"These Balls are on fire."
The Episode begins with a view of Chris sitting on his long bamboo fold out chair. He takes a sip from his cup that highly resembles a coconut, lets out a sigh of relief, and gives his signature smile in the camera's direction before delivering his opening lines.
Chris: "Last time on Total Drama Island: Insanity!"
The scene is overtaken by a bright, white light that fades out to reveal a scene from the previous episode in which Doug is seen pushing over Josh.
Chris: "Haley and Henry got to know each other on a more… um… intimate level!"
Chris chuckles to himself when he says this as the scene transitions to clips of Haley and Henry bonding over the stars above them, just about to kiss before Haley pretends to pass out, much to Henry's disappointment.
Chris: "Alex and Krystal befriended the anti social freak, Josh, and together they devised a plan to end Doug's reign of terrible antics…."
Alex and Krystal are seen befriending Josh as well as sticking Doug's hand in warm water as he sleeps. A close up of him wetting himself is shown after this.
Chris: "…but Steven also had a plan of his own when he orchestrated the first ever Total Drama alliance….."
Steven is shown bringing together Kimi, Vittoria, Jonathon, and himself.
Chris: "…and masterminded the demise of competition powerhouse, Kelly!"
The scene fades to a grinning Steven taking Sarah's teddy bear from her as she sleeps next to Wyatt, Brooke, and Hector. With a flash illuminating the screen, as it fades out it reveals a bickering Sarah and Kelly, than Kelly is finally seen walking the Dock of Shame with a sorrowful expression on her face.
Chris: "Will the Killer Bass come to regret voting off their most physically dominant player when their skills are put to the test in the most excruciating challenge yet!? Find out tonight on Total… Drama… Island… Insanity!"
Total Drama Island: Insanity Intro.
As the opening theme begins to play, cameras begin to pop out of strange places, including an underground burrow and a tree. As the last camera comes out, a clapperboard is held in front of the camera and is slammed shut.
"Dear mom and dad, I'm doing fine…"
The camera goes past the dock of shame revealing the Camp Wawanakwa sign. As the scenery continues to be shown, the camera rushes past Chris then continues up the ever so familiar mountain before going over the cliff and through the ring, venturing into the treacherous waters!
"…You guys are on my mind!"
Hector is shown happily swimming in the water before being frightened after seeing a shark and rushing towards the surface.
"You asked me what I wanted to be, and now I think the answer is plain to see…."
As Hector emerges from the surface, Wyatt and a crying Sarah are seen floating past him on an old, gray plank. From behind his back, Wyatt pulls out Sarah's teddy bear and holds it towards her, much to her delight. However, just as he does so, a hawk sweeps down and snatches it, sending Sarah back into hysterics.
"I wanna be famous!"
The hawk flies above Steven, who is in the forest surrounded by pumpkins. As snakes begin to make their way out of the pumpkins, Steven screams like the little girl he is deep down, and begins to run. As the camera zooms out, Nathalie is seen holding a snake and smiling as Jonathon puts his hands on his hips and raises his left brow at her before the suns vibrant light overcomes this view.
"I wanna live close to the sun."
As the sunlight retracts and a new scene is revealed, Josh and Doug are seen bickering at each other on a raft before going over a waterfall.
"Well, pack your bags cuz I've already won."
Matt is seen standing on a long and narrow log, with one hand in the air and one hand on his heart, reciting what looks to be a play in a rather over dramatic light.
"Everything to prove, nothing in my way."
Kelly swings by on a vine, grabbing Matt by the collar of his shirt and taking him along for the ride. As they rush past parts of the camp, she drops Matt into the outhouse which falls over because of this. Courtney tumbles out of the outhouse and walks around slightly dazed before falling over, hitting the ground rather hard.
"I'll get there one day."
The camera pans through the cafeteria window, showing Chef making some kind of disgusting grub before going over to Sam and Eric who are looking at each other dreamily before a spoonful of Chef's food is shoved between them. Looks of disgust are shared between the two before Nourhan and Noah are seen laughing together at a nearby table.
"I wanna be famous!"
As the scene changes to the outdoors, both Kimi and Vittoria are seen admiring Alex who is in the water looking at himself in a small hand mirror.
"Na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na…"
As Alex smiles at himself in the mirror it shatters into a dozen pieces, much to his dismay.
"I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous!"
The camera pans over to the Dock of Shame where the hawk drops Sarah's teddy bear into Krystal's arm. Krystal grins maniacally at this before pulling a lighter out of her pocket and setting the small girl's bear on fire. As laughter continues to erupt from her mouth, she throws the doll up into the air.
"I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous!"
As the burning stuffed animal falls from the sky, the daylight shifts to night. The bear falls down in between Haley and Henry, who are about to kiss when Brooke, who's hair is now on fire, pops up between them. As the camera begins to zoom out, the twenty-two campers are revealed to be sitting at the Bonfire Ceremony. All of them are whistling with the exception of Brooke who is screaming, Krystal who is laughing, and Sarah who is crying hysterically.
Total Drama Island: Insanity!
The Cabins: The Screaming Gophers.
As the episode begins, a wide shot of both cabins are shown as the camera slowly zooms in on the boys side of the Screaming Gophers cabin. As the birds continue to chirp and the sun peaks out from behind the clouds, the scene fades to inside the cabin where the boys are all fast asleep. Doug is snoring loudly while clinging onto his favorite basketball, with what looks to be a forged signature from Michael Jordan written on it. Sleeping below Doug is Alex who is sleeping pleasantly with his arm under his head, breathing heavily as he dreams away. As calming music begins to play, the cabin's features fade away to reveal what appears to be a dream sequence. Alex is standing in the middle of what appears to be a large gymnasium. Before him is a large array of teenagers who have formed two rows, the middle of which serving as a walk way for a jock that begins to approach the timid teen. As the jock reaches Alex, he chucks the basketball straight at his face which is followed by laughter from everyone in the gymnasium, much to a crying Alex's dismay. As the laughter continues to ring in his ears, he cups his hands over them as if to block out the sound. While the laughter continues, Alex grows increasingly frustrated with everything going on around him. After withstanding all he can take the boy finally snaps, letting out a loud scream in the process.
Alex: "STOP LAUGHING AT ME!"
As Alex hollers at the top of his lungs, he notices that he is back in the cabin amongst his fellow team mates who are all looking at him worriedly. He comes to the realization that the happenings of the night were simply a dream.
Josh: "Are you okay…?"
As Alex is eased back to consciousness, becoming more aware of his surroundings, he laughs nervously and gives an over exasperated nod.
Alex: "Yea, why wouldn't I be!?"
Doug: "Because you were just screaming like a five year old girl?"
When Doug says this, both Alex and Josh look at him with annoyance.
Confessional Booth: Alex.
Alex: "The dream… It seemed so real…"
At the very thought of this, Alex holds himself and gives a single shiver.
The Cabins: The Screaming Gophers.
The guys all look around the cabin while rubbing there eyes wearily. As they do so, they notice that one of their own is missing.
Henry: "Hey, has anyone seen Wyatt?"
Everyone shrugs at him in reply.
The Dock.
Sarah is sitting at the dock of shame, resting her feet in the waters below while watching the sun slowly emerge from above the clouds from the night before. As she kicks at the water, splashing about, she clings tightly to her recently recovered teddy bear. The young girl looks a bit glum as she sits there but this sorrowful expression quickly changes when Wyatt approaches her. He takes a seat beside her.
Sarah: "You're late! I thought you weren't going to show!"
Wyatt gives a faintly, reassuring smile in Sarah's direction.
Wyatt: "I was a bit cautious to leave the cabin this morning, especially after what happened yesterday!"
Sarah gives a loud, slightly obnoxious yawn.
Sarah: "I'm still tired from last week's challenge!"
Wyatt looks at her worriedly and takes a few glances around to make sure the coast is clear before pulling out a mug of coffee from his jacket and handing it to his friend.
Wyatt: "Here! I smuggled it from Chris's tray in the cafeteria while he was in the bathroom!"
Sarah's face lights up immediately at this as she takes a small sip from the mug.
Sarah: "Yum! A vanilla bean cream frappucinno!? How'd you know they're my favorite!?"
Wyatt: "I asked Krystal, it was no big deal really…"
Sarah looks at Wyatt dreamily as he looks the other way and rubs his arm nervously.
Confessional Booth: Wyatt.
Wyatt: "Sarah? Yeah, she's alright… I guess…"
He looks away from the camera and sinks below its view as his cheeks turn a bright red.
Confessional Booth: Sarah.
Sarah: "Wyatt's so thoughtful…."
Sarah places her chin on the palms of her hands and sighs dreamily. While she stares off into space, she's startled to smell the wrecking toilet that's aroma reaches her nostrils.
The Cafeteria.
Time begins to pass as daily routines carry on. Most of the girls are getting ready in the bathrooms as the guys do nothing of real significance while the hour carries on. When daylight begins to approach, the campers slowly begin to gather within the cafeteria and consume their jail like breakfast. This meal consists of eggs that taste like plastic and home made hash browns. ( Uncooked potatoes that come with a cheese grader.) Nathalie walks over to the trash can and dumps her food inside before turning around and giving a small scream, startled by Jonathon who begins to break out in hysterics at what has just happened.
Nathalie: "That's not funny!"
Jonathon raises his brow at this.
Jonathon: "Well, I'm laughing so….."
Nathalie: "Ugh! You're such a child!"
Nathalie stomps her left foot on the ground childishly and begins to storm off as Jonathon hollers after her.
Jonathon: "Shouldn't you be a little nicer to me after what happened a couple nights ago?"
Nathalie stops dead in her tracks and turns around to face him.
Nathalie: "Just because you covered me with your horribly stitched blanket doesn't mean we're even."
Nathalie steps forward and begins to scream in Jonathon's face.
Nathalie: "WE-ARE-NOT-EVEN!"
Confessional Booth: Nathalie.
Nathalie: "Jonathon's kind gesture exhibited Chivalry, Class, Kindness, and compassionate characteristics… All of which he is not! Something's up!
As Nathalie lists these things, she counts by raising fingers on her left hand and raises the number four to the camera.
Confessional Booth: Jonathon.
Jonathon: "Oh yeah, it's official… She wants me!"
After he says this he gives his regular, sarcastic grin.
The Cafeteria.
Haley is sitting across the cafeteria, on the Screaming Bass side. She has a plastic fork in her left hand and is moving her eggs around restlessly, as if searching for the toy in the cereal box. Henry notices this out of the corner of his eye and takes a seat next to the teenage girl.
Henry: "Hey…"
Haley looks at him for a split second before darting her eyes elsewhere, as if to avoid eye contact. Henry notices this and looks down sadly.
Henry: "You've hardly touched your food this morning, not hungry?"
Haley looks at him awkwardly.
Haley: "I have to… pee!"
As Henry begins to open his mouth, Haley picks her trey up and desperately rushes off.
Henry: "Bye…"
Henry lets out a heavy sigh and rests his chin on the palm of his hand.
The Confessional Booth:Henry.
Henry looks down sadly and rubs his forearm shyly while speaking to the camera.
Henry: "I don't understand….. Did I… do something?"
The Confessional Booth: Haley.
Haley: "I can't just tell Henry that I've never kissed a boy before, then he'd really think I'm a loser…."
The Cafeteria.
The campers are all separated in their own groups, eating their morning meals. As the majority of them are finished and the two teams prepare to leave the cafeteria, they are stopped by Chris who walks in and stands near the front. He faces the twenty remaining teens and begins to speak.
Chris: "Hello campers, how was this morning's breakfast?!"
Crickets are heard as everyone gives Chris a blank stare. This angers Chef.
Chef: "Ahem!"
When Chef says this, everyone breaks out into cheers of gratitude. Chef crosses his arms, and nods to show satisfaction for their reaction. Chris laughs at this and continues speaking once everyone quiets down.
Chris: "I'm glad you're all feeling lively this morning, because that's exactly the kind of energy you're going to need for today's dodge ball challenge!"
Everyone, with the exception of Alex who gasps in terror, erupts in cheers as Chris says this. Some of the contenders dance in celebration of the challenge's announcement, including Brooke and Hector who have both hopped up on the tables. Brooke has begun her booty dance which Hector attempts to imitate, but fails to do so when he steps off the table and lands on top of Courtney. Sam runs over to Eric and the two high five, ecstatic at the challenge announcement.
Sam: "Yes! Finally a challenge we can dominate in!"
Confessional Booth: Sam.
Sam: "I've been highly over looked in the competition thus far, but the other contestants better brace themselves, because it's my time to shine!"
The Dodge Ball Arena.
A catchy tune begins to play as an aerial shot of a glass dome in the middle of the beach is shown. The camera rushes down into the dome as the twenty remaining campers, along with Chris and Chef (who is dressed in a referee outfit), begin to enter the glass room. It's somewhat large and appears to be modeled after a basic high school gymnasium. There are two sets of bleachers on different sides of the gym. Above one of the bleachers is a flag that has the Killer Bass icon in the middle of it, the other a Screaming Gopher flag. The teams separate onto their retrospective sides. Everyone settles down in their seats and Chris walks over to the five balls placed in the center, picking one up in the process. Alex has become visibly nervous.
Krystal: "Hey, are you alright?"
Alex gives an over exasperated gulp and nods.
Alex: "Mm-hm…."
Chris: "The rules of today's dodge ball challenge are simple."
Courtney raises her hand eagerly and Chris gives her a blank, visibly annoyed, expression before moving on.
Chris: "There are three ways you can take out a player from the opposing team!"
Courtney begins eagerly jumping up and down in her seat.
Chris: "You hit another player…"
Chris throws the ball at Courtney who is hit rather hardly and topples over. Everyone gasps at this and looks at Chris angrily.
Chris: "…You deflect the ball away from you and onto another player…"
Courtney gathers the strength to stand on her own two feet. She looks at Chris angrily before throwing the ball back at him. As the ball comes zooming towards Chris, he picks up another ball and uses it to shield himself. The ball is deflected away from Chris and hits Courtney in her other eye this time.
Chris: "…Or lastly, you catch the ball that another player throws at you, therefore eliminating them from that round…."
Courtney: "Uhhhh…."
A barely conscious Courtney wobbles a bit as she attempts to make her way back to her seat with her fellow team mates. She doesn't make it far, however, before passing out in the middle of the gymnasium floor.
Chris: "Now… Any question?"
Chris says this in a sarcastic tone and gives a snide smile in Courtney's direction.
Chris: "No? Okay then, let's get this challenge started!"
Confessional Booth: Courtney.
Courtney sits in the confessional booth with two ice packs taped onto both of her eyes.
Courtney: "Why do things like this keep happening to me!?"
The Dodge Ball Arena.
A wide shot of the gymnasium like arena is shown and both teams appear to be huddled near their bleachers. The Killer Bass are all stargazing vigorously as Noah attempts to once again assume leadership of his team.
Noah: "Okay team , here's the pla—"
Steven: "I'm sorry, but who died and made you head bitch?"
The Killer Bass all gasp with the exclusion of Kimi and J.T. who are both smirking at this remark made by Steven. Noah looks at the three angrily before speaking.
Noah: "I'm sorry, did you have a plan? If so, were you planning on actually telling us this plan or just complaining about suggestions made by Nourhan and myself?"
Steven rolls his eyes at what Noah has just said and goes on to mock Noah in a whiny voice while making talking notions with his right hand.
Steven: "I'm sorry, did you have a plan, Steven? Are you just going to whine about it, Steven? What are you going to doooo, Steven….. SHUT UP!"
Noah gives Steven a blank stare and yawns.
Noah: "I'm sorry, what were you saying? You lost me after the first sentence of your inaccurate mockery of myself."
Noah gives Steven a snide smile.
Confessional Booth: Steven.
Steven looks at the camera angrily and clenches his fists. He begins to shake vigorously before finally cracking and letting out an incredibly loud and obnoxious scream.
Steven: "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
Confessional Booth: Noah.
Noah: "I know exactly what game Steven is playing, and it's a dirty one. The only way for me to assure my safety at this point is to challenge his leadership of our team and show everyone just how valuable I really am!"
The Dodge Ball Arena.
Noah: "Well, go on then, tell me your plan and we can compare strategies and analyze who leads our team through this challenge!"
Steven looks at Noah angrily when he says this.
Steven: "That's entirely unnecessary. You've made terrible judgment calls in the previous two challenges and this would simply be no different!"
Noah shrugs in reply.
Noah: "Well, if that's what you truly believe, then I can't stop you from proceeding forward without me…"
Steven: "I'm glad you understand."
Steven crosses his arms and smiles vainly. Noah gives him another shrug before handing Steven the red ball in his hands and walking off calmly. Nourhan looks at Steven angrily and walks over to confront him.
Nourhan: "You do realize we need his calculation skills to determine how to throw the balls… especially considering no one on this team has athletic ability!"
Steven smiles and shakes his head once again.
Steven: "To be completely honest, Nourhan, as much as I appreciate loyalty, which you've clearly demonstrated towards Noah, he is no longer a member of this team. Therefore, unless you plan on converting from his minion ship, I can't condone your presence any longer!"
Steven smiles happily as if he has just said something quite profound. Nourhan becomes quickly angered by this and grunts before kicking Steven in the shin and storming out of the room. Steven begins to hop up and down on one leg while holding the other, clearly in pain.
Steven: "Ow!"
With a flash of the screen, a wide shot of the two teams standing on either side of the court is shown. Five players from each team are making preparations for the first round while everyone else resides on the nearby bleachers, spectating their team mates.
Chris: "Okay campers, everyone situated?"
Alex, Josh, Doug, Sam, and Eric are playing for the Screaming Gophers while Steven, Nathalie, Jonathon, Vittoria, and Kimi are playing for the Killer Bass. The ten of them all in nod in response to Chris's question.
Chris: "Good, because your challenge begins on the sound of my whistle…."
Alex gives a large gulp as he looks towards the balls in the center of the court.
Chris: "…In Three…"
Brooke is looking towards the balls as she pants like a dog.
Chris: "…..Two…"
Sam and Eric look towards the center with enthusiasm, excited for what's to come.
Chris: "…One…"
Steven grins maniacally at the other team as Chris puts the whistle to his mouth and blows.
Chris: "Play ball!"
All ten competitors dart towards the center with the exception of Alex who stands back mortified. Josh sees this and comes to a sudden halt, turning around to face him.
Josh: "What are you doing!? Let's go!"
Alex blinks in astonishment before coming into focus with his surroundings.
Alex: "Ri-Right! Sorry!"
The two take off towards the five balls which have already been claimed by Steven, Sam, Eric, Doug, and Jonathon. Sam lets out a weird victory cry that involves her sticking out her tong and wobbling her arms and legs in a weird fashion. The opposing team looks at her in shock as Sam finishes her warrior cry and throws the ball straight at Jonathon's face. Jonathon falls to the ground immediately and Nathalie lets out a loud gasp before covering her mouth quickly.
Sam: "YES! TAKE THAT, YOU WHINY BITCH!"
Nathalie looks at Sam angrily and runs over to Steven before ripping the ball out of his hands and chucking it at Sam. Before the ball is able to reach Sam, however, Eric sticks his hand out in front of her face and smiles. With a blow of Chef's whistle and a gesture towards the bleachers, Nathalie and Jonathon have been disqualified. As the two take a walk to the bleachers, Jonathon smiles at Nathalie.
Jonathon: "You're really good at this whole pretending not to care thing…"
Nathalie: "Don't mistake comradely for empathizing with the likes of you!"
Jonathon smirks sarcastically while Sam high fives Eric from across the room.
Sam: "Nice work, partner!"
Eric smiles and nods.
Eric: "Nobody messes with Texas!"
Confessional Booth: Sam.
Sam is stretching in the booth and puts a head band on her head before pointing at the camera.
Sam: "Never underestimate the reigning dodge ball champion of Texas… NEVER!"
The Dodge Ball Arena.
As the game continues to ensue, dodge balls are thrown in several directions, but most of them miss. As a dodge ball comes rolling to Alex's feet he picks it up and stares at it in horror. He looks from the ball then back to the other side. Doug notices this and turns around to confront him.
Doug: "What're you waiting for, throw the ball!"
Alex looks at Doug, visibly disturbed for an unknown reason. As he continues to stand there, his team mates begin to yell at him from the bleachers. As everyone begins to gang up on him he shuts his eyes tight and shakes his head.
Alex: "I can't do it! I'm sorry…"
Alex drops the ball and runs out of the Arena.
Doug: "You've got to be kidding me. What a wimp…"
Josh looks at Doug angrily and throws a dodge ball at his face before leaving the room, running after Alex. Doug angrily takes a seat on the bleacher after being taken out by his own team mate. Sam and Eric's eyes dart back and forth between each other as they realize they are all that remains of their team. Steven, Kimi, and Vittoria each take a ball in their hands and smile at each other menacingly as they inch towards the other two.
Kimi: "There's no way we can lose now!"
Haley sighs and rests her chin on her palm.
Haley: "Well… can't say we didn't try."
Sam and Eric look at each other and smile reassuringly as Sam gives a wink towards Haley who is sitting on the bleachers. Steven swiftly throws a ball at Sam who catches it. This ball is immediately followed by Kimi's which is reflected by the ball Sam has just caught which hits Kimi in the abdominal. Sam looks towards Eric and smiles once again.
Sam: "Will you do the honors or shall I?"
Eric: "I think I can handle this one…"
As everyone in the room looks at the two in shock, Vittoria's eyes have grown to the size of Sam and Eric's home state as she rolls them.
Vittoria: "Signore, abbi pietà…"
With these final words , Vittoria is stricken by the ball and eliminated from the game. With the blow of a whistle from Chef, the Screaming Gophers are knocked from their trance and erupt in cheers.
Henry: "That was amazing! What's your secret!?"
Sam is looking at her nails as she blows the dust off of them.
Sam: "Raw talent… bitch."
The Dock.
The scene is transitioned by an overtake of a flash of white light. This light slowly fades out to reveal the shining sun that is shedding light down on Noah who is laid back by the water, absorbing the sun's rays. Nourhan slowly approaches the dock and takes a seat next to the boy with the jew fro.
Nourhan: "I'm sorry that he said that to you… That was totally uncalled for…"
Noah sits up and takes off his sunglasses.
Noah: "Steven is very insecure in his ability to seize control of the events that take place around him. I assume it stems from something that occurred in his childhood…"
Nourhan: "How do you know all that?"
Noah: "I've been studying Sociology for years."
Nourhan: "Oh…"
Nourhan looks at him with slight confusion which Noah dismisses with a wave of his hand.
Noah: "Never mind that, we should take advantage of this fine day!"
Nourhan: "What do you mean?"
Noah: "Let's enjoy a fine picnic under this vibrant sun!"
Nourhan's face lights up as he says this but it immediately becomes glum again.
Nourhan: "We don't have any food, though…"
Noah shrugs.
Noah: "So let's go get food!"
Nourhan: "How?"
Noah: "From the pantry in Chef's kitchen!"
Nourhan gasps when Noah says this.
Nourhan: "We could get in serious trouble if we get caught, what if we get disqualified!?"
Noah shakes his head before standing up and outstretching his hand towards her.
Noah: "Everyone's too busy playing dodge ball right now and I'm sure he's loaded with food. No one will ever even notice it's gone!"
Nourhan puts her finger to her lip and considers this idea.
Nourhan: "Bu-"
Noah: "Look, are you in or not?"
Nourhan's eyes dart around her as if someone is watching them before hesitantly taking his hand.
Nourhan: "I'm in!"
Confessional Booth: Nourhan.
Nourhan: "Okay, so I know this looks really bad, but Noah's just a really amazing guy and I can't screw this one up!"
The Dodge Ball Arena.
As time continues to pass, the second round of the dodge ball challenge is currently underway. Once again Sam and Eric are leading the team through the round. They are joined by Doug who tosses Sam the final ball which she throws at Sarah, delivering the final blow and in the process winning the second round for her team.
Sam and Eric hug cheerfully and the Screaming Gophers celebratory screams can be heard all the way from The Killer Bass side.
Steven: "Well team, we have to pull it together for this next round or we'll lose!"
Everyone gives Steven looks of annoyance and anger when he says this.
Jonathon: "You're kidding, right?"
Steven: "Am I laughing?"
Jonathon: "No, but I am at how ridiculous you sound right now!"
Steven gives Jonathon a blank stare in return for his cynical remark.
Nathalie: "If it wasn't for you, we wouldn't even be in this mess!"
Steven: "That so isn't true! Back me up here, Kimi!"
Steven looks at Kimi for reassurance but she simply shakes her head instead.
Kimi: "Don't look at me. You messed up, dude."
Steven crosses his arms and rolls his eyes.
Steven: "Fine, I messed up! What do you want me to do about it!?"
Nathalie: "I want you to go apologize to Noah and tell him we need him for this challenge!"
When Steven hears this, he lets out a laugh of disbelief.
Steven: "You couldn't get me to apologize to that over glorified know it all for a million dollars!"
Nathalie inches her face towards Steven's and smiles tauntingly.
Nathalie: "Good, then I'm sure you won't have a problem getting voted out when you don't!"
Steven points his finger towards the ceiling and opens his mouth, just ready to speak, when he realizes that everyone is looking at him with fury in their eyes.
Steven: "…Fine … I'll….. do… something or something… Stall the next round while I'm gone!"
The Kitchen.
The old, dust-covered kitchen has been carefully picked through by both Noah and Nourhan. While Noah is bent down by the fridge, gathering lunch meat, Nourhan has begun rummaging through the cupboards and finds a bag of potato chips. Her face lights up at this glorious find. As Noah finishes his meat gathering expedition, he stands up and joins Nourhan.
Noah: "All ready to go?"
Nourhan: "This all feels… so wrong…"
Nourhan looks down at the ground gloomily. Noah sees her hesitation to take the food and lifts her chin with his index finger, looking deep into her dark eyes.
Noah: "Don't worry about it so much. As your friend, I wouldn't do anything that could potentially harm you… right?"
When he says this, Nourhan's expression changes to happiness.
Nourhan: "So we're…friends?"
Noah: "Would we be going through all this trouble together if we weren't?"
Nourhan smiles at him dreamily.
Confessional Booth: Nourhan.
Nourhan: "Okay, I so wouldn't normally steal food or anything else for that matter…but I've never really had any friends growing up! I moved here from Egypt when I was ten and ever since I mistook a triangle in the Geometry book for an American portrayal of the great pyramid…. Let's just say my cultural differences have caused some interesting rage filled reactions from within me that may or may not lead people to believe I was going to enslave them in the afterlife…"
Outside the Cafeteria.
Noah and Nourhan are seen bursting out from the Cafeteria's large, swinging doors. The two dart down the island as fast as they can with bundles of food in their arms.
Confessional Booth: Noah.
Noah is grinning cockily at the camera with his hands on his hips.
Noah: "As if I actually wanted to have a lame picnic. This was all about reassuring that Nourhan would have my back no matter what! Steven's hatred for me is growing with each day we spend out here which means it's only a matter of time until he makes his move against me… I have to make sure I have enough people willing to fight for me so I can strike first!"
The Dodge Ball Arena.
The Killer Bass are all standing near their bleachers , whistling as if everything is normal.
Chris: "Okay campers , get ready for the ne—"
Before Chris can finish, he is interrupted by a barking Brooke who jumps out from seemingly nowhere and snatches Chef's whistle. Much to everyone's shock, she scurries off on all fours barking, much like a dog. Everyone looks at each other, clearly unsure what to think. Vittoria leans over and whispers in Kimi's ear.
Vittoria: "Great idea!"
Kimi: "Thanks!"
Chris comes to and begins to run after Brooke who has darted down the beach.
Chris: "Get back here, you mutt!"
The Dock.
Noah and Nourhan are eating their sandwiches on the dock while laughing hysterically in response to their small talk. As the afternoon continues on, a dark shadow casts over the two, much to their surprise. This dark shadow is in fact Steven.
Noah: "Well, well, well. Look what the cat dragged in!"
Steven begins to roll his eyes but stops and shuts them. Before he can make a comment about how irrelevant that comment was considering there is no cat in sight, he takes a deep breath before continuing on.
Steven: "Hey…buddy old pal… what do you say we go back and um… play some friendly dodge ball?"
Steven lets out a nervous laugh at the end of this. Noah raises his left brow at this.
Noah: "Oh, really? Why should I after the way you treated me?"
Steven: "Because…I'm so-so-sor…"
Noah: "Spit it out or we're not going!"
Steven takes a large gulp and begins to apologize to Noah in a very fast and frantic voice.
Steven: "Because I'm sorry and you were right and I was wrong and we need your leadership to further the members of our team!"
After Steven says this, he gasps and covers his mouth quickly as if he had just said something wrong.
Noah: "There… Now, wasn't so hard was it?"
Noah says this sarcastically as he walks by Steven. Steven's eyes follow Noah and then Nourhan as she passes, kicking Steven in the shin once again as she does so.
Confessional Booth: Steven.
Steven makes several sounds of disgust before sticking out his tongue and scrubbing it with a bar of soap.
The Dodge Ball Arena.
As the campers converse about the various events of their lives, Chris barges into the room. He is carrying Brooke by the collar of her shirt as she whimpers the entire way until he finally sets her down. He angrily rips the whistle out of her mouth, wipes it off, and gives to Chef.
Chris: "Now, let's conti-"
Kimi: "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOOD WHHHHHHHHY!"
Kimi has dropped to her knees and is dramatically screaming at the top of her lungs.
Sam: "Oh, how I pity the lil lady…"
Noah: "I wouldn't count us out yet, Samantha!"
The Killer Bass's faces all light up as they surround Noah happily and begin to cheer, including Kimi who has joined her brother. Sam simply looks at them all angrily. Courtney raises her hand and begins to speak without being called on.
Courtney: "Do you think since we're going to win inevitably… maybe I could try to partake in the dodging of bal-"
Sam: "DODGE THIS!"
Sam throws a dodge ball as hard as she can at Courtney who is hit in the face and bruised on her cheek.
Sam: "It pains me to inform you that you have failed my test… The answer is no, by the way."
Confessional Booth: Sam.
Sam is holding a twig in her hand and shaking furiously.
Sam: "No one calls me Samantha and gets away with it…"
Sam angrily snaps the twig in half.
Confessional Booth: Courtney.
Courtney is whimpering silently on the toilet seat.
The Dodge Ball Arena.
Chris: "Let's play ball!"
With a blow of the whistle, the next round commences. Noah, Nourhan, Brooke, Steven, and Kimi are playing for the Killer Bass while Sam, Eric, Wyatt, Krystal, and Henry are playing for the Screaming Gophers. All ten of them sprint towards the center and grab as many balls as they can. Noah manages to get his hand on a ball and throws it at Krystal, immediately striking her out. As he does this, Henry throws a ball at him but he manages to dodge it. The two begin to have a stand off as they throw balls back and forth. Sam and Eric begin to tag team the other contestants, successfully taking Kimi down. Steven becomes briefly worried about his sister which causes him to be distracted and takes him out of the moment as he gets hit square in the face, spit flying from his mouth. Nourhan is able to throw a ball at Wyatt but he catches it and she is forced to take a seat. Noah is able to finally take out Henry but as soon as he does and smiles triumphantly, he is pelted with balls thrown by the two remaining Gophers.
Eric: "Yes!"
Sam and Eric high five as they look towards a whimpering Brooke.
Sam: "Victory, here we come!"
Nathalie hits her forehead with her palm at this.
Nathalie: "Well…We're screwed…"
As Sam and Eric throws ball by ball at Brooke, her expression suddenly changes. She shows her sharp teeth to the duo and growls. After she does she throws herself into the air and does a series of matrix dodges, avoiding all the balls. Brooke prances to the balls and picks them up with her feet. She rubs the balls on the gym floor and causes enough friction to set them on fire. She throws them with her feet, releasing the ball from her toes grip and they hit Sam and Eric , one right after the other. Everyone looks at her in absolute shock and awe at what they had just witnessed. After a few seconds of silence the Killer Bass erupt in cheers.
Nathalie: "That was amazing, Brooke!"
Noah smiles triumphantly.
Noah: "I think we've found our secret weapon!"
After he says this, Sam manages to stand up on her own in two feet. The girl's hair is vastly frazzled and as she opens her mouth one of her front teeth fall right out of her mouth. She begins to wobble back and forth, clearly in a daze.
Sam: "These balls are on fire…"
She says this while slurring before passing out on the gym floor. After she and Eric are carried off the court, the next whistle sounds and an upbeat song begins to play as Brooke is given all the balls by her fellow team mates. The song is a parody of Alicia Keys "This girl is on fire". The lyrics however are replaced by "These balls are on fire."
Brooke takes two balls in her feet and two in her hands. She does a cart wheel and as she does she releases one ball as that portion of her body is directed towards a contestant on the other side. Close ups of contestants are shown as they get hit. Haley is hit in the nose first and blood spurts out everywhere as she is. Henry is then hit in the chest followed by Hector and Wyatt who are hit in the face. The last contestant standing is Doug. Brooke stands in the middle of Noah, Nourhan, Steven , and Kimi as she throws the ball relentlessly at Doug, once again winning a round for her team. With another blow of the whistle, cheers erupt from the Killer Bass.
Chris: "The Killer Bass have made an amazing come back! The score is now tied, two to two!"
The Screaming Gophers all let out a heavy sigh.
Krystal: "Hey…. Has anyone seen Alex or Josh?"
Confessional Booth: Alex.
Alex is in the booth crying his eyes out, face hidden in his palms.
Alex: "It won't be so bad going home…"
Alex lifts his face and sniffles before hearing someone outside the confessional booth.
Alex: "Oh my god… This is it… They've come for me!"
Alex suddenly pushes his face against the camera in a blair witch project manner and begins to sniffle loudly as he looks around nervously.
Alex: "I'm so scared…"
Suddenly a hand reaches into the booth and pulls him out as he screams horrendously before noticing a figure covered in hair.
Alex: "Jesus… Is that you?"
Josh blows the hair out of his face and looks at him blankly.
Josh: "Obviously."
Josh puts Alex down as they both plop down outside the booth and begin to converse.
Josh: "Why'd you have a mental breakdown in the middle of the court?"
Alex lets out a heavy sigh.
Alex: "It all started in eighth grade gym class…."
Josh gasps dramatically as the scene changes to a flashback of Alex's memory. A young, chubby boy with brown hair is shown skipping through the gymnasium as happy as a boy can be. He is humming a catchy tune to himself as he picks up a dodge ball and attempts to throw it at the other side but hits someone in front of him instead. The student in front of him is rather intimidating with a very tall and muscular body structure.
Tall Student: You… YOU MORON!"
As the tall jock begins to yell at him, all his friends join in and they gather around and begin to pelt him with dodge balls as he cries. The flashback slowly fades out to Alex and Josh in present day.
Alex: "And I've never picked up a dodge ball again…"
Josh frowns at this.
Josh: "Well, things are different now and if you don't compete you could be sent home!"
Alex shakes his head at Josh.
Alex: "I'm sorry, but I can't do it. Doug will get everyone else to gang up on me a-"
Josh stands up.
Josh: "If you haven't noticed, not a lot of people actually like Doug. You can't keep living in the past and more importantly, you can't keep staying in your comfort zone! If you don't take any chances in life, then you'll never discover all the good things it has to offer!"
Alex: "Wow… that's deep."
Josh smiles and nods.
Josh: "Don't give me any credit for saying it, you and Krystal are the one's who taught me all of that!"
Alex smiles warmly as he is helped up by Josh.
Alex: "Let's do this!"
The Dodge Ball Arena.
The Screaming Gophers are all sitting on the bleachers looking rather glum as they watch their fellow comrades being wheeled out on stretchers.
Haley: "How're we supposed to compete? Wyatt, Hector, Sam, and Eric all have concussions and Alex and Josh have gone off to god knows where! That only leaves four eligible players to compete…..and Courtney."
Courtney's face lights up at this.
Courtney: "Yes, finally!"
Haley: "Yeah… You're not competing."
Courtney: "Aw…"
Courtney's hopes and dreams are shattered as she looks down sadly.
Chris: "Well, Haley, I guess that means you'll have to forfeit, which means…"
As Chris puts the whistle to his mouth, Alex and Josh step in the room.
Alex: "Not so fast, McClean! We're ready to participate in the final round!"
All the Screaming Gophers are cheering when they see the two boys except for Courtney who looks away enviously.
Krystal: "Where were you? I was worried!"
Josh: "We just had a bit of a mishap, but everything's fine now."
Josh winks at Alex.
Krystal: "Well, not quite everything, turns out Brooke is a dodge ball champ and no one can seem to take her out!"
Alex: "Have you tried ganging up on her? That method seems to work just fine…"
Alex shivers at the thought of this while Krystal looks at him in shock and puts her fingers to her head before making a weird sound and moving them away from her head, spreading her fingers apart as she does so.
Krystal: "That was you, blowing my mind…"
Chris: "For the final time…"
Chris puts the whistle to his lips and blows.
Chris: "Let's play ball!"
As the competition comes to a climax, both team formations have formed. Brooke, Noah, Nourhan, Sarah, and Jonathon are playing for the Killer Bass while Alex, Josh, Krystal, Henry , and Haley are playing for the Screaming Gophers. Everyone is seen rushing towards the five balls in the middle, which the five gophers get to first they all pick up the balls and before the Killer Bass have a chance to think twice they chuck the balls at Brooke, three of which hit her in the face. As she falls in slow motion Noah begins to scream.
Noah: "Nooooooooooo!"
As everything slows down for a more dramatic effect, Nourhan rushes to a ball and throws it at Haley. Henry throws himself in front of Haley in a sacrificial manner, taking a ball to his unmentionables. As Henry falls to the ground in pain, Haley looks over worriedly and looks back at the other team angrily. She picks up a ball and throws it as hard as she can at Nourhan. The ball hits Nourhan in the stomach and she slowly falls to the ground. Noah looks back at Haley furiously and picks up a ball , preparing to throw it at her. As the ball flies through the air, Krystal sticks her hand in front of Haley's face and catches it. Krystal hauls the ball behind her head and chucks it at Jonathon as hard as she can. Jonathon is hit in the face hardly and flies backwards as saliva flies out from his mouth on his way to the ground. When Jonathon finally lands on the gymnasium floor, the slow motion montage ends and the Screaming Gophers begin to cheer.
Chris: "Well, Screaming Gophers, one of your team mates have caught a ball which means someone currently sitting out can join the game!"
Sarah's eyes widen in fear and she shuts them, tightly clinging to her teddy bear.
Sarah: "I'll miss you, Sammy!"
Krystal: "Sorry, little sister, but you're going down!"
Alex walks over and picks up a dodge ball and prepares to throw it.
Alex: "There's no way we can lose now!"
Just before Alex can throw, someone comes up from behind him and rips the ball out of his hands.
Courtney: " The time has finally come, the time for Courtney Louise Lanely III to shine!"
Everyone looks at the crazed clutz fearfully.
Alex: "No wait, do-"
Before he can stop her , Courtney throws the ball carelessly. The ball directly misses Sarah and a chain of unbelievable events, that are only possible in the world of Total Drama, begin to unfold. The ball bounces off a nearby wall and flies back towards the screaming Gophers, hitting Krystal in the face. The ball begins to ricochet from Krystal's face, to the floor, to Alex's face, to the ceiling, to Josh's face, to the upper right corner of the room, to Haley's face, back to the farthest wall, and all the way back to where it started, Courtney.
Sarah: "Is it over, am I dead yet?"
Sarah slowly lowers the teddy bear from her face and see's all her team mates in the room and Doug who is the only Screaming Gophers member still conscious, in shock. Her jaw drops when she discovers that Courtney has unintentionally taken out her entire team.
Chris: "Well, Killer Bass… In a shocking turn of events, you have won your first challenge!"
Instead of cheering, the Bass continue to look at Sarah in shock. Courtney slowly comes to and manages to lift her head slightly off the ground, groaning when she does so.
Courtney: "Did I do it… Did we win?"
Doug takes his hand and pushes his jaw shut before looking at her angrily.
Doug: "Hardly."
Courtney's eyes roll into the back of her head as she drifts out of conciousness once again.
Confessional Booth: Courtney.
Courtney continues to whimper in the booth before finally bursting out into loud cries as endless tears fly from her face.
Campfire Ceremony.
When Courtney's Confessional fuzzes out, the campfire ceremony is revealed. Chris is walking back to the center after the collecting the votes. He returns with a tray that holds ten marshmallows on it. The camera pans down the row of campers sitting on the logs around the campfire. Each and every one of them with the exclusion of Doug is injured. They are all looking at Courtney angrily as she sits in the middle of the injured team.
Chris: "This Screaming Gophers, this is your first Campfire Ceremony! Tonight all but one of you will receive a marshmallow, that contestant will be forced to leave the island for good! Marshmallows go to… Sam, Eric, Henry, Haley, Krystal, Josh, Wyatt, Hector, and Doug!"
Due to the campers inability to move, Chris throws the marshmallows at them. As the marshmallows hit the camper called, that contestant groans in pain.
Chris: "This, campers… is the final Marshmallow!"
Dramatic music begins to play as a close up of the last marshmallow is shown.
Chris: "The final marshmallow goes to…."
The music picks up while Alex smiles, sure of his safety, unlike Courtney who is biting her nails vigorously.
Chris: "Courtney!"
Alex: "What!? You guys voted me out over her!"
Alex stands up angrily and gestures towards a smiling Courtney. When he does this, Chris begins to laugh.
Chris: "Only kidding!"
Alex is angered when he is hit in the eye with a marshmallow.
Chris: "Which means, Courtney, Dock of Shame time!"
Courtney lets out a heavy sigh and begins to weep while wheeling herself down the Dock of Shame on her wheelchair. Doug looks at her angrily as she slowly passes him, kicking the wheelchair and sending it speeding off into the treacherous waters beyond the dock.
Chris: "Well, campers, that's that!"
Josh looks at Doug angrily and pushes him off his log while Krystal looks at the dock, clearly concerned.
Krystal: "Shouldn't somebody help her?"
Chris: "Nah, that's what the waivers are for!"
Everyone gasps at this.
The Cabins: The Killer Bass.
Noah is whistling when he walks into the guys' side of the cabin, preparing to go to sleep. However, he is shocked to see that Steven has followed him inside the room.
Noah: "Come to admit your defeat I see."
Steven gives a laugh of disbelief.
Steven: "As if!"
Noah smirks at him.
Noah: "You got lucky today in the challenge, but if we had lost, you would've been the one sent home!"
Steven: "Oh, is that so?"
Noah: "Indeed it is. It's only logical to assume that nothing will change in the next few days and you'll be leaving at the next Campfire Ceremony we attend. That's why I've thought about it and I'd like to offer you my companionship!"
Noah out stretches his hand towards Steven, in which he simply walks past.
Steven: "You don't intimidate me, Noah. You repulse me!"
Noah frowns and retracts his hand.
Noah: "Well, it's my displeasure to inform you that I'll have to rally the votes against you in the next ceremony!"
Steven steps closer to Noah, whispering in his ear tauntingly.
Steven: "You have no idea who you're messing with!"
Noah: "Actually, I'm well aware. It's you who is blinded by the arrogance of your own power that you fail to see the opponent's true strength!"
Steven lets out a quiet chuckle.
Steven: "Look around you, how many votes have been in your favor?"
Noah ponders this thought and gasps when he comes to the humbling realization that he is not in the majority of his team.
Steven: "It is you who will fall at the following Campfire Ceremony, and that's a promise!"
As Steven and Noah crawl into bed, Steven puts his face mask on and begins to dream pleasantly. Noah lays under Steven's bunk, listening to his snores as he lays in the dark room, plotting his next move. It's not until the sun begins to rise the following morning that a smile spreads across his face.
Noah: "I've never failed at anything in my life… This game will be no different."
