Chapter 9 Uncle Finn comes to visit
*Phone ringing*
"Hmm yello?" Marceline lazily answered the phone after walking into the loungeroom to pick it up.
"Hey Marcy it's me Finn".
"Oh, hey Finn what's up?".
"Nothing much, I was just wondering if I could come around spend some time with you and the girls? I haven't seen you in a few months".
"Yeah sure dude come around, the girls have missed you and I could use some company, Bonnie's at work though so not much to do".
"Okay cool I'll see you in a bit, bye".
"Bye Finn".
Both Finn and Marceline hung up.
*20 minutes later*
Finn pulled up in the driveway next to Marceline's car and got out approaching the doorway to his friend's house. He considered knocking but at this point he was family to the two women so he entered the house. Standing in the hallway he looked around trying to find Marceline, before deciding to call her name out.
"Yo Marceline where ya at?" he yelled loud enough for her to hear.
"I'm upstairs in the babies' room head on up" she called down to him.
"K" he replied before climbing the stairs.
Finn found the twins room and lazily leaned on the door waiting for Marceline to acknowledge him. Marceline was doing something with one of the babies making sure she was comfortable before she turned around to face Finn. Smiling she walked over to her friend and gave him a hug which he returned. The two adults left the kids room and headed back downstairs to sit in the loungeroom.
"Sorry the girls went for a nap after you called they should be awake soon though" Marceline said to Finn.
"Nah I don't mind much, we can catch up before those two little monsters wake up" Finn replied affectionately.
Marceline chuckled because Finn was right the two girls were becoming more and more of a handful as they got older and they certainly kept her busy during the day.
"So how have you been what's been happening with you?" Marceline enquired.
"Uhm well I've been working mostly and training but I have been talking to this girl online, and she seems really interested in me" Finn replied nervously rubbing his neck while looking at the floor.
Marceline smiled knowing it took a lot for Finn to talk to a girl he liked, he was so shy and nervous it was a source of amusement for his friends and family and a little bit endearing. She looked at him waiting to see if there was anything else.
"So, what's her name?"
"Well her username is flame princess, but her real name is phoebe" Finn replied eager to talk about the girl he met online.
"Oh yeah what does she look like?" Marceline enquired with a hint of a smirk.
Finn pulled out his phone and showed her the picture of phoebe he had.
"Nice dude a red head she looks fiery as hell" Marceline smirked with a teasing tone as she poked Finn in his ribs.
Finn squirmed away from her prodding fingers before he put his phone back in his pocket and replied.
"Yeah, she is but she's also really nice, I'm hopefully meeting her for coffee later, I was wondering if you would mind coming along?"
Marceline looked surprised before she considered it, she did want to get out of the house with the girls and Finn wouldn't have asked unless he really needed someone to go with him for support.
"Hmm, yeah sure I can go get the girls out of the house for a bit"
Finn sighed in relief before thanking Marceline. She smiled before she heard a gurgling sound coming from upstairs. Excusing herself she went upstairs to check the girls leaving Finn in the living room.
A minute later Marceline walked down the stair with both the twins on her hips heading towards the living room and Finn. Before she reached the entrance to the room she put both girls down and got Finn's attention before pointing him out to the girls.
Both twins stood there for a minute looking at Finn shyly before the man knelt down on the floor and extended his arms out to his nieces. Both girls waddled as fast as they could to their adopted uncle and threw themselves into his arms hugging him and chattering in their baby talk.
The blonde-haired man laughed and stood up with both girls in his arms listening to them babbling at him excitedly. He made some baby talk back to them before he noticed Claire squiring and indicating to the ground. He knelt back down and placed the little girl down on the ground and watched her toddle off to go get something. Meanwhile Ivy was being tickled by Finn and trying to squirm away from him but he kept playfully tickling her making her laugh and squeal.
Claire waddled back into the room holding a bunch of toys in her tiny hand and drawing the attention of her sister and Finn, who stopped tickling the pick haired girl and wandered over to the little toddler with the toys. Both girls sat down on the floor while Finn knelt next to them and they showed him all their new toys he hadn't seen before all the while Finn was talking to them and playing with them. Marceline leant on the doorway watching her family playing with each other and smiled in happiness at her friend's antics.
Eventually both of the adults packed up the girls into Marceline's car and headed down the street to the coffee place they were going to meet phoebe at. Marceline had both girls as she carried them across the road placing them down on the ground before she started to walk towards the café. Looking behind her she noticed both of the twins were staring at a building before they decided to try and head for its open entrance.
Finn was behind the girls seeing where they were going to go he decided to intervene before anything could happen. He stopped both girls by standing in front of them and placing his hands out to the side so they could hold them. Both girls looked at his bigger hands and took the hand offered to him, before he slowly walked them towards their mother, who was awwing at the sight of her tough friend being adorable with her kids. Finn looked up just in time to see Marceline take a photo of him and the girls and then squealing at the adorable photo. He smiled a bit embarrassed before catching up to his friend and helping the girls up the stairs.
"I'm going to go sit down with the girls, leave you and Phoebe alone for a bit, if you need me just come and find me"
"Will do and thanks Marcy" Finn replied smiling at his friend before he went off to go find the attractive red head.
Marceline hummed to herself before she picked up both girls smaller hands and walked them over to a small sitting area. She knelt down told them to stay for a bit while she got them food and drinks for herself as well.
Coming back to the table she placed her coffee on the wooden table and gave each girl a bottle of juice and some yogurt. Seeing as both girls were occupied she decided to text Bonnie to see what she was up to.
M: "hey Bonnie what are you up to? "
She waited about a minute for a reply before her phone beeped
B: "nothing just finished an experiment, contemplating getting something for lunch. What about you?"
M: "I'm out with the girls at a café getting some food would you like to join us? Also, Finn has a date with an attractive read headed woman named Phoebe"
Marceline waited while she saw the little dots indicating that Bonnie was typing.
B: "sure I'll join you and the girls. WAIT Finn has a date?"
M: "yep"
B: "with a RED HEAD?"
Marceline paused before she laughed under her breath and continued her conversation with her wife.
M: "ha-ha yep that's what I said a red head"
Hitting send she checked on the girls and then looked over at Finn and Phoebe who seemed to be doing just fine before her attention was brought back to her phone
B: "I'll be there in five text me the name of the café?"
Marceline did just that giving her wife the name of the café and the street she parked in.
B: "thanks Marcy I'll see you in five, love you xx"
M: "I love you too xx"
Marceline placed her phone back into her pocket before she tidied up the girls to make them a bit more presentable for their other mother.
Bonnie parked her car next to Marceline's and proceeded to enter the café. She quickly spotted her wife and their children and made her way towards them. Once Marceline had spotted her wife she stood up and greeted the pink haired woman with a kiss and indicated she sit with them. Both girls looked at up at the new comer and recognised their other mother quickly becoming excited and reached out for her. She plucked up both girls and gave them a kiss on their heads before placing them back in their seats.
The two women talked for a bit before their food arrived. After their meal Marceline discretely pointed out who Phoebe was and Bonnibel sat there and gave her a quick once over before talking back to Marceline.
"oh, wow she is quite attractive" she responded to her wife's curious gaze before Marceline smirked.
"right Finns a lucky guy, but of course I think she has nothing on you Bonnie"
"aww aren't you just cute, also nice save" Bonnie smirked while quirking her eyebrow
Marceline winked, before she noticed that Finn and Phoebe were heading their way.
Finn and Phoebe arrived at their table and Finn nervously got both of the women's attention and a brief glimpse from the twins who went back to their yoghurt after they realised it was just Finn.
"hey guys I'd like to introduce you to someone, Marceline Bonnibel this is Phoebe" Finn introduced the other women before gesturing to her.
"hey" Marceline replied casually to Phoebe before smiling at her in a friendly manner
"hello" Bonnie replied in the same fashion as her wife.
"And Phoebe this is Bonnie" he said pointing to the pink haired woman.
"And Marceline" he introduced Marceline who lightly waved at Phoebe.
"it's so nice to meet you finally Finns told me so much about you" Phoebe replied genuinely happy to meet the women that Finn considered family.
The girls, having finally finished their yoghurt looked up at Finn and grabbed the bottom of his shirt to get his attention. Picking up both girls he noticed they were looking at Phoebe in a somewhat curious but expectant matter as if they expected him to explain who she was.
"Ivy, Claire this is Phoebe can you give her a wave for me?" the two girls waved their hands and started chattering at Phoebe who came closer to look at the girls.
"Phoebe this is Ivy and Claire" he pointed to the little pink haired girl first who stared at Phoebe before deciding something else was more interesting, and then Finn pointed to Claire who looked at phoebe but hid her face more shyly than her sister had done. Phoebe smiled at the girls who had waved to her before she addressed their mothers.
"they are adorable, and they look just like the both of you with some obvious differences of course"
The two mothers smiled proud of their children.
Finn fussed over both babies before Claire went to Bonnie and Ivy went to Marceline both girls settled against their mothers quietly observing the adults.
"anyway, now that the introductions are done I came over here to tell you that I'm going to walk Phoebe home I'll see you guys later?" Finn asked the other two women.
They nodded before giving their replies
"yes, Finn we will see you another time, it was good to see you again" Bonnie replied before pulling Finn into a quick hug
"feel free to come over anytime Finn you're always welcome at ours, it was nice to meet you phoebe" Marceline replied likewise hugging Finn but smiling at phoebe and shaking her hand.
"same to you two lovely to meet you and the girls" Phoebe replied smiling at the women and the toddlers in their arms. The toddlers waved lazily before snuggling back down. Finn bent down and kissed his nieces on their heads before speaking to them.
"now you little monsters be good for your mums okay? Uncle Finn loves you and he'll see you again sometime" the babies both gurgled at him and he smiled back at them before he said good bye and left with the red head.
"she seems nice" Bonnie said turning to look at Marceline.
"yeah, she does, anyway what time will you be home from work?" Marceline asked Bonnie
"hmm about 5 o clock"
"Alright well I'll see you then, don't work too hard I love you" Marceline said before she took Claire off of Bonnie and gave her pink haired wife a quick peck on the lips.
"I love you too Marceline" Bonnie replied before she gave Marceline another peck and kissed the girl's goodbye as well before she left the café.
"alright girls let's get you home shall we"
And with that Marceline went home got the girls settled and decided to do a bit of song writing to keep busy.
AN: hey whoever reads this been a long time but I haven't really felt like writing anything recently, hope you enjoyed this chapter some of which actually happened to me with my niece in real life.
