It had been hours since they'd reached the sewers, and Leon was getting sick of having Sherry follow him everywhere. As a cop, he knew his duty was to keep her out of danger. But as a man, he wanted to drown her in the knee-level sewage water and be done with her. He had found Jill again, but the brat kept interrupting his smooth talking, and he knew that would make Jill think less of him.

After Jill had run off, thanks to Sherry of course, they had met up with Ada again. Leon was ecstatic when she'd agreed to tag along, and the three of them made their way through the tunnels hoping to find a way out.

He looked back to Sherry, who was trailing behind and slowing them down. "Can you walk a little faster?" he asked.

Sherry looked. "I'm tiiiiiiired…Carry me," she said.

He shook his head. "No way, sorry, I don't carry people," he said. "I'm not a donkey."

"Funny, I had you pegged for an ass," mumbled Sherry.

"What was that?" asked Leon. He saw her grin and sighed.

Ada stopped and looked at them. "I'm actually exhausted myself. I think we've been walking for over an hour," she said. "My lady-feet can't handle that much walking."

Leon hopped over to her. "Want a piggy-back ride? I'll carry you the rest of the way!" he said.

"Hey!" yelled Sherry.

Leon held his hand up to her. "You just want a ride because you're lazy. Ada NEEDS my help," he said.

"I really do," said Ada, sounding obviously sarcastic. Leon crouched down in front of her and she hopped on his back. "Oh, and try not to splash any water upwards when you walk, I want my shoes to dry. They're not cheap shoes, you know."

Leon nodded. "I'll be careful, Ada," he said. He started walking down the tunnel again. "Come on, kid."

Sherry shook her head. "Unbelievable," she said. She started following them, but noticed the water was going down into a vent ahead. Yeah, fuck this guy, she thought. She walked up to it, sat down, and let herself drop into the vent.

It was like a water slide at a theme park, if the theme park was a giant toilet. It smelled, but it got her away from Leon's shit attempt at picking up girls. She was only twelve, but she understood. So she kept sliding, not knowing where she'd end up, thinking about what kind of tantrum she'd throw when she met up with her parents. They deserved it after the day she'd had.

The vent finally ended, and Sherry landed hard on a pile of garbage. Her back hurt from the fall, but nothing seemed to feel broken. She stood up and looked around, and spotted a big sliding door as the only way out. She took a step towards it, but stopped when the water rippled. She hadn't even touched it.

She picked up a piece of trash and threw it in the water, on the opposite side of the room. The ripples headed towards it, splashing all over. Sherry took the opportunity and jumped into the water, then ran for the door. She made it and tried to hop back up on the ledge, but it was just a bit too high, and she fell back in the water.

She stood back up and looked back to see the ripples turn and make their way to her. She screamed and tried to hop on the ledge again, but couldn't quite pull herself up. "SOMEONE HELP ME!" she screamed. The sliding door opened, and someone grabbed her arm and pulled her up over the ledge. "Oh my god, thank you!" she said. She looked at her savior, and screamed.

It was a monster. But nothing like she'd seen in movies or television shows. This thing had one massive arm, which had a giant eye instead of a shoulder, and one tiny head. It was also wearing what looked like a bathrobe, or a lab coat. The more she looked at it, the more familiar it seemed. She stared at its disgusting face, and then it clicked. "D…Daddy?" she asked.

The monster held her up to its face. "Shuuuurrrreeehhhhhhhh" it seemed like it was trying to speak.

Sherry smiled. "Daddy! I found you! So, uh…What's going on here?" she asked.

Without any other word, the monster brought its other hand up and grabbed her by the face. She kicked around trying to fight him, and then felt something slimy crawl into her mouth and down her throat. She couldn't breathe, and the pain was too much to take, causing her to simply black out.
