A/N: It's been two, almost three years, since the last chapter of The Pixie and the Beast. Over the years I've had some messages in my inbox from people asking me to write another chapter. I can proudly (or not so proudly, because it took an AWFUL long time) present you chapter eight.
I'm really sorry about making you guys wait so long. I don't expect anyone to still be reading this, but I'll just give it a try and who knows. I don't really know what got me to write another chapter, since it's been so long, since Twilight's 'over' (even though it will forever continue to live in our hearts), but I was reading a fanfiction, realized that I once wrote one and here I am.
It took me some time to get into it again, had to re-read the story a couple of times and think about where I wanted to go with it. I also really hope that my writing skills have improved over the years, cause I have noticed quite a lot mistakes in the previous chapters, but I'll blame that on the fact that I was a lot younger at the time, English isn't my first language, and because this was the first real story I had ever written.
I hope you all enjoy this new, better late than never chapter.
Disclaimer: Everything belongs to Stephenie Meyer.
What happened in chapter seven?
'I'm sorry I doubted that, Alice. I know you're speaking the truth because you have never lied to me before. I promise to never do that again.' He kissed my forehead again, and I nestled my head in his chest.
I felt my dead heart breaking, my unshed tears falling, my pain getting worse.
Chapter Eight:
The next two days felt like two years, but finally the day of the battle came. Just before the sun rose, we all went to La Push to talk through the last details with Edward, to check on Bella, and to gather with the wolves.
Bella was still worried, but I could tell she felt a lot better knowing Edward would be staying with her.
We all made our way to the woods, and quickly took our positions. I noticed that Bella's scent was still strongly present. Then I gave myself some time to look at my family, to really see their faces.
Emmett was all prepped to fight, Rosalie looked concentrated, Esme looked nervous, but just like Carlisle determined to take what was coming for us.
I forced myself too look at Jasper, too. He was really busy thinking about all the things that were going to happen, so he didn't notice me looking at him. I, however, noticed everything about him.
He is the man I had always loved, the man I still love. The man that had followed me through everything in this life, since the day we met.
Never questioning my choices, because he completely trusted me.
As if he could feel me staring at him, he snapped back to the moment, and looked at me with many emotions in his eyes.
Love, of course, one of them. As well as worry. Was he worried we were not going to make it? Worried their army would be stronger? Worried about the strength of the wolves?
'What's wrong?' I asked him.
He broke our stare to look at the ground. I asked him again, 'what's wrong, Jasper?'
'I'm just… I don't want you to get hurt.' He said, and I laughed. Was that it? Was that what he was thinking about, what he was getting upset about?
'Jasper,' I said, 'You don't have to worry about me, and you know that. As soon as they decide what they're going to do, I'll know it. Besides, I'm fast, and don't you dare doubt my strength.'
Before Jasper could answer, a vision came up.
'They're almost here' I hissed. Pairs of golden and dark brown eyes looked at me for a moment.
Emmett broke the silence, shouting: 'Let's go kick some ass then!'
Some wolves howled in agreement, and as if a warning shot had gone off, we heard them coming from the woods. We could hear their feet sprinting towards us; we could hear their growls coming from somewhere deep in their chests. When they appeared, they moved as one.
They came with great speed, but I noticed flashes of unpleasant surprise, of worry, of curiosity on all of their faces when they saw the wolves. As we agreed on, Carlisle, Esme and Jasper raced towards the group of ten newborns, along with the wolves who were also standing on the front line. I could feel Emmett impatiently bouncing up and down next to me, but we were waiting for the rest of the group to arrive.
I watched the newborns collide with our group of vampires and wolves, when in my mind I saw the others coming closer.
I quickly touched Emmett's arm, but with the speed they were coming, we could already hear and feel them.
Eleven vampires with blood red eyes appeared, and I felt my body getting ready.
They came fast, but I quickly calculated that we were way faster. I ran a bit, blinked twice, and a male vampire was standing in front of me. He had curly hair; almost red enough to match his eyes which held a furious look.
Before he could attack me, I had already seen vision of what he would do, so it was easy for me to swerve. I continued doing that, and we danced around each other like that for a while; him attacking, me stepping out of his way just before he could actually hit me. After twenty long seconds I got bored, so I stepped forward and punched him in the throat. I didn't attack on full force, but me breaking my pattern confused him long enough for me to jump in the air, land on his back, and rip off his head.
The separate groups melted and more newborns fell down. Embry and I stood opposite from each other, with a tall, muscular vampire with long, black hair between us. His eyes darted from the grey wolf to me, and back, figuring what to do next. As soon as he decided to attack me first, thinking he could stand a chance against me, I ducked down so he swung his arm in the air just above my head, causing him to lose balance and fall over. I quickly rolled to the side, and Embry jumped and landed on the newborn with a loud growl. The vampire screamed briefly, tried to turn around and punch the wolf everywhere he could. Embry received a slam on his paw, causing him to fall of the vampire. Meanwhile I grabbed the newborns head and slammed it to the ground repeatedly. Embry got up and finally ripped his head off. Exactly like the vision I had two days ago.
I looked around and saw everything going well. The fight would be to an end in less than forty seconds, and my family and the wolves were all still standing on their feet. I friendly slapped Embry on his back and I could see a grin on his face, before he ran off to play some more with one of the last female vampires Esme was fighting with.
Looking around if my help was needed somewhere else, I suddenly got distracted by a vision.
I gasped when the images in my head became clearer.
There was someone else.
That someone else was the one who created this army. The one that was after Bella.
That person… was Victoria.
I quickly thought about the options. According to my vision, we could not afford to wait forty more seconds, especially not with someone like Victoria.
Everyone was occupied.
I had to take one for the team.
I took one more look at the wolves. At my family. At… Jasper. I had no idea how I would outfight Victoria on my own, but if I wasted any more seconds, it would end badly for more of us. I had to go, and leave half of my heart with the vampire with golden eyes and honey blonde hair.
And so, before anyone could notice me going, I went into the woods.
A/N: So that's it, chapter eight. I hope you guys liked it etc. etc. If you got a notification of this upload and read it, even though you might've forgotten about it after these years, please let me know. Let me know what you think of it, let me know if you still like it or if the magic of this story is gone. Of course, let me know if I should upload another chapter (and not wait two years of course).
Thank you :) xxxxxx
