Chapter 10: four new pack mates
The twins were now five years old and were sitting with Bonnie on the floor of their living room. While watching the girls play, she texted Marceline to see where her wife was.
B: Marceline where are you?
M: I'm 20 minutes away
B: okay I'll see you when you get home, I love you
M: I love you too Bonnie
20 minutes later
Marceline walked through the front door holding a box in her hands, seeing her wife and children sitting in the living room she walked in and caught Bonnibel's attention. The pink haired woman checked on her children before walking to her wife and kissing the black haired woman on the mouth, before looking down into the box in Marceline's arms at the box she was still holding.
Both women looked at each other before silently nodding and proceeding into the room before getting the girls attentions. The two curious girls walked over to their mothers waiting for the two women to speak while glancing at the box still in their mother's arms.
"Girls your mother and I have both been talking and we decided it was time for a new addition to the family" Marceline spoke to the girls looking up at her.
Placing the box on the ground she gestured the girls to stand and face the box before she opened it to show them what was inside of it. As the lid of the box opened a fluffy head cautiously poked its head out of the box and looked at both of the girls with big dark eyes. The girls were standing still looking at the box waiting for a cue from their mothers on what to do. Both women sat on the floor on either side of their kids before Marceline slowly reached into the box.
Placing the puppy on the floor gently she let the little black dog look around the living room before gently patting his head giving the pup the reassurance he needed. The fluffy black pup made its way to the family of four sitting on the ground before cautiously sniffing the two little girls. The girls looked at their mothers who indicated that they could pat the puppy as long as they were gentle.
Both Claire and Ivy slowly reached out towards the dog letting the little pup sniff them before gently stroking his fur. The puppy after realising the girls were no threat to him relaxed before rolling onto his back letting the girls give him belly rubs while he wagged his tail causing the girls to giggle while Marceline and Bonnibel looked on.
The little pup jumped back onto all fours and ran around the girls excitedly as they played with him before they looked back at their parents.
"Are we keeping him mamma?" Claire asked to Marceline
Marceline nodded causing both girls to cheer and the puppy to bark excitedly before Bonnibel cut in with a stern tone.
"Yes we're keeping him but you girls will be responsible and will help look after him alright? That means you feed and walk him okay?"
Both girls nodded and agreed to their mother conditions before they played with the puppy again.
"What are we going to name him girls?" Marceline asked the twins who were throwing a ball to the puppy.
Both girls were silent as they thought about names looking at the furry black puppy
"He looks like a wolf" Ivy chimed in grinning at the thought
"A black wolf" Claire said
Both of the twins looked at each other silently communicating what they were thinking, before both spoke in unison having reached the same conclusion surprising their mothers.
"His name is Lykos" Claire and Ivy stated in unison.
The two older women looked at each other before looking at their daughters for an explanation.
"Lykos is Greek" Claire explained to her mothers.
"It means wolf" Ivy finished her sisters thought.
The two women looked to the black puppy that had lost interest in the ball and was watching the group of females with his head tilted to the side and his fuzzy ears up in curiosity before Marceline said
"Lykos"
The pup looking at Marceline excitedly ran over to the dark haired women before he jumped in her lap and curled up letting her scratch his stomach.
"Well I guess that settles it Lykos it is" she said smiling down at the pup in her lap
The fuzzy puppy barked once before licking Marceline's throat and then bounded towards Bonnie who patted his head and scratched his throat. The dog then ran towards the girls who resumed throwing the ball for him.
It didn't take long for Lykos to come to accept the four human females as his new pack, trusting the older women to care for him while playing with the younger girls. Lykos quickly became their loyal protector and companion sleeping in the middle of the girls' room the very first night he came home.
