"Can we talk?" Caleb asked.
"Actually, I just came by to tell you that I can't stay right now. My boss called this morning and He wants me to go with him in Chicago for a business trip and I have to go already or I won't catch our flight." Olivia said.
"Oh," Caleb said.
"I'll be gone for three days so you need to go alone for the wedding planning stuffs. I'll see you in three days. I love you, Bye." Olivia said giving Caleb a quick peck on the lips. Olivia then walked away from him, giving him a last wave before she stepped inside the elevator.
"Damn," He cursed under his breath wanting to punch the wall.
"Auntie Spencie, when is your baby coming out?" Carter asked. He was sitting with Aria and Emily on the floor in the living room while Spencer is sitting on the couch with Hanna. They are still watching Toy Story.
"There still more than three months to wait before she comes out." Spencer said touching her belly.
"How can you know if she's a girl if you can't see her? She was inside buried in your skin." Carter said.
The four girls laughed at his statement. "Why are you laughing?" Carter asked looking at the girls one by one.
"Baby, the doctor is using a machine to look inside Auntie Spencer's stomach where the baby is." Hanna explained.
"What kind of machine, Mommy? Does Auntie Spencie swallow it to go to her stomach?" Carter asked. The four girls burst out laughing again.
"No, there is a device that they pressed in her tummy and it is connected to a screen so they can see the baby inside." Emily explained to Carter when she stopped laughing.
"I still don't get it." Carter said scratching the back of his head.
"It's alright, Baby. You'll know about it when you're old enough." Hanna said stroking her son's hair.
"You're really cute." Aria said pinching Carter's cheek.
"Thanks, Auntie Aria." Carter said.
"Carter, how about you come with me and Uncle Toby the next time we're going to see our baby?" Spencer told Carter. Carter's eyes lit up looking up at Spencer.
"Really?" Carter asked Spencer.
"Yeah sure, that is if your Mommy allows you." Spencer said glancing at Hanna.
"Mommy, can you allow me please?" Carter said with his famous puppy dog eyes that Hanna can't resist.
"Hmmn…" Hanna said putting her pointer finger in the side of her head as if thinking. "Only if you promise that you'll be a good boy." Hanna said.
"Yes, I promise…" Carter said nodding. "Love you, Mommy." He added standing up from the floor to kiss his mom on her cheeks.
"Uhhh… that's so sweet." Aria commented.
"Auntie Spencie, I'm coming with you." Carter said beaming with excitement.
"You sure are, Uncle Toby and I will just pick you up before we go to the doctor next week." Spencer said.
"Yay…" Carter said.
They get back to watching the movie and Hanna's three best friends left when it is done.
Caleb was sitting on the park bench with his laptop placed on his lap. He just decided to work on his app to kill time and get off of thinking about how screwed up his life is. He just failed breaking up with his fiancé to be with the girl he loved who ran away from him the night she just admit that she still love him. It's better to just work on his app than to think of his issues. He type out some codes enhancing and improving the features of his app. He sip his coffee every once in a while and stretch his arm. He looked around the park, there are kids playing around, adults taking a jog or riding a bike and suddenly his eyes landed to the direction of the swings where his make-out session with Hanna happened last night. He smirked remembering that hot kiss they shared. He loved how her lips move against his.
'You're thinking of her again, get back to working.' he thought, scolding himself.
He got back on typing in his laptop and just worked there for hours.
Hanna and Carter walked to the park to the playground where Carter can play.
"Mommy, there's George and his mom." Carter said pointing at the mother and son pair sitting on the outdoor table near the playground. George is Carter's classmate in kindergarten.
"Want to go to them?" Hanna asked.
"Yes, can I play with George?" Carter asked.
"Of course, you can." Hanna said.
"Let's hurry up." Carter said pulling his mother to where George and his mom is.
They walked to the outdoor table where George's mom Stella is seated.
"Oh, Hi Carter," Stella greeted upon seeing Carter.
"Hi George's mom," Carter greeted politely.
"Hi Hanna," Stella greeted Hanna standing behind Carter.
"Hi Stella," Hanna said smiling.
"Hi Carter's mom," George greeted.
"Hi George," Hanna greeted back.
"Carter, I brought my Frisbee. Let's play." George said pulling Carter by the hand.
"I'll go play now, Mom." Carter told Hanna.
"Alright, I'll be just right here. Don't go too far, okay?" Hanna said.
"Okay," Carter yelled while running away with his playmate.
"How have you been? I don't see you fetching Carter at school in the past few weeks." Stella said starting a conversation.
"I've been busy lately, I dropped him off to school and my mom picked him up in the afternoon for the time being." Hanna said.
"Oh, I see being a single parent is really a tough job." Stella said.
Hanna continue to talk and catch up with Stella while their children got busy playing Frisbee.
Carter and George continue to throw the Frisbee back and forth. Jumping, kneeling and running just to catch the Frisbee disc.
"You won't catch this." Carter said holding the Frisbee into position to throw it really far.
"I can." George said competitively.
"No you won't." Carter said confidently.
"Try me." George said.
"Okay, on three... One... Two... Three..." Carter threw the Frisbee as hard as he can. It flew up and George didn't catch it.
"Yes!" Carter said jumping.
The two kids watch where it will land and they witnessed as it flew and hit the guy's head who is sitting in the park bench. They run to the guy who is now touching his forehead.
"Is this yours?" Caleb asked Carter raising the Frisbee while his other hand is touching his forehead.
"I'm really sorry, Mister. I didn't mean to hit you." Carter said.
"I'll call your mom." George said walking away.
"My friend and I are just playing." Carter continued to explain.
"Don't worry, kid. It's alright just be more careful next time." Caleb said closing his laptop and putting it down beside him. He handed Carter the Frisbee and he took it.
"I'm really sorry." Carter said again.
"It's fine, kid. What's your name?" Caleb asked.
"My name is Carter, how about yours?" Carter said.
"I'm Caleb it's nice to meet you." Caleb said offering his hand for Carter to shake.
"It's nice to meet you too Mister Caleb." Carter said shaking his hand.
"You have a nice name, by the way." Caleb said.
"Thank you." Carter said.
"You know if I'm going to have a son, I'll name him that." Caleb said looking at Carter's brown eyes that looks exactly like his. He might not see the resemblance but he felt good talking to him.
"Really?" Carter said with his eyes lighting up.
"Yes and when he grows old I'll tell him that I got his name from the kid who hit my head with a Frisbee." Caleb said trying his best not to laugh while looking at Carter. Carter frowned in the ever so adorable way Caleb ever saw.
"Just kidding, kid." Caleb said messing his hair. "But seriously, I'll name my child after that name." Caleb said.
"Why?" Carter asked.
"Because there is this girl I really love and we decided to name our future child with that name." Caleb said.
"Is she your girlfriend?" Carter asked.
"She had been and I still want her until now but things are complicated." Caleb said sighing. "Enough of me, where is your mom and dad?" Caleb asked.
"My mom is over there." Carter said gesturing the playground. "and I don't have a dad."
"Why?" Caleb said.
"I don't know." Carter said shaking his head.
"Carter's mom, Carter's mom!" George called running towards Hanna.
"Why George? What happened?" Hanna asked.
"Carter hit a guy with the Frisbee." George said.
"Where is he?" Hanna asked.
"Over there, follow me." George said running back to where he came from. Hanna walked behind George worried about Carter.
"I should go now, kid. I'll just see you around." Caleb said grabbing his bag and laptop standing up from his seat.
"Buh-Bye, Caleb. I ask my mommy where my daddy is and I tell you when I see you again." Carter said.
"Okay, kid. Bye." Caleb said waving him goodbye before he walks away.
Carter was left standing there watching Caleb leave.
"Carter!" he heard his mom called. He turned where the voice came from.
"Mommy," Carter said looking at his mother as she walked towards him.
"Where is the guy you hit with the Frisbee?" George asked.
"He left." Carter said.
"What did you do?" Hanna asked her son in a motherly way.
"I'm sorry, Mommy. I wasn't too careful and I hit his head but I tell him I'm sorry and he said he's okay." Carter said looking up at Hanna in his puppy dog eyes so his mom won't scold him.
"Mommy's not mad but you should be really careful next time." Hanna said.
"Okay," Carter said nodding. "Can we play again?" George asked Hanna.
"Sure you can but please be more careful." Hanna said. The kids both nodded and run away.
After going to the park, Hanna dropped Carter off to her mom's house so she can do food shopping. She went to the grocery and bought everything that she and Carter needed for the coming week and when she's done she drive to Lucky Leone's to buy some cupcakes for Carter, her mom, and Pastor Ted. She was about to head back to her car holding the box of cupcakes when she heard someone called her name.
"Hanna!" she turned to where the voice came from and he saw Caleb jog towards her.
She turned on her heel to keep on walking to her car but he swiftly caught her elbow.
"Please, can we talk?" Caleb said panting. "About last night." he added unsure.
"Caleb, there is nothing to talk about." she pleaded.
"There is, we both love each other." Caleb said looking into her eyes.
"I was drunk last night I am unaware of what I'm saying and what I'm doing." Hanna said.
"It doesn't feel like it when you kissed me." Caleb said.
"Last night was a mistake I shouldn't have done what I've done. You're engaged and I have a boyfriend. Can you just forget about it?" Hanna said removing her arm from his grip and walk to her car.
"I won't because last night proves that there is still a chance for us." Caleb said following behind her.
Hanna opened her car door and put the box of cupcake inside.
"Please... Caleb, can we just pretend that last night never happened?" Hanna said holding the car door open facing.
"I can't and I won't." Caleb said determinedly. "I love you and you might think last night was a mistake but I'll make everything right for you, for us." Caleb added looking at Hanna's eyes.
"I don't know." Hanna said shaking her head confused.
"I tried to break it off with Olivia this morning." Caleb confessed.
"Why would you do that?" Hanna asked.
"Because I wanted you and I love you and I want to be fair to her and I don't want to hurt her much more." Caleb said sincerely.
"What happened?" Hanna asked getting interested.
"I failed to do it she left quickly before I start to say something. She tells me that she needed to go on a business trip and she'll be gone in three days." Caleb paused and looked straight into her eyes again. "But once she came back, I promised that I will make it right." Caleb said sincerely.
"I still don't know." Hanna said.
Caleb stepped forward making Hanna leaned her back to the side of her car. Caleb put his hands on either side of her trapping her and he leaned forward crashing his lips to her. Hanna tried to fight him, trying her hardest not to respond to his kiss. Caleb continued to kiss her and teased her to respond. He bit and licked her lips trying his best to make her respond. And when she did, when she started to kiss him back he pulled away smirking at her. She looked at him with a disappointed look plastered on her face.
"Think about it, I'll be waiting for you, I'm always waiting." Caleb said and with that he walked away still smirking.
Hanna just stayed there frozen where Caleb left her. She just watched his back as he walked away. He turned back shooting her with his sexy smile giving her one last wave before continuing to walk.
