Yoh's legs weighed a ton, he had to drag them to walk. When he reached home, he had to open the door with his forehead, because he couldn't lift his arms, it was as if his muscles were on a strike. Training had been harder than expected that day, and given the color of the sky as he finally returned, Anna would not be pleased with his results. He hoped she'd made something for herself and didn't starve waiting for him to come back and cook.

Dropping the weighs at the door barely helped with the tiredness, his body still felt made of lead. Reaching the dinning room, he found his fiancee asleep at the table, two bowls of rice and fish set besides her. He reached her to kiss her forehead in apology, before waking her up. He was too tired to take her to her room, and she obviously hadn't eaten dinner, so it was the best option.

"Anna, I'm back."

He couldn't help smile as she blinked slowly, sleep still clinging to her eyes. Her serious and composed demeanor not yet in place, she looked cuter than usual. When she finally registered he was there, she scowled. He had to avoid a cringe at that, he was going to be scolded badly, more so because she probably was embarrassed of being found waiting.

"You're late."
"I'm sorry."
"You lack endurance. From tomorrow on, your training regimen will be adapted accordingly."
"Yes, Anna."
"You haven't bathed yet."
"Ah..." Not letting her stay asleep in a bad position had seemed more important.
"Go take a bath." I'll reheat the food. She didn't say it, but he saw her taking the plates.
"Yes." Thank you.
"You'll be buying groceries tomorrow on the way back from your training."
"Yes, Anna."
"And making dinner, so you cannot be late again."
"Yes, Anna."

Rules laid down, she walked to the kitchen, so he went to retrieve a yukata and then headed to the bath. The water helped his aching muscles and almost lulled him to sleep if it weren't for Amidamaru. The samurai spirit had been quiet for a while and he'd almost forgotten about him. When he was finally back in the dinning room, he realized the ghost had left. He was being allowed privacy with Anna, he appreciated it.

"Food's ready." As well as the tea, he noticed.
"Thank you."
"We are not eating so late again."
"Okay."

There was a bit of silence then, broken only by the sound of chopsticks. He didn't mind, being used to it. Having her there, being able to watch her eat, was more than enough. She was the person that didn't let him feel alone, her waiting for him was a reminder. He didn't hide his smile as he ate.
