Order 14. Nutella Slush with Extra Boba

"Ugh! Why are you over boiling?" Bunny whined as she lowered the temperature for the pot of water that was the current bane of her existence. She tried to stir it with a wooden spoon to prevent extra spillage.

"You still don't know how to do something as simple as boil water?" Mina's voice floated from the guest bathroom where she was busy trying to do something with her hair.

"Shut up!" Bunny hissed. She was just trying to make spaghetti and it was already coming out wrong.

A dark chuckle escaped the man by her side who was given the duty of chopping up onions to put into the meat sauce. Which he was also in charge of. Darien Shields was the second bane of Bunny's existence. It had been a few days since he had proposed (was it really a proposal?) that they get hitched at the courthouse. Which was so unromantic.

Bunny had yet to give him an answer, and her father still didn't know that she was with child. Although he had liked Darien when they had met. It was not a surprise that the man had made a good impression on her family.

"Do you want me to do it?" Darien asked, a teasing smile on his handsome face.

Bunny wasn't sure if she wanted to kiss him or slap him. He was infuriatingly good looking. They hadn't done anything physically romantic since their week together in Hawaii but the electricity between them was still there.

She wanted so badly to touch him.

"It might be better if you do," Mina chimed from her corner of the apartment.

"Shut up Mina!" Bunny repeated. The water was at an even boil now as she added the box of pasta to it.

The truth was that Bunny was not culinary savvy. Originally she was just going to order a few pizzas and call it a night. However, she was craving spaghetti and meat sauce and she could not shake it off. She hoped that Darien added enough garlic to the meat sauce.

Darien was sweet about it and had even offered to cook all of it himself. But it was Bunny's place and he was a guest.

The girls were going to be coming for dinner to meet Darien. Bunny hoped they only had a positive opinion about him, Mina had already given her seal of approval.

"It's going to over boil again," Darien's smooth voice washed over Bunny, making her lose her train of thought. She bit her lip as he reached around her, his arm brushing against her own.

She peered up at him with half lidded eyes. He froze for a moment before leaning down and pressing a gentle kiss on her ready lips.

Her hand was on his arm and his chest was against her back. The angle was awkward, but Bunny was reveling in it. The taste of him nearly drove her mad.

He pressed more firmly against her, and Bunny could feel him becoming hard as their mouths opened and their tongues touched tentatively.

"Well," Mina's voice caused the two to hurriedly jump apart. "If it's going to be like this then I'll gladly stay with Amy tonight." Her grin was large, amusement was clear on her face.

Darien's face became an interesting shade of red as he looked down at the cutting board he was originally working on. The blush was slowly creeping its way up to his ears.

Bunny, on the other hand, gave her cousin a matching grin. "That might be for the best. Wouldn't want to scar you."

"Poor Darien, look at his face!" Mina cackled while hopping onto a bar stool. "So innocent and pure."

"Shut up Mina," Darien rolled his eyes, a smile beginning to tug on his lips. "The spaghetti should be done by now Bun. You'll want to check it."

Bunny nodded and did just that before giving him room to create the meat sauce.

Once he was finished cooking and Bunny set up her coffee pot for after dinner drinks a knock resounded on the door.

"Must be Amy," Mina guessed from her spot on the couch as Bunny got up to get the door.

Bunny nodded, "she's always punctual."

She flung open the door without a second thought but was surprised to find Andrew on the other side of her door.

"Hey!" She greeted with a perky smile that quickly faded when she noticed the look on his face. "Are you okay? Where's Lita?"

"I was actually wondering the same thing." Andrew stated, the frown on his face deepening. "She didn't come home from work, I was hoping that she was here and that I just overlooked her car in the parking lot."

Bunny moved aside so that Andrew could enter the apartment, "She's not answering her phone?"

Andrew shook his head. He just then noticed Darien and Mina. "Hi," He extended his hand for Darien, "I'm Andrew."

"I'm Darien. Have you tried searching for her phone to find her location?" Darien asked.

Andrew shook his head.

"You can use my computer!" Bunny jumped up to get her laptop.

"I'll call Amy and Rei," Mina stated while getting her phone out to dial their numbers.

Andrew typed away on Bunny's computer, while Mina chatted on the phone with Rei. It was then that Bunny's cell phone began to ring.

"Oh!" She exclaimed, "Its Lita! Hello?"

"Buns!" Lita's voice was frantic, "Can you please come and get me?"

Bunny frowned, "Where are you? Andrew is here, we're all really worried."

"My car got a flat and I have zero bars. I've been trying to call everyone. Can Andrew come get me? I'm on the 428 south. I'm waiting for a tow truck since, smart me, I cancelled AAA like a week ago and I don't have a car jack otherwise I would have changed the tire myself." Lita's words were rushed, she was obviously afraid that her call was going to drop.

"She's on 428 south with a flat tire waiting for a tow truck, she had no bars so she couldn't reach you." Bunny told Andrew before going back on the phone to Lita, "He'll be there as soon as possible."

"Thank you!" Lita sighed, "I'll be here."

They hung up and Bunny stared over at Andrew. The look of relief on his face caused her own body to relax.

"Rei says that if you pick her up on the way that you guys can use her roadside assistance." Mina stated.

Andrew nodded, "Yeah, I don't think I have a jack in my car either. We got so used to having that, and here we thought we were saving money since we're spending so much on the wedding. Thanks guys, I was really freaking out."

"That's totally normal, I'll go with you." Mina waved him off while searching for her shoes. She came back to the living room after putting them off and looked at Bunny, "Amy was called into the hospital. One of her patients died, she was on the way there when I called. She said that she might not be able to make dinner tonight."

"Poor Amy," Bunny shook her head, "it's okay. Who knows how long it'll take to get Lita and all that. We can just reschedule for tomorrow."

Mina's eyes darted from Bunny to Darien, a slow grin crawling across her face, "sure. I'll let Rei and Lita know that. I'll probably spend the night at Rei's, so I'll see you in the morning."

Bunny stuck her tongue out at Mina before she walked out of the door and closed it shut behind her.

"And then there were two." Darien commented. "Are you hungry? Would you like to eat?"

The craving for pasta was suddenly stronger than ever. Bunny nodded eagerly, "oh my God, yes."

Dinner was eaten with a gusto that Bunny did not realize she had towards food. And she loved food.

They watched a comedy afterwards before taking respective showers and getting ready to turn in early for the night. It was odd, not much was said between the two of them but they were comfortable with one another.

Bunny had never felt so at ease with a man before. Not even with Diamond, whom she had been with for nearly a decade. She knew she should be on better guard, but she couldn't bring herself to be around Darien.

When they curled up next to each other in bed, it felt right. As if their bodies were built to be together. They shared soft kisses before drifting off to sleep by nine at night.

It was two in the morning and Bunny could not sleep. She sat in the living room watching infomercials on low. The heartburn she was experiencing felt like burning lava coming up her chest. Perhaps all of the extra garlic had been a bad idea.

As promised Mina had not come back.

She was contemplating going online and ordering the Shamwow™ when Darien moseyed out of her bedroom. His hair was sticking up in odd angels and he looked half asleep.

He slumped besides her on the couch and stared at the TV for a moment. "I've gotten used to you sleeping next to me. You not being there woke me up." He was using an playful tone as he ran his hands through his dark hair.

"Sorry," Bunny shrugged, "I have really bad heartburn."

"They say that means that you're going to have a hairy baby," Darien glanced over at her. "I know you don't want to get married, but I do want to co-parent with you Bun."

Bunny could feel her heart skip a beat. She had been hoping to avoid this conversation. "I just don't want to get married just because I'm pregnant." And she didn't appreciate that it almost felt as if he were bullying her into a relationship.

"I can respect that," Darien nodded, "to be honest I did not imagine myself to not be married or even in a relationship when I'm about to have my first child. I can guess it was the same for you."

"I've always imagined a big white wedding with tons of roses," Bunny sighed while tugging at her braided hair, "but things happen."

"Yeah, they do." Darien agreed.

They were silent for a moment, each lost in thought.

Darien suddenly turned so that he was facing her, their knees were touching and his large hand grabbed her smaller one, lacing their fingers. "I like you, a lot. It's forward of me, but ever since Hawaii I couldn't' stop thinking about you. And I don't mind sexually. You've left this impression, and I had always hoped that I would have seen you again. I'd like to fall in love with you Buns. If this is going to happen, I'd like to get to know you, to marry you, to grow old with you. I want that."

"Darien," Bunny could feel her face heat up at his forwardness. "I…I want that too. I'd like to try too."

She felt a fluttering in her lower stomach. Too realistic to be butterflies. The baby, their baby, was moving its little shrimp self around. Bunny placed her hand on her lower abdomen and squeezed Darien's hand.

"We'll figure everything out," She promised before leaning forward to kiss him. Just like before it was heated. Their bodies were naturally drawn to each other. Her hands found their way into his hair as she ended up straddling his lap. Their tongues met. It felt rushed, but Bunny had been wanting this all day.

Darien suddenly pulled away and stared up at her with dark eyes, "no. If this is going where I think it's going, I want to wait."

"...What?" Bunny stared down at him from her spot on his lap as he took her hands out of his hair and held them firmly.

"I'm serious about wanting to get to know you Bun. It may seem ridiculous considering the circumstances, but I'd like to wait."

She felt like tearing her hair out. Seriously? Yet a part of Bunny melted. He wanted to get to actually know her, she knew that he wanted her just as badly, she could feel it against her inner thigh.

Instead of pointing out that she was already pregnant and there really wasn't any risk of that happening again, Bunny let out a soft sigh. No meant no. She would respect what he wanted.

"OK," She crawled off of his lap and stood before him, still holding hands. She liked how their hands looked together.

He kissed her knuckles before standing, "come on let's go back to bed."

"Yeah." Bunny turned off the TV while following him back into her bedroom.
