I left my house at 7 to pick up Cat and Beck, and pulled up to Vega's house exactly at 8. After flicking Beck in the ear several times and finally threatening him with my scissors he slid into the back seat with Cat. Vega came out of her house a few seconds later and holy shit I had to remind myself to breath.
Despite her protests that the outfit she showed me wasn't slutty, when she walked out I could see both Beck and Cat staring. I'm brought out of the day dream I was having about her when she opened the car door and got in.
"Hi guys" Vega said smiling but I could tell that she was nervous now that she was no longer in her territory anymore.
"Hi miss Vega! You look really pretty!" Cat said in her usual annoying upbeat voice.
"Yeah Miss Vega you look nice." Beck said clearly trying not to come off as creepy or flirty.
"Thank you guys you look nice as well." I can see Vega trying to hide the blush that's appeared on her cheeks.
I force myself not to laugh at her for blushing at something like that. "It's still slutty, but you pull off slutty well." I say looking her straight in the eyes for half a second before pulling out onto the road.
If Vega was blushing before now she's completely red. I can't help the smirk that appears on my face knowing it's because of me. I seriously have to use all my strength not to start laughing when I see the looks on Beck and Cats face. I forgot this is the first time they've seen Vega and I together in private, and the first time they've seen me actually flirt with her.
"Shut up Jade for the last time it's not slutty!" You can hear the embarrassment in her voice.
The car ride gets awkwardly quite after that. Vega looks like she's having a panic attack, Beck is still in shock that I'm actually flirting with our teacher, and Cat is busy eating candy. I finally get tired of the silence and hook my phone up to the radio when were at a red light. I purposely pick out an inappropriate song and hit play.
"Start rolling the blunts now were about thirty minutes away." I tell Beck as the first notes begin to come through the speakers.
"Alright." Beck says before pulling out the weed and the swishers. "I love this song." I say as I give Vega a very friendly smirk. I turn the song up and begin to sing along looking right at Vega as I do.

"Look were going to a concert and I don't know about you but I prefer being high for these events. So you can either be a lame adult and try and stop us, or you could loosen up for once." I say looking into her eyes so she knows I'm challenging her. It's pointless really since I already know the girl can't say no to save her life but I humor her anyway.
After about twenty seconds of staring she finally gives in. "Fine but I'm not doing it." She says while pouting. It's kind of cute.
"No one said you had to." I say before lighting up. By the time we get to the venue Cat, Beck, and I finished the blunt and are properly high.
"Oh my gosh I'm so excited!" Vega says after finally relaxing and enjoying herself. I just smile and wrap my arm around her shoulder as we walk in. We show our tickets and head in to our seats.
"Oh my gosh these seats are amazing!" Vega squeals.
"Becks cousin is a promoter so we get the good seats." I say looking around for the bar.
"That's so cool I bet you have seen some really cool people play." Vega says to Beck.
"Yeah it's pretty cool, a couple months ago we saw nine inch nails and I think the foo fighters are coming in a couple months so were probably gonna go to that." Beck says much calmer now that he's high.
"Yeah we live fascinating fast paced lives you only see on TV" I say to Vega before turning to Beck.
"I found the bar lets go."
"Cool, Cat what do you want?" Beck asks.

"Knew it. What about you sally peaches what do you want?" I ask looking at Vega.
"That's not my name!" she says getting irritated.
"Well it's my name for you now tell me what you want."
"Just water will be fine." She says staring back at me.
"No, you don't get high I'm at least getting you tipsy now tell me what you want before I leave and make you drink whatever I come back with."
"Wait how are you going to buy alcohol you're still in high school?" She asks genuinely confused.
"Yeah I am but my fake id says I'm 23 now tell me what you want." I say getting impatient.
"Jade I'm not having you buy me alcohol it's irresponsible and-"that's all I heard before turning around and walking to the bar with Beck.
"So." Beck says while were waiting in line.
"So what?" I ask rolling my eyes.
"I can't believe you're actually doing this."
"And why not? I told you I'm gonna win and this is part of me winning."
"I know I know I just didn't think she'd be so easy."
"She's not, she doesn't see this as a date she's just trying to get closer to me so she can try and save me."
"Then let her think you're her friend, let her get close to you."
"What the hell do you think I'm doing?"
"No you are not letting her in. you've gotten as close to her as you can but now you actually have to start letting her in like you do with Cat and I." Beck says running his hand through his hair.
"And why the hell would I do that?"
"Because you want to win this bet, and you know that eventually she'll figure out that this is all bullshit so let her in. I'm not saying tell her about your mom or any of the other stuff but give her something."
"I can bullshit my way through it and I'll be fine."
"Stop lying Jade, you know she's different than your normal girls, she cares and she's smart enough to see that eventually you're just bull shitting her. Come on Cat has made us watch enough movies to know that if you wanna get the girl you have to be friends and let her in first. Keep up the flirting because obviously she likes it, but let her in a little bit too. It won't kill you to let her in, and for fucks sake act like you actually enjoy spending time with her, and I'm talking about more than just having someone around to flirt with."
Before I can respond the line moves forward so we order and head back to our seats. Cat practically tackles me trying to get to her drink.
"Red calm your shit or I'm keeping your drink." I threaten. Of course she looks like she's about to cry so I give her the drink and watch her skip back to her seat.
"And here's your beer." I say handing Vega her drink.
"Jade I told you I didn't want you buying me alcohol!" Vega said looking more than a little irritated. My first instinct was to yell back at her but I remembered what Beck said. Clearly I have to start letting her in if I want to get closer to screwing her. This was so much easier a couple months ago.
"Tori come on, we're here at an amazing concert with my weirdo friends and I want you to have as much fun as you can okay?" Damn I forgot how good I can actually act nice.
I can't remember the last time I've seen Vega smile that much. I guess this new nice Jade is going to have to stick around until the bets done.
"You called me Tori." I don't know how she managed to say that with such a huge smile.
"Well that's your name isn't it?" I can't help but smile because she's actually pretty cute right now.
"Yeah but you never call me by my name. You call me Vega or sweet sally peaches, but never Tori." I see her smile falter a little after she says that but as soon as it appears it's gone.
"You like it when I call you Tori." It's more of a statement but she nods her head in response anyway.
"Okay I'll call you Tori from now on." I can see she's about to open her mouth and try and turn this into a moment and I'm not ready for that yet. Thankfully I see the band walk onto the stage so I grab Tori by the hand and haul her to our seats.
"I like when you talk Tori but right now will you please shut up, drink your beer, and listen to this kick ass band with me?"
I feel her warmth against my cool skin as she brushes her shoulder against mine. I smile and take a sip of my beer. The first chords begin to play and all I can think of as Tori continues to press her body closer to me, is how easy this will be.
