Chapter 6:
Alec P.O.V
The half breed wasn't half bad to look at. It was an insult to all the other vampires, really, even puts Heidi's beauty to shame. Her beauty, her angelic features, I'm sure she had everyone wrapped around her finger for her every need. She was indeed beautiful. A waste for her family to keep her hidden, an anger had rose out of me when she had shared what her family kept hidden from her and what the mutt had done.
All these emotions I never had before, I was confused and frustrated. Why did this half-breed brought up emotions that died when I became this. The need to protect her was ridiculous, I needed to hate her but I can't something is stopping me.
It was still a danger for her to be here. Once Aro finds out what she can do, he'll want to exploit her and use her for the fall of her family or conquering of the rest of this world. While she is here I promised myself I would try to protect her as much as I could.
As I opened the heavy wooden doors, I walk into view of Aro, Marcus, and Caius and bowed, Renesmee not far behind me bowed down too and stepping away to join Jane.
"Ah," Aro clapped his hands as he stood up "If it isn't it young Miss, Renesmee Marie Cullen." I saw her hands ball into fist. "My, my, my. You have grown to a quite beautiful and stunning young lady." She look at me and the back to Aro.
Why she did that for? I looked at Jane and gave her a questioning look.
"Aro..." Marcus called. All the attention of the room went to Marcus, he has never said much it come to a shock when he calls Aro's attention.
Aro turned back to Marcus touched his hand. What this all about, Renesmee turned too look at me seemingly knowing what was going on. "Ah... La tua."
Singer? That's what Marcus told Aro that brighten his face? Who had a singer? A soulmate? He turned back to Renesmee and then me.
He heads back to her. "So, Miss Renesmee what brings you here." She smiled, somehow her smile made me smile.
"Brother, smiling I see." Jane whisper and she nugged me with her elbow.
"No, Jane. I wasn't." I looked at her stoned face. She just smirked. "Sure, act dumb." I straighten up. Jane could not know the reason of the smile.
"I don't want to be a bother, Aro. I was just stopping by, I'll be staying here in Volterra for a while. Jane suggested I stay here."
"No my darling, you're definitely bothering no one." Aro gestured to everyone in the room. "You are more than welcome here. I do have a question my dear, does your family know you're here?"
"No. You see I ran away from home." Aro approached her, I stepped forward Jan catching my arm and pulling my arm.
"Marvelous!" Aro exclaimed looking at me. He extended his hand. "May I?"
Renesmee hesitated and looked at me. Show him.
She smiled back and countered, "May I?
Astonished Aro accepted Renesmee's hand and saw what she wanted to show him, like she had with me when she fell into my arms, albeit unwillingly.
"Interesting, my child, very." One final glance to me, he turned to her. "You're more welcomed to stay and even more welcomed to join the guard and with proper training you could be of great use."
"No!" What am I doing? "Apologies Master Aro, but this is no place for a hybrid. Especially in the guard, where she can be potentially in danger." I walk to where her and Aro are standing. I barely met or saw her again and she already had this affect on me! Where was this need to protect her coming from?! What's wrong with me?
She looked at Aro confused. Jane came to stand next to me and put her hand on my shoulder, but it didn't relaxed me like it did. This time Renesmee was the one that did the same action as Jane but on my other shoulder. As soon she did that I relaxed but felt a wave of calmness that made no sense.
Aro broke the silence. "Alec, Renesmee must be flattered you care so much," He look at Renesmee and she blushed. I tried not to smile. "But I'm sure she can make decisions and look after herself just fine." I looked over to her she was trying to contain her laugh. I put on my poker-face, nodded and walk out of the room.
Embarrassing. Protecting the hybrid. Me? I walk down to my room I saw Hedi in the room across from mine's but I put no attention to what she's doing. I open my door and slam it hard. Frustrated, I didn't care if I broke it. I throw myself to my bed. I don't even know why I have a bed!
Why am I acting like a 15 year old?! I realized I wasn't calm anymore. I was pissed. How dare she come into here and mess the perfect harmony. I covered my eyes with my arm hoping to calm down, but all that was in my mind was Renesmee.
How can she affect me this much? I just met her! The soulless monster that I am shouldn't have a bleeding heart for some half breed like her. I let out a growl of frustration. I couldn't get her out of my head! Renesmee Marie Cullen what are you doing to me? I rolled over trying to read a book. Why an I reading a romance book? I threw it against the wall.
Stupid romance book, stupid fairytale, stupid. I let out a sigh, and close my eyes. No sooner there was a knock at my door, that made my dead unbeating heart skip a beat, when I heard her irregular heartbeat.
