"Yeah, let's do this." Hanna said nodding at him placing a quick kiss on his lips.
"Congratulations," Penn told Olivia as they walked out of the conference room. The proposal that Olivia worked on just got approved.
"They trust your judgements, you're a Kingham anyway." Olivia said.
"You know what? I really don't want to be known for how influential my Dad's name was. I hate it but it has it perks sometimes." Penn said.
"I should really get back to the hotel and start packing." Olivia said turning her back starting to walk away.
"Hey, our flight is not until tomorrow afternoon. Can we at least grab some lunch together and just hang a bit?" Penn urged following behind her.
"Sorry, Penn I really can't." Olivia said continuing to walk to the elevator.
"Is this about last night? I'm sorry, I should not do that but it feels good doing that." Penn said.
"What are you saying you're sorry not sorry? That kiss last night is wrong, I'm engaged and you have a girlfriend." Olivia said raising her voice turning to face Penn while she reached the elevator button.
"That girlfriend of mine won't answer my calls or even return it and I don't know if she's still my girlfriend. And like you said the other day you kind of regretting your engagement and you are kind of pretty sure that Caleb will be calling of your wedding when you talk to him on the phone." Penn fired back.
"Whatever, okay? Whatever you see it, it's still wrong so can you just get over it." Olivia said stubbornly as she stepped in the elevator.
Penn never got a chance to say another word as he watched the elevator doors closed in front of his face.
Hanna and Caleb faced the door at the same time and twisted the knob to walk through the door.
Ashley, Ted, Jamie and Carter turned to their direction as the door burst open.
"Hi Mommy, Hi Caleb," Carter greeted cheerfully waving his uninjured arm.
"I guess we'll just be outside for a moment." Ashley said eyeing Jamie and Ted gesturing for them to come with her outside.
Hanna and Caleb step aside as the three walked out of the door. "Thanks Mom." Hanna said to her mom and Ashley just smiled at her daughter.
Hanna walked towards her son's bed while Caleb closed the door behind him. "Mommy, where'd you go?" Carter asked.
"Uhm... Caleb and I just have to talk about something, Baby." Hanna said.
"We also have to tell you something." Caleb added walking towards the bed.
"What is it?" Carter asked.
"Remember the other night when you asked about your daddy?" Hanna started looking at her son.
"Yeah," Carter said nodding at his mom. He looked at Caleb and smiled at him. "Mommy said that my daddy went to a place far from here." Carter told Caleb.
"You also said that you wished that he would come back, right?" Hanna told Carter glancing at Caleb.
"Yeah, I wish we could play together and he could teach me how to ride a bike like George. George said that his dad is going to teach him how to ride a bike." Carter said.
Caleb smiled thinking he can sure do that with him. "Remember what I said when I meet you in the park?" Caleb suddenly asked.
"That you are going to name your future son Carter?" Carter said smiling.
"Yeah but it turns out I don't have to anymore because I already have a son with that name." Caleb said nervously yet smiling slightly.
"We have the same name? Where is he? Can I see him? Can we play?" Carter asked with his eyes lighting up.
"Baby slow down, you already know him actually." Hanna said chuckling while Caleb looked pale with his nervousness.
"Really, Mommy?" Carter asked curiously.
"Your dad is back, Carter. And Caleb doesn't have to name his future child Carter because you already have that name." Hanna said glancing at Caleb giving him a reassuring smile.
"I don't get it." Carter said scratching the back of his head.
"Caleb is your dad, Baby. He's your daddy." Hanna said finally smiling at his son. Carter was surprised looking at Hanna then to Caleb.
"You're my daddy?" He said finally looking at Caleb.
Caleb doesn't know what to say as tears welled up in his eyes and he just nodded to Carter's question. Carter lifted from the bed and hug Caleb. Caleb hugged him back touching his son's small back and kissed his hair.
"I have a daddy, I already have a daddy." Carter said with glee looking at his teary eyed mother who is smiling at him.
Carter pulled away from the hug and look at Caleb. "So, I don't have to call you by your name and just call you daddy?" Carter asked.
Caleb smiled at his son. "Of course, I would love it if you call me daddy." Caleb said.
"Daddy, will you play with me when we got home?" Carter asked.
"Wow, I love how it sounds." Caleb commented and looked back at Hanna standing behind him who is wiping away her tears.
"Hey, come here." Caleb said gesturing for Hanna to come closer.
Hanna walked towards them Caleb put one arm on her waist while his other arm is still holding Carter. "So, will you play with me, Daddy? Let's make an arm weapon for you too." Carter said nudging him.
"Only if your mommy will allow us to play." Caleb said looking at Hanna.
"Mommy, can daddy and I play when we got home?" Carter said with his famous puppy dog face.
"Hmmn..." Hanna said putting his pointer finger in her chin like she was thinking.
"Please, Mommy..." Carter said.
"Okay but you should know that you needed to rest so you can go to school the day after tomorrow, understand?" Hanna said.
"Okay, Mommy." Carter said smiling at Hanna. "Hear that, Daddy? We can play, I'll show you my toys and when my arm heals we can play basketball like what me and Grandpa Ted do. You wanna go fishing too with me and Grandpa Jamie?" Carter rambled.
"I think we could do that all, Carter." Caleb said messing his hair.
Hanna smiled at the sight of his son completely happy meeting his dad. Caleb looked at her and smiled placing a kiss on top of her head.
"Daddy, is mommy the girl you are talking about when we met in the park?" Carter asked curiously looking up at Caleb.
"What girl?" Hanna asked Caleb.
Caleb smiled at her and faced Carter. "Yes, she is that girl." Caleb answered.
"Mommy, Daddy told me that he loves you but it's complicated." Carter told his mother.
"Really? Huh?" Hanna said smiling looking up at Caleb. "Do you usually talk about me with people you met?" Hanna asked.
"Uhm... Maybe, I can't get you off my mind that day and it's like every time I talk I would mention your name or tell things about you." Caleb confessed.
"Awww, That's really cute, Rivers." Hanna said.
"Mommy? Daddy? Are you two flirting?" Carter asked that caught both of his parents attention.
"What?" Hanna and Caleb both asked in unison.
"Are you two flirting?" Carter repeated his question.
"Wait, where did you pick up that word?" Hanna asked sternly.
"Uncle Toby and Auntie Spencie," Carter answered.
"Those two does that all the time, Aren't they?" Caleb said chuckling.
"You know what, Baby? I think Mommy should call the doctor now and ask if you can go home. Will you be okay with Daddy?" Hanna said.
"Yes," Carter said smiling widely.
"Of course, he's gonna be fine." Caleb said placing a kiss on Hanna's head while he mess Carter's head.
Hanna smiled at the both of them as she turn on her heel and walk to the door.
Ashley Marin looked up when she heard the opening of the door and see her daughter walking out. She stands up from the bench and walk up to her daughter.
"What happened in there?" Ashley asked.
"We already told Carter." Hanna announced smiling at her mother.
"How does he take it?" Ashley asked.
"He's so happy I haven't seen him that happy." Hanna said.
"That's great I think we should leave so Carter can have a time with you and Caleb." Ashley said.
"Great idea, Carter needs some catching up to do with my son." Jamie said standing up from the bench across from the door of Carter's hospital room.
"If you need anything, Hanna, you can call us or your free to come by in the house." Ted said standing beside Jamie.
"Alright, I just need to ask the doctors if Carter is free to go home." Hanna said.
"We're getting in so we can say our goodbyes to Carter and Caleb." Ashley said smiling at her daughter. "Take Care, Sweetie." Ashley said enveloping her daughter into a tight hug.
"I will." Hanna said before she pulled away from the hug and started to walk to find Carter's doctor.
Ashley, Ted and Jamie then entered Carter's hospital room to say their goodbyes.
"Nana, Grandpas, I already have a daddy." Carter said proudly as he saw his Grandparents enter the room.
"That's great, Carter." Ashley told her grandson smiling at him. She was so happy for him.
"Grandpa Jamie, can he come with us fishing?" Carter asked Jamie. Caleb smiled at his dad.
"Of course, Buddy. I really wanted him to come with us. I wish I could be a great dad to him too." Jamie said looking at Caleb who is smiling at him.
"Daddy, Grandpa Jamie is your daddy?" Carter asked surprised.
"Yup, that's what made him your Grandpa." Caleb said chuckling, messing Carter's hair.
"And that's what made you handsome." Jamie spat back.
"Ha-ha, Well I guess thank you are in order. Thanks dad." Caleb said laughing.
"Anyways, Caleb we need to leave so you can spend time with Carter and Hanna. Make sure you take good care of them." Ashley said.
"I sure will, Ms. Marin." Caleb said.
"Please just call me Ashley, you might have done things before but I still see you as a son." Ashley said smiling at him.
"Thanks Ashley," Caleb said.
"Your welcome," Ashley said.
"We were leaving now, Carter." Ted told Carter.
"Grandpa Ted, we were going to play superheroes again, right?" Carter asked Ted.
"Yes, Buddy but you should make sure you won't hurt yourself again." Ted said.
"I promise, Grandpa." Carter said raising his right hand.
"Good," Ted said.
"We should go now, Carter so you can spend time with your daddy." Ashley said stepping forward to give Carter a hug and a kiss on his cheek.
"Okay, Nana." Carter said.
"Bye, Carter." Jamie said messing Carter's hair. "Bye, son," Jamie said tapping Caleb's shoulder.
"Bye Carter, Bye Caleb." Ted said smiling at the father and son.
Ashley, Ted, and Jamie then started walking out of the room giving Carter and Caleb last waves.
After an hour, Carter got discharged from the hospital.
"So, what do you want to eat, Carter?" Caleb asked. He was carrying Carter in his arms while Hanna is carrying Carter's bag. They were walking in the parking lot to Caleb's car.
"Phasgetti," Carter answered.
"What is Phasgetti?" Caleb asked looking at Hanna who is smiling at them.
"Spaghetti, he call it Phasgetti. It's his favorite food next to Ice cream." Hanna explained.
"Oh right, That's what dad told me." Caleb said.
"Daddy, can we have ice cream too?" Carter asked.
"Of course, Bud. We can eat anything you want." Caleb said.
When they reached Caleb's car, Caleb strapped Carter in a seatbelt in the backseat and put his things in the trunk. He opened the car door for Hanna in the passenger seat and he hopped in in the driver's seat. They drive to Carter's favorite restaurant to eat lunch first before they go home. Carter ordered anything he wants and when their order came, Caleb spoon feed him because he can't eat properly with his injured arm.
Hanna watched the father and son as Caleb spoon feed Carter and as they talk about random stuff about toys and everything Carter likes to do. They made plans of going to the park and playing sports. Hanna smiled contentedly being with the two people that she loved the most in the world. She feels lucky. She felt like there is nothing more she could ask for.
Here it is, finally... I'm really sorry for making you wait for it... I don't have internet for days and it really sucks... and after I upload this I'm catching up with everything I missed... I hope you guys enjoy this... I'm kinda lacking ideas for this story right now and I think writer's block is coming my way so I would really appreciate it if you guys add some suggestions with your reviews... Thanks in advance...
