Getting Ready For A Perfect Christmas!

On Christmas Eve, Morph and a few of the others went to Church/their Church, to celebrate the Lord's birth, and to sing at the Candlelight Service. There, Morph realized the one free perfect gift that he could give to his father, was his gift of singing. Morph had hardly sung since his mother's funeral, and especially after being insulted by his younger relatives on his mother's side, all saying to him that he has a horrible singing voice. Well, Morph finally realized in hindsight now that it wasn't his fault for singing so darn badly, that day. Not only mixed with his sobbing through the whole ordeal, but his voice, he realized, that it was changing back then, so, of course, it drastically affected, his normal naturally beautiful singing voice!

While, meanwhile, Edward too, was also celebrating in his Church not only his Lord's birth, but also his renewal and rededication of his heart to the Lord this day! Edward truly had a joyful reason to celebrate this day, as he told all of his friends, who were so surprised to see him there! With a long nights drive ahead of him, he got some coffee and snacks, eager and ready to leave just as soon as he could, to go see his son! Edward had already packed his car up before going to the service; so he could then head right off on his way there at night to New York, right after Church. Stomach aching and in knots, Edward couldn't wait to get over there! Thankful to God the roads were bare and clear nearly all the way there, but just as he entered New York and headed toward Salem Westchester, it slowly started snowing. It was a perfect end and start to a perfect Christmas, for him!

Jubilee wanting to wait up for Santa, had been, voluntarily, appointed to the job to be near the front entrance door to wait up for someone who was to be coming here sometime tonight. Cerebro had already been alerted to permit a man with the name of Edward through the front gate, other than that, security was still on as usual. If there was any trouble Cerebro could wakeup Jubilee who was camped out on the floor on one of Logan's sleeping mats, which were surprisingly comfortable. So she would be the first to see him in, so no one else would hopefully be disturbed, because Scott was informed he might be here a bit late. Woken up with a thump, she looked around, "Santa," a second later there was yet another big thump. Someone was kick knocking on the door she realized. Running to go answer it, there was a complete stranger at the door, and she saw the reason why he had kicked knocked on the door, it was heavily snowing out! Oh, so he kicked knocked on the door to knock the snow out of his shoe boots as well as to loudly knock on the door to wake her up out of a dead sleep. "Uh, is your name Edward?"

"Yes, it is. Scott said someone would be up waiting for me. Oooh, oh boy, oh boy, yikes, uhh, where's your nearest bathroom, I'm about to explode, I have to go so badly. Can't find a rest area in New York, if you wanted to, and I sure wanted to, ohh. Oh I had too much coffee," he grunts as he is quickly showed to the nearest bathroom.

"Put the seatback down, when you're done, please, I have to go too." Nodding, he went right in and peed heavily, so hard that Jubilee heard it, and heard him sighing in relief!

Scott on off sleeping thought he had heard thumping and went down, to see who or what it was, after he heard and felt the door being closed in the windows. "Jubilee, so is he here?"

"Santa, no, unless he's come and gone already and I missed him. But if you mean that Edward guy, yeah, he's here. Oh, hey, Morph said his papa's name is Edward. Hey, so is that Morph's papa?"

"Yeah, it's a big surprise for him, so shhh, don't tell Morph. Where is Edward, outside getting his things?"

"No peeing, he had to go so badly when he got here, you should have heard him going pee in there; it sounded like a fire hose going off in there. Oh uhh, I'm so sorry, but I uhh, overheard you going pee in there, I couldn't help it, you were loud."

"Oh yeah, a fire hose, yeah, that's what it sure felt like, yeah. Sigh, so uh…"

"Sydney is sleeping," Jubilee interrupt guesses, that that was what Edward was about to ask.

"Oh, okay, but I really want to see him. So where am I supposed to sleep tonight? I would like to be right there in the morning, when he wakes up, I don't want to miss anything. Oh and where's your tree?"

"Oh, don't worry, you'll be woken, right up, believe me. Jubilee, bed, you can wake Edward up, at 6:30 in the morning. Trust me that will be exactly what time she will be up, I'm sure."

"Bathroom first, then I'll head off, night Scott, merry Christmas. I'll be up early, don't worry, I won't be able to sleep late. So I'll wake you up if you want."

"It's Christmas, I know, I'm overly excited too. I have to get a few things from my car."

"Scott, who's down there, is that Jubilee?"

From the balcony, "It's okay, dear, we're coming up. Is Morph asleep up there, still?"

"Yes, I think so, who, oh, that's why," she sees as she comes down, and goes and gets the lights for him as he goes out to his car and comes back in, a few moments later with a few things, just his suitcases, first. He was going to go make a second trip to his car, get the gifts after he was told where the tree is. There was no need to do that, it could be made in one trip. "Let me get that for you," taking it all with her powers, Edward didn't seem too shocked.

"Oh, so you're one with the telekinesis, Sydney told me all about you. That's pretty neat. I'll just grab the gifts, and lock up, just a minute. Hey what's with the red sunglasses at night?" Edward askes as he spots it in the light, when he comes back in, with his son's gifts. As opposed to a few moments ago, in the dim lit darkness, he only thought they were regular glasses he was wearing, not sunglasses of all things.

"I can't control my powers; and ruby quartz is the only thing, which can 100% block all of my powers. Say, Jubilee, how did you know that Sydney is Morph's real name; I sure didn't tell you that. Did Edward tell you that?" He asked after she came out of the bathroom.

"No, I asked Syd, and I only had 3 guesses to get it right, but at least he gave me a few clues. I only got it right, after looking in a book of names. Hey, are you sure he's not adopted?"

"Why, just because I have blond hair and freckles, that I don't look anything like my son, is that what you're saying?"

"Yes," she grins.

"I didn't realize you had blond hair and freckles until Jean just turned on the light and I saw it. It's hard to tell sometimes with my glasses."

"No, he sure wasn't adopted, he has to have some of his mamma's great looks, just like he has a few of my rugged good looks. Actually, you'd be surprised, at how much we're alike, that's probably why we sometimes don't get along so well sometimes, we're too much alike."

"Hey yeah he looks like Morph, they have the same high cheekbones," Scott says.

"Same brown eyes too," Jean says.

"Hmm," finding one herself, "yeah, and you're the same, body size too, by the looks of it too."

"We got a few other similarities too. So, is it possible I can, take a peek in on him tonight, while he's sleeping? Maybe tuck him in?"

"Well, if I can get the bathroom light on by his room, and the door open without him waking up, yeah, you sure can." As they went up the elevator she showed him to a room, past Morph's room, and put Edward's things in there, and got him to wait right there, as she slowly approached the door. She could hear Morph snoring; and so she waved Edward over to come closer, but stopped him before the door. Turning on the bathroom light she then quietly opened his bedroom door with her powers, and peeked on in. Sydney sighed and half turned over, half disturbed from his door being opened, but soon after, he started quietly breathe-snoring again. It was most fortunate that when he turned a bit that Morph was now facing the door, so his face was clearly visible. Otherwise, Jean would have, little to no choice, but to try to turn him over with her powers, and risk waking him up by doing so. "Okay," she whispers, pointing in.

"Ohh, oh, Sydney ohh," tearing over, it was his son; as he tried to choke back the oncoming tears and had to leave, he was about to verbally start crying. Jean slowly shut the door and turned off the light, and showed Edward to his room for the night. "You'll get to see him in the morning," she says handing him a wad of toilet paper. "Have a good sleep, Edward, and merry Christmas."

"Thank you, and merry Christmas to you as well." All was quiet after he went to the bathroom to brush and floss his teeth, before bed. When he got back in the room to which he left the light on to find it better, he looked at the grocery bag that had a few presents in it for Sydney, and sighed. Edward still had no idea where their Christmas tree was, to hide them all under there for Sydney to discover in the morning. Still, he wanted to do that, so he backtracked his way to the elevator and back to the front entrance where he met that girl Jubilee, then Scott and Jean. After going down one very long hallway, it wasn't there, he found, and backtracked and he went down the other one, and made his way into the big kitchen. "Great, I can find my way to the kitchen, but I sure can't find my way around here, sigh, especially not in the dark. How am I supposed to find anything in the dark, in a place I've never been before?"

"Would you like me to turn on the lights and help escort you to where or what you are looking for?"

Startled, he turned around, looking to whom that voice belong to, but no one was there. "Who's there, who said that?"

"I did, my name is Cerebro, and I am the Mansion's computer. So you are you a new mutant here, do you need assistance?"

"Yes. I'm not a mutant, but yes I do need help. I want to put these gifts for my son under the Christmas tree, but I don't know where it is."

"Follow me," the lights dimly lit up, to lead him to where the tree is and shut off as he walked past them, as Cerebro escorted him to the Christmas tree. Turning on all the Christmas tree lights for him, Edward smiled, it was a huge tree, and a real tree too!

"Oh, it's so beautiful, and those lights are so pretty." Putting his gifts towards the back more, Edward left the labeled card for Sydney, on the tree branch, but turned around. He also spotted a good hiding spot for morning. "Okay, I'm all done. Now I just have to find my way back upstairs and go to bed." Shutting off the tree lights; again, Edward was escorted in the same way, upstairs to the sleeping quarters. But as he got up to the top of the stairs, all the hallway lights were dimmer; they were about as bright as a nightlight is, so as to not disturb anyone, as he made his way to his bedroom. Stopping suddenly, Edward heard a door opening up, and looked down the hallway. There he was met with a big show from his son, as he quickly ducked in the room he was assigned earlier. Sydney bounced a bit, as he was muttering out something about a belt being stuck, and him not being able to get it undone to dig the worm out of the hole!

"Unh, come on, where is it. Unh, ohh, it's stuck, ohh and I'm going to be in trouble if I can't get my belt undone; if I can't dig my worm out of its hole. Come on now, oh, where is it, ugh, unh," flicking on the bathroom's nightlight, he spotted the problem. His belt got all turned around, well no wonder why he couldn't find the clasp to unfasten his belt and get his pants down! "Oh, that's it, from now on, I'm sleeping in just my underwear, I don't care how cold it is," he comments as he shuts the door, and pees.

Edward was all smiles, and nearly snickering, as he went back in his room and quietly shut the door, thanking God as he said his prayers and went to bed, "Goodnight, son, have a good sleep."
