Where the house on Pleasant Drive once stood, a charred pile of rubble now sat. The fire and rescue teams had long since gone home once the fire was contained and put out. The flames never spread to any of the other deserted homes on the block, the fire considered to have been the cause of wild and out of controlled party if the 12 bodies inside had been anything to go by.

A lone figure stood out on the side of the road, staring at the charred remains as a single tear rolled down her cheek. He was gone. It was all gone. What were the chances of saving her mother now? A cell phone rang, cutting through the silence as the woman cried on the dark, empty street.

"Hello?" She answered with a sniff.

"Damage report, Nadia." A gruff voice demanded on the other end.

"They're all dead. Gregor, Marina, all of them. It's all gone." Nadia choked out as she quickly wiped away tears as if he could see them. "And they have the chalice." She informed.

When she had arrived at the scene she had rushed into the house to see if anyone was in there and if she could save one of the most important items to the ritual. Unfortunately, all she had run into were 12 bodies, one of them being Gregor's, and all the plans and items they needed were no longer in the house. She knew that not only had Sara and Stefan escaped, but they had taken everything required to fulfill both plans. Her's and His'.

"Get that chalice back, Nadia!" He spat. "And perhaps I'll consider leaving Katherine out of this. I could always do this with just two doppelgänger souls."

"You mean three, don't you?"

"How did they escape?" He asked, ignoring Nadia's question.

"I don't know. The house was up in flames and the bodies long since burned when I got here. No telling how they got out."

"In flames you say? Since arriving in Mystic Falls, Selephia has been covering her tracks by setting the bodies of her victims on fire to sway the local authorities. No doubt she fed off everyone to recover from the effects of your little sleeping spell." The man on the other end informed, also letting it be known that he had known of Nadia's plans.

"How did you...?"

"Listen here Nadia." he said, cutting her off. "You got extremely lucky that your little stunt even worked on the Striga. It's only because of feeding from an older soul that she has been slightly off kilter as of late, but I'm guessing that particular window of time is quickly coming to a close."

"What do mean, coming to a close?" Nadia asked. What the hell could he have meant by that? Despite what she thought she knew about the Striga, it was clear that He knew far more than he ever let on to his followers.

"It's not important. You won't be able to stop it from happening and if you try to stop her, it'll cost you your life. Then again, if you do try then I won't have to consider sparing Katherine for you since you'll be dead and all." the man chuckled before he quickly grew silent, as if a thought had come to him. "Do you know if they were held in the basement as ordered?"

"Um, they should've been. I never made it back in time." Nadia said though she was unsure.

"With only one guard in at a time?"

"I have no doubt that your orders were followed to the letter, Sir." Nadia couldn't imagine Gregor taking any chances where the Striga was concerned. They weren't even sure if they were going to be able to capture her. The main plan was to capture Stefan and place him downstairs in the holding cells and weaken him by sunlight in order to properly subdue him in preparation for binding Pelicarpo's soul with Stefan's body. Sara's placement down there had been Gregor's idea seeing as they believed it would trap the weakened Striga in with her only viable source of feeding. They knew that she would do all that she could to not kill her lover's brother.

"Then how were they able to get out of their cells with both of them being in a weakened state? Unless..." he trailed off.

"Unless?" Nadia encouraged. The line was silent for a few moments. Nadia had the check the screen to ensure that they hadn't been disconnected.

"It seems the Striga did not head my warnings. She's further involved herself with the doppelgängers." He growled out. "Nadia, I want you to deliver a message to the Striga for me." He said and Nadia nodded as she was given her orders.

Back at the Boarding House…

Down in the kitchen the faucet ran as Sara stared out the window. She just couldn't stop thinking about her past no matter how hard she tried. The past plagued her mind despite the distractions she set up for herself. She had joined Damon and their friends downstairs as they had talked and laughed. She listened to them share stories from childhood all the way up to high school. When the booze started flowing heavier than what they had had during dinner she was grateful for that too.

When she noticed Damon's eye start to twitch at the amount of alcohol that was being consumed from his supply she took the opportunity to take him upstairs and have her wicked way with him. She wasn't sure who the distraction of sex was for more, him or her. They had gone upstairs around 10pm while they're friends stayed downstairs. They had sex on every available surface in their bedroom; on the bed, up against the wall, on the dresser, the floor, and even in the bathroom. When Damon had heard the others coming up to bed around midnight, he had suggested that they take a bath together after they had finished their latest round of love making on the bathroom counter top.

Since getting together with Damon, taking a warm, relaxing bath together had very quickly become one of Sara's favorite things to do. Damon would climb in behind her and pull her against him with one arm while the other would run a wash cloth over her body. It could lead to either gentle caressing while she relaxed against him putting her in calm, almost dreamy like state or it could turn sexual and lead to making love in the tub. Either way there was usually a 50/50 shot of Damon giving her a massage after getting out of the tub which could easily end in another round of love making. Tonight had been no different.

They had a bath together which lead to slow, sensual love making in the tub and then Damon had carried her into the bed room, placed her on the bed and then massaged both her front and back. Even though she'd been nearly asleep from his attentions, she had could still feel his erection against the back of her thigh as he massaged her lower back. Knowing Damon didn't care if they were to go again or not, seeing as they didn't always have sex after the massage despite his always ready to go member, made Sara want him all the more. So, they had had another round of love making. The number of rounds that they were on were lost on Sara as were the number of orgasms Damon had given her in the last four hours. After that last round, they had officially gone to bed with Sara curled against Damon as he held her in his arms.

Sara listened as Damon's breathing quickly evened out as he fell asleep beside her, but despite all the strenuous activities of the day sleep eluded her. She laid in bed for an hour wide awake before she slipped out of bed. She put on her black silk robe and with a glance at the still sleeping vampire in the bed she exited their bedroom and padded her way down stairs. So now here she stood in the kitchen, the water running with intention of filling a glass, yet it sat empty on the counter beside her.

"You know the water has a better chance of making it into the glass if you put it under the faucet."

Sara's gazed focused on the figure that reflected behind her in the window, causing her to snap out of her reverie. She moved her focus from the window to the glass next to her, picking it up and holding it under the running water till she was satisfied with the level. She turned the taps off before downing the water. It did not have the effect she had desired it too.

"Everything alright?" Stefan asked as he moved towards the island that separate them.

"Fine." Sara said as she turned around after placing the empty glass in the sink.

"Well today has certainly been… interesting."

"I believe you mean yesterday." Sara corrected seeing as it was near 3:30 in the morning.

"Right. Yesterday." Stefan said as he stared at the Striga. He had never seen her look so...lost? Was that the correct word? He wasn't sure. Distracted certainly, but he could see it went deeper than that. "Sara..." he started as he moved to go around the island.

"Stop." Sara commanded causing him to halt his movements and stand stock still. "Don't come any closer. I know why you're down here Stefan and I know it's not see if I'm alright." She knowingly accused as she stared into his red tinted, hungry looking eyes. There was a reason why all her slaves were human. She knew the effect her blood would have on Stefan. How addictive it could be to a vampire.

Stefan wanted to be angry with her for stopping him, for denying him what he wanted, what he so desperately craved. But when she had commanded him to stop, he did so without thinking. His emotions disappeared and he felt empty, void of all emotion till after a moment and fear slowly crept over his entire being. "Sara." He whispered. "What's happening?" She could hear the desperation in his voice.

Sara sighed. "Get me a drink." With his orders Stefan sped into the living room, grabbed a bottle of bourbon and returned to the kitchen. He placed the bottle on the island between them. Sara had grabbed two glasses from the cupboard and poured them both a drink. She downed hers and when Stefan didn't touch his glass she sighed. "Drink."

Stefan did as he was told. "Sara?" He asked when he put the empty glass down, his eyes pleading with her to answer him.

"It's alright Stefan. It will stop." She assured him. She'd make sure of it. "Tell me something Stefan, how do you think it is that I control victims?" she asked as she leaned back against the counter.

"You mean like your contact Sinjin?" he asked.

Sara nodded. "You didn't think I controlled them by means of compulsion, did you?"

"Actually we though it had something to do with the souls you fed off." His answer caused Sara to smirk.

"Stefan, souls are what I feed on to survive, like vampires feed off blood. Except instead of desiccating, the creature that I am would be able to run free. As you know I've never allowed myself to lose control like that." She said as she thought about the times she had feasted on entire villages and that it had not been due to a lack of self-control. "I can use blood to help manage my need to consume souls, but it's not ideal. Kind of like how instead of human blood you can get away with animal blood, but it leaves you in a weakened state."

Stefan nodded in understanding. "And with animal blood, my control was never that great when around human blood. It took years of practicing self-control till I could fully function among the human population. Despite all the times I fell off the bunny wagon, Lexi never did give up on me." Stefan recalled all the times his best friend had helped him work on his control. Now he could feed on human blood without as much of an issue, but for safe measure he was still on the animal blood to help keep his ripper side from coming out. Now instead of craving human blood after feeding off Sara, all he could think about was her blood and he knew it couldn't have been because she was a doppelganger. Neither Elena's or Katherine's blood had affected him the way Sara's did. "What it is about your blood, Sara? It's so..." Stefan couldn't figure out the right word, addictive just didn't seem to cover everything that he was feeling.

"Intoxicating?" Sara suggested and Stefan nodded. "That's because it is. It's toxic, Stefan. It's how I control my victims. Anyone that ingests my blood becomes under my command. When I found out what my blood was capable of doing, I was terrified. When others found out, I was hunted. Unfortunately for them, in order for my blood to work it has to be ingested directly. It can't be collected and then given to unsuspecting victims. There was once a time where I had been held captive, in chains, blind folded and gagged so I couldn't do anything, but be a never-ending supply of mind controlling blood."

"Why not do your whole smoke trick?" Stefan asked. Damon had told him about how she had not only transported the both of them back to his car when they were chased by Pelicarpo, but also his car. Stefan at first thought what in the world his brother had been smoking that weekend, but the more they had gotten to know Sara he realized that it was something that he could see the Striga capable of doing. Unfortunately, the moment he had suggested such trick he felt stupid. Obviously, this had all happened before she had learned about that particular attribute. Her raised eyebrow had told him as such. "Right, ah…" Stefan cleared his throat. "Sorry. Please continue."

Sara fought the urge to roll her eyes, but carried on with her story. "I would be sliced open and people would be forced to drink my blood in the hopes of some sick, perverted dictator would be able to gain control over the human race. People would ingest my blood and like magic they were healed of any illness, they were stronger, faster, their intelligence grew, and their aging nearly stopped. They believed my blood was the key to immortality, but they were wrong. So wrong." Sara paused. Immortality was not all it was cracked up to be and what these humans thought they had stumbled upon would lead to their down fall. "The effects of my blood only work while it's active in the system. Its affects could take hold in mere minutes in humans, seconds in vampires, as you now know."

Stefan nodded in agreement. The moment her blood had touched his lips he had felt a change, a hunger that was so strong he had at first chalked it up to the fact that he hadn't had blood straight from the vein in months. But when she had tried to pull away, it was like he was a dog and someone was trying to take away his favorite chew toy and he had clamped on harder to her wrist. If it weren't for the fact that she had commanded him to stop, he would've kept on feeding till he had completely drained her, something he was certain wasn't even possible.

"It could last up to a couple of weeks in humans before the effects would run out and more blood would need to be consumed. It doesn't stop aging or death, only prolongs it unless I were to feed from an affected soul. Only then would live forever unless I decided to end their mindless eternity as my slave. Only I can command those that ingest my blood and command them I did." Sara paused as the memories came flooding back to her. She hadn't always been a kind person; she had gone through some dark times in her life. They weren't called the Dark Ages for nothing. She had killed without care. Control was only an issue when she fed, but that didn't mean she still couldn't kill and have fun. With some of the wars that had taken place throughout history she could honestly say that she had caused some of them. Some had been out of boredom, others she had been seen as the prize. Neither side had won those particular wars. "I've slaughtered masses of people over the years. In each major country I have a small base with people that I have controlled for centuries, some of which I've had to destroy in the recent years that I've been run out of due to this thing with the travelers."

Stefan thought for a moment that she was only telling him all this because she was going to kill him and not in the 'snap-your-neck' dead sense, but 'stake-you-in-the-heart' dead. However, he recalled the fact that the blood only affected someone while it was still in their system, which meant that it would eventually ware off.

"Because you're a vampire and feed on blood you find it addictive. Despite being under my control and knowing that you are, you still want more. The blood will last longer in your system than that of a human because of your need for blood. It won't just pass through your system; it'll make you want more." Sara informed him as she moved around the island and came to stand directly in front of him.

"How long?" Stefan asked, though he feared the answer.

"Till death. I know this because I've enslaved vampires in the past. I've found while they're the stronger race to enslave, they're not the better one. They constantly want more blood. However, the moment they die it's like they never tasted my blood in the first place. And since you're a vampire you don't have to die-die. A simple snap of the neck and you'll be free." She said and before either of them knew it, Stefan's neck had been snapped and his body fell to the floor.

Sara looked up from Stefan's 'dead' body to find a seething Damon before her. " Damon." She whispered. She had never seen him look so pissed. "How much of that did you hear?" She asked.

"Enough." He said as he advanced on her. Sara backed up till her back came in contact with the island. "Your blood is toxic. It's how you enslave people. You let my brother fed off you!" By the end he was shouting and she could tell he was more pissed off by the fact that his brother had fed from her than anything. After all, she had known what blood sharing meant to vampires.

Damon didn't know if he should feel betrayed or not. He had woken up to find Sara not beside him and when he discovered she wasn't in their rooms he went in search of her. He had heard voices coming from the kitchen and he was going to join his brother and girlfriend when he picked up on their conversation.

'What is it about your blood Sara? It's so..." he had heard Stefan say.

'Intoxicating?" Sara had finished for him.

Damon had wanted to storm in and confront the two of them, but when Sara continued to talk about the affect her blood had on people all he could think about was the time they blood shared that night in the hotel. It hadn't been the last time either. He knew he loved her. She had been the first to say those three words, but she never told him to say it back to her. Sure, she could get bossy in bed sometimes, but he never felt like he had to what she said. He wanted to. From the way they had been talking, the way she described the affects her blood had, he couldn't recall ever having any of them. He didn't understand it. Was any of it real?

More importantly, he wanted to know why his brother had fed from his girlfriend. He remembered how pissed Stefan had gotten when he had told Elena to feed from him when she struggled to keep down blood. What the hell had happened to them today, er, yesterday? They had never gone into any real detail. When he learned that snapping his neck would keep his brother from trying to, in his perspective, hump his girlfriend like a dog in heat he had done just that. It had been briefly satisfying before he turned his focus his attention on the woman he considered to be the love of his life.

"Damon, I can explain." She said as she searched his face, trying to figure out her best approach.

"I just need to know one thing." He said as he released a heavy breath. "Is. It. Real?" He said through gritted teeth.

"Real? Is what real?" She asked, unsure of what he was referring to.

"Us."

His answer made her realize what he was referring to and she quickly moved towards him and took his face in her hands. "Of course it's real. We're real. I... I would never..." she said as she tried to reassure him. "After everything I've told you, what we've been through, how could you think that I would... Damon, I love you." She said as she captured his lips in her. She was desperate to make him understand. Though Damon did not return her kiss he did place his hands on her hips. He knew her better than anyone here and he knew that when she said those three words that she meant them with her entire being. Just as he did.

"I just don't understand." He said as he pulled away from her, looking from her to back at his brother.

There were so many answers she could give him; she wasn't sure which one he was looking for. "What baby? What don't you understand? Tell me, and I'll explain." She said as she took a step back, her eyes pleading with him to talk to her. She wanted nothing more than to reach out and hold him, but she respected that he needed some space.

"There are so many things." He said as he ran a hand through his hair. "Let's start with why you let my brother fed off you. Why would you do that if you knew the effect it would have?" He demanded. That was the one thing that really rubbed him the wrong way so to speak.

"We'd been captured. We woke up in these cells in the basement that house. We were both weak, I hadn't fed this week and Stefan isn't exactly super man on his bunny diet. Not to mention the bars had been soaked in vervain. They had taken his daylight ring." Sara sighed as she recalled what happened back in the basement. "They only let a single guard in at a time, it wasn't enough for me to feed. You know I can't have a successful feed from only one soul, I needed more!" she exclaimed as she began to pace the kitchen. "And he never got close enough for either of us to grab him so Stefan could feed. He would open these vents that were placed along the walls and let sunlight in and Stefan would scream." Sara had to stop, her emotions were getting the best of her. Despite their weird relationship, she still cared about Stefan. She was dating his brother, she considered him family. "They were trying weaken him to a point where he'd be more compliant. I could see that much."

"Why didn't you do the whole smoke thing?!" Damon shouted. He wanted to be skeptical, but he also wanted to just forget about everything and take her back up to bed. Thank her for saving his baby brother. Damn it!

"I could've, but I had already been struggling with my control. Had I traveled through the bars I would've lost it, mainly because it was Stefan I was trapped with. You know what he is to me. Had it been anyone else I was trapped with I would have done just that, but dammit Damon I couldn't risk that! Because I knew once I started feeding, I wouldn't be able to stop. With as many souls as he has attached to him, Damon it's a death sentence. I couldn't do that to him, to you, to Elena. I couldn't take him away from all of you." She pleaded with him to understand that she had no choice in what she had done and that she had planned on making it right from the start.

"But you could feed him your blood? Take away his free will!" Damon spat as he ran a hand threw his hair. Now it was his turn to start pacing.

"It was the only way!" she cried out. "I couldn't let him suffer and I knew my blood would not only heal him, but save him from further pain. When we were all outside when you guys got there he still didn't have his ring. My blood kept him safe like I knew it would and then I fed on the travelers in the house." She said as she turned her gaze from her lover to his brother and then back. "It's over now though. When he wakes up, he will be back in control. I won't be able to order him around." She said before smirking. "Well I can, he'll just have the ability to say no." She giggled and Damon couldn't help, but let a smirk escape. He knew how bossy his girl could get, hell she'd been holding the reins since she got here, but he wouldn't have her any other way. He understood why she did what she had done. Unfortunately, there was still another matter to be addressed.

"And what about me? If your blood can control others, why didn't it work on me that night at the hotel or any other time I've fed off you?" he asked.

"Because I wouldn't let it. I'd never do that to you, Damon. That night in the hotel, I fed from you as well. We blood shared at the same time."

"So you what, you took away the part that made your blood give you control?"

Sara shook her head. "If that was the answer Damon, don't you think that the times where you have fed on me solo would've given me control? Yet they never had. You've never felt like you were compelled or that your humanity was off around me after, did you?" she asked though she was certain that the answer was no.

Damon shook his head. "No, but you said your blood was additive to vampires and you know I can never get enough of you." He growled, his eyes turning a shade darker. Her blood was better than the sweetest wine he had ever tasted.

"That's because on that first night I made you immune to the effects of my blood. You enjoy the taste of my blood more because we are together romantically not because your affected by its addictive properties to vampires." She stated like it was the most obvious thing in the world and to be honest, Damon had to give her that one. Blood sharing was very personal and often only done in romantic relationships. "When I drank from you at the same time it neutralized the effects of my blood." She stated before she shuffled her feet awkwardly. "Forgive me for being a bit forward here, but it's like my blood recognizes you as my mate. Damon, you are everything to me and I'd never use you in such a way." She said as much as it pained her that he thought she would do such a thing to him. She'd taken advantage of many people in her long life, but she had never had romantic feelings for them like she did Damon. She hadn't lied when she said that she had never allowed herself to fall in love since she was human. Damon had been the first to crack through that wall the moment she had met him. The term soulmates had been coined for a reason, she had never thought it possible till the day she had met him.

Damon's expression softened at the answers she gave him and suddenly he felt like an ass, though in the moment he'd been in the right to question her. She had never given him reason to doubt her before, why should he have started now? As unorthodox as it was, all she had really done was save his brother's live. "I'm s..."

"Don't you dare!" She snapped, interrupting him. She knew he was about to apologize and she didn't want to hear it. She knew that no one would have liked what she had done and though she wasn't sorry for saving Stefan's life, she was sorry that she hadn't been strong enough to have gone about it in a different way. "If anyone is sorry here, it's me." she said as she bowed her head in shame.

"It's true." Groaned Stefan from the floor as he finally came too. "She apologized to me after she made me stop feeding. I didn't know what it was for at the time, but I quickly found out." Stefan said as he stood up and joined the couple. "Sara was right to do what she did Damon. You shouldn't be mad at her. I'm not."

"You're not?" Sara asked, stunned. She had expected him to be at least a little guarded when he came to.

"No. You did what you had in order for me to survive. I may have gotten us out of there, but it was because of you. You saved me, Sara. Thank you." Stefan smiled. He moved to give her a hug, but Damon's hand on his chest stopped him.

"Alight, I think that's enough little brother. Don't make me snap your neck a second time." Damon said as he glared at his brother. As much as he secretly liked the fact that Sara and Stefan were getting along despite the obvious issues they had, he liked it even better that they didn't actually hang out unless it was in a group. Though he knew Sara wanted nothing to do with anyone looked like her former lover, that didn't mean he wanted his brother sniffing around his girl. There was that whole fated doppelganger curse after all.

"Damon." Sara chided weakly, shaking her head. She didn't take it any further knowing Damon was still dealing with his own insecurities.

"You know what, I think I'm just gonna head back up to bed. Good night." Stefan said before vanishing from sight. Damon turned his gaze from the spot his brother had just vacated to the Striga.

"So are we okay?" She asked him, her eyes begging him to say that they were.

Damon didn't answer her. Instead he pulled her into him and captured her lips in a passionate, possessive, soul searing kiss and damn did it reach her soul. Damon broke the kiss, but tightened his grip around her waist, knowing he was the only thing keep her up right.

"We are if you can forgive me for being an insecure, jealous jackass of a boyfriend." He replied giving her a small, reassuring smile mixed with his version of puppy dog eyes. The look was rather childish and Sara imagined it was a look he had used often to get out of trouble as a child.

"Well if that's your form of an apology, you really don't leave room for a girl to say no." She giggled as she shifted her hands from his chest to behind his neck. Damon gave her his trade mark, pantie combusting smirk, but Sara could still see the trepidation behind it. "And for the record, you know you have no reason to be jealous, right?" she said to reassure him.

"I know I don't. Not from you." He said as he pulled her closer to him.

"Or from Stefan." She insisted. "He loves you and he's in love with Elena. I love you Damon and only you. Never forget that."

"I won't. Scouts honor." He swore as he brought a hand up to his forehead, giving a mock salute.

"Did they even have scouts back then?" Sara asked, referring to his time as a human in the 1800's. She knew he'd been a solider, but unless she had some direct relation with an ongoing war, she tried to stay away from politics. Not to mention the fact that she hadn't even been in the States during that century.

"No, but I'm sure I've eaten a few." He replied nonchalantly with a shrug.

"Nice, Damon." Sara said as she rolled her eyes. "I'm sure I've eaten the souls of vegetarians, but that doesn't make me one." She chuckled

"Do plants have souls?" Damon inquired with a chuckle.

"How the hell do I know! Animals have souls, but that doesn't mean I can feed off them."

"What, no bunny diet?"

"Defiantly not. I'll stick to people."

"Good. I like that we can go out and share a meal together." Damon said, feigning seriousness although he had actually meant it. The feeding frenzy during that night in the hotel had not been the last meal they had shared together. Every once and a while the two of them would go out for dinner, finding a couple to their liking and feast on their blood and souls before having a night of hot and heavy love making.

Sara laughed. "Me too." She grinned before hugging her vampire.

Damon wrapped his arms around her before sliding his hands down her back and over her ass. He quickly lifted her into his arms causing her to let out a small squeal. As he turned them around he noticed the half empty bottle of bourbon on the counter. How much had everyone had to drink tonight after he and Sara went up to bed? The mere thought of his depleted alcohol stock caused him to groan in anguish.

Hearing his groan caused Sara to turn her attention to the bottle of alcohol. "We'll go shopping tomorrow. On me." She said, trying not to laugh at him. He was acting like a child whose favorite toy had got taken away.

Damon looked at her, an eye brow raised. "Like hell am I letting you pay for my alcohol." He said firmly. They were always arguing about who would pay for what. If she would only get it through that pretty head of hers that it was his job to take care of her now.

"Now who said anything about paying." Sara grinned as she reached over and grabbed the bottle off the counter. "Now, to bed Mr. Salvatore."

Damon gave her a matching smirk. "Whatever you say, Baby." He grinned before whisking them away upstairs.

Only after hearing their bedroom door click shut did Katherine come out of the basement. She had gone downstairs for a couple of blood bags and figured she'd snag a bottle of wine while she was down there. While trying to determine which bottle she wanted she had heard someone come into the kitchen and turn on the faucet. After finally picking a bottle, she was going to go speed back upstairs when she heard someone else come into the kitchen and ultimately ended up eavesdropping on Stefan and Sara's conversation.

When she heard about Sara feeding Stefan her blood, she thought she finally had a way to condemn the immortal bitch and thus breaking off her relationship with Damon and turning everyone against her. She had to contain herself from busting the two of them and boy had she been never so happy for holding her tongue the moment she heard Damon join the two of them. Apparently, she hadn't been the only one eavesdropping. She was sure that Damon would've kicked the bitch out of the house, but damn it the Striga knew exactly what to say to win Damon back over! As always the Striga had an answer for everything and she played Damon for the love-sick fool that he was.

"It's like my blood recognizes you as my mate, Damon." Katherine said in a mocking, high pitched tone even though their voices were exactly alike. She had been so pissed off at the fact that the Salvatore brothers had just forgiven the woman that the bottle of wine in her hand had shattered due to the sheer force of her grip. Shards of glass flew everywhere as the wine splashed all over the cold concrete.

"That fucking bitch is just too good!" she sneered before stomping her way up the basement steps. As she reached for a towel to clean up her mess a thought came to her. Only the brothers and herself knew about this, she could still get the upper hand and tell sweet, little, naive Elena about how her loving boyfriend blood shared with the Striga. A sick and twisted grin broke out on Katherine's lips, she could still turn the others against Sara as long as Stefan didn't tell Elena before she could. The thought of Stefan telling Elena what had really happened in that house made her laugh. Goodie-Two-Shoes St. Stefan would never tell his little girlfriend if he could help it and with that Katherine sped off to her bedroom, not even bothering to clean up the mess she had made.

A/N: Okay that's chapter 12. I had seriously considered having Damon kick Sara out, but with everything else planned, I didn't think that scene really worked. Plus, we wouldn't get to see more of the vindictive bitch side of Katherine that we all love to hate.

Will Katherine get to tell Elena what happened and turn everyone against Sara? What was the message Nadia was ordered to give to Sara and does she plan on avenging her dead lover? What's so important about this chalice that it seems not even Sara knows about and when will this mysterious Master reveal himself?

Keep a look out for the answers in upcoming chapters. Please review!
