Chapter Twelve

Kalya and the generals entered the gate of the Isis compound. They were met by the elders their eyes a lit with curiosity. The elders each took the arm of two of the Isis Warriors and dragged them into the main building. The warriors looked confused and nervous when they found Herb and Jeekot already seated. Frosta, Minuet, and Pewter were present as well. Once at the table everyone took a seat as the O'Leary brothers seeing the strange precession joined the group. Sean and Ebon saw Kalya was to have to sit next to Herb and saw the glares of her parents and family. Therefore, with a slight nod Ebon put himself in the empty chair between Kalya and Herb. Sean took the empty seat on the other side of Kalya so Herb could not play musical chairs.

"Ok first Kalya Furuya-san will be here tomorrow morning at seven." Rouge said with undisguised curiosity.

"Well we want to fix up that large shed at the east wall to be a computer lab and study hall. We can't afford to buy all the warriors computers so we thought If Prince Herb, General Jeekot, and the rest of the Amazons want to take college courses they can use the lab. It is important that none of the tribes remain isolated anymore. Though I fear you, all will probably be needed to protect the Phoenix. I will always be there to aid all the tribes of Jusendo valley." Kalya told them with a warm smile.

"I will contact Lord Saffron I am sure he would like us to bring back new knowledge. We also accepts your aid if the outside world becomes to...uh...!" Jeekot was having trouble putting what he wanted to say delicately.

"Aggressive?" Ryoga suggested and Jeekot nodded with a thankful smile.

"Well as neither Kalya nor any general can speak for the others. I know Nodoka and I will also be there to keep all the tribes of Jusendo valley safe." Ric told them as he saw as Nodoka nodded her head once.

The rest of the generals all agreed. They knew if it was not for the training and aid of the Amazons their war that was coming up would be impossible to win. It was also because of the Musk and Phoenix that they had much of their information that would help them to fight Seth at his own strong hold and hopefully save those, they love. Mascara banged a rock on the table then smiled at them as they all looked at her confused.

"You have been dying to do that ever since you got here haven't you Mascara mother." Kalya asked her with a cocky grin.

"Yes, yes I have. Now dear when Nodoka telephoned for Furuya-san's presence tomorrow she mentioned you wanted to start them on special training?" Mascara asked her daughter with eager anticipation.

"Yes I, Mousse, and Ryoga have talked much about this when we go pick up supplies." Kalya started as the other generals looked hurt then relaxed, as they never really wanted to go get supplies.

"Well on one of our trips I had asked Kalya about the time Seth nearly took her over. I felt it but I didn't understand it. When she and Mousse told me what happened and how he had saved her it made me think. We are trying to go into a domain that Seth is all-powerful. We just don't have enough power to get out. What happens if we go through that Nexus and he starts turning us to evil? With all of us under his control earth and the Egyptian pantheon would fall." Ryoga told them as they all sat back stunned that no one had thought of that.

"We talked about it during that entire trip. I asked Kalya to give me some time to contact my great great grandmother and great grandmother. I received the answer about a week later." Mousse started as he paused to pull out his journal to remember what they said.

"Will you please continue?" Chiffon snarled as all the generals and Kalya laughed.

"Well for those of you that don't know there is a technique that can be used to prevent your being taken over during meditation. You must enter your spiritual core it increases your strength and ability to push the entity out of you." Herb and Jeekot were surprised they had never heard of that.

"I was able to send that information to Kalya when Seth tried to turn her. She and the original Isis and Kalya fought and won against him. What we wanted to know from Jasmine and Marigold was can it be done while 'technically' awake. We need to protect ourselves and the warriors going through the nexus." Mousse said as he paused again to read the journal entries he needed.

"WELL WHAT DID THEY SAY!" This time Mascara blew a gasket and Mousse just looked up through his lashes and smiled mischievously.

Dolphin was ready to brain her brother. She loved the way he was building suspense but it was driving her nuts. Then when he stared at Mascara with a mischievous look her heart broke. She had never seen him like this he was always solemn and depressed. She slumped as she realized she treated him as the other warriors treated him. Here with Kalya and the other generals he belonged they did not care if he was blind or not. She was learning a new set of beliefs and when she became elder the old ways would die. That was unless she could get the elders now to change it. Mousse finally looked up and began again.

"They are not sure none in our family never felt the need to try. Therefore, Kalya and I went over the copy of the scrolls that they sent me. Ryoga and we figured a way it might work and that was what the training we started today was. We all copied down the altered scrolls and are now working out the bugs. There were not many. Tomorrow we can start the training on those going through the Nexus. Though we might want all the warriors to learn as if Seth gets to angry he may try to affect the warriors fighting against his minions on earth." Mousse said as he pulled out eight journals and gave one to each elder, Herb, and Jeekot.

"This is the beginning process. Please note once you enter your spiritual core in a non-meditative state you must stay there." Mousse paused at the gasps.

"Well for the first time at least what a half an hour?" Ryoga asked his fellow team members nodded.

"We figure we must hold it longer each day to gradually build up our spiritual strength and stamina. The more we stay within the core the better we can protect it. Mousse is going to send our notes back to the village tonight so Marigold and Jasmine mother can start training the warriors that must stay in the valley on the off chance Seth tries something there while attacking us here." Kalya finished as they all read the notebook with the technique written it.

"Alright will you be there to start the first lesson?" Sapphire said as she hoped this would work.

"Yes it is a simple technique to do but it is complicated in that you can't stay to long in your spiritual core. That is one reason we are staying in there and slowly increasing our stay. We don't know exactly how long we can stay in the core. I have a feeling it is different for everyone." Kalya continued.

"Then what if the battle lasts longer then our time limit...!?" Ebon asked as he wondered if it would be worth it.

"We thought of that old man! The next step after they can stay in for at least an hour well we think that would be a good time to start the next step. We will be working out the ability to step from your core long enough to stabilize your spiritual core then step back in. We are working on a way to speed up the stabilization so we can step out and a minute or less then get right back in." Ryoga said as he looked at his journal as Sean looked over his shoulder while Ebon looked at Kalya's journal.

"I have sent what we plan to do to my grandmothers back at the village. They will critique the technique the step tomorrow is good to start. When we hear from grandmother Marigold or Jasmine we will get with the elders since they will be doing the bulk of training on this technique. As we need to work out the more advanced portions we came up with today as a team." Mousse said as the others decided to let Ryoga, Kalya, and Mousse, do the explaining since they created the technique.

"There is one thing you should all know. Fighting Seth is not easy. I nearly lost to him. If I had not had the spirits of Kal-Chan and Isis-Chan's help i wold be serving him. He will be at full strength in his domain. We are hoping if he tries to take over more then one of us it will make him vulnerable. This technique is important it will give you a fighting chance and make your core stronger to fight him off." Kalya told a shocked group.

"I wonder if Druid magic could help do that for those that can't master the technique?" Ebon said as he took out his journal and began to write.

"You might also want to check to see if there is a spell we can use to help protect or core or add protection after he tries to take it over." Shen said as he wrote furiously as ideas started flying.

He looked at Kalya and she smiled and passed him her copy of the technique. He smiled back and began to copy it down. He made notes on his ideas. As the table watched him curiously, they were all starting to smirk as Chiffon and Mascara were getting aggravated that Ebon stopped explaining what he meant. Kalya saw the looks and she was tempted to let them stew but she could not do that to them.

"He is not sure but he will check all the books on Druids that the librarians had copied for him. He will then get with us again and let us know his findings. Right now, this is a 'fly by the seat of your pants' technique on all of our parts. The more help we get in creating it the faster we can learn it and the stronger it will be." They all nodded as she just told them this spell was a team effort.

"Alright Kalya dear we will do what we can. Minuet I want you to get a copy of the technique your medical skills might be what we need to make it safe. You should also make a copy for Mirako since you two are cross training. She might be able to see something we could miss." Sapphire told the beautiful healer.

"Alright elder I will." She turned as a journal with the technique appeared in front of her.

She looked up and saw Ebon had pushed his copy of the spell toward her. She smiled at him and nodded her thanks. They would workout when he could get it back to check out what options Druid magic could bring to it. As they all rose, Ebon walked around the table to Minuet and they moved off to a quiet corner. Ebon explained his ideas to her as she copied the pages into her journal. Then Ryoga, Mousse, and Kalya moved to one of the storage closets off the main floor. They opened it and began to unload their purchases made earlier

"Kalya dear we didn't order those." Rouge said as she, unpacked several cases of colored pencils, mechanical pencils, and extra lead, they had also unloaded eraser pens.

"Yeah I know but a lot of them were asking for them they like using the color pencils it makes everything more defined. The mechanical pencils are more economical too." Kalya said as Mousse and Ryoga helped her load the supply closet.

"What about the other issue?" Snow Pea asked as she took three of each color of college thesis notebooks.

"He attempted to force me to the Tendo dojo to marry one of his daughters. Niitmin and Tarragon taught him better of it. Then he was taken back to prison. I felt Aker poppa but I didn't see him. I guess it was wishful thinking." Kalya said as they closed the closet and walked away Snow Pea holding her arm and patting it lovingly.

"Well that should end his interference." Rouge said as she and the other elders walked up to them.

"I don't know Rouge he is a wily one. We should find out what Niitmin and Tarragon did to him on top of what we did." Cologne said with a grin so evil it made Kalya shiver down to her bones.

"Why don't you go on to bed we have an early day tomorrow and the meeting with Furuya-san." Mascara told Kalya as she hugged each of her present Amazon mothers then went to her room Mr. Tabbs following close behind her.

"You know that cat will never let her out of his sight again. We only got him to stay here because she had Mousse and Ryoga with her." Rouge said as the fat little tabby stayed close to Kalya.

"Yep and if the panda gets loose again if Tabbs don't get him Aker will." Snow Pea told the others.

"So he was there." Sapphire said with a grin.

"Oh yes I am sure of it! Remember he added a spell to her ring from Isis. He knew what was happening. I think he let the generals and police do what needed done this time but if he tries again Tabbs will be a walk in the park compared to what Aker and Sekhmet will do to him." Cologne said as she remembered the eight-foot god.

"As well as it should be. Come we have much to do. I want to see what changes we can come up on this new technique. I want it working and fast. I have a feeling our battle is close at hand. Cologne where is your husband we will need him on this." Chiffon said as she looked for the grandmaster.

"I am right her Chiffon. I already started Cologne let me take the book Kalya gave her while you finished. I think they have something here. It just needs some minor adjustments and the advanced portion well that needs a bit more help but with all of us working on it Seth is going to be very sorry he came back." Happosai said as he came up from behind his wife.

"Then let's go to my and sapphire's suite to discuss this." Snow Pea said as they moved toward the stairs.

None of the elders or Kalya noticed as Ebon and Minuet worked on the technique and sat very close to each other. They did not seem to notice when the lights went out. They just continued to talk and make suggestions. Minuet without a thought pulled out a lantern and lit it so they would have light. They continued their work that would keep them safe.

The out building was nearing completion in the remodel Furuya worked hard to get it done quickly. He had it finished in just about two months. He added insolation, redid the electrical. He added two bathrooms on each floor. The building was tall enough to have a second floor. When he finished the warriors helped in decorating. It was decided the computer lab would be upstairs and the down stairs would be for studying and study groups.

They set up several banquet tables in the center of the room and lined the wall space with bookshelves. They also created sofa and chair groupings for a more comfortable studying. When they were done and the second floor was filled with small desks and chairs. Kalya, Ryoga, and Mousse headed to the computer store with Mr. Tabbs in tow. Rouge, Frosta, Pewter and Minuet also accompanied them. When they got there, they went in and headed to the front counter.

"May I help you?" A young lady asked as she, frowned at the group of people her eyes green with jealousy over the stares the male customers were giving the women.

"Yes I am Kalya Takashi I placed a large order for laptops. I was notified I could pick them up today." Kalya said with a slight frown as her empathic nature told her the girl was jealous.

"Oh yes ma'am. We also just received the manuals you asked for as well. Just pull your truck around to the dock in the...!" Ryoga cut her off.

"We don't have a truck we are fine we will carry them back ourselves." The woman's eyes grew wide with shock but she nodded slowly and led them to the loading dock behind the store.

"That is all your order. Please verify everything is there and then I will have you sign the release form. Oh, shoot I forgot it. I will be right back you can start checking your order." The girl ran back into the store and behind the counter.

She riffled through a drawer and found what she needed. She looked it over quickly and saw she had all the paperwork for the customers on what they ordered and the release form that they had gotten everything. She started back out to the loading bay when her boss came up beside her. She jumped slightly when he placed a hand on her shoulder, as she was engrossed in verifying she had all the paperwork.

"EEEP! Mr. Moshida! Don't do that!" The girl said as she mocked glared at him.

"I was just wondering what you were reading it seemed interesting." He told her.

"I was making sure I had all the paperwork for that big order they are out on the dock now going over it." She told him as he nodded.

"You know they said they didn't bring a truck and that they would carry it themselves there was only seven of them." The girl continued as Mr. Moshida followed her to the loading dock.

When they entered, the dock they watched stunned as the group was going through each box then when satisfied it disappeared into a shimmer circle of light. In the time, that the sales representative was gone they had verified and stored three quarters of the items. Her boss and she just watched fascinated as they moved quickly. Mr. Moshida took the papers and stepped forward.

"Hello, I am the owner of this store Mr. Moshida. Have we gotten everything you asked for?" He said suddenly his employee behind him.

"Yes Mr. Moshida it seems everything we ordered is here." Kalya said as she and those with her finished putting the last of the items into their storage space.

"Uh I hope I don't sound to presumptuous but how do you do that!?" The computer storeowner asked his face filled with awe.

"There are several schools that use chi and ki and allow for the creation of chi and ki storage. My school allows for not only the storage of items and weapons but the distribution of the weapons and the ability to recall them." Mousse said as he moved from one stack of boxes to the next loading up his storage.

"Really, that is fascinating!" Kalya turned as he handed her the paperwork. She read it carefully and then signed all the pages she needed to sign.

"Here is your final payment." Rouge handed him the stack of yen he required.

"Tha...Thank you. You could have just wrote a check or gotten a cashier check at the bank." He told the elder as he quickly verified it was all there and whether he needed to give them change.

"No we are fine this way for now. Do you need an escort to take that to the bank?" Rouge asked him as he looked down at the five foot seven inch beauty as she signed the receipt for the money.

"Thank you no the bank sends armored cars for our cash deposits every day after I have counted the day's take. I am also a master of Ti Kwon Do. Not as good as you are I believe but not bad." He winked at Rouge, those with her giggled as she blushed.

"You ain't kidding there! OW!" Kalya giggled then rubbed her head with a mock glare at her Amazon mother.

"Be quiet child. Thank you for your help in this these will help many of our warriors get the schooling they need while we are here." She then turned and headed out the exit to the loading dock the others following behind her.

"*WHISTLE* Man she is beautiful!" He told his employee as they turned and headed back into the store.

Akane got off the train she was still angry at being dismissed but by the time, the train pulled into Tokyo station she realized she was out of line. Even if Happosai unlocked her skills, she was not on the level of any of those inside that compound. She started for home then realized she really did not want another frozen TV dinner. She had been frugal with her money and decided to eat out. She stopped at the map near the ticket booth. She looked at the list of restaurants for what she felt like and where they were in relation to the train station and her apartment.

She smiled as she found about four that seemed interesting. She took samples of the menus then went to a seat to look over them. She smiled as two of them delivered. She decided to try them first this way if she wanted she could have food brought to her. However, not to often she could not afford it. She looked over the menus and noticed they were all very reasonable. She then decided to try the one closest to her apartment, as she feared the others might be to far away to get delivery. She looked at the clock and realized she had been there for almost an hour. She shrugged and headed for the door.

"AKANE WAIT UP!" Akane turned and a frown formed on her face followed by a thin line of red even though Happosai blocked her skill her repressed rage had to escape a little or she would explode.

"Hi Akane we tried to catch you in Nerima! So how about you show us around and we can come stay at your place for a few days and catch up!" Sayuri's chipper attitude had no effect on the enraged girl as she glared at them her aura growing black.

"Are you two mentally challenged or do you just have a _death wish_? I told you two when you called you are not welcomed in my life! Go find someone else to spy on it won't be me! If you ever come near me again you will end up in the hospital." Akane snarled at them as they took a step back from her.

"You have no skills Nabiki told us the old perv locked them away." Yuka smiled, as she was glad of that but the black around Akane made her nervous.

"I still have my strength. I have my rights to tell you to stay the HELL AWAY FROM ME! *SLAP SLAP*!" Akane slapped them both and her point was made as they flew back from her twenty feet.

"If you _ever_ come near me again I will make a formal complaint of stalking, harassment, anything else I can think of. You can also tell Nabiki I will notify the dean of the university and will get her thrown out of school for her yakuza behavior! Oh and they will escort you out of school as well for I will notify them of your complicity in her antics." Akane turned and stormed out of the station.

The two old friends of Akane watched her go. They helped each other off the floor and were tempted to follow her. Then the stinging on their cheeks told them they had better not. They really did not want her getting them thrown out of college. The money they made being Akane's friends was what was paying for their schooling. They turned and boarded the train back to Nerima. They decided it would be best to get a regular job.

They took their seats and talked quietly. They really did like Akane for the most part. They just could not stand her bullying and unprovoked attacks. They hated her arrogance the most. The fact she held back a lot told them she was trying to control her anger. They decided to give her time to cool off and then approach her again though this time with the promise nothing they said to each other would end up in Nabiki's hands. They just hoped she believed them.

Soun sat in his living room he watched as his friend was hauled away by the police. Then his gaze fell on the garnet haired girl. She was whom he was trying to get. That had to be Ranma he smiled happily as he jumped up and ran out the door. He had to find Ranma he had to combine the schools so the Tendo-ryuu would not die. Mrs. Konita poked her head out of the kitchen and frowned. She moved to the front door and closed it. She heard the TV then looked and found the living and dining room empty. She moved to the television and shut it off her frown deepening.

(l(l(l)l)l)

The group returned to the compound. They headed to the outbuilding and entered. They first went upstairs and began to setup all the laptops on the desks. They then went downstairs and started to load the bookcases with training manuals on the laptops. They kept all the software with the laptops. They put them in the desk's drawer so it would be there if needed. Kalya looked around the main floor and smiled. It looked open and airy there was plenty of light but not glaring. She turned at the gentle touch and smiled at Rouge as she smiled back at her daughter.

"You did good daughter though you bought to many laptops." She told her blushing daughter.

"Yeah I guess but only a few extra. Those can be used as loaners when the warriors get to start going to classes. I think if anyone wants their own computer they will need to earn the money to buy it." Kalya said as Rouge nodded.

"Well we can also send the extras back to the village for our computer lab in the council hall. But we will discuss it." Rouge smiled and turned t leave.

They all left and headed back to the main building. A noise at the gate drew their attention. They saw Misty and Perfume talking to someone on the other side of the gate they could not get a good look at them as Perfume blocked the little access door in the gate. They headed on toward the compound when the voice on the other side of the gate began to shout.

"RANMA! RANMA! YOU MUST MARRY MY DAUGHTER AND JOIN THE TWO SCHOOLS OF ANYTHING GOES!" Kalya stopped and turned toward the gate her face in a mask of rage.

"No Kalya let Misty and Perfume deal with him." Mousse said as he and Pewter pulled her into the main building.

(l(l(l)l)l)

The training was finally over now that the three tribes were trained they began to plan in earnest. The elders had Kalya bring the Isis Orb to the table so they could include the rest of the elders. It was decided that they and the tribe would stay there to protect the valley as Seth may send some of his minions there to destroy the remaining warriors. Kiima joined them to inform Saffron of the battle plans. After the first meeting though Lord Saffron came to everyone against Kiima's wishes.

"So are you still planning to go into the Nexus?" Lord Saffron's voice boomed through the sphere.

"Yes the librarians have found more on going into the Nexus in the documents you and Prince Herb gave us. Ebon, Sara, and Sean have been going over the text on the Druids and we now know when to go." Kalya told them as she nodded to Ebon to continue.

"The ancient tomes the librarians were so kind to copy for me did not come right out and say we could but it hinted many times it could be done. According to what my brother, Sara and I have discovered is that the Druids believed that the vale between worlds is weakest at a new moon. They also said that the elemental magic of the world is strongest. Now once Ryoga and I go through the Nexus Sara and another warrior or two will be stationed inside the protective dome around the nexus until we can come out. We feel since the battle will last longer then one night we will need a Druid on the outside to help us when we cast the spell to get out." Ebon told the glowing ball and the others in the room.

"So what warriors will you leave in the protective sphere with my mom?" Ryoga asked not wanting her a part of this but she had told him she wanted to help.

"Well we are taking our strongest fighters with us and not all have the ability to do Druid magic. Those staying to fight were not really keen on being locked inside the dome with Sara to prevent Seth or anyone from coming out until you were finished." Cologne said with a scowl though she understood the feelings all the tribes were warriors first.

"What if when the battle was over Sara could remove the shield and then they could help her open the Nexus from this side?" Jeekot asked as he stared at the Irish woman with soft eyes.

"That might have to do though if something came out of the portal before us she would be the first to fall." Mousse said, as he looked sideways at Ryoga.

"Yes we can't have that! Her strength is almost equal to Ebon." Sapphire told the group to waylay Ryoga's rage.

"To bad Ryoga's siblings aren't here. As Sara's children they are sure to have Druid magic, their fighting skills are strong, and they would be able to keep their mother safe." Rouge told them as she tried to figure a way to get them here.

"The problem with that is they can turn around and disappear." Kalya said sadly as she and Ryoga had talked for hours about his family's curse trying to figure a way to break it.

"Then we will have to choose who will stay with Sara. There should be a member from each tribe staying with her that has Druid magic." The voice of Jasmine came across the Isis Orb.

"That might work, our strongest warriors in the magic go with the invading force. Those that remain we take the strongest from them to stay inside the shield." Jeekot said with contemplation.

"Remember Jeekot they are not only there to protect the Priestess Sara but to keep anything from coming through the Nexus. The shield is there not only to protect her but to slow down anything from coming through!" The voice of Lord Saffron came through the orb in the center of the table.

"Yes Lord Saffron. So they need to be good fighters and can combine their Druid magic into their weapons." Prince Herb added, as it, would be the power of the Druids that would do the most good at that.

"Yes very good Prince Herb." The voice to Thorn came across the globe.

"Then I think it should be Saamin and I. We not only have a high Druid magic though I am not sure how Saamin has that none of the other Phoenix warriors are so blessed. We are also trained fighters and are good at combining our powers together. We just need an Amazon to fight with us." Thyme explained as he looked at his fellow librarian.

"Saamin do you agree?" Saamin bowed his head as he heard Saffron's voice through the sphere.

"Yes Lord Saffron I do, Thyme and I have the most knowledge on the Druid history and magic. It would be best as we will know what won't and will work." Saamin left it at that and Saffron did not push any further.

"I think the best Amazon to leave behind is Powder. She is not as strong as most that have Druid magic but she is strong in fighting and in her magic. What say you Spray?" Mascara asked knowing Spray would want her heir in the heat of battle inside the Nexus.

"She is one of the better fighters she should be part of the party going into the Nexus." Spray's angry voice came through the orb and the elders all bowed their heads, as any heir here would have to go through to fight.

"I will do it." They all turned and saw Cinnamon standing behind the table.

"Are you sure Cinnamon?" Kalya asked her as she saw the longing to fight in the Nexus glow there.

"Yes, though I will not lie I want to fight inside the Nexus but protecting the Priestess is just as important. I am not as strong as Powder though I am close. I would like to work with someone to help me in combining my chi, ki, and Druid magic better. I would also like to borrow the tomes on the Druids and their magic." Cinnamon gave her terms.

"Very well Cinnamon you will work with Ebon on your magic and Sean on your knowledge they are the best on Druids. Also Saamin and Thyme will work with you on combining your power cores. We now have the three warriors that will protect Sara and keep anything from coming through except us of course." Lotus told them through the glowing orb.

"That may be a problem." Kalya said with a frown as she stared down at the table.

"What will daughter?" Chiffon asked her daughter.

"Seth is a god he can shift his appearance. Well I think he can to get what he wants." Kalya said as it led to another realization.

"He could cast an illusion on his army to look like ours and get through the Nexus." Nodoka whispered with fear.

"Yes I think he can." Kalya said as a voice came behind her that purred with rage.

"Kalya is correct as soon as she thought it Isis heard her. I have come to put a stop to that trick." Everyone but Kalya and her generals turned or looked up to see Sekhmet as her clawed hand fast as lightning reached out and grabbed Mr. Tabbs by the scruff of his neck then brought him close to pet.

(l(l(l)l)l)

The warriors began to plan the battle since there was more then they needed. There were to be twenty Amazon warriors they drew lots all but Cinnamon since her task was already set. She was off training with Ebon and Sean. Minuet agreed to help her as well. The three warriors were defiantly going by the choice of Kalya and her generals. Kalya made it clear that Frosta, Pewter, and Minuet were part of her generals though not gifted by Isis.

(l(l(l)l)l)

The new moon was in three months they had much to get ready one was getting Cinnamon trained in Druid history and magic. Minuet and Ebon worked with her on the magic while Sean and Snow Pea helped with the history. Then Saamin and Thyme worked with her on combining her core powers. It was not a quiet training session as Tendo Soun came everyday to try and retrieve Ranma. Finally, Nodoka had enough. She went to the gate then instead of opening the gate she flew over the top. She was surprised to see a young woman of twenty-one with him. She had sienna eyes and short bobbed hair. She looked a bit like Tendo so she assumed she was one of the daughters.

"Tendo you were told every day for the last two weeks _my_ son is dead! Now you either stay away from here or I call the authorities!" Nodoka glared at the man making him take a step back.

"I am sorry Mrs. Saoto...!" Nabiki was cut of by a glare then a cold icy voice she only wished she could master.

"I am Mrs. Sorenson I divorced the panda almost eight years ago for stealing my son." Nodoka glared at the young girl and saw as she fidgeted under the cold stare.

"I have agreed to be Ranma's wife to join our schools of Anything Goes." Nabiki tried she wanted in that compound she did not know why she just did.

"How can you marry a dead man?" The voice behind them drew their attention as Happosai and Kalya stood on the top of the twelve-foot tall fence.

"YOU ARE RANMA THAT IS JUST A CURSE!" Tendo said as he threw hot water at the garnet haired beauty as Nabiki stared in awe.

"NO YOU ARE RANMA GENMA SAID SO!" Soun shouted as he threw another thermos of hot water at the redhead.

"Soun my boy Genma lied to you! You have no school you refused to train any of your daughters and Akane lost the school to the Dojo Destroyer because of it. Nabiki doesn't know your school neither does Kasumi but she is already married. Akane-Chan's skills as meager as they are no longer exist. Now leave you and your yakuza daughter are not welcomed here!" Happosai said as he pulled a Happo Danken bomb from within his gi.

"Master what, is going on here? Why are all these people here!?" Nabiki was not going away without answers now that Ranma was truly dead.

"It doesn't concern you Miss Tendo please leave. Bother us again personally or by your spies and you will find yourself in a jail cell beside the panda." Kalya's crystal bell voice flowed over the Tendos if it was not for the rage in the delicate voice it would have put them at ease.

Kalya and Happosai disappeared before Nabiki could get her retort together. She had tried for several days to get information from her informants in the mayor's office but nothing. She knew her father was coming to this compound everyday and she followed him for a while. She tried to get a look inside but for some reason even looking down into the compound, she could see nothing. She suddenly realized the garnet haired girl and the pervert had disappeared. She stepped toward Nodoka but stopped when a blast of black lightning hit the ground in front of her.

"That Miss Tendo is a warning shot! The next time it will be a direct hit!" She looked up and saw a tall handsome gajin on the wall.

Nodoka jumped up backwards as if she knew never to turn her back on an Anything Goes fighter. The man grabbed her gently then disappeared back into the compound still holding Nodoka tightly. Nabiki ran forward, grabbed the handle of the gate, and tried to forcer her way in. The gate however had other ideas. A bolt of lightning struck her hand. She pulled her hand back quickly and rubbed it as a small burn began to form. Soun rushed up crying a mountain of tears as he examined her hand then picked her up and ran back toward Doctor Tofu's clinic. Nabiki was screaming all the way.

"DADDY PUT ME DOWN I AM FINE!" She kept screaming that one phrase until it slowly faded in the background.

Each evening Kalya, her Isis generals and their three Amazon friends along with Thyme and Saamin met in the community room at the apartment building. They went over what the tomes they had gathered and worked on the spells they would need. Since Ebon and Sara was needed to help cast these spells they were there as well with Cinnamon and Sean. Kalya refused any discussion on strategy for the battle as she felt the elders needed to be there. She was only interested in learning how to cast the spells to get through the Nexus and back.

"Why can't we talk about how to fight the battle?" Sage asked though the nudge from his loving wife was not noticed at the chuckles from the other warriors.

"HUH!?" Sage looked around confused causing everyone to bust out laughing.

"Because *GIGGLE* darling that part of this conversation needs to be done with the elders, Prince Herb and Jeekot present. They are our tribes designated leaders here and must be present to aid in the battle plans." Meran said as she leaned in close to him and whispered loudly in his ear making him shiver.

"Now Ebon, how goes Cinnamon's training?" Kalya asked wanting to make sure, she would be safe along with Sara.

"Well since Sara has joined our training they are both doing great. Sara wanted to make sure she had what she needed to know down pat. I and Sean had given them both copies of our tomes so they can read when they are alone." Ebon started with a warm smile.

"Yes it has been fascinating though I am afraid I do not have the ability to read as fast as they can. I love to read, and did learn speed-reading some time back. I am fairly, fast. I just don't read to fast so I don't miss something important." Sara said as she looked at the stack of tomes she had.

"That is great. When this is all finished you can go visit your family in Ireland and train them on the ancient Druids ways it might be helpful to us if we are called upon by Isis to do battle again." Dolphin said with a warm bright smile as Sara looked up and nodded.

"So you think we might need to fight again?" Sean asked, as he looked at all of Isis' chosen.

"It is a possibility after all we are all her chosen and children." Shen told Ebon as it still made those that were not linked by the spring nervous as they finished each other's thoughts and sentences.

"If that is the case would it be ok if my brother and I stay and help?" Sean asked them his eyes gleamed with excitement.

"Any that wish to remain at the compound are welcomed Sean." Nodoka said as she patted his hand.

"What about your family? Would you not want to let them know of your ability now to use your Druid magic?" Sage asked, as he was curious.

"Well that was our next favor. Our clan is not very large any longer many of them have married outsiders if you will, and moved away. Those that are still at the old manor home don't want anything to do with that part of our ancestry or us. They are jealous and fearful that it will bring down the wrath of those around them." Ebon said with a sad frown.

"Though there are a few of our clan that though they can't cast magic would like to know our history and be able to teach the next priest or priestess. We were wondering if they come here for training could they stay here in the apartments." Sean finished for his brother.

"That is what this building is for. Since we have created a protective barrier for it as well they will need to come to the compound so we can recalibrate the spell so they may enter and leave freely." Hayashi told them with a nod from the other Isis chosen.

"Thank you. That might work as well for Sara's family." Ebon told them and Sara nodded.

"So since you and your students are most familiar with the Druid texts what have you found out?" Niitmin asked as his mind wondered if he wanted to return to Phoenix Mountain.

They went over what Sara and Cinnamon had found when doing their reading and all the warriors took notes as to passages, pages and which book. They were excited to learn that some of the books contained Druid healing practices. Minuet and Mirako were studying them as well as Sara. The generals wanted to learn thos as well and set up a training time to get started at least. They talked well into the night. They talked about strategy in using the spell when and how to use the spell to return or did they have to wait for another new moon. They took down everything they talked about and prepared for their part in the entering of the Nexus. They just wished they could practice but since they did not know if doing so would leave an opening for Seth they decided to wait until the battle.

(l(l(l)l)l)

The days passed slowly as the warriors trained and prepared for the upcoming battle. The Isis warriors explained to the elders of the three tribes and those back at Jusendo what they found in increasing Cinnamon and Sara's knowledge of Druids. They told them what they planned on how to open the portal. They also warned them to stay on guard, as Seth was sure to send minions to the schoolyard to give him free clearance to enter their world. They might even show up at Jusendo since he wanted Jusenkyo as a base of operation that might not have changed.

The elders had long since gotten over being left out of the Isis chosen and the others Druid meetings. They figured they talked only of Druids and did not want to have to keep stopping to answer questions of those not knowledgeable in Druid history. They were happy though that Snow Pea as one of the librarians was there. She told them Kalya refused to do battle planning, as that was something they needed to do with all the elders. It was strictly getting into and out of the Nexus they were working on and other spells that might help.

As the time drew closer the Tendo patriarch, Nabiki and Akane started coming to the compound regularly trying to either join them or blackmail them, or get Kalya married to one of the last two daughters. After the third time they were met by five police cars and two very scary government officials. They were escorted away and threatened with imprisonment if they showed up at the compound again. The only one that showed any anger was Akane. She tried to keep it under control but the thin red line told the others differently. Nabiki just stewed in her own anger she wanted to get into that compound if she was right if she could get one of those bird people her life would be set.

As the time drew nearer, they noticed that Seth seemed to know it and was sending forth attacks. The attacks were not as strong as before as the Isis chosen had broken through all his sabotage of the ley lines. They monitored the attacks, as they had when they were in China they seemed to be just small nuisance runs, an attempt to get them to go fight halfway around the world. They refused as the time drew nearer their training increased and they prepared for the battle. The lots had been drawn and the sixty warriors for inside the Nexus were chosen. The remaining would stay outside to battle the minions they expected he would send to keep them busy.

The fighters prepared for their battle on the last night before the new moon. They all dawned the gifts from Sekhmet. These small trinkets were the only way they would know those fighting with them were friend or if Seth tried to trick them. Once the trinkets were on, they faded so they could not be seen. This was to prevent them being removed by anyone. The Isis warriors sat quietly in the buildings main level. They were sad that the battle would have to be fought at all. The only ones not there were Kalya, Nodoka, Mousse, and Mr. Tabbs. Kalya wanted to talk one more time with Isis before the battle.

(l(l(l)l)l)

Isis stood on the steps of her temple she knew Kalya was coming and she waited for her. She smiled as Kalya shimmered into view over the reflection pool. She landed at the bottom of the stairs only to be scooped up into the arms of her Isis momma. Kalya hugged her tightly as she was sure she did not want to leave them. Isis leaned back and stared down into the face of her daughter. She stared into her sapphire eyes and saw not only Ranma, but also Kalya-elf, and Andrea looking back. Kalya was all three of them and they all seemed proud of what she had accomplished and was about to do. They walked toward the pool then sat at the edge and as they always did, they dipped their feet into the cool water.

"Is everything ready?" Isis asked as Kalya nodded.

"Yes the battle is tomorrow night once the new moon rises. Everyone at Sekhmet's instructions put on the rings she gave us. We have all the warriors that will be in the battle whether inside the Nexus or schoolyard will wear the rings. That includes Morboka-san's warriors he and another twenty or thirty will join the battle. She did not think Mr. Tabbs needed one because of his extreme senses but she gave him one anyways." Kalya told her as she smiled as she lightly touched the invisible ring on her left ring finger.

"You have done well daughter you brought with you something we never thought of the magic of the Druids. Their alignment with the earth and their esoteric nature is something Seth has no control over. They may be what turns the tide in our favor." Isis said as she wrapped her arm around Kalya's shoulder.

"So how go the defenses in the pantheon?" Kalya asked as she hoped it would not reach that far.

"We have everything under control!" They turned to see Aker, Sekhmet, and Bastet behind them.

"AKER POPPA!" Kalya got up and ran to the god nearly knocking him down but not quite just enough to make the goddesses giggle even Sekhmet.

"We took a sample from you and your warriors. We contacted the pantheons. They agreed to aid us. If Seth breaks through to us as they will be the next to fall." Aker told the young warrior as he smiled down at her.

"Bastet even went to the Druid Pantheon and they have agreed as well. They were the ones that put much of the Druid books, tomes, and scrolls in Isis' library." Aker continued as he hugged his daughter.

"It was Sekhmet that worked with the Druids to create the rings. With Isis using her magic to recreate them from the diamonds in the pool, she infused them with some of her magic. Sekhmet then took them to the Druid Pantheon and they added their magic to them. That in turn will cause the rings to glow when near each other and become visible." Bastet told her as she pushed between Aker and Kalya to give the girl a hug.

"It however will not work unless they are a part of your team. That was why you all had to put them on the day before the battle. The rings needed to sync together even if Seth has the rings on his finger it will not respond as it is required to announce your team." Sekhmet came up and placed her hand on Kalya's shoulder.

"I wish we could have you there with us." Kalya told the goddess as she looked from her to Aker.

"I wish I could be there child but I am needed here encase Seth wins we have to be ready to fight." Sekhmet told her though Kalya could see the desire to fight against the murderer of Osiris.

"When does the battle start?" Isis asked as she came up to the three gods and Kalya.

"Tonight, as the new moon is in the sky." Kalya told them as she realized she needed to return.

"Then you better return daughter. Good luck we will talk again when the battle is won." Isis and the other three gods even Sekhmet hugged the warrior.

They then watched as she faded as she returned to her body. They needed to get to the schoolyard and prepare. No one had been able to enter the school's compound for over six months. After they, had the last battle there. They had gotten permission from the school board. They did not want to waste time creating the battle shield the day of the battle. They have however been there several times strengthening the shield to not only keep interlopers out but the enemy in. Kalya woke her eyes fluttered opened as a twenty-pound weight jumped in her lap. She looked down and smiled as Mr. Tabbs put his paws on her shoulders and kissed her nose glad she was back.

"How did it go daughter?" Nodoka asked a bit of jealousy that she had to share her daughter with so many mothers.

"It was interesting let's get downstairs I have some additional information for everyone." Kalya said as she got to her feet Mr. Tabbs in her arms purring.

(l(l(l)l)l)

"Will they fight with us in the battle?" Ebon asked after being told it was the Druid Pantheon that put all the books he now had into Isis' library.

"I am not sure about the Druids but they might not. They are gearing up for war in the Pantheons. If Seth breaks through our defenses, he will try to take over the Egyptian Pantheon. They have talked with the others and all the Pantheons believe it would be disastrous if Isis fell. They are fighting with them if Seth makes it to them. That includes the Druid Pantheon." Kalya said as they prepared to leave and head to Furinkan High School.

"That does not mean they won't help they might just to make sure Seth does not make it that far." Kalya told him as he nodded his understanding.

"When this is over would you take my thanks to the Druid Pantheon for allowing me to have copies of our history and magic." Ebon asked as Kalya nodded she would.

"I will get Bastet to take me to their Pantheon I want to thank them as well. I believe it is what will help us win the war." Kalya said with a deep sigh.

"Well let's go it is almost moon rise." Ebon told everyone as they, headed out, and took flight.

(l(l(l)l)l)

The glowing red eyes watched as the compound emptied. They followed the flight of the fighters. They mostly followed the flight of the winged warriors. They left the alley and took off after them. A cell phone was plastered to their ear. They realized the group was heading toward the high school and told the person on the other end of the phone. They hung up and moved more quickly to the school. Her boss would be at the school but she was prepared and started taking photographs of the airborne fighters. If anything, her boss would have proof then persuade them to surrender a winged fighter. The scowl on the face of the girl as she entered the light of a street lamp told anyone there to see that it bothered her to force someone into a laboratory for study and maybe death.

(l(l(l)l)l)

Nabiki hung up her cell then gathered her camera equipment. She planned to set up on the building across from the schoolyard. The owners owed a big favor. She had gotten the key earlier from them as she got them to leave town. She was not heartless she also wanted to protect a source of information and income. She had digital still camera and a video camera. She had extra memory cards to make sure she got everything. She picked up her book bag and laptop bag and headed out of her room.

"I am going out have a meeting! Oh and daddy you have a job by next week Monday or you go stay in the tent the panda left in the woods. I closed Kasumi as a place for you to go." She called but was out the door before her nervous and frightened father could stop her.

(l(l(l)l)l)

Nabiki ran to the school as she made the last turn she did not see anything happening she sighed in relief as she had made it in time. She entered the house across the street from the school. She shut the door and locked it then headed upstairs. She made it to the second floor hallway and pulled down the hide-a-stairs. She moved into the attic and smiled, as there was a heavy-duty extension cord plugged in and ready for her laptop if she needed it. She moved to the door to the roof and pulled the cord with her up the ladder to the roof. She looked around and saw as a large shadow was heading her way toward the school. She setup the tripod and the video camera then started filming. She stayed low, as she did not want to be forced back home. Once they landed into the schoolyard, she set the camera on the yard. She frowned, as she could not see anything it has been that way for months. She just hoped her cameras could pick up what she could not see.

"Nabiki!" Her barely audible name came from below.

Nabiki looked over and saw her minion waving at her. She pulled out the keys to the front door and let them fall. The girl caught them and headed up to the roof to help her boss. She hoped she could talk Nabiki out of selling one of those magnificent bird people to a lab. Something made her shutter as she felt any attempt to do so would be the last thing she attempted.

(l(l(l)l)l)

"Did you lock the front door?" Nabiki asked as the girl started snapping pictures of the schoolyard like Nabiki hoping her camera would pick up what their eyes could not.

"Yes, I also made sure to close all the curtains and make sure the windows, backdoor and basement door was locked as well. I don't want to have a burglar sneak in while we are here." Nabiki nodded, as she had always liked Sekuo she had a good head on her shoulders but she also had to big a heart.

Sekuo was about sixteen she had taken over her sister's position as Nabiki's eyes and ears at the high school. She was five feet eight, black purple hair, and deep dark chocolate brown eyes. She had a square face though it was soft angles. Her wide brown eyes sat on either side of a short thin nose that ended over a pair of medium lips. She wore her hair long just past her shoulder blades on her back. She was wearing a pair of black denim jeans and a black turtleneck sweater. She carried a bright pink book bag that she had covered with her black trench coat. She wore black tennis shoes.

They continued with the picture taking, Sekuo and Nabiki taking turns replacing memory sticks as they filled up. They would look later at what was on them. They jumped slightly as the sound of battle rang out from the schoolyard. They contemplated if they should contact the authorities then decided not to since they had just arrived on their own. They continued to point their cameras at the school and tried to see what was going on but could not see through the shield.

"Nabiki look! The press is here. They are trying to open the gate!" Sekuo said as she pointed as the large group of reporters rushed the gates.

"Why aren't the police stopping them?" She continued then looked at Nabiki to see the evil grin on her face.

"They can't get in." Nabiki said as she pointed back at the gate.

The screams drew Sekuo's attention back to the school gates. She watched as the reporters tried to force their way through the gates only to be hit by lightning bolts. They kept trying and the more persistent they were the more powerful the lightning bolt became. She watched awestricken as the reporters like lemmings kept trying to get into school. She watched as they started to fall unconscious before the gate. It was then the police moved in and started pulling them away from the school. Sekuo turned at the new set of sirens and saw as ambulances began to show up it seemed their first causalities were the reporters there to get information.

"Well if our pictures pan out Nabiki-Chan you can sell clips to the TV News and newspaper." Sekuo said as they both looked up as a, spotlight hit the schools campus.

"Damn even that doesn't help!" Nabiki snarled as she looked through the viewfinder on her camera and still saw nothing.

"Well if that shield goes over the top they aren't getting any pictures either." Sekuo told her as Nabiki nodded.

(l(l(l)l)l)

Kasumi and Tofu watched on the TV as the police surround the gates of Furinkan High. They watched as the reporters tried to force their way into the schoolyard. She gasped in horror as they were all struck by lightning. Tofu rose and went downstairs to his clinic. Kasumi tore herself away from the TV turning it off and followed him down the stairs. She watched as he gathered some supplies in preparation to leave to go help.

"You can't get into the schoolyard and the ambulances have shown up to take the reporters to the hospital." Kasumi said as he nodded but he wanted to help.

"I have an idea why not notify the police to bring the non-critically injured people here that way the hospitals won't be swamped." Kasumi said as Tofu smiled and kissed her then made the call.

"This is Doctor Tofu of Tofu's Clinic I want to know if there is anything I can do to help." Tofu listened as the voice on the other end of the phone told him they did not need to have someone else to worry about with all the reporters.

"Yes I thought so but if you can spare some of the police they can bring the non-critical injured to my clinic. I can take care of them and leave those that really need to go to the hospital." Tofu smiled as they took him up on his offer.

"Alright yes I am three blocks from the school. My wife and I will be waiting." Tofu hung up the phone then passionately kissed his wife.

"You are brilliant. They will call for another half dozen officers to bring those that can walk or not terribly injured here. I hope we got enough supplies." Kasumi returned the kiss.

"Here it is still early let's call some of the pharmacies in the area and see if they will deliver us some additional supplies.

"Alright the police don't think there will be too many just reporters. No one can get through the gates. They can't get over the walls or from above either. It is as if the school is covered in a magical dome." He told her as she started dialing her cell phone while he used the clinic's phone.

After about an hour deliveries from six of the local pharmacies were in front of the clinic. The delivery boys took the payment and large tips for their delivery then left. Kasumi started putting the extra supplies in each exam room. She split them up evenly then put the extra away in case they needed them later. The last delivery as an elderly man he ran the pharmacy on the edge of Tomobiki and Nerima. He came with much more then they asked for.

"This is more then we reques...!" Tofu started the old man put up his hand.

"No it is not. I was listening to the news over here and though no one can see or get inside the campus, I saw the previous attacks. The overage is my donation to your efforts to help. Will they let you go to the school?" He asked as he helped Kasumi and Tofu put away the additional supplies.

"No the reporters are making it difficult they're the ones that are getting hurt outside the campus. It seems there is a magical shell over the school. I think to prevent people from going in while the battle is raging and form keeping what is inside getting out." Tofu told the pharmacist.

"Yes I drove by the school. The police have blocked off access to the gates after they got the injured reporters sent to the hospital. I think they had new officers arriving as I drove by they set their cars up as a barrier so it is harder to get to the school." He said as he took money only for what Tofu ordered.

"Yes I contacted the police they said they would send another half a dozen officers to bring non-critical injured here my wife and I will take care of them." Tofu told the old man as he nodded handing Tofu a card with his number on it.

"I live above my store if you need any more call me." The man slapped Tofu on the back then smiled at Kasumi and headed out the door.

"Thank you Mr. Hiroka." Tofu said as he walked the elderly man to his car.

Tofu watched until he disappeared in the distance. He then turned and reentered his home and business. Kasumi was at the door her face full of worry. She hoped it would not be necessary. However, since they could not get inside to take care of the wounded they would have to wait until the conflict was over. She just hoped the mayor notified the train depot to not run trains here they do not need others showing up to get in the way. An image of Akane entered her mind as Tofu reached her. He put his arm around her waist and led her back into the clinic shutting the door.

(l(l(l)l)l)

Akane watched as there was a battle raging but no one could get inside to see it or help. She frowned, as she should be there. She probably could get in she should be helping. She rose to leave when her phone rang. She did not want to answer it she knew it was either Nabiki or Kasumi. She sighed as it would not stop and she did not want to anger her neighbors. She moved to her phone and answered it.

"Moshi, Moshi!" Akane answered her mouth turned down into a cute frown.

"Akane-Chan it's me! Please stay away from Furinkan you can't help no one can get in the entire campus is under a protective dome." She heard Kasumi's voice over the phone.

"But I can help!" Akane told her trying not to snarl.

"Help do what? What skills do you have sister? You lost your right to practice the art _now stay home_!" Kasumi's voice rose with anger but she also heard the worry there as well.

"I want to do something sister. I want to help in some way." Akane said as the anger left her.

"Wait until tomorrow it is no telling how long this fighting will last. It seems though that those that are fighting against what ever it is wants Nerima residence to be safe. That is the only reason I can think of for the shield. Come to the clinic in the morning and if you can bring some foodstuffs with you tea, cakes, cookies. We are taking care of the non-critical injured and we can use an extra pair of hands." Kasumi compromised with her younger sister, which caused Akane to smile.

"Alright sister I'll get the supplies when I get to Nerima. Is there anything else I can get?" She asked as she wrote down what Kasumi already told her.

"No we are taking only ambulatory patients if they can't walk here with the officers they will be going to the hospital. I guess that means we don't need extra blankets. If we do we can get them from father." Kasumi told Akane as she put the pen down and frowned at the report on the laptop.

"Sis it seems to be getting worse according to some of the reporters they tried to get into the schoolyard from the other side. They said the police are now sending more police to that area. Oh, wait a large group of ninjas just showed up. They jumped the police cars and were able to open the gate. OH MY KAMI-SAMA, their fighting animal headed men!" Akane told her sister as the last ninja entered the gate it slammed shut in the face of a few reporters that got over the police car.

"Oh my were any of the reporters hurt?" Kasumi asked since their TV was upstairs she was not watching.

"A couple though they seem to be able to walk. They may be coming your way. I will leave now if any more warriors enter that gate there will be other idiots trying to go with them." Akane hung up the phone.

She moved to her closet she pulled out a backpack and filled it with a week's change of clothes. She did not want to miss classes but this was important. She finished then took her laptop locked up her apartment and headed out. She paused before going out the door figuring there might not be any stores opened when she got there. She went to her desk and grabbed her list. Then she left locking up her home and heading out.

(l(l(l)l)l)

Akane got off the train and quickly headed out to go to the clinic. She was tempted to go to the high school but thought better of it as she had no way to get in or fighting. As she moved toward the clinic, she spotted a store that was still opened. She went in and quickly bought a large supply of tea, cookies, cakes, sugar, powdered cream, napkins, paper saucers, and Styrofoam cups. There was no since standing on ceremony. She left after getting some of the reusable shopping bags she wanted them any way. She then moved on deeper into Nerima.

What she had should do well the tea anyway the rest should last until tomorrow and she could go get more then. She picked up her pace and started to run toward the clinic. She rounded the last corner and saw as several policemen were escorting some injured reporters into the clinic. Evidently more tried to force their way into the campus. She smirked when one tried to bolt back to the school but found a gun in his face. She came up behind the officer as the reporter turned and went into the clinic.

"Excuse me officer I am here to help my sister and brother-in-law." The officer turned and smiled at the young woman laden down with grocery sacks.

"I see you must be the food brigade." He asked his handsome face made Akane's knees turn to rubber.

"Yep well at least until I can get more tomorrow. Right now it is just tea, cakes and cookies." Akane told him as he took the bags from her and helped her carry them inside the clinic.

"How many patients have been brought here?" She asked the young officer as she noticed his physic and martial artist grace.

"This is our third group it varies. They keep trying to get in over the walls. I wish some of those ninjas would have stayed outside the fence to prevent them from doing that." He told her as she pointed him down the hall to the kitchenette.

"I saw what was being fought in there when they arrived they remind me of Egyptian deities." She told him hoping if he knew anything, he might tell her.

"Yeah I saw them too and it looks like they are brutal. I am glad the warriors fighting them erected that dome or those evil things would have used the innocent people in Nerima as canon fodder." He told her and she shivered at that thought.

"Akane I told you not to come until tomorrow! It is to dangerous!" Kasumi said as she came out of an exam room.

"I did as I promised Onee-Chan I stayed away from the school but I came with supplies." She smiled as she pointed to the officer helping her.

"I left everything just inside your kitchenette. I need to get back see you later I am sure." He bowed then winked at Akane as he walked out the door.

Akane watched him leave and smiled. She then jumped at the light touch on her shoulder. She turned to see a smile on Kasumi's face what shocked her was it was a real smile one she had not seen there since their mother died. She also saw the worry and felt guilty for putting it there. Kasumi hugged her sister tightly as she was happy Akane was there and safe.

"What about your classes?" Kasumi asked as she led Akane into the kitchenette to put away what she brought.

"I am going to call the dean's office tomorrow. I brought my laptop so I can keep up with homework and reading assignments." Akane told her sister as the elder girl smiled at her little bratty sister was finally growing up.

"Do you want me to make the tea? That is about the only thing I can make without messing it up. I am getting better though once a week I make my own dinner from scratch." Akane said with a proud smile.

"Alright sis there is china...!" Akane stopped her sister.

"Nope these people are dangerous idiots! They get paper saucers and Styrofoam cups! If they manage to get into that battle the ones fighting those monsters will be divided trying to protect them and fight to protect the rest of Nerima." Akane snarled making sure the ones in the waiting room heard her.

"Alright sister we don't have time to wash all that stuff all the time anyway." Kasumi winked at her and went back into another exam room.

Akane began to put away what she brought. She brought eight boxes of tea plus a large variety of cookies and snack cakes. While the water came to a boil she pulled out one of the silver plastic platter, and paper doillies that she purchased and began to arrange the snacks to place on a table in the waiting room. She paused, as she would have to set up that table.

"Excuse me, please." Akane turned and glared at the woman at the door.

"May I help you prepare the tea and...pastries?" Akane looked at the young girl she seemed frightened but not to badly hurt.

"Sure what is your name? What news agency do you work for?" Akane asked as the girl hobbled in to the kitchenette and started making tea.

"I am not a reporter. When the ninjas went into the campus a stray bolt from a dog headed man struck the house where I and my friend were on the roof." The girl said as Akane put out some of the cookies and cakes on a platter to set out in the waiting room.

Akane had noticed there was a small table out there so she got out the percolator urn and filled it full of water. She then pulled out a plastic bowl to hold a supply of tea bags. She then left and set up the cups, dessert saucers, and napkins. She returned to the kitchen the young girl had finished with a pot of tea and took some cups to serve those in the waiting room. Akane then took the urn into the waiting room and plugged it in so the water could boil. She ran back to the kitchenette and grabbed the bowl of tea bags and sugar. She then ran back to the waiting room. Akane then placed them around the urn. She turned when the tray of cookies and cakes were placed on the table.

"Thank you for your help, but shouldn't you be resting until the doctor can see you?" Akane asked the young girl, as she shook her head no.

"I am worried about my friend, well boss really. I am Sekuo by the way I go to Furinkan. My boss and I were on the roof of the house that was struck. I just got grazed but she got most of the blast. The police sent her to the hospital. Since I was not family they brought me here." Akane was beginning to feel frightened as that scenario sounded familiar.

"Sekuo wh...who is your boss?" Akane asked her nervousness evident.

"Huh? Oh Tendo Nabiki...!" Sekuo jumped at the scream from the girl in front of her.

"NNNOOOO! KASUMI TOFU, COME QUICKLY!" They turned as the two summoned showed up.

"Kas...Kasumi Nabiki *CHOKE* she was hurt she was there! Sekuo *CHOKE* was with her she is at the hospital!" Akane spoke quickly her voice cracking with restrained sobs.

"OH MY KAMI-SAMA!" Akane, you call father. Darling we have to go to the hospital!" Kasumi turned to her husband who took her in his embrace.

"I can't leave my patients or the other wounded. You and Akane go call me when you get there and find out anything." Tofu told his distraught wife as she nodded.

"Doctor Tofu I am a nurse's aid at the hospital. I don't know much but I am handy with bandages. I can help you until they get back. Please though let me know what is going on." Kasumi nodded to the girl as Akane hugged her and thanked her.

"Thank you if you weren't there the police might not have known she was and we would have lost her." Akane followed Kasumi out the door or tried to as several of the reporters blocked them.

Akane's tiny aura was masked by the blackish yellow aura around her sister. The reporters moved quickly out of the two women's way. The chuckle behind them told them they were lucky they moved. Tofu moved to the door and watched as his glowing wife and Akane as they ran down the street toward their home. He phoned a taxi company to be there to take the three of them to the hospital. He then called his wife and told her a cab was coming for them.

The doctor shut the door then found the same reporters blocking his attempt to return to his patients. He then moved at lightning speed. When he stepped over the fallen reporters, he left them there trying to get up. Sekuo stifled a giggle and followed the good doctor to help those in the exam rooms. He stopped at each room that Kasumi was dealing with. He smiled as much of what needed to be done was done. He examined them then sent them on their way. As he entered the exam room where his patient was, he turned to Sekuo and smiled at her.

"Go get the next three patients and put each one in an empty room. There are some papers that need to be filled out just ask them the question and write down what they tell you then hang the clipboard up by the door. You will see it in the room when you take each one in." Sekuo nodded as she looked where he was pointing.

"If there is anything on there from the previous patient remove it before you leave the room we don't want those nosey reporters reading things they should not. Also Sekuo you better call your parents they might be worried about you." Sekuo smiled and nodded.

She then before going to get the new patients went into each room and cleaned them up pulling off the used paper on the exam table cleaning the counters and sinks. Checking supplies then as she left she pulled the papers from the clipboards then placed them in the Doctors office after stapling together the pages for each patient and put them in his in box. He watched her and smiled, as she would make a good nurse or doctor. He disappeared into the exam room as she filled the clipboards then went to get three new patients. She put one in each of the rooms then took a pen from the doctor's desk and went into the first room to get the needed information.

Nabiki and Sekuo watched and took still snapshots as they monitored the video camera to be able to change the memory sticks. They watched surprised as twenty or more fighters dressed as ninjas jumped the police cars. What surprised them was that the police did not even try to stop them. The two spies watched as the lead ninja opened the gate and they got their first look inside. Nabiki and Sekuo took pictures after pictures the line of ninjas acting as a barrier to prevent the reporters from getting into the campus.

One or two of the ninjas physically threw the more aggressive reporters over the cars and into the waiting arms of the police. As the last ninja entered, he quickly closed the gate but was not fast enough. A blast from a dog headed man shot at the ninja closing the gate. He jumped up and the blast went through the gate. When the ninja landed he quickly slammed the gate in the face of several of the reporters. He did not hear the shouts of pain from the outside as the battle raged in his ears. He evoked his shadow ability and smiled as many of the Amazons and Musk were using them as well.

"NABIKI!" The scream rocked the neighborhood.

The police turned and looked around when one looked up and saw a young girl covered in blood as she tried to lift something heavy. They ran to the house and could not get in. They were about to break in the door when a young officer stopped them. He backed up and took a running start toward the house then jumped to the roof. He then ran back downstairs and let in his compatriots. They ran upstairs and into the still opened attic. The sound of crying drew them to the edge of the roof facing the school.

"Nabiki please wake up we got to get you to the hospital." They came on a sight that shocked them.

The sixteen year old girl was trying to wake a twenty-one year old girl both were covered her blood. Though they doubt the younger one was covered in her own blood. They ran forward, the young police pulled the girl away from the young woman, and they began to examine them. The young officer called the ambulance and told them the front door was opened and to come to the roof. He asked if they should bring her down and they told him no and not to move her.

The ambulance arrived a few minutes latter. One of the officers went to the stairs into the attic. They had unplugged the girl's laptop so the EMTs did not get caught in the cord on the way to the roof. The officer heard them coming up the main stairs. Then up the attic steps. When he heard them in the attic he shouted for them.

"The stairs are over here!" He waited and then stepped back as the EMTs moved up the steep stairs. They headed toward the front of the house and found the young officer trying to hold the young girl away from the one on the ground. They examined her and found a life-threatening wound. The gapping hole was just below her heart. She was having difficulty breathing. They pushed drainage tube down her throat and attached it to a large bag. The girl screamed as the blood came from her friend.

"NABIKI!" The younger office held on to her tighter to keep her out of the way of the medical team.

They next gave her oxygen from a small cylinder of oxygen. They gently put the cylinder under her shoulder after they put her on a hand carried gurney. They took her downstairs slowly the other police helping them. The sixteen year old was not badly hurt a gash on her arm the officer told them they had a local doctor that wanted to help and he was taking all victims that were not injured badly. The EMTs nodded in relief. Though they only got the reporters that would not take no for an answer.

Sekuo watched as her friend was taken away. Her tears flowed like rain. She let the young officer lead her toward the local doctor. Her gaze was behind them as she stared after the ambulance and her only friend. When she went around the first corner, she turned forward and let the officer lead her toward the clinic. Her mind was seeing that strange blast coming toward them. She shouted a warning but Nabiki did not move fast enough. It sliced through her arm then hit Nabiki before she could move. The blast hit her below her heart and left a large cauterized wound. The young girl tried hard to stem the flow of blood she finally pulled her black trench coat over the wound and held it in place then the officers came. She shuddered as she was going to be seeing that forever every time she closed her eyes.

Kasumi and Akane ran into their home, they found Soun sitting at the table drinking tea. The television was eerily quiet. Mrs. Konita had already left after cleaning up the dinner dishes. Akane went to the closet as Kasumi ran to her father and grabbed his arm in an iron grip and pulled him to his feet. The stunned man stared confused at his daughters then he smiled and began to cry a torrent of tears.

"OH MY BABIES HAVE RETURNED!" Soun's happiness was cut short when Kasumi slapped him hard across his face.

"Father where, is Nabiki?" Kasumi asked him his gaze confused as he stared between his two daughters.

"She went out earlier she said she had a meeting. Why?" He turned his statement into a question his face filled with fear at the pain on his daughters' faces.

"Daddy have you been watching the news the battle at Furinkan has been on!?" Akane asked him as he looked at her thoughtfully.

"Well I started but all I saw was reporters trying to get themselves killed and release the protected battle zone into Nerima!" Soun snarled, as he was still not listening.

"DADDY! Nabiki was there she was hurt and is at the hospital and it is not good!" Akane shouted then calmly told their father what was going on.

"OH NO NOT MY BABY!" He tried to run out the door like a lunatic but his daughters stopped him.

"Daddy settle down we have a taxi coming it should be here any minute. Now get your shoes on!" Akane told him as they heard the horn of the cab out front.

The Tendo daughters dragged a Soun Tendo hopping on one leg as he tried to put on his last shoe. They got into the cab and sped off toward the hospital. They told Soun about Sekuo how she was brought to the clinic since her injuries were not life threatening. She told Akane about how she got wounded. She never mentioned Nabiki by name but Akane explained she knew Nabiki's tactics and realized it was she, which was gravely injured. Kasumi took out her cell and called the hospital she was angry when they would not give the condition over the phone. She then realized that they were probably getting calls from reporters pretending to be them to get a status.

The cab pulled up in front of the local hospital. There were twenty reporters waiting for them. As they got out of the cab cameras went off as the little family moved through the reporters saying nothing. When they reached the door a security officer met them. Kasumi showed her ID and said they were the family of Tendo Nabiki the victim at the battle at Furinkan High. He smiled as he knew Kasumi by sight since she had been there training for her medical license and with her husband. He opened the door for them while body checking a reporter trying to follow them in. He turned and glared at the reporter as he had fallen to the ground screaming obscenities.

"This is a hospital keep your voice down!" The guard snarled as he went in the door.

"Mrs. Ono your sister is in surgery they did not know who she was and the young girl was in shock and could not tell them. They had to operate or lose her." The guard told them, as everyone in the hospital was worried for the young woman and hospital gossip moved quickly.

"Thank you Officer Yamguchi." Kasumi tried to smile but the burly guard just patted her hand in a fatherly gesture and pointed her to the elevators.

"She is on the third floor check with the nurses station I will let them know you are coming." Kasumi nodded and led her family to the elevator.

The guard picked up the hospital phone and dialed the third floor nurse's station. He kept his gaze out the door at the reporters to be sure none snuck in while he was talking. He told her Kasumi was the sister of the patient brought in from the Furinkan battle and she and her family were coming up. Everyone knew Kasumi and Tofu and enjoyed having Kasumi at the hospital. She always no matter what would go to the children's ward before she left to cheer up the children.

"Mrs. Ono I contacted the operating room and told the doctor you were here the orderly that answered promise to give him the message." The nurse said as she led the family to the waiting room.

A young candy striper came a few moments later with tea. The Tendos smiled at her wondering if Sekuo worked here. They did not have time to ask as the young girl was summoned to continue her duties. Akane watched her go back to work. Her mind wondered to her life. She did not see martial arts grace of skill she saw what everyone else saw a bully. She sighed as her tears fell. She jumped as Kasumi dabbed her tears with a Kleenex.

"I should have been there I should have protected her!" Akane said as she forgot her revelation a few seconds earlier.

"You could do nothing Akane! Your skill what little you have is locked. Besides you know Nabiki would have never told any of us where she was going." Kasumi whispered as she wrapped her arms around Akane's shoulders.

"But we should have known she would find a way to be there to get pictures and videos! If she could make money we should have known." Akane whispered back leaning her head against Kasumi's shoulder.

"Yes I guess we should have but we didn't we had hoped she had given up that part of her life." Kasumi said with a slight frown as she pulled Akane closer.

The Tendos stayed that way for almost two hours. Finally the doctor came through the doors marked O.R. they rose to their feet as he moved toward them. His face was grim and his eyes showed great strain and pain. The Tendo sisters feared the worst Soun ran toward the doctor before they could grab him. He grabbed the doctor by his hospital scrubs and shook him violently. Kasumi and Akane ran forward and grabbed their father prying his death grip from the doctor. Once Soun was hauled back, Kasumi helped the doctor while Akane controlled her father.

"I am sorry about that doctor father tends to be overly emotional. How is Nabiki?" Kasumi asked as she helped him to his feet.

"It is alright Mrs. Ono I can understand. Not good I am afraid. The wound was cauterized by the blast that hit her. She however has extensive damage. She is in ICU and being closely monitored." He told the wife of Tofu Ono.

"I WANT TO SEE MY DAUG...OOF!" Tendo started shouting then was cut off by Akane's elbow to his solar plexus glad she still had her strength as he doubled over.

"Be quiet daddy this is a hospital!" Akane whispered to him then gave the doctor a cheeky grin.

"I am afraid that is not possible Tendo-san. She is still very critical and needs constant monitoring. We are right now worried about infection. Go home you won't be able to see her for some time." The doctor patted Kasumi's shoulder then turned and left them in the waiting room their faces full of worry and shock.

"Mrs. Ono!" Kasumi turned to see the nurse standing there she smiled at the woman.

"Yes!?" She asked as the woman and several orderly came forward carrying boxes.

"We heard you and Doctor Ono were taking care of the less critical patients at the clinic. The Hospital administrator asked that we send these to you. Would you be able to take them with you now?" The nurse asked as Kasumi smiled and saw boxes of bandages, antibiotic cream, surgical thread and needles, and sponges plus much more.

"Yes I will be calling for a cab to take us back home. Akane can you call the cab now hopefully, we can get through the reporters downstairs.

"Tell the cab to pull up at the loading dock in the back you can go out that way." The nurse explained as they smiled at her.

"Do you need any help it seems most of our critical patients are those reporters that keep trying to enter the battlefield. I understand there is some kind of protective dome over the school's campus?" She asked her eyes filled with worry.

"Yes those that are battling the evil there are trying to protect the innocents in Nerima. Akane saw them during the reinforcements of a clan of ninjas. She said they were animal headed men." Kasumi told her as she walked them to the freight elevator that went to the docks.

"You mean like in ancient Egypt." Kasumi nodded as she shuddered slightly.

"Yes but I don't think we will know anything until the battle is over." Kasumi said as she, her family and the orderlies entered the elevator.

"Please keep us posted on what you hear." The nurse asked her and Kasumi nodded a sad smile on her face as the doors closed.
