DATE NIGHT

Door bell rang at the Hatake home.

"He is right on time. I don't think I can approve of that."

"You are just finding excuses." She looked at her dad who was dressed in floral apron cooking dinner for his own date.

"You look great, by the way."

"Thanks Dad. I should answer the door, Yukki must be waiting."

"Let him learn the Hatake ways." Misa glared at him. "Okay, I am going to let him in."

"Why do you have to go? I mean I can open the door and you continue cooking." Misa said as her father had a habit of wrecking things.

Kakashi was still stirring the pot and cutting onions simultaneously. "Don't worry. Just customary warnings and some small talk." Misa nodded.

"You are not going to threaten him? I want him to be comfortable around me."

"Don't worry sweetie. You beating up two guys last week in the middle of the village did that job for me." He didn't need to intimidate anyone with the stories and lore around their family it was done automatically. "I was thinking of warning him of dangers of dating you."

"Dad..." Misa whined. Kakashi just smiled.

"Here, taste this." Kakashi gave her a spoonful of Miso soup.

"Little salty." Misa commented. "Do you think I will be that bad." There was a confused look on Kakashi's face, so she elaborated "to date."

Kakashi's eyes softened. "Of course not. You are a great girl but that doesn't mean you will be perfect."

Misa scoffed "Thanks dad."

"Let me tell you a story. Once me and your uncle Guy were playing Rock-paper-scissors in my apartment."

"Of course." Her father and uncle's antics had stopped surprising her a long time ago.

"And the game turned into a little heated competition. And before you know it there were holes in the walls, water pipes were broken, furniture was thrashed." Misa just nodded. Sounded like normal afternoon of the rivals.

"When your mother came back home, suffice to say if she wasn't such a good medic she would have killed us."

"Moral of the story is neither of you two will be the perfect. Your mother and I are not perfect individually. I was obnoxious, lacking social skills and a little bit petulant. And your mother erupts very quickly.

But we are still together, you know why? Because we accept who the other person is. Completely. We care for each other. That's all that matters. Anyway, a guy who is afraid of your strength does not deserve you anyway."

Misa just nodded. Kakashi ruffled her hair and smiled. Kakashi went back to his cooking and checking up on his soup. Misa started cutting tomatoes to help her father.

Little later the window of the kitchen opened and Sakura walked in. Kakashi welcomed her while still concentrating on his dish. Sakura stood next to Kakashi "Smells nice."

"It tastes good too."

"Hmm. I will be judge of that."

Kakashi gave her a spoonful to taste. "How was the day of greatest medic in the world?"

"Delicious. And I don't think all would agree with me being the greatest medic in world."

Kakashi looked at Sakura and said "They would agree if they saw you last night in that uniform..."

A noise from behind interrupted him "Ahh, too much information!" Misa leaves the kitchen stomping her feet and feeling disgusted.

Kakashi sighed. "Ten minutes ago, It was raining wisdom here."

"You never lacked wisdom. It's just you are also little bit idiot." Kakashi smiled.

"I think you are the reason for it. I always do great till you show up."

Crickets were chirping in the lawn. Yuuki was waiting for twenty minutes debating should he press the bell again. He was warned of Hatake tardiness but to take twenty minutes to open door in your own house was little too much. Yuuki sighs and press the bell again. He was not going to miss a date with Misa Hatake over this. After all he was not an idiot.
