hanna for the time being. They all talk about random things and catch up, well more on catching up with Caleb. Caleb tell them a lot that has happened to him in the last six years leaving out the crazy scary unbelievable stuff he had encounter in Ravenswood. They had shared jokes and laughs every once in awhile through their meal. When they were down to dessert, Penn stand up from his seat looking at everyone of them.
"Guys, guys, may I have your attention please?" Penn said trying to get their attention.
"Okay," Penn started again when all eyes are on him. "Babe, will you stand up please?" he said looking down at Hanna. Hanna do what she is told with a confused expression all over her face.
"You guys are Hanna's closest friends, you are important to her and you guys are also a big part of our love story so I would like to share what I am going to say to the important people in our lives." Penn said.
Caleb looked down to the table, knowing what's gonna come next. Penn is about to propose marriage to Hanna. Caleb is silently praying in his head that Hanna will say no, crossing his fingers under the table.
'Please say no, please say no, please say no,' Caleb silently chanted in his head.
"Hanna Marin, you're the most amazing girl I have ever known. You're the very first girl who said no to me, the very first girl that doesn't fall quickly in my charm. You're the very first girl that I fall deeply in love with. I would like to formally ask you this; in front of the important people in our lives. Will you Marry me?" Penn asked kneeling down in front of Hanna, opening the velvet box carrying the diamond ring that he showed Caleb.
Hanna went pale just looking at Penn, she was shocked of his sudden proposal. She wanted to say something but it seems like her mouth went dry that enables her to speak.
Caleb looked at Hanna who seems to froze where she is standing. He keeps on chanting 'Please say no' in his head. He's really desperate, he even wanted to stand up and drag Hanna out of the restaurant and take her some place else just to convince her to say no.
"I-Uh- I'm sorry." Hanna finally managed to say. She grab her bag as quickly as she can and stormed out of the restaurant. Emily, Paige, Spencer, Toby, Aria, and Caleb all stood up as they watch Hanna walked out the door.
The smile on Penn's face got vanished as he stood up about to follow Hanna. Emily caught his arm and he turned to look at her.
"Gave her space." Emily simply said. Penn just sat back on his seat just staring at the diamond ring.
Caleb wanted to follow Hanna right away but maybe space is what she needed right now.
Caleb was driving home from the restaurant. He was really happy that his prayers had been answered, Hanna doesn't exactly said no but she doesn't said yes either. It gives him a little hope to hold on to, that he can make things right, that he can still have a chance. He feels bad for Penn though, he looks like he's really deeply and madly in love with Hanna.
Caleb came to a stop into a stop light. He was looking around the quiet still street of Rosewood when his gaze landed to the playground on the left side of the road, she was there sitting in the swings her head leaning by the metal chain. He immediately parked his car on the side of the road and got out of his car. He walked towards the swing set where she was sitting.
Hanna heard footsteps getting closer to her, she sat up and look over her shoulder. He saw Caleb walking toward her.
"What are you doing here?" she asked coldly slurring through her words clear evidence that she was drunk.
"I was heading home and I saw you here." Caleb simply said looking at her tear stained face.
"I don't want anyone to be with me, right now. So, please go away." Hanna said stubbornly.
"I won't be leaving a drunk girl in here." Caleb said.
"You know, what this is all your fault. If it weren't because of all the men who left me... especially you, I won't be like this. I won't be scared of loving someone again and I won't be scared of a thing called marriage." Hanna said standing up pointing at him.
"I'm sorry... I was such a jerk, I'm so stupid and coward." Caleb said looking straight into her eyes.
"And you know what's the worst part, you left me and I believe that you cheated on me but still... Still I'm in love with a jerk like you, I thought I get passed that when I allow myself to love Penn but you came back..." Hanna said through her tears. Caleb looked at her sympathetically.
"You ruined everything, you messed up everything. I love you but I couldn't because you're engaged and you love her." Hanna continued sobbing wiping her tears with the back of her hands.
"Yeah, maybe I do. I thought, I do love her but it turns out I can't love her the way I love you, as much as I love you." Caleb said walking towards her, wrapping his arms around her waist crashing his lips to hers in a rough kiss. Hanna froze for seconds not realizing what is happening till' it sinks in her brain that Caleb is really kissing her, she responded urgently putting one arm around his neck and one hand running through his hair. Caleb sucked on her bottom lip asking for entrance to her mouth that she willingly responded to, slipping her tongue into his mouth deepening the kiss. They kissed passionately for a really long time and they just don't care with anything in the world. It might seem wrong knowing that they are both tied in a relationship, he was engaged and she have a boyfriend but it feels right. It feels right how they felt shivers down their spines when their lips collide and how they imagined fireworks everywhere.
