Chapter 12

Vegeta could hear Bulma as he took flight, but he chose to pay no attention to her. He flew so high he nearly hit a plane. He stopped mid-flight to think to himself. He was still in shock that this man still pursued Bulma even after his warnings. "Did he lose his hearing as well?" Vegeta thought to himself. He needed to know what urged this man to pull a stunt like this. He flew in the direction to where Toshiro was located.

Bulma continued to scream at Vegeta as he flew away. She gave up once she realized he was too far away. She needed to stop Vegeta before he did something he couldn't take back. He wouldn't care, but she did. She would be the one paying and speaking up on his behalf. If she thought anything like Vegeta, Toshiro deserved what was coming to him. Her business; her father's company was at stake. Retaliation was in order, but she knew better. Toshiro really didn't ask for this. He was only responding this way because Vegeta overreacted. The whole thing was getting out of control. She needed to gain control again. She leaped into the car and started it with the spare keys she found in the side slot. She drove to the rehab center full speed. She hoped she could beat Vegeta before he could get there. She knew what she hoped for was impossible since he had a head start, but she still wished.

Vegeta landed in front of the rehab center where Toshiro was getting treatment. He recognized the men shielding the Center looked identical to the man who served the summons to Bulma. Without thinking he sent multiple ki blasts to the men in suits. He didn't want to waste time with small fry. As much as he enjoyed tormenting his victims, he had no quarrel with these men. He wanted Toshiro. Toshiro threatened his mate. This was war.

Vegeta walked inside of the center and stopped to search for Toshiro's ki. There were so many people inside the center, he had to really focus. He became unfocused when he sensed movement behind him.

"Halt!" one of the men shouted as he struggled with his weapon.

"Oh please." Vegeta spoke as he shot another ki blast.

Toshiro was learning to use his jaw again when he was startled by a sudden explosion. Puzzled by the explosion he ran to the window. What he saw puzzled him even more. The ground below him was pulverized, along with his guards laid unconscious. What could cause this was all he could think. This wasn't an earthquake or some underground eruption. Only one area around the rehab center was heavily damaged. He couldn't think fast enough before he heard another blast go off.

"Sir, we must go! There was an attack." A guard voiced quickly as he rushed in.

"What's going on?" Toshiro managed to speak.

"We don't exactly know yet. But they say there's a man causing the panic."

"A man?" Toshiro said as he gripped his jaw.

"A man." The guard reiterated.

Just as the guard explained the situation, another explosion went off. Before they could realize where the explosion happened, the floor beneath them collapsed. Toshiro groaned as he landed hard on his back. He dodged the remaining rubble that continued to drop. He looked around only to discover his guard laid unconscious from the fall. He gave himself whiplash looking around as he watched other patients run for safety. His sixth sense kicked in and caused him to move quickly away from the area. He started to run, hoping he would find an exit in time before another breakdown. Following a crowd of patients, he hoped he would run into another one of his guards. He just made it to the exit before he jumped from fright.

"You? You caused all of this damage?" Toshiro asked in confusion.

Vegeta smirked. "This is your end." He raised his hand and formed a ki ball.

Bulma had just arrived in the middle of the chaos. She was hoping she wasn't too late. But judging from the scene she was witnessing, there was no way she made it on time. The rehab center looked like a bomb dropped in front of it. She saw what she thought was Toshiro's security laid out on the ground, some struggling to get to their feet. She watched as patients fled from the center for safety. She was joyed to see Vegeta didn't harm the innocent. She was brought out of her thought process when she heard a bang.

"Vegeta!" she thought. She ran.

"Wait. Wait. Wait." Toshiro pleaded as he gripped his jaw. He had overworked it.

"Are those your last words? Vegeta questioned.

"Why?" he asked in wonder.

"You ask me why, after the stunt you pulled? You threatened my woman and I won't stand for it." He replied.

Toshiro shook his head frantically when he realized who Vegeta was referring to. If he knew this was the result of threatening Capsule Corp., and Bulma he would have never sent a summons. He hoped he would live to fix his mistake. But Vegeta looked serious.

"Vegeta! Don't you dare do it." Bulma huffed.

"Don't you dare get in my way woman." Vegeta replied.

"Vegeta this is unnecessary. You're scaring the public."

"I don't give a damn about the public. I'm making an example out of him. Let's see if you get another threat now." He raised his ki ball directly at Toshiro.

Bulma grabbed Vegeta's arm before he could let of the ki blast. Just as she expected the ki ball dissolved.

"Dammit woman, I said don't get in my way. Do you like being threatened?"

"No. But this isn't the way to go about this. I'm pretty sure Toshiro has learned a lot just from the ruckus you caused. Right, Toshiro?" She eyed him.

Toshiro nodded his head hysterically in agreement.

"Run along now before Prince Savage here decides otherwise. Hurry." She chuckled nervously.

Toshiro took the advice and ran as quickly as he could. He stumbled into some guards as he made it outside. Bulma watched as he disappeared into the crowds of people who were still running for safety. She sighed in relief.

"Well that was a waste of time." Vegeta said with attitude as he turned to walk away.

"This could have been handled better." She retorted.

"Yea right. You humans are soft." Vegeta said as he rolled his eyes and crossed his arms.

"Well some of us humans like to reason before we start a war."

"A threat to you is a threat to me. Don't question how I handle business woman."

"Since you feel that way, there needs to be communication between us before you fly off and cause this kind of destruction. I'm the one who has to own up to this."

"Let him deal with it. He's the one who sent the threat first."

"Only in response to you sucker punching him. You have to think before you act."

Vegeta grunted at the reminder. She wouldn't let him forget about his actions from the night of the event. He grew more annoyed and decided to leave.

"Don't leave yet, we are talking. Hey! Get back here." Bulma yelled.

She watched as he hovered then sped off in the air.

"Well there he goes." She sighed. She looked around herself and took in all the damage Vegeta caused.

"The consequences of dating a Saiyan." She shook her head and laughed quietly.
