Sitting on the floor of her new accommodations Rose did think for a second that maybe she'd been a bit too hasty. But, then she thought about Jack being burnt alive and having to come back from that and the unthinkable pain that would have to cause, and suddenly Rose didn't regret a thing. Well, apart from the fact that she didn't have a jacket.

"This stone floor is 'an half cold." She muttered, drawing her knees up to her chest in attempt to keep warm.

"Though," she admitted to herself, "not quite as bad as that time we were accused of tax evasion on Reflax 2 and dumped on their glacier moon in our swimwear. Now that was cold." But at least she'd had company.

Then Rose thought that maybe she should be attempting to devise some sort of escape plan; trying to pry the cell door bars apart or trying to persuade the guards to let her go, or something. Probably something. But then again, what was the point in travelling with companions if not to let them save you every once in a while. And yes, she knew how un-feminist that was, but they should at the very least be taking turns. She'd just saved Jack from certain death and agonising revival - not to mention they both still owed for that stunt she'd had to pull with the clown nose and string quartet on Raxaphillia to get them out of that shotgun wedding - it was definitely their turn to do some saving.

"I'll have you know that I was just about to charm my out of that cell - and into some very handsome knight's trousers - when they came along and let me out. You guys always know how to ruin my fun" Jack declared as he strode into Gaius' quarters.

The Doctor and Gaius looked up from the table where they sat, wearing matching unimpressed looks.

"Where's Rose? She would have laughed, okay maybe not laughed but-" Jack broke off as he realised that maybe Rose not being there was the reason everyone looked so glum. He sighed as he plonked down on the bench beside the Doctor, "what's she done now?"

Before the Doctor could respond Merlin and Gwen burst into the room.

"It's no use," Merlin declared.

"He won't see reason."

"He's ordered her execution at dawn."

"No seriously, what's she gone and done now?!"

Surprised by a sudden vibration Rose nearly jumped out of her skin before she remembered that she'd stashed her phone where the guards hadn't thought to look. Reaching into her borrowed dress's bodice Rose slipped out the device, spotting the text from her mum: 'Hiya love fancy tea soon? Leanne staying few days if you wanna catch up xxxxx'

Rose smiled. Pushing a few buttons, she moved to the far corner of the cell and put the phone to her ear.

'Hiya you've reached Jackie, you know what to do.' BEEP.

"Hi mum. I got your message. I'll try and make it, I dunno if we'll be on time, you know us, but I'll try. I'll bring Jack too; let you have a good flirt. Listen, I love you, all right. And don't panic 'cause I said that, I'm fine. I just, I wanted to tell you, all right. I gotta go mum, see you soon. Bye."

Rose put the phone back into its hiding spot and brushed away the silly tears that had brewed in her eyes.

"Its gonna be fine. The Doctor will sort it all out, he always does. He'll find a way. And if he doesn't…I'll bloody well kill him."
