Alexandria grimaced as she glared daggers at Albus Dumbledore, the genial visage of the kind grandfatherly man he tried to convice the world he was was conspicuously not present. "What the flying dragon shite do you want?" she asked, venom and disdain coloring her voice. "This parchment clearly states that if you don't allow my wife entrance to learn beside me my magical guardian, my godfather & blood adopted father you knowingly and wrongfully imprisoned in Azkaban without a trial, is effective of the moment you say no my withdrawal from Hogwarts. So make up your fucking mind, yes or no? Keep me here and try to keep manipulating me, which won't work any longer if you haven't heard what I said to buckey the beaver Granger or mister thinks with his three inch thumb Weasley, or get rhe fuck out of our way."
Albus could've cursed Alexandria on the spot as he snatched the parchment up to read. In black and white before his eyes was just what the girl said was on it only in much harsher words and directed to himself. He couldn't lose the girl now, she needed to die so he could cement his spot in history as the ultimate bastion of the light when she died in the final confrontation with Voldemort. "Fine" he spat tearing the parchement up. He would get her for this but now was not quite the time.
"Good. We also expect married quarters to be set up and given to us as stipulated in the Hogwarts bylaws for married Heads of Houses who are still students" Natasha said as her eyes slowly drifted between Alexandria and the bearded wizard who was responsible for much of her wifes pain & anger. Seeing his jaw clench she smirked faintly. "If you actually believed we'd stay in hostile dormitories of sheep who ostracized my wife after she was innocent of entering her name into a tournament fit for ancient roman blood sport and only started to flock back to curry her favor when she won than you are senile. But if you want to wake up tomorrow to an infirmary full of multilated kids, maybe a few corpses because of those who don't like that Alexandria isn't going to bend their whims anymore and try to hurt her than be my guest but I hope you have a really damn good lawyer to defend your actions because dead and mutilated kids looks bad on YOU especially when I tell you it WILL happen."
"Now now love" Alexandria turned and fixed Natasha with a pointed look "they wouldn't be dead per se. They might wish they were since attacking the Head of an Ancient and Noble House carries an automatic summary execution of the offender but I wouldn't kill them for a first offfense. Permanently cripple and snap their wands before their eyes maybe but not kill them on strike one. Strike two, thats a different story" she said.
"Alex I must pro-"
Quicker than the older wizard could start his admonishment in earnest he found three wands pointed at his throat. "You have no right to call me Alex. Only the people I love and hold close are allowed to call me that" Alexandria said with a menacing sneer painted on her lips. "Perhaps if you had been honest with me from the start and been a truly great bastion of 'The Light' like you caim be instead of playing everyone like a pawn so you can mark a place in history for the Albus the great fuck up Dumbledork. If you had been honest about Voldemort being after me. If you had done everything the exact opposite of what you actually did do, I might have considered it but you fucked up. You fucked up bad old man." Her eyes glimmered dangerously dark like the raw primal flames that danced in the Goblet of Fire last year. "You're lucky you haven't been Kissed for attemtped theft of the Potter Fortune vaults."
"I neve-"
"Stop lying to me unless you truly wish to die. According to the laws transcribed from Council of Thirteen tablet, theft from Noble families carries one of two penalties, death or the loss of your hands. Considering all the money you stole as my falsely claimed 'magical guardian' your hands belong to me" Alexandria said with a glare that could melt steel to its molten form. "Why do you think you no longer possess a vault at Gringotts? Why do you think you a massive chunk of your salary disappears before you get it? Magic has deemed you a thief, a liar and I have the audit records I called for once I became Lady Potter due to the tournament and my adoption to prove it so stop playing dumb with me & insulting my intelligence!"
Albus could feel his patience thinning to the point of non-existence and by the grace of Merlin it was at the moment Minerva made her way into the office.
Minerva McGonagall had seen many odd and alarming sights in her years as deputy headmistress of Hogwarts but she had never been in one like this. Albus Dumbledore had his back, quite literally, against the wall with the two witches holding him hostsge at wand point. "What is the meaning of this!" she demanded as she marched over looking none too happy. Separarting the redhead and Potter girl from the rest of the Hogwarts students after disembarking the carriages because neither moved without the other caused a scene & neither woman seemed to care. That scene led to her forcing the pair into an empty office beside a classroom near the Great Hall and retrieving Dumbledore to sort out the mess while she began the feast without him.
"You would be wise to weigh your words carefully. Considering my wifes hate for the man we currently have every legal right to kill because he has broken on multiple acoounts the laws of the Council of Thirteen, if you say the wrong thing by all accounts you may become accessory and face the same fate as him" Natasha said with an even tone. "Now before you walked in my lovely wife was explaining to this excuse of a man that he had two options. Option one is he rejects my being here in the castle. If he rejected me than those two shreds of parchment was a note autborized by Alexs dad Lord Black her true magical guardian stating the moment Albus Dumbledore denied my place to learn beside this angel" she tilted her head to Alexandria "than he was withdrawing her from Hogwarts and relocating her magical education elsewhere more up to speed with the world. Medival chic went out of fashion nearly half a millenia ago and the pursuit of magical knowledge is far more advanced than this stone age shit you teach."
Minervas eyes narrowed at the verbal slap to the face. Hogwarts was the most prestigious magical school in the world! Calling them behind the curve was paramount to telling a bird that flying was for dogs or fish.
"Option two and the option he has chosen is the allowance of my fiery wife to stay. Now, just before you walked in and we pulled our wands to his throat is because of House Potter related matters you don't need to know about. We were demanding the married quarters the Hogwarts bylaws allots for married Heads of House who are still students. Given my changes I wouldn't put it past those runts you call lions cubs to be snakes and disguise to try something on me. If they did you would wake up to a very... Unfortunate situation in the morning and the law would be on my side, you wouldn't even be able to kick me out because of the reprisals I would take against them" Alexandria said lowering her wand but shot Natasha a look to keep hers on Dumbledore.
"What are you talking about Ms. Potte-"
"Use the correct version or sticky to Lady Potter. God, British incompetence is horrid" Alexandria said cutting off Minerva who looked indignant.
"This is precisely why I told your dad to move you both to America and be done with this God forsaken country. Laws as old as King Arthur are newer here than the backwards view of women still being nothing more than broodmares or property" Natasha said with a scoff. "But what she means to say is she wouldn't put it past some of her former acquaintances and so called 'friends' to try and do something to her now that her true gender has been revealed."
"And when, not if because every person of the male persuasion save the Weasley twins, Neville and Wood is a narcissitic pig-headed chauvinistic piece of work, they did I would not hesitate in the slightest to permanently injure them til their dying day & just for good measure snap their wands in their face" Alexandria finished for Natasha seamlessly. "I already told Ronald and Granger the truth of how I truly feel about them, shes a little authority slut and hes dumber than a dead rock who thinks with its imaginary dick, so I can imagine my unfiltered true thoughts about people would have more than one person attacking me. When that happens Natasha and I could kill them all in the letter of the laws that the Council of Thirteen put out every magical government must obey no matter what & can't change. So you tell me Deputy Headmistress, I think my wife and I have our own separate quarters in the Married Wing away from Gryffindor Tower is in everyones best interest don't you agree?" she asked.
If she had the physical fur in the moment to mimic an irate cat with its fur standing up on end Minerva would look only half as irritated and equally alarmed though the latter part was kept within the depths of her mind. She knew there was more than a bad eggs in Gryffindor but she never caught anyone redhanded in anything other than a mean spirited prank so she could do nothing. But if Alexandria was telling the truth that her true opinions of people would result in her being attacked and attack back with the intent to permanently cripple & snap their wands... That was a scary thought in and of itself. "I will personally set up your married quarters and guide you there after the feast" she said stiffly.
"Good job Lucifer. You overstressed our point" Natasha said flicking Alexandrias forehead after dropping her wands letting Dumbledore with a look that would freeze molten lava. "Don't think we're finished you either you fossil. We have the missives from our Gringotts vault manager to prove you tried to illegally access the Potter Fortune vault. Thief and liar, wait til the press hears about this. Lets go eat, I'm starved."
"Ok two things Gabriel" Alexandria said linking an arm around Natashas and led her out into the Great Hall as she rolled her eyes "I am not as bad as Lucifer. I'm worse." She grinned slightly and pulled the redhead towards the first years who had been sorted while they had their spat with Dumbledore. "Number two, I am much sexier and easier on the eyes than he is even if he did try to possess pretty boy Moose. I prefer think of myself as more of a Type A-Crowley personality type of girl."
"You mean rip people off in deals heavily weighed in your favor?" Natasha asked with a sarcastic snort of amusement.
"It worked to get us our own separate married quarters didn't it? I didn't think you'd be complaining since I.." Leaning in Alexandria couldn't help the smirk pulling at the corners of her lips as she whispered a few things in Natashas ear. "So tell me my Black Widow, are you going to complain or what?" she asked pulling back with a glint in her eye that could be taken as mischievous, like the Weasley Twins seated not too far away thought it was when they casually glanced over between half listening to Ron rant about 'bitches and wenches needing to learn their places in the natural order', or veiled seductiveness.
"Not in the least. Your cruel cunning and my tricky nature make the perfect don't you agree?"
"I couldn't agree more if there was a fucking button that allowed me too" Alexandria said with an air of humor surrounding her. "I love you." She leaned in slightly and pecked at Natashas lips ignoring the shocked gasps of people around her. Some groaned in obvious disgust, some at the loss she was off the market and now the Potter Fortune was forever out of there reach but she didn't care for their reactions. The reactions of the first years did intrigue her though, some the Pureblood children looked uncomfortable while others didn't care but the muggleborn students, the girls anyway, let out a collective 'Awe, thats so sweet' at the the little display. One of the girls near them, a seemingly shy blonde with bright hazel eyes, tugged at her robes a little trying to get her attention.
"I-I don't mean to br-break up your moment but you wouldn't ha-happen to be Alexandria Potter would you?" the girl asked with only the slightest stutter and blush.
"I might be, depends why you're asking" Alexandria said turning her head slightly to look at the girl. She was cute for a little first year and had those big brown doe eyes that would draw her a lot of attention when she hit her growth spurt in the chest & butt.
"M-my friends and I wanted to as-ask of you had any advice for us fir-first years" she said as she clenched the table to steady her hands
Natasha bopped Alexandria on the head and gave her a look. "Be nice babe, shes brand new and nervous enough. Don't scare her further" she said scolding her wife. Turning her gaze to the girl she gave her a softer look than she gave most and gave a half smile. This girl was young, she was pure and she was innocent- she would be nice to this one and her fellow first years until individuals gave her reason not to. "While I am new here too and my wife obvious is not, she has told me a lot about the school. Try to stick together as a group with your friends, don't pick fights you can't win, try not antagonize anyone from the other houses"
"Especially Slytherin, they'll use any small perceived slight as a reason to try and crucify you" Alexandria said with a factual nod.
"You're not helping." Natasha swatted Alexandria on the nose when she saw a terrified look cross the girls face along with her friends. "Just act like you would in school before you got accepted here; common rules of courtesy and respect to everyone, try to travel in groups, don't back talk the professors and if anyone gives you any shit find us to help you. We'll help you out. As much as I understand the philosophy behind Gryffindor House, we're supposed to be a pack and that means watching each others back down to the youngest cub in the pride" she said reaching her free arm over Alexandria and ruffled the girls blonde hair lightly like a protective older sister would which seemed to be the right move to the relax tbe first years around them.
"Thanks, most of us didn't know we were wizards or witches til we got our letters" one of the boys of the group said as wrapped an arm around the blonde girl who snuggled into his side. "Relax, we got others to watch our backs now. We don't have to solely rely on each other anymore Jane."
Jane nodded her head and let out a deep breath. "Sorry brother" she said quietly. "So uh.. Introductions?" she asked with a sheepish blush coloring her cheeks.
Introductions were quick and Alexandria noted that aside from a few difference the group of first years looked alike to varying degrees. Jane and Michael were nearly idental twins with the same blonde hair although slightly different shades, Janes was like spun gold and Michaels was near enough to sunshine yellow, pale complexions and big expressive brown eyes. Karin was an asian born girl with pitch black hair and hazel eyes that seemed to have a glow about them like she was planning something. Rounding off the group were a set of identical triplet sisters with frosty blue eyes and red hair named Janice, Kelly and Samantha though she said she preferred to be called Sam or Sammy; the only way to tell who was with their hairstyles, Kelly wore her long hair in a french braid, Kelly had more of a bob cut with bangs dipping slightly into the vision of her right eye and Samantha took the least effort shoving her medium length hair into a messy over the shoulder ponytail. By tbe time dinner was done she had decided that these six would be under her watch, particularly Jane who appeared to be too sweet to ever raise a hand to defend herself if it meant harming someone else. "Say you six, question for you all" she said as the dinner portions of the tray and their plates disappeared only to be replaced with dessert & fresh plates as well as utensils.
Six sets of eyes turned as one to look at Alexandria. "Yes?" Sam asked as she took a cookie from the tray in front of her and nibbled on it.
"How would you like two big sisters to be on the look out over you guys and girls while we're still here? I can already see you're starting to get close but having two older students actively looking out for you doesn't hurt anything" Alexandria said scooping some chocolate pudding onto her plate before snatching up a handful of vanilla cookies and crumbled them up into it & mixing the two.
"You're pulling our leg right?" Kelly asked cocking her head.
"No but I can if you want me to" Alexandria said with a cheeky playful wink that earned laughter from the girls and Michael groaning under his breath about he'd never understand the way womens minds worked. "But in all seriousness I'm not kidding. I could've use an older student actively looking out for me first year because it gets overwhelming at times. I'm just offering the help of my lovely wife and myself as helpful older sisters to make sure you don't have too much of a hassle."
Natasha raised an eyebrow as she just rolled her eyes and bit into a bear claw. 'Barely married more than a month and shes already trying to adopt us kids' she thought with a warmth of affection for the raven haired girl actively engaging the first years in a mini-lecture of what to expect from most of the professors. 'Then again its good practice for when we do decide to have a family. Her poor experiences with her mundane family has fiercely turned her moma bear instincts up high if shes being this sweet and attentive to a bunch of kids we'll only see for two years.' The thought was almost depressing seeing that Jane left the comfort of her brothers side and was now snuggled up into Alexandrias other side looking up with bright eyes listening to her every word while nibbling on a oatmeal cookie like Kelly was.
"The only professor you want to be really, really attentive about is Professor Snape the potions teacher. He has it in for anyone who isn't part of Slytberin House. Before your first class I would suggest giving your text book for his class a good read and as much as you can committ to memory. He has a tendency to pick on Gryffindor students the most and will not hesitate to take away House points or give detentions for the smallest things. My only suggestion I cannot stress strongly enough to you is to walk on eggshells around him so don't give him reason to pick you out of a crowd" Alexandria said finishing her mini-lecture. She didn't think she was being harsh about Snippy Snape The Mighty Morphing Bastard, she was honest about the professors and how they taught.
"Thats...all good stuff to know. Thanks for the heads up sis" Karin said as she sipped from her mug before spitting it out with disgust. "By God, what is that" she asked pointing to the orangey liquid in her goblet "and where the hell did what was left of my tea go?"
"Ah, the first taste of pumpkin juice. Right nasty surprise isn't?"
Alexandria looked up and grinned seeing one of her other friends, true friends like Luna, nearby looking amused. "Angie ya blockheaded bint, how was your summer?" she asked before abandoning Natasha in favor of catching up with her quidditch team mate and friend.
Angelina chuckled at the 'insult' and pulled Alexandria into a noogie. "Blockheaded bint my ass. You were the one hiding under a spell and was as dense as mithril for four years so whose the blockheaded bint really shortie?" she asked with a smirk.
Alexandria gave a token struggle before she hugged the other girl and laughed softly at the returned embrace. "Good to see you well. So how was your summer?"
Up at the staff table Dumbledore didn't bother with much of his dinner or bother at all to touch the desert trays as his face was hard set in a furiously thinking look. He had to get back control of the situation and get the Potter girl under his control but how? Trying to play with her new wifes safety was no-go, if anything went wrong and the redheaded woman died so would Alexandria and his plans would be ruined. Just how could he get control back in his favor?!
The other professors wisely scooted their chairs away from the headmaster as the brooding miasma clouded around him. Things would not bode well if they dared to go anywhere near him at the moment, even Snape scooted his seat at the far end of the table away a good eight or so inches while he warily eyed the again headmaster as he picked at a slice of fruit tart.
"Alright! Now that we are all watered it would best we be off before you all find yourselves asleep in the seats you current reside. But first, the school song!" A wave of his wand and the lyrics were written in the air for the new first years to follow along with as the abomination of tone deaf and off-key singing began. He personally despised having to do this every year during the opening feast but it was stipulates in his contract that he MUST keep the tradition of ending the opening feast with the school song or lose his job. "Prefects, lead your housemates back to the dormitories. Classes begin moday 9am sharp. Goodnight."
"Go on guys, we'll see you at breakfast in the morning" Alexandria said as the Gryffindor prefects called for them to make a line.
"You're not coming with us?" Jane asked with a pout and upset gaze.
The raven haired teen felt her heart shatter a little at the sight as she hugged the girl tight to her for a moment. "No, me and Natasha have separate quarters for married couples like us but trust me when I say the two of us will be here in the morning waiting for you all to come down to breakfast before we even enter the hall. Thats a promise as your big sister" she said kissing the blonde girls head lightly.
"Alright... If you have to go without us.." Jane said quietly. She broke her hug with Alexandria before hugging Natasha hesitantly a moment later.
Natasha hugged the girl back and gently pried her off after a moment of rubbing her back soothingly. "Go on, follow your brother and sisters Jane" she said encouragingly. She watched the Gryffindor students filing out last, their kids as she dubbed them since the short time of dinner and dessert they latched on Alexandria hard, at the back look back with last glance smiles and waves before disappeared around the curve into tbe hallway. "They'll be alright. They got each other to watch their back at night and us during the day" she said pulling Alexandria into her embrace.
"Its not them I'm worried about." The tone of her voice turned sharp for a moment as her eyes cut over to the now empty Slytherin table. "If one hair on their heads is even out of place my unholy fury is coming down on the responsible parties like a ton of bricks" she said with a hiss leaning back against Natasha.
"Ladies, follow me to your married quarters" Minerva said with a rather unreadable expression. Alexandrias behaviour towards rbe group of first years was more maternal and protective & didn' fit with the bitchy bitch she had shown to be with Albus. Just what the hell changed her over the summer? Well besides the fact she was her all along and most of the world didn't know til she made a public expose with the chief editor of the Daily Prophet. Trying to line up what she knew of 'Harry Potter' with the two facets of Alexandria Potter was not making a whole lot of sense to her but perhaps with the course of the school year it would.
"About time. I was about to fall asleep on my feet and it wouldn't be the first time" Natasha with more snark than neccessary as she let Alexandria go and took her hand tugging her along. Making a mental map of the route from the dining hall to a large painting of a knigt on horse painted in the foreground of a castle midsiege she raised an eyebrow. "What the deal? I thought you were taking us to our quarters not an art tour."
"Love, the quarters are behind the painting. I know magical America is more modern and sensically structured but unfortunately we aren't in America. A right shame too. The food is a hundred times better" Alexandria muttered.
Minerva chose to take the highground and said nothing though her brow twitched for a moment. "The password to enter is Valor in Sacrifce but you may change it if you wish so. Keep all your marital affairs inside your quarters and public displays of affection to an appropriate measure" she said stiffly before walking away. She needed a drink and to think. She thought she had the Potter heir mystery figured out but she didn't have the first real clue. Now it would take a long visitation of what had transpired the last four years to try and make heads or tails of anything at all.
Once the duo was certain that McGonagall was gone Alexandria knocked on the frame making the knight look at her. "Good even my good sir, my wife and I are the new inhabitants of these quarters you guard so valiantly. The password for entrance shall be changed for security purposes" she said respectfully.
"And what shall that password be milady?" the knight asked tipping his helmeted head to look at Alexandria.
For a moment the pair discussed the choice before Natasha said slowly and carefully for the knights understanding what she said, the Russian translation for 'Death before Dishonor'. The knight nodded his head before the painting swung inward granting them entrance. The interior was rather simple with a roomy common area and attached galley style kitchen, a study area with bookshelves and two desks & the bedroom complete with a massive four poster column bed done in rather taste burgundy and purple bedding. While Natasha set about unpacking their clothes from the unshrunk chests taken out of her pocket Alexandria disappeared to the common area. "Alex! What are you doi-" She poked her head out of the bedroom before nearly palming her face as she found wife conjuring blankets over the paintings before silencing them so they would neither see or hear anything that went on in their room. After that from her pocket Alexandria drew out and unshrunk a bag of salt and began to draw lines in front of every window & the entrance way to the room and used magic to make it stick to seal in a complete unbroken line around the arches. "You need to stop watching Supernatural love. Next thing I know you'll be carving Enochian wards and runes into the walls" she said sarcastically.
"Oh pooh, that was supposed to be a surpise" Alexandria said with a pout as she put the bag of salt in the corner and broke out her warding tools.
"Have I ever told you that you can be a touch paranoid?" Natasha asked before rather loud yell demanded to know what was preventing them access to the room. Being slightly curious she walked up to the painting and through the equivalent of a peep hole to see a rather irate ghost making a fuss. "I'll be damned. Unbroken salt lines actually prevent unwanted presences in a room. Wonder what else Supernatural got right."
"Shall we test it out? I have the black light paint to brush sigils onto the wall and the warding tools we bought in Vegas to carve the wards & runes" Alexandria said holding a paint can in one hand and a bucket with said tools in the other.
"God I married a weirdo" Natasha said laughing as a smile pulled at her lips.
"Hey! I might be a weirdo but I'm your weirdo and you know you love me" Alexandria said with a childish pout.
Natasha didn't answer but instead pulled Alexandria close and kissed her lovingly pushing the affection she had for her wife into it. "I do and I wouldn't give you up for anything in the world Alex" she whispered as she took the paint can. "You work on the wards and runes, I'll paint the sigils."
"Sure, leave me the hard job with all the fine details" Alexandria said with a sarcastic tone even though she smiled a little.
By the time the pair fell asleep satisfied with their work, Natasha had one wall done in the common area all the while referencing convenient notes Alexandria left for her and Alex had one of the medium size general protection & detection wards chiselled out roughly, it was early morning nearing two o'clock as the two fell asleep in each others arms.
