"Out For Blood."
The episode's opening recap begins with a scene from the very first episode, in which Alex is seen punching Steven in the face.
Chris: "Last time on Total Drama Island… Insanity!"
After Chris delivers his opening lines, a white flash overtakes the altercation and all twenty-two campers are seen being placed on their respective teams.
Chris: "Twenty-two campers began a grueling, summer-long power struggle…"
Clips throughout the competition's various challenges are shown. The first contestant shown is Nathalie, who can be seen attempting to push the mattress from the Xtreme sports challenge. Brooke is then shown throwing dodgeballs in slow motion as she performs a cartwheel across the arena. This is followed by the Screaming Gophers carrying a canoe on Boney Island, and Henry taking a leap of faith into the shark-filled waters below.
Chris: "Divided into two teams of eleven, the Screaming Gophers and Killer Bass competed against each other in challenges that tested their strength…"
Kelly is seen carrying a large crate across beach, another scene from the two part premiere.
Chris: "...wits…"
Sarah, Wyatt, Brooke, and Hector are shown arguing after getting lost in the woods due to their inability to read a map.
Chris: "...and willpower!"
Several campers are shown having emotional breakdowns after being unable to perform in various challenge. Haley is seen crying in the rain, Krystal just seconds before her talent show performance, and Nourhan after being unable to conquer her greatest fear.
Chris: "After the conclusion of each challenge, the losing team attended the dreaded Campfire Ceremony where, each night, the campers were forced to vote off one of their own."
As Chris narrates the scene, the Killer Bass can be seen attending the very first Campfire Ceremony of the season. Steven can be seen eating the final marshmallow while Matt begins his walk down the dreaded Dock of Shame.
Chris: "The Screaming Gophers utilized these Ceremonies to create unity amongst themselves."
One by one, all of the eliminated Screaming Gophers are shown walking down the same dock that Matt did. He's followed by Courtney, Wyatt, Eric, Doug, and Sam.
Chris: "But the Killer Bass had other things on their mind…"
Another white flash transitions the scene and a montage of fights amongst the Bass are shown. Steven and Noah are the first to be seen, arguing about who will gain dominance over their team. The next bickering duo shown is Nathalie and Jonathon, who are arguing over absolute nonsense; and lastly, Vittoria, who has pulled Nourhan back by her hair.
Chris: "Unable to tolerate each other, the Bass self destructed, losing challenge…"
Steven can be seen reading "Noah's" diary, and losing the challenge for his team.
Chris: "...After challenge…"
The Screaming Gophers are announced triumphant over the Bass after Steven chopped off Kimi's fingers following a recently concluded food fight.
Chris: "After challenge."
Vittoria is seen falling in the mud after losing the most recent challenge, much to Nourhan's disappointment.
Chris: "Their only constant being Steven's absolute dominance over them."
Jonathon and Vittoria are shown giving their input on who should leave at the impending ceremony while Steven insists that they vote against Sarah.
Chris: "The only person to challenge him was Nourhan, whose fight for power has left her on the outs time..."
Nourhan is shown wiping her tears away after being manipulated into voting Noah.
Chris: "and time again!"
Nourhan is shown to be shocked after the most recent reveal of the votes.
Chris: "With Jonathon choosing to stay loyal to Steven, and Nathalie now gone.."
Chris narrates the scene in which the two friends embrace before being torn apart once and for all. The camera then focuses back in on Jonathon, who watches guilty as Nathalie makes her way down the Dock of Shame.
Chris: "Nourhan's only remaining hope lies in Krystal, a member of the opposing team!"
A flashback showing Nourhan and Krystal making a pact following Sarah's elimination is shown.
Chris: "Now that the teams are merged, will Krystal stay true to her word? Or will Steven continue to manipulate his way to the very end? Find out tonight on Total...Drama...Island… Insanity!"
The recap ends with a wide shot of the final ten, sitting before Chris.
The Cafeteria.
The moon is still high in the sky as the newly merged teams make their way into the cafeteria. All of the Gophers are filled with joy, many of which are trying to guess what kind of challenges will be in store for the individual portion of the game. The teams, although now merged, sit together as if they are in high school cliques. Nourhan rolls her eyes when she sees this, grabbing her tray of food and heading over to a table in the back of the room. Everyone immediately takes notice of this, the girl now sticking out like a sore thumb. Henry nods his head in her direction, pointing out her isolation to his team mates.
Henry: "You think there's something going on there?"
Krystal smiles mischievously and nods.
Krystal: "Seems that way..."
Confessional Booth: Krystal.
Krystal: "A couple of Ceremonies ago, Steven voted my sister off and I'm still out for blood."
Krystal smiles and shakes her head.
Krystal: "He's a mean, nasty human being and we're about to chop his head off."
The Cafeteria.
Steven notices the Screaming Gophers whispering amongst themselves out of the corner of his eye. He scowls at them and then scowls at Nourhan, before turning to his allies.
Steven: "Pick up your trays, we're moving."
Steven picks up his tray after giving this order. Both Jonathon and Vittoria look dumbfounded.
Jonathon: "But why?"
Steven: "Just do it!"
Steven snaps at him before leading the troops over to Nourhan's table. Once he reaches her, he outstretches his arm and pulls her closer. After doing so, he practically yells his words in an obvious effort to be heard by the Screaming Gophers.
Steven: "Man, am I glad it was Nathalie voted off last night and not you! Close call, but we've got your back!"
Nourhan glares at him in annoyance.
Nourhan: "What're you doing?'
Steven replies to the girl in a hushed tone.
Steven: "Covering for your dumb ass, because if they catch wind that we don't get along, the four of us will be picked off one by one."
Nourhan rolls her eyes before standing up and dumping her food in the trash. Steven desperately follows, running after her and putting his arm around her once again.
Steven: "What's wro-"
Nourhan grabs Steven's arm and throws it away from her.
Nourhan: "Don't touch me!"
Her fit of rage gets the attention of everyone in the room, who have now turned their attention to the altercation.
Confessional Booth: Nourhan.
Nourhan: "Steven is fake, he's manipulative, and he's a liar. I don't like him, I'm never going to like him."
The girl is clearly annoyed with his antics.
Nourhan: "Him and Jonathon and Vittoria have all screwed me over this entire game."
Nourhan clinches her fists together and shakes her head angrily.
Nourhan: "At this point, it doesn't matter who I align myself with because I'm at the bottom wherever I go. But if I work with the Gophers, at least someone I can tolerate will win."
The Cafeteria.
Steven looks absolutely flabbergasted at her reaction.
Steven: "Nourhan, where is this all coming from?"
Steven dramatically drops his jaw and places his hand on his chest.
Nourhan: "Don't even try!"
As the girl attempts to walk away, she is stopped by Vittoria, who grabs her wrist.
Vittoria: "Chiaramente sei ubriaco, mi hai bisogno di tenere i capelli?"
Nourhan rolls her eyes and rips her arm away from her.
Nourhan: "Oh, cut the crap!"
Vittoria's expression immediately changes, becoming concerned for what is about to come out of the girl's mouth. Nourhan smiles mischievously, Vittoria leaning in closer to whisper threats in her ear.
Vittoria: "If you know what's best for you, you will pipe shut and be the good little girl you've been all your life. You will follow in line with what Steven and I tell you, and not make a fuss, and maybe… Just maybe…we will drag you to the end!"
Nourhan's grin widens when she says this.
Confessional Booth: Nourhan.
Nourhan laughs, having finally reached her breaking point.
Nourhan: "All of their fates, they've already been decided in my mind. The three of them have all been so rude, and so horrible to me, that I'd rather lessen my chances at winning a hundred thousand dollars than get to the end and lose to one of them!"
Nourhan gives another snarky laugh before continuing on.
Nourhan: "What goes around comes around, and it's here; and it's coming from me!"
Total Drama Island: Insanity! Intro.
As the opening theme begins to play cameras begin to pop out of strange places, including an underground burrow and a tree. As the last camera comes out, a clapperboard is held in front of the camera and is slammed shut.
"Dear mom and dad, I'm doing fine…."
The camera goes past the dock of shame revealing the Camp Wawanakwa sign. As the scenery continues to be shown, the camera rushes past Chris then continues up the ever so familiar mountain before going over the cliff and through the ring, venturing into the treacherous waters!
"….You guys are on my mind!"
Hector is shown happily swimming in the water before being frightened after seeing a shark and rushing towards the surface.
"You asked me what I wanted to be, and now I think the answer is plain to see…."
As Hector emerges from the surface, Wyatt and a crying Sarah are seen floating past him on an old, gray plank. From behind his back, Wyatt pulls out Sarah's teddy bear and holds it towards her, much to her delight. However, just as he does so, a hawk sweeps down and snatches it, sending Sarah back into hysterics.
"I wanna be famous!"
The hawk flies above Steven, who is in the forest surrounded by pumpkins. As snakes begin to make their way out of the pumpkins, Steven screams like the little girl he is deep down and begins to run. As the camera zooms out, Nathalie is seen holding a snake and smiling as Jonathon puts his hands on his hips and raises his left brow at her before the sun's vibrant light overcomes this view.
"I wanna live close to the sun."
As the sunlight retracts and a new scene is revealed, Josh and Doug are seen bickering at each other on a raft before going over a waterfall.
"Well, pack your bags 'cuz I've already won."
Matt is seen standing on a long and narrow log, with one hand in the air and one hand on his heart, reciting what looks to be a play in a rather over dramatic light.
"Everything to prove, nothing in my way."
Kelly swings by on a vine, grabbing Matt by the collar of his shirt and taking him along for the ride. As they rush past parts of the camp, she drops Matt into the outhouse which falls over because of this. Courtney tumbles out of the outhouse and walks around slightly dazed before falling over, hitting the ground rather hard.
"I'll get there one day."
The camera pans through the cafeteria window, showing Chef making some kind of disgusting grub before going over to Sam and Eric who are looking at each other dreamily before a spoonful of Chef's food is shoved between them. Looks of disgust are shared between the two before Nourhan and Noah are seen laughing together at a nearby table.
"I wanna be famous!"
As the scene changes to the outdoors, both Kimi and Vittoria are seen admiring Alex who is in the water looking at himself in a small hand mirror.
"Na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na…"
As Alex smiles at himself in the mirror it shatters into a dozen pieces, much to his dismay.
"I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous!"
The camera pans over to the Dock of Shame where the hawk drops Sarah's teddy bear into Krystal's arm. Krystal grins maniacally at this before pulling a lighter out of her pocket and setting the small girl's bear on fire. As laughter continues to erupt from her mouth, she throws the doll up into the air.
"I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous!"
As the burning stuffed animal falls from the sky, the daylight shifts to night. The bear falls down in between Haley and Henry, who are about to kiss when Brooke, whose hair is now on fire, pops up between them. As the camera begins to zoom out, the twenty-two campers are revealed to be sitting at the Bonfire Ceremony. All of them are whistling with the exception of Brooke who is screaming, Krystal who is laughing, and Sarah who is crying hysterically.
The Cafeteria.
Nourhan stays just inches away from Vittoria's face as she plays out her first act of vengeance.
Nourhan: "She's lying to all of you about her English. She speaks it perfectly fine."
All of the Gophers' jaws drop, along with Steven's. Along with this notion, he lets out a loud gasp.
Steven: "Vittoria?! All this time?!"
Steven crosses his arms and shakes his head at an unamused Vittoria.
Steven: "I can't believe you've lied to us for so long!"
Nourhan rolls her eyes before turning her attention to the Gophers.
Nourhan: "Steven, Vittoria, and Jonathon have all been in the majority this entire time. Krystal, they voted off your sister. Hector, they voted off your friend."
Hector and Krystal look at the three with spite-filled eyes.
Nourhan: "And Steven…"
Nourhan turns her attention to the trio of villains.
Nourhan: "It was Vittoria who voted for Kimi, not Jonathon."
Steven once again drops his jaw and gasps loudly, this time being genuinely shocked.
Nourhan: "Good guess, though…"
Nourhan says this in a snarky tone as she exits the room. The camera is now focused on Vittoria who laughs awkwardly as everyone in the room glares at her angrily.
Vittoria: "Well… Good thing the slate is wiped clean… Fresh start for the merge!"
Confessional Booth: Vittoria.
Vittoria: "I hate that good for nothing goody two shoes!"
As Vittoria is talking, she is poking needles into a poorly constructed voodoo doll.
Vittoria: "I've been so careful, and so behind the scenes, and then she just goes and puts everything on blast!"
Vittoria begins angrily plunging the needles in faster and faster.
Vittoria: "WHY WON'T THIS THING WORK?!"
Confessional Booth: Steven.
The angst ridden teen is seen meditating on the toilet seat as he speaks.
Steven: "I'm trying this new thing, the monks call it meditation. I just sit here and envision what I want, and it will become a reality."
Steven begins humming.
Steven: "Right now, I'm envisioning pursuing a career in bus driving."
The hums continue to fill the booth.
Steven: "And now, I'm running over Vittoria with that said bus."
Outside the Cabins.
Steven is shown pulling Vittoria out of the cafeteria by her hair.
Vittoria: "Ow! Ow! Ow! Ow!"
An angry Steven stops dead in his tracks.
Steven: "Silence, pasta lover!"
Steven slaps her across the face with a fly swatter before releasing her.
Steven: "Now sit!"
Steven points at a nearby rock.
Vittoria: "On that disgusting thing?! It's covered in bu-!"
Steven: "I SAID SIT!"
Steven slaps the girl with the fly swatter. A reluctant Vittoria yelps before taking a seat. Jonathon pulls out a flashlight and shines it in the girl's face.
Steven: "Now we're going to play a little game."
Vittoria rolls her eyes.
Vittoria: "Yeah, okay, Jigsaw!"
Steven smugly points his nose up into the air.
Steven: "Jonathon."
Without another word, Jonathon takes his flashlight and thumps Vittoria on the back of the head.
Vittoria: "Ow!"
Steven: "As I was saying, before you so rudely interrupted me, we are going to play a little game! Any objections?"
Spiders begin to crawl up the fearful girl's body, but she does not say anything. She simply sits in silence, doing her best to whimper quietly.
Steven: "Good, you learn quickly! That will make this easier!"
Steven rubs his hands together eagerly, ready to inflict more pain.
Steven: "World according to Steven, round one: did you or did you not vote off Kimi?"
Vittoria rolls her eyes, flicks the spiders off of her and rips the fly swatter out of his hand.
Vittoria: "World according to Vittoria, round one: did you or did you not throw me under the bus in front of everyone in the cafeteria?!"
Steven sticks his nose up in the air again.
Steven: "I can honestly say, I have no recollection o-"
Vittoria: "LIES!"
Vittoria brings the fly swatter down harshly, onto Steven's nose.
Steven: "OW!"
Steven's jaw drops, so much so that his cheeks ache.
Steven: "You ungrateful brat! I carried you to this point!"
Steven rips the swatter away from her and returns the gesture.
Vittoria: "Me?! Carried by you?! I'm the one who's done all the work! All you do is bark orders like a moron and make everyone hate us!"
Steven gasps and rips the fly swatter out of her hands and swats her with it. The two do this back and forth and exchange squeals of pain before Jonathon finally breaks it up.
Jonathon: "ENOUGH!"
Jonathon grabs the fly swatter and smacks both Vittoria and Steven upside the head with it.
Jonathon: "We can't fight amongst ourselves! It's exactly like you said, Steven; if we don't stick together, then we are going to be picked off one by one! They already have a numbers advantage! We need Nourhan, and we need each other! Now who's with me?!"
An awkward silence ensues as Steven and Vittoria both cross their arms and look off in separate directions.
Confessional Booth: Jonathon.
Jonathon: "Tonight's vote was extremely difficult for me. Up until a few hours ago, I looked at this entire game like a book, analysing it in order to predict the final outcome. But, I've never faced a decision in my life that has required me to sever one bond in order to maintain another. It showed me that there's a lot more to life than going by the book, and there are some things out there that you can't obtain through studious endeavors."
The boy gets a bit teary eyed and takes a long, meaningful pause before continuing.
Jonathon: "It makes me think of all the things I've missed out on in my everyday life. There were a lot of things I could've had if I took more chances, and a lot of people I could've met if I trusted more in myself and less in the things I've read. I cared about Nathalie, and hurting her was genuinely difficult and signified a turning point in the game for me."
The Cabins: The Girls Side.
The girls are all moving their things into the Killer Bass cabin, where they have been instructed to sleep. Everyone's bags are resting on a bunk , with the exception of Vittoria's. As soon as she enters the room, everyone glares at her angrily. Vittoria stops for a second, rolls her eyes, and then proceeds to put it on the bunk above Nourhan.
Nourhan: "Absolutely not, I am not sleeping under you!"
Nourhan grabs her bag and throws it down in front of her feet. Vittoria rolls her eyes again, this time so far back that it looks as though she is being possessed.
Vittoria: "Okay, then where the hell am I supposed to sleep?!"
Nourhan shrugs.
Nourhan: "I'm sure you'll get plenty of sleep on your way to the jury house."
Krystal and Haley let out small snickers at this comment. Vittoria raises her eyebrows, impressed with her fight. She begins to clap fairly loudly.
Vittoria: "Look at fiesty little Nourhan! Throw her on an island and she goes from bottom feeder to leader of the pack!"
Nourhan crosses her arms angrily and glares at Vittoria as she walks around the room.
Vittoria: "But if you're looking to pick a fight with the runt of the litter, you're barkin' up the wrong tree!"
Vittoria stops and looks at the girls, a maniacal grin spreading across her face.
Confessional Booth: Vittoria.
Vittoria: "Steven, he thinks he's making a clear sprint to the finish but he's really not."
Vittoria laughs in a cocky manner.
Vittoria: "He can keep Jonathon on a short leash, but he can't tell me what to do because I'm smarter than he is. Every move I've made, I've done it slyly, well aware that when it came time to throw those two under the bus I could do it with ease. If I'm leaving this island, I'm not doing it without dragging those two doofuses down with me."
The Cabins: The Girl's Side.
Vittoria begins to make her pitch to the three girls, desperate to improve the perception they have of her. As she speaks there is a hint of feist in her tone.
Vittoria: "I wasn't the one who got rid of Noah…"
Vittoria begins counting on her fingers as she lists the various people betrayed by Steven.
Vittoria: "It wasn't my idea to vote out your sister…"
She directs this in Krystal's direction.
Vittoria: "And I'm on bottom of that alliance…"
Vittoria points to the door after saying this, gesturing to the two boys outside.
Vittoria: "It makes way more sense to split up those two than it does to take me out for pretending to be incapable of comprehending the English language."
Nourhan rolls her eyes and stands up, closing the space between her and Vittoria.
Nourhan: "So what you're saying is you didn't vote Noah out?"
Vittoria rolls her eyes at the girl's defiant stance.
Vittoria: "It wasn't my id-"
Before she can finish, Nourhan interrupts her and begins throwing her finger in her face.
Nourhan: "Did you or did you not vote him out?"
Vittoria begins to talk over Nourhan who continues to repeat this statement.
Vittoria: "It wasn't my id-!"
Vittoria is once again interrupted by Nourhan's rants, this time taking her hands and pushing the girl away by her shoulders.
Vittoria: "Get out of my face!"
Nourhan flattens her palms and begins to bob her head back and forth.
Nourhan: "Don't touch me!"
Vittoria: "Then get your finger out of my face!"
Nourhan says nothing at first, and then grins menacingly in reply.
Nourhan: "You can't tell me what to do anymore.."
As she says this, the girl rests her finger on the side of Vittoria's face.
Vittoria: "I said, don't touch me!"
In one swift movement, Vittoria grabs the girl's arm , and harshly pulls her away from the others. Nourhan lets out a brief sound, similar to a yelp. Krystal immediately jumps up and places herself in between the two.
Krystal: "Steven screwed us all, let's leave it at that! Now knock it off, both of you!"
Vittoria crosses her arms and smiles snidely, angering Nourhan further. Nourhan rolls her eyes in response, and shoves her way past Krystal's body.
Nourhan: "Whatever.."
The girl leaves the cabin in a fit of rage, much to Vittoria's amusement, the foreigner now laughing at the chaos she has caused. Krystal rolls her eyes and sits back on the bed, beside Haley. The lovestruck girl turns towards her, eyes widened, and mouths the words: "oh my god"
Confessional Booth: Haley.
Haley: "The Killer Bass tribe is an absolute mess."
Haley says this with wide eyes and an even wider smile.
Haley: "Nourhan and Vittoria, they haven't been with us for but five minutes and they are full on going at it."
The girl lets out a laugh at the very thought of this.
Haley: "But there are no sides being taken when it comes to this argument because everything that they're saying is falling on deaf ears. The one and only alliance I have in this game is with Henry. He's my rock, and we're not going anywhere."
The Dock.
The moon is high in the sky, its light emitting onto the ocean below. Nothing can be heard but the sound of waves breaking against the wooden pillars planted beneath the sand. There is a slight breeze in the air, but the night is warm regardless. When Haley reaches this soothing setting, Henry is already there waiting for her. She runs across the dock where the couple embrace.
Haley: "I can't believe we did it, we made it to the merge!"
The two pull their faces away from each other, just inches apart.
Henry: "I know, but we have to be careful."
Haley becomes immediately confused by his warning, and tilts her head to the side.
Henry: "If the others know that we're romantically involved, they'll split us up."
Haley shows him her bright smile, shaking her head in disbelief.
Haley: "They already know that we're close, you're overthinking it."
Henry's expression does not soften and remains rather stern.
Henry: "Haley, it's different. What we have isn't what Alex, Krystal, and Josh have. You and I are linked in a different way. You need to promise me that you won't tell anyone anything."
Haley's smile remains unchanged as she shakes her head once again.
Haley: "Henry, it's fine, I trust these people."
Henry lets out a deep sigh in response.
Henry: "Well, you shouldn't. These people aren't our friends, they're our allies. The only reason they kept us in is because they needed the numbers going into the merge."
Haley, still unphased by his words, begins to speak. Before she can object once again, Henry interrupts her.
Henry: "No, Haley, you need to listen to me. We can't trust these people! They're smart, and they're well liked. It's not the Bass we have to worry about…"
Confessional Booth: Henry.
Henry: "Right now, Steven, Vittoria, Jonathon, and Nourhan are at the bottom. No matter what picture you paint, what pecking order you create, it's always going to be those four going home first. They have no shot."
Henry is sitting with his legs propped up against the wall.
Henry: "The real game being played this season is not whatever drama they have going on because they've let personal vendettas consume their strategy."
Henry smiles and shakes his head.
Henry: "The game being played is the civil war that's forming on our own front lawn… And when it comes down to the six of us, there can be no question in anyone's mind that Josh, Alex, and Krystal have the strongest bond. It's imperative that Hector and the others trust Haley and I as individuals, instead of viewing us as a pair."
The Dock.
When the scene transitions back, Henry is still clinging tightly to his girlfriend's arms.
Henry: "Haley, you need to promise me that you won't say anything to anyone. We have to be discreet… I don't want them to tear us apart."
With this touching statement, soft music begins to play in the background. Haley reaches her hand out towards him, and rests it on the side of his face.
Haley: "They're not going to tear us apart, no one could ever tear us apart."
Henry gives a bleak smile before taking her hand in his own.
Henry: "Promise me."
Haley returns this smile.
Haley: "I promise."
This touching scene ends with a wide shot of their lips interlocking below the moonlight.
The Boys Cabin.
When the screen fades back into view, the sun is already shining over Camp Wawanakwa. All of the boys are already up and about. Brief shots of each male contender is shown to inform the viewer what they are up to. Jonathan is seen reading a book in the cafeteria, Henry is shown going for a jog around the lake, Hector is sitting on the sand, and Alex can be seen walking into the boys cabin wearing nothing but a white towel. As soon as he walks into the room, Steven throws himself off of his mattress and wraps his arm around the boy.
Steven: "Hey there, buddy! How's it goin'?!"
Alex's eyes begin to dart around the cabin as awkwardness continues to ensue.
Alex: "Uhm… So I'm mostly naked right now… And your arm is touching me."
Steven lets out an extremely obnoxious fake laugh, adding in a snort at the end of it.
Steven: "Such a jokester, as per usual!"
Confessional Booth: Steven.
Steven's arms and legs are crossed, his body language suggesting that he has better things to do with his time than sit in a foul smelling outhouse.
Steven: "Don't think that I've forgotten our little… altercation... Nevertheless, after Nourhan's mental breakdown, I'm forced to seek allegiance from the likes of...Well… Let's just say less than pleasant company."
Steven's lip curls and his eyes roll.
Steven: "It's as the saying goes: Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer. And if my allies are too stupid to see the importance in this, then I guess I'll just have to take care of it the same way that I've taken care of everything else… By myself!"
Steven ends his confessional with a strong sense of spite filling his words.
The Boys Cabin.
As their conversation continues, Josh can be seen listening from one of the bunks above.
Alex: "What do you want, Steven?"
Steven lets out a loud sigh after he asks this. He removes his arm from the boy's shoulders, and sits down on one of the beds.
Steven: "I'm sorry… I'll cut the crap… It's just been really bothering me the way we started out this game."
With these words, Steven gains the attention of the boy in the towel.
Alex: "Go on…"
Steven lets out another over exasperated sigh.
Steven: "It's just because when I was younger.."
When Steven says this, his voice cracks.
Steven: "With the constant bullying because of my sexuality…"
Alex uncrosses his arms and looks at the boy curiously. His stance is no longer offputting and much more gentle.
Steven: "It's made it really hard to be myself, and at times I feel the need to put up this abrasive wall… But I don't want that wall to be what separates us and causes animosity between us."
Alex gives Steven a sympathetic look before taking a seat beside him.
Alex: "Don't worry about it, Steve, it's all good."
Alex pats a sniffling Steven on the shoulder.
Confessional Booth: Steven.
Steven is in hysterics, the only tears on his face being the ones caused by his laughter.
Steven: "Hi, I'm Steven. My life is so hard, everybody hates me. Please buy into the self pity I'm selling you!"
Steven says this in a whiny tone and then lets out another horrendous laugh.
Steven: "What a moron! As if I'd ever confide in someone like him! Screw his friendship, the only thing I care about is the prize money that's waiting for me at the end, and I'll use whatever sob story I need to in order to get there!"
The Boys Cabin.
After his narcissistic actions are revealed to the audience, Steven continues his emmy winning performance.
Steven: "So you forgive me for everything that happened?"
Alex lets out a small chuckle, letting their previous conflict slide right off his bare shoulders.
Alex: "Of course I do! It's no big deal, really."
Steven outstretches his hand across the mattress.
Steven: "Friends?"
Alex gives a genuine smile before shaking the boy's hand and nodding.
Alex: "Friends!"
After this reconciliation, the camera immediately pans over to Josh, the only one to have heard this entire conversation.
Confessional Booth: Josh.
Josh: "Steven's story was very sad… Also very convenient."
Josh laughs and shakes his head.
Josh: "I don't know if he fooled Alex, but he didn't fool me. This is the same guy that voted out Krystal's sister. He's a liar, and a good one. But at the end of the day, my opinion of him means nothing because if he does have Alex convinced, it could ruin everything. So it's crucial that I keep an eye on the two of them and make sure that Steven's not brewing up any trouble."
The Beach.
After Josh's confessional fuzzes out, Hector can be seen sitting on the sand, his body just inches away from the water. As the waves submerge the bottom halves of his legs, a baby crab began to crawl up his arm. Fascinated with the creature, the strange boy examines his arm in a perplexed state of mine. The creature at first glance seemed very fragile, and childlike… almost kind of cute, but Hector knew it had the ability to inflict pain none-the-less. This thought makes him reminiscence on all the people he's met in his life. He thinks of the memories he shared with them, and how innocent they once felt but how corrupted they soon became. Like the red-shelled creature, most of these people seemed kind, most of the memories they shared felt genuine, but at the end of the day, every single one of them hurt him anyways. Not long after this thought crosses his mind, the infant creature of the deep pinches him and burrows its way back under the sand.
Confessional Booth: Hector.
Hector: "I've always felt very out of place in life, and the people I've surrounded myself with have always made me feel very strange. But ever since coming here, I've met people who I feel have accepted me for my quirky characteristics."
Hector frequently pauses inbetween sentences, making it apparent that the subject matter is difficult for him to discuss.
Hector: "Josh keeping me here over Sam, it meant a lot to me. I feel like I've been given a second chance at more than this game, but also my life. After years of being abandoned by everyone I love, I feel like I've finally been given the chance to receive the love that I've given. Being out here has become more than a competition to me, but a reflection of my life. The only difference is that this time, I'm determined not to mess it up by skewing the perception I have on myself. Nobody's opinion of me matters anymore because the people I've met here have shown me that I'm capable of greatness… I can do this… I know I can."
The Beach.
Hector rubs the wound left by his newfound friend, then looks up towards the sky. A new determination can be seen in the boy's eyes: a determination to write his own story based on what he wants, not what everyone else expects.
The Cafeteria.
The ten remaining campers begin to slowly make their way into the cafeteria. Upon entering the room, the teens notice that the tables have been pushed together to create one giant banquet. On the left side of the table, Alex, Josh, Krystal, Nourhan, and Hector take a seat. Across from them Steven, Jonathon, Vittoria, Haley, and Henry are seated. Chris and Chef are both standing at the head of the table, awaiting for the ten to settle in before making their big announcement.
Chris: "Good morning campers! Good to see you are all getting along!"
After Chris says this, all of the Bass are shown to be glaring at each other angrily.
Chris: "All friendly gestures aside, let's cut to the chase! Today's challenge is not for immunity but for reward… And it's a big one!"
Haley turns her head to Henry who looks just as baffled as she is. Various whispers begin to ensue between the campers, all of which are attempting to predict what the reward will be.
Krystal: "I bet you Chris is giving out his VIP concert tickets to see Taylor!"
Alex nods eagerly.
Alex: "That's definitely it, the dude's looked rough ever since their big break up."
Krystal nods back in agreement.
Krystal: "I heard that "We Are Never Getting Back Together" is based off of their relationship."
Alex gasps loudly and clasps his hand to his mouth.
Alex: "How scandalous!"
Chris overhears the two's conversation and begins to yell at them.
Chris: "THAT SONG WAS NOT ABOUT ME, AND WHAT TAYLOR AND I HAD WAS SPECIAL AND COULD NEVER BE SUMMED UP IN A THREE MINUTE SONG THAT REPEATS THE SAME SENTENCE IN DIFFERENT HARMONIES!"
Krystal raises her eyebrows and leans over to whisper in Alex's ear.
Krystal: "Now I'm starting to think that he inspired T-Swizzle's hit single "Mean"."
Alex nods.
Alex: "That definitely makes more sense."
Chris takes a deep breath in an attempt to gather himself before continuing on.
Chris: "Tonight, there will be no campfire ceremony! Instead, the winners of today's challenge will gain an advantage in the game that will give them more power than any contestant has ever received before them!"
This draws Steven's attention, whose body is now turned in Chris's direction.
Chris: "Two of you will receive the power to bring back one player that was previously eliminated!"
Everyone's jaws drop at this startling revelation. Alex crosses his arms angrily and slouches down in his seat.
Alex: "Man! I wanted to see Taylor…"
Krystal turns to Josh and eagerly tugs at his arm in an effort to get his attention.
Krystal: "Josh! Do you know what this means?! We could bring back Sarah or Sam!"
Confessional Booth: Krystal.
Krystal: "Chris announcing the twist, it couldn't have come at a better time!"
Krystal has a wide grin on her face that is spread from ear to ear.
Krystal: "This advantage is huge! Just the thought of having my sister come back into the game, and me having the chance to actually protect her this time around… It's a game changer."
The Cafeteria.
A close up of Steven's face is shown. There is a calm but menacing look on his face, indicating that his grand plan is already in formation.
Confessional Booth: Steven.
Steven: "With Vittoria's wavering loyalty, and Nourhan's obscene and unjustified outbursts…"
As Steven speaks, he begins counting his numbers on his fingers. He starts with four fingers raised, and lowers one for Nourhan, and one for Vittoria.
Steven: "That leaves Jonathon and I… And most of the previously eliminated Bass hate our guts, so we can't count on them…"
Steven lets out a loud and obnoxious sigh before continuing.
Steven: "I planted some seeds with Alex this morning, and I'm certainly going to nurture that as the game moves forward, but in order to properly infiltrate alliances established before the merge, it's essential that I win today's challenge!"
The Cafeteria.
At the ends of the table, Nourhan can be seen smiling enthusiastically at Chris's revelation.
Confessional Booth: Nourhan.
Nourhan's enthusiastic smile transitions over to her confessional.
Nourhan: "Since the beginning of this game, I've been at the bottom but things are finally starting to come around! Nobody trusts Steven and Vittoria, I'm in with the Gophers, and now I have the chance to bring someone back that those two screwed over."
Nourhan says this last bit with a bit "bite back" in her voice.
Nourhan: "I'm going to give everything that I have to win this for the people that they stabbed in the back!"
The Cafeteria.
When the focus is shifted back to the cafeteria, Chef Hatchet enters the kitchen. When he re-emerges, he is carrying a large, silver-covered platter. He places it in front of Chris at the head of the table.
Chris: "To become victorious and bring back the contestant of your choosing…"
Chris places his hand on the platter's lid. The contestants are leaning forward, hanging onto his every word.
Chris: "All you have to do is eat this!"
Chris lifts up the lid to reveal live worms that are covered in slime and hairballs. All of the contestants jump back, gasping in horror, with the exception of Hector who raises his arms to the sky and screams triumphantly.
Confessional Booth: Hector.
Hector is squatted over the toilet seat, screaming at the top of his lungs. His arms are pointed straight up in the air, and he is twirling his tongue in a circular motion.
Hector: "I LOVE WORMS! My dad and I used to go on fishing trips when I was little, but we never caught anything because I was always the one to eat the bait! My dad would always cast his line…"
Hector mimics the motions required to cast a fishing line.
Hector: "Then he'd be all, "It's a big one!"
Hector mocks his father's voice in a deep tone.
Hector: "Then he'd reel up the line and be all, "Oh no, it's just my idiot good for nothing son."
Hector lets out a tremendous laugh, unaware of the offputting nature of the story he just told.
The Cafeteria.
Many of the contestants exchange looks of disgust, including Haley who buries her face into Henry's shoulder.
Chris: "Each round, I will bring out a new dish. To proceed to the next round, you must finish the food placed in front of you."
As Chris gives directions for today's challenge, Chef begins to pass out plates full of the disgusting meal.
Chris: "If you are unable to finish the plate in front of you, you're eliminated. However, if everyone that round finishes their dish, the last person to do so will be the one eliminated!"
Vittoria takes her fork and pokes one of the hairballs in front of her.
Chris: "The final two contestants standing will then be given the power to bring back the contestant of their choosing!"
Krystal is unphased by the food in front of her, or by the thought of what is to come. The entire time Chris is giving instructions, her eyes remain glazed over. All that's going through her mind is the potential she has been given to right the wrong that was committed against her sister. As soon as Chris finishes, she immediately turns to face Alex and Josh.
Krystal: "We have to win this one! Please, I need to bring Sarah back!"
Alex nods in agreement and smiles warmly back at her.
Alex: "I'll give it everything I've got!"
Krystal turns her attention back to Josh, who seems hesitant to answer.
Confessional Booth: Josh.
Josh: "Krystal and I just got over our conflict with Sam, but now this challenge brings up a whole new conflict of interest because right now bringing Sarah back doesn't benefit anyone but Krystal. We've unified our entire team by creating a common enemy in the Bass, and bringing Sarah back will only jeopardize their loyalty to us."
Josh places his hands on his knees, and lets out a loud sigh.
Josh: "As things stand now, it's in my best interest to throw today's challenge because I'm still trying to find that perfect balance between the relationships I've formed and the actual game. The last thing I want is to hurt her feelings by picking somebody else."
The Cafeteria.
Josh gives the girl a very toothy smile and nods.
Josh: "Absolutely! One-hundred percent! For sure! Without a doubt! I swear!"
The camera pans out to reveal both Alex and Krystal looking at Josh strangely.
Krystal: "Okay….?"
Chef puts the final plate in front of Alex, and then makes his way back to Chris's side.
Chris: "Okay, contestants, get ready because your challenge begins… NOW!"
Not soon after Chris finishes his sentence does Hector have his plate licked clean. He then eagerly grabs his plate, and runs over to Chef's side.
Hector: "More, please!"
Chris and Chef, along with the others, give Hector looks of disgust. Chef shrugs his shoulder and nudges the remains toward him.
Chef Hatchet: "Knock yourself out, ki-"
Before he can finish, Hector has already dived face first into the grub. Unlike himself, however, the others have a much harder time getting their food down.
Haley: "This is absolutely disgusting… It smells like fish guts!"
Haley's whining begins right after Henry finishes eating the food in front of her. Her brave and unyielding boyfriend turns to face her.
Henry: "You can do it, bab- HALEY! YOU CAN DO IT, HALEY!"
Henry gives a nervous laugh, beads of sweat forming on his forehead. No one around him even notices any of this as they are all too consumed with forcing their food down. Krystal and Nourhan both finish their food, the latter of which raising her arms up in the air victoriously. Krystal turns to Alex who is attempting to force his food down but is hardly successful.
Alex: "I think I'm gonna puke!"
The boy's friend touches his shoulder reassuringly.
Krystal: "You led us to victory in dodgeball, a sport you feared! If you could do that, I know you can do this!"
The boy looks at her from the corner of his eyes, and that is all he needs. Alex takes one large gulp and successfully stomachs the food before wrapping his arms around her.
Alex: "Thanks, K."
This touching scene is immediately interrupted by Steven (who has already finished his meal), yelling from across the table.
Steven: "YOU NEED TO FINISH YOUR FOOD! WE NEED ALL THE RETURNEES WE CAN GET!"
Vittoria pinches her nose in disgust.
Vittoria: "It smells like my dying grandma!"
The camera quickly pans back over to Henry, who is still talking gently to his girlfriend. The camera pans back over to Steven who has now pulled Vittoria back by her hair, and is force feeding her the food.
Steven: "EAT IT!"
The camera pans back over to Haley and Henry once again. Henry is now pretending that the food is an airplane, flying bite by bite to his girlfriend's slightly parched lips.
Confessional Booth: Haley.
Haley is smiling cheerfully, hugging her own body tightly.
Haley: "Mom was always an awful cook growing up so when I was younger, my sister and I made up a game to get the food down! We'd always make up some sort of scenario while eating the food, and our imaginations would always overpower the taste!"
Haley places her chin on her palm, and sighs dreamily.
Haley: "I completely forgot that I told Henry that and yet he remembered anyways! Isn't he just the sweetest thing?"
The Cafeteria.
Henry: "Vroooooooo- OH SHIT! WE'RE GOING DOWN! I REPEAT CAPTAIN, WE'RE GOING DOWN!"
With this, Henry grabs the entire plate and shoves it in Haley's face. While all of this is going on, Steve is continuing to force feed Vittoria. Unbeknownst to the two, Jonathon is slyly transferring his food from his plate to Vittoria's. This process continues until the girl has eaten two portions worth. Steven raises his arms towards the ceiling and begins screaming victoriously.
Steven: "DONE, CHRIS, WE'RE DONE!"
Chris gives a chuckle before announcing the end of round one.
Chris: "And with that, Josh, you're eliminated!"
The camera pans over to reveal that Josh is moving a fork very, very slowly towards his mouth. After Chris's announcement, he slams the fork down "angrily".
Josh: "Dammit! I was too slow!"
Josh crosses his arms, and slouches over in his chair. The sadistical host laughs at the boy's "misery" before clapping his hands together.
Chris: "Oh, Chef Haaaaatchet!"
A white and orange striped background appears in a cartoonish fashion. Large red letters flying towards the viewer read, "Round 2".
Haley: "Bull testicles?!"
Haley lets out a horrendous shriek when the next item is revealed. Henry shakes his head at her in response, standing up and walking over to the back of her seat.
Henry: "QUIET, SARGENT!"
The boy takes the girl's arms and puts them behind her back.
Henry: "NOW EAT!"
Henry takes the back of Haley's head, and shoves it into the testes. Steven crosses his legs and arms as he so often does when he is pleased with himself.
Steven: "You're not a sargent and those are bull balls that you're eating."
Steven smiles smugly after shattering the illusion. This smug satisfaction is short lived, however, because Haley immediately raises her head and projectile vomits across the table. Vittoria begins snorting, trying to conceal her laughter at the now vomit-covered Steven. Chris, however, makes no effort to conceal his amusement. He instead lets out a loud and obnoxious chuckle.
Chris: "Oh, man! And they say karma doesn't exist!"
Chris slaps his knees and laughs even louder at his own joke. Steven grabs Vittoria's hair once again and begins using it to wipe the vomit off of him.
Chris: "It's going to be a long day, folks!"
Vittoria's shrieks can be heard in the background as a challenge montage commences. Throughout the various rounds, multiple food items are placed in front of the teens. Alex is the third to join Josh and Haley after being unsuccessful in eating a live grasshopper, anchovy and jellyfish pizza. The next to follow is Henry who passes out after smelling the dirty sandal placed in front of him. All the while, throughout the montage, there are several continuities shown. The first of which is that Hector not only successfully eats all of his food, but enjoys doing so. The second of which is the vast amount of determination and effort put into the challenge by both Krystal and Nourhan. Both girls being squeamish, but relentless in eating the meals placed in front of them. Nourhan can be seen gagging when attempting to eat the pizza and Krystal plugging her nose and grimacing while eating the sandal, but both force their food down regardless. The last consistency seen throughout the montage is Steven force feeding his ally-turned rival, Vittoria. Round five has now begun, and Steven is attempting to shove a spoonful of hangnail soup into her mouth.
Steven: "Hold her mouth open wider, I can't get the spoonful in!"
Jonathon attempts to pry the girl's mouth open further as she continues to scream. Finally having enough, Vittoria throws the boy off of her and stands up angrily.
Vittoria: "That's it! I've had enough! I am not eating Chris's old, dead, dirty feet skin!"
Everyone gasps loudly when Vittoria stands up to her arch nemesis .
Steven: "Excuse me?!"
Steven grits his teeth angrily at the girl's response.
Vittoria: "YOU HEARD ME! I'M NOT EATING IT!"
Steven steps closer to the girl, now just inches away from her face.
Steven: "YES, YOU ARE!"
Chris laughs at the drama about to ensue.
Chris: "I hate to break this up, because I do love a good cat fight, but everyone's already finished their food, Steven!"
Steven: "What?!"
Vittoria smiles smugly, flipping her hair over her shoulder and walking past Steven. The boy snarls at the girl when she walks past.
Confessional Booth: Steven.
Steven is visibly enraged, the veins in his eyes being incredibly prominent.
Steven: "The lack of motivation in the members of my team is unbelievable! I'm the one who brought them here! You think anyone would've kept Vittoria if I didn't have something to say about it?! Nobody even knew that she spoke English! And don't even get me started on Nourhan!"
The Cafeteria.
Chris places the next platter in the center of the table.
Chris: "Bon Apetit!"
Chris unveils the next item to be large, round, chewed up balls of gum.
Nourhan: "Who chewed those…?"
No sooner than Nourhan asks, does Chef reach into his mouth and pull out the final ball of gum.
Nourhan: "I think I'm gonna be sick…."
Contrary to Nourhan's reaction, Hector screams enthusiastically and swallows the ball of gum whole. He than burps and becomes immediately surrounded by a large pink bubble. He uses this bubble to roll around in the cafeteria like a hamster.
Steven: "Okay Jonathon, listen up!"
Steven draws Jonathon's attention away from Hector and back to the challenge. He then jumps up on the table, and sits criss cross applesauce.
Steven: "I learned this thing in my anger management classes, they call it meditation! It will help get the food down!"
Nourhan sees the extreme amount of effort her ex-teammates are putting into the challenge, and desperately grabs a gum ball and begins gnawing at it.
Steven: "Jonathon, hurry up and get with the program!"
After saying this, Steven shuts his eyes and begins humming. Jonathon looks over to see that Krystal has popped the entire ball of gum into her mouth and is chewing away. The boy lets out a loud sigh before grabbing a piece of gum.
Confessional Booth: Jonathon.
Jonathon: "I'm in a really crappy position right now. Winning the challenge today, it'd probably result in bringing Nathalie back. On one hand that's a nightmare because she undoubtedly hates me. But on the other..."
Jonathon looks down and lets out a loud sigh.
Jonathon: "I've never had anyone in my life before that I could actually hurt… And I know that my vote went beyond the game for her. Now I have the chance to undo that, and the battle between my mind and my heart comes racing back to me."
The Cafeteria.
Jonathon, more determined than ever, gets on top of the table and begins meditating alongside Steven. The two finish their piles of gum fairly quickly, leaving Krystal and Nourhan to duke it out. Nourhan is eating substantially faster than Krystal. When she sees this, Krystal begins to make her plea.
Krystal: "Nourhan, please! I need this for Sarah! I can't let her down!"
The girl says this teary-eyed, chewed gum stuck between her top and bottom row of teeth.
Nourhan: "I need this too! For Noah and Nathali-"
Krystal: "It's not the same!"
This time, Krystal's words are much more heartfelt.
Krystal: "She's counting on me, she's always counted on me… And I already let her down once, I can't let her down again!"
As Nourhan chews her gum, she somberly thinks of all the people she had lost throughout the game. She first thinks of the day she met Noah, and the first kiss they shared by the ocean. Her mind is then flooded by the night she sent him home, and the trust that was broken by her rivals. All the things she could say to him right now… All the ways she could make up for that mistake… Then there was Nathalie, the only person there for her when no one else was. She reminisces on the evening she sat on the porch, scared and alone, and there she was… The first friend she ever had… No, the only friend she ever had, lost by circumstance. This was her chance to bring them back, her chance to right the wrong done to them by the people that tried to blind her from the truth. The same people who made her feel like nothing all this time. She could prove them all wrong in the blink of an eye. This was it, this was her moment. This was her chance. But if this was all true, and if that's all there was to it, then why did every bite she took leave such a bitter taste in her mouth?
Confessional Booth: Nourhan.
Nourhan is sitting in the confessional booth, hugging her knees with tears in her eyes.
Nourhan: "I don't feel like I'm just playing a game anymore, and I think it's been that way for a long time."
Nourhan sniffles and wipes her tears away with her arm.
Nourhan: "Steven and Vittoria remind me so much of the people who tormented me when I first moved here."
After saying this, Nourhan sobs loudly.
Nourhan: "The only difference this time is that I had friends to back me up when things got rough, but now I don't have anyone. And I'm just so desperate to prove them all wrong. Not just Steven and Vittoria, but everyone."
Nourhan takes a long pauses and a deep breath in an effort to regather her emotions.
Nourhan: "I know that the only true way to show them all what I'm made of is to win this game! That's all I want, more than anything."
Nourhan flattens her palm, as if ready to chop something, and brings it down onto her other palm.
Nourhan: "If I'm going to make it to the end, I have to play smart and Krystal is the only connection I have on the other side. I need to nurture that bond if I stand any shot at integrating with the Gophers."
The Cafeteria.
Nourhan reaches into her mouth, grabs the gum she's been chewing, and places it under the table. Just as she does so, Krystal swallows hers and progresses to the next round. Immediately following this notion, Nourhan places her hands on her head and begins to cry. All of the eliminated Gophers begin clapping for the distraught girl, congratulating her on her strenuous effort. Krystal walks over to the girl and wraps her arms around her.
Krystal: "Thank you, it means alot."
Nourhan nods through her tears and begins to sniffle once more.
Confessional Booth: Nourhan.
The girl, although still tear ridden, is actually smiling.
Nourhan: "I think the most valuable thing that this game has shown me is that I can't keep dwelling on the things that I can't change. I was relentlessly bullied my entire childhood, and I can't be upset and bitter about that for the rest of my life. There's no point in being in this constant state of depression over things that I don't have power over; but what I can do is fight to make things right for the future."
The more Nourhan speaks, the more the tears fade from her eyes.
Nourhan: "Just because nobody liked me before doesn't mean that it's going to be that way for the rest of my life. Likewise, being on the bottom for the first half of the game doesn't mean I can't claw my way to the top during the second half. Yeah, it sucks that all of my friends are gone but..."
The perplexed girl looks up towards the ceiling of the outhouse.
Nourhan: "I'm finally starting to realize that it's okay to let go of the life I lived before. I don't always have to go through life looking for a shoulder to lean on. I wasn't enough for myself then, but I'm going to be enough for myself now."
The Cafeteria.
Chef is the one to bring out the covered platter this time, placing his hand on the cover.
Chris: "This round's dish is…"
Chef lifts the lid to reveal four blended milkshakes with a foul stench emitting from them.
Chris: "Milkshakes, made purely of a skunk's liquefied odor glands!"
Everyone, including the eliminated contenders, grimace at the thought of this. Steven immediately picks up on the fact that Hector is hesitant for the first time that day, and pulls Jonathan aside to discuss this.
Steven: "I think we can beat Krystal in the final round, but we'll never be able to beat Hector! We need to take him out now while we have the chance!"
Jonathon nods.
Jonathon: "Agreed!"
Chris: "And let the semi-finals commence!"
As soon as Chris announces this, Jonathon and Steven begin to meditate and down their shakes. Krystal and Hector are immediately apparent to have much more trouble doing so. Krystal pinches her nose and begins to drink very slowly, but has to take frequent pauses due to the stench. Steven is the first to finish this round, and immediately enacts his plan to oust Hector.
Steven: "You've been doing pretty good today, buddy…."
Just as Steven starts in, Jonathon finishes his shake.
Steven: "About time that you exceed at something though, considering what a let down you've been to your team otherwise…"
When the Gophers hear this, they all gasp. Hector immediately chokes on his shake, startled by this accusation.
Hector: "Wha...What?"
Steven laughs.
Steven: "You didn't actually think these people were your friends, did you?"
Steven steps close to Hector in an effort to intimidate him. This tactic is very effective, and Hector begins to whimper like a dog.
Steven: "Oh, quiet, mutt! See? This is what I'm talking about! Why would anyone want to be friends with someone who reacts like an animal every time they talk?"
Henry stands up and yells from across the room.
Henry: "Hey!"
Steven talks over Henry. The situation has opened the door for Krystal, who is nearing the end of her shake.
Steven: "I'm sure that your parents were glad to get rid of you for the summer, and have a break from…Well, I'll just come right out and say it… A break from having to look at the biggest disappointment your family has ever seen."
Steven laughs at the thought of Hector and his family.
Steven: "I mean, god… How many counselors have they taken you to?"
Everyone in the room, including Jonathon, crosses their arms at Steven.
Steven: "How many times have the counselors given up on you?"
Hector is now not only whimpering, but on the verge of tears.
Steven: "How many times has everyone given up on you?"
Jonathon raises his brow at Steven.
Jonathon: "Little harsh, Steve…"
Steven turns around angrily and snaps at Jonathon.
Steven: "Shut up, Jonathon!"
Henry angrily walks over to where Steven and Hector are standing.
Henry: "No, you shut up, Steven!"
Henry steps in between the two and turns to Hector.
Henry: "Screw your parents and screw your counselors! You haven't disappointed anyone here!"
Steven rolls his eyes and raises his hand.
Steven: "You've disappointed m-"
Before he can finish, Henry interrupts him.
Henry: "Don't listen to Steven, nobody here likes him."
Steven scowls at Henry when he says this.
Henry: "Look at all the friends you've made here! Me, Haley, Brooke, Sarah, Wyatt, Josh, Krystal, Alex, and that's just off the top of my head! You have more people backing you than anyone else in this game!"
Henry places his hands on Hector's shoulders.
Henry: "We all know that you're an oddball, and we all love that about you!"
Hector's eyes begin to glisten with passion once again.
Henry: "So embrace that part of you, snap out of it, and win this challenge!"
Hector, now more determined than ever, grabs his milkshake. He glares at Steven and lets out one loud bark before chugging the entire shake in one gulp.
Confessional Booth: Hector.
Hector: "Henry has honestly been the most amazing friend out here!"
Hector smiles so largely that his cheeks protest in pain.
Hector: "I feel so grateful to have come here and met so many people who encourage me to be who I am, and not pretend to be someone I'm not! This experience has changed me entirely, and it's only halfway over! I can't wait to see what's to come… But for now, the only thing I need to focus on is winning this challenge!"
The Cafeteria.
Krystal, having lost the round, walks over to Alex and Josh, her head hung low.
Alex: "Are you gonna be okay?"
Krystal shrugs sadly.
Krystal: "I let her down… She needed me and I couldn't come through for her."
Josh shakes his head and places his hand on her shoulder.
Josh: "No, you didn't. She's going to watch this back, and look at how hard you fought for her, and she's going to be so proud of you."
Krystal nods through her tears. Shortly after this, she is embraced by the two boys.
Confessional Booth: Krystal.
Krystal is still crying in the confessional booth, but her tone of voice has much more hope in it.
Krystal: "My sister and I have always been joined at the hip. With the life we've lived, I've just always felt really responsible for taking care of her."
Krystal begins to bat her eyes repeatedly, tears streaming down her face much more rapidly than before..
Krystal: "And I feel like I wasn't able to take care of her this time…"
Krystal lets out a deep breath and begins wiping at her face with her sleeve.
Krystal: "But I knew that coming out here, this was in a way going to be my chance to distance myself from my sister and find myself outside of the two of us. Moving forward, I'm going to have the opportunity to do what I want to do and not have to worry about her every step of the way."
Krystal nods enthusiastically at this thought.
Krystal: "So, in a sense, I think that losing today was probably best for me in the end."
The Cafeteria.
The three remaining contenders are now standing up at the table. In front of them are ten shot glasses, full of blended cockroaches.
Chris: "The final round is simple. The first two contestants to finish their ten shot glasses of blended cockroach gains the ability to bring back a previously eliminated contestant!"
The three incredibly determined contenders all ready their hands.
Chris: "The final round begins… NOW!"
With that, the three campers begin downing their shot glasses. Hector does this with incredible speed and ease and is the first to finish. Everyone, including Chris, is impressed that he is done so quickly. Hector stands with his legs squatted, and begins jumping up and down victoriously. Henry and Haley run over to him, and boost him up onto their shoulders.
Henry: "You did it, man!"
Hector raises his arms to the sky and lets out a loud "Wooooo".
Hector: "Wyatt, you're coming back!"
Josh turns to a still upset Krystal.
Josh: "We just lost our number advantage…"
As this sinks in, Alex's claps slowly come to a halt. Krystal turns to Josh, and says bitterly:
Krystal: "You should've kept Sam."
Amidst the celebration and devastation, Jonathon and Steven race against each other to be the first one to finish. It becomes slowly apparent that Steven is falling behind. As Jonathon finishes his ninth glass and picks up his tenth, Steven turns to him desperately.
Steven: "Jonathon, give this to me!"
Steven says this while downing his sixth glass.
Steven: "I want it, just let me have it!"
Jonathon looks at Steven then back to Nourhan. The girl is looking at him angrily, unimpressed with where his loyalties lie. It's only then that the truth begins to set in.
Confessional Booth: Jonathon.
Jonathon is looking down sadly.
Jonathon: "I want to bring her back…"
The scene transitions between Jonathon's words and Nourhan's cold stare.
Jonathon: "But I can't undo what's already been done."
Jonathon looks down glumly and shrugs.
Jonathon: "I made my bed and now I have to lay in it."
The Cafeteria.
Jonathon slowly lowers the shot glass away from his lips, Steven finishing yet another.
Vittoria: "What're you doing?! Finish the damn thing!"
Jonathon sets his glass down and Steven finishes his eighth.
Vittoria: "Jonathon!"
Nourhan sits up straight in her seat, intrigued by Jonathon's strange behaviour. Steven finishes his ninth glass and picks up his final one. The cheering has died down and everyone watches in silence as their worst nightmares come true.
Steven: "WOOO!"
Steven slams down his empty cup arrogantly.
Steven: "Okay, Chris! I'm ready for my prize!"
Steven begins clapping his hands together expectantly. Alex rolls his eyes in annoyance.
Alex: "I totally see it now, you poor abused child."
Steven begins tapping his foot impatiently.
Steven: "I was promised a returning contestant! Where is my returnee?!"
Chris, also annoyed, rolls his eyes and scowls.
Chris: "Well it's pretty clear that Hector wants Wyatt back, so that just leaves you. Who do you want to return to the game?"
After saying this, Chris's cheeks bloat and he cups his mouth.
Chris: "I think I just puked a little.."
Steven smiles arrogantly and begins tapping his finger against his lip in a taunting manner.
Steven: "Hmm…"
Confessional Booth: Steven.
Steven is sitting arrogantly on the toilet seat.
Steven: "Sure, I could bring back Kimi but what good would that do me? It's not like she was of any use anyways… No, I need someone who will actually help me find cracks in the Gophers alliance… Someone who hates those brats just as much as I do, but knows them better than I do… Someone like…"
Steven smiles mischievously, his confessional being cut off before he can reveal his returnee's name.
The Beach.
As the sun begins to set below the horizon, the ten campers gather on the beach. In the distance, a large steamboat can be seen carrying two contenders. As it approaches, Hector can hardly contain his excitement. The eager boy begins jumping up and down in the sand. Haley and Henry smile at each other, resisting the temptation to join their hands under the setting sun. A close up of Wyatt is shown, his hair blowing in the breeze as the boat makes its way through the Wawanakwan waters.
Confessional Booth: Wyatt.
Wyatt is sitting in the confessional booth for the first time in weeks. The way he carries himself seems to have changed completely, exuding a much more confident tone.
Wyatt: "I have zero regrets towards giving my spot up for Sarah when I did but now that she's gone and I'm back, there's no more distractions standing in my way to deter me from the 100,000 dollars…."
Wyatt gives a large smile in the camera's direction.
Wyatt: "It's time for me to finish what I started."
The Beach.
A close up of Josh's face is shown. The Boat's reflection can be seen in his glasses reflection. Steven can be seen grinning beside him, Vittoria glaring angrily at the boy who had betrayed her so many times over the last twenty-four hours. Both Krystal and Nourhan are still visibly upset over the events that had taken place over the last twenty-four hours. This mood, although not new to them, is new to Alex. The boy is visibly saddened upon the boat's arrival, a sense of defeat filling his eyes as he watches the returnees approach him.
Confessional Booth: Returnee 2#.
Returnee 2#: "For me, coming back isn't even about the money anymore. I could care less about the game. All that matters at this point is revenge."
The Beach.
Wyatt joyfully joins Hector and the two exchange a heartwarming hug. The second returnee walks past the two and proceeds forward towards where Alex is standing. Alex, feeling fearful and angry, looks away. Much to his surprise, however, the teen walks right past him and continues on. Alex looks over and sees that the boy has stopped in front of an old friend.
Doug: "What's wrong, Joshy? Surprised to see me?"
Josh looks up at the grinning teen and says nothing. No words need to be exchanged in this moment, because it's clear to everyone what he is thinking. Game over.
