"The Tables Have Turned"
The episode opens to a wide shot of Chris McClean, standing on the dock of shame, surrounded by the glistening waters that run through Camp Wawanakwa.
Chris: "Previously on… Total Drama Island: Insanity!"
With a familiar white flash, the recap of the previous episode commences.
Chris: "It was a battle of villainous proportions, when Vittoria and Steven went head to head!"
Vittoria is shown forming an alliance with Hector and Wyatt on the beach. This scene is followed by a clip of Steven attempting to recruit Alex into his alliance.
Chris: "But the real war brewing, was between the Screaming Gophers…"
Wyatt is shown giving a confessional where he reveals his plan to blindside the other gophers after they help him eliminate Steven and Jonathan.
Chris: "Utilizing Vittoria's offer, and Hector's relationships with Haley and Henry, Wyatt formed a counter alliance and set the stage to take control of the game."
Another white flash transitions the scene, and Alex is shown plotting against the counter alliance.
Chris: "But not everyone was fooled by his facade. When Alex caught wind of Wyatt and Vittoria's plan, he orchestrated Vittoria's blind side… But not without some pushback."
Josh and Alex are shown arguing over the impending vote. Although Alex wants to keep his newly formed friendship with Steven intact, Josh is convinced that blindsiding the others will ruin their united front.
Chris: "Ultimately it was Alex who got his way, and Vittoria became the first member of the jury."
Vittoria is seen walking down the dock of shame, leaving Haley, Hector, Wyatt, and Henry in shock. The camera then pans over to reveal a bleak smirk, spreading across Steven's face.
Chris: "Although Alex, Krystal, and Josh have seemingly taken control of the game, they are unaware of the secrets being formed around them."
Henry is shown finding the hidden immunity idol clue inside his treasure chest.
Chris: "Will Henry be able to secure the biggest advantage in Total Drama history…?"
The last scene shown in the episodes recap, is Jonathon revealing to Steven that he is suspicious of Haley and Henry's relationship.
Chris: "...Or will locked lips sink ships? Find out tonight on… Total...Drama..Island...Insanity!"
The camera slowly pans out with these closing lines, and the screen fades to black.
The Boy's Cabin.
The episode resumes where the previous one left off. All of the screaming gophers, with the addition of Nourhan, have gathered inside the boy's cabin following that night's divisive campfire ceremony. Alex is leaning up against the window sill, pleased with the execution of Vittoria's blindside. Krystal is sitting on the bed to his left, and Josh on the one to his right. Nourhan is sitting beside Krystal, and across the room from the remaining four Gophers. Haley is enraged by the other's deceit, and Wyatt is still at a loss for words.
Haley: "Does somebody want to tell us what the hell just happened?!"
Haley has one hand on her left hip, and the other angrily flailing at the open space in front of her.
Alex: "Honestly, we just couldn't trust Vic."
Alex says this carelessly and shrugs his shoulders.
Alex: "You can read Steven like a book just by looking at his face, but no one ever knew what Vittoria was thinking or whose head she was trying to get in-"
Before he can finish this sentence, Haley begins to shout over him.
Haley: "So if that was the case, why didn't you just tell us where the votes were going?!"
Henry reaches out towards his girlfriend in an effort to calm her nerves. Immediately after his hand reaches her shoulder, she shoos it away and snaps at him.
Haley: "No , stop! We deserve an explanation!"
Henry now places both hands on her shoulders and talks to her in a hushed tone.
Henry: "I know, ju-"
Haley grabs Henry's hands, and angrily tosses them away.
Haley: " Don't touch me!"
Haley turns her attention back to the others, and continues to demand an explanation.
Haley: "So what? Are we on the bottom now, are you guys just going to jump ship and play with those two?!"
Alex lets out a brief laugh, indicating his disbelief for the girl's outlandish reaction.
Alex: "No-"
Before he can continue, Haley interrupts him once again.
Haley: "So then why didn't you tell us about the vote?!"
A flabbergasted Alex begins tripping over his own words, and is now talking loudly in an effort to be heard over Haley's screams.
Alex: "Because we couldn't trust you! Hector and Wyatt have been running around with her all da-"
Haley throws her arms down and begins to shout even louder.
Haley: "I'm not Hector or Wyatt!"
This final outburst leaves Alex speechless, Haley tear ridden, and the remainder of the room in silence.
Haley: "That's bullshit, and you know it."
Haley begins to wipes the tears from her eyes. Henry attempts to comfort her by placing his hand around her waist. Haley ignores this gesture, and makes her way past the boy and out of the cabin.
Confessional Booth: Haley.
Haley: "Tonight, Henry and I got blindsided… again!"
It's immediately evident by her tone that she is still irate.
Haley: "It just goes to show that those three are the biggest liars out here. I shouldn't even be surprised, because this isn't the first time they've done something like this. It's just so frustrating…"
When speaking this last sentence, Haley's eyes begin to water and her voice cracks. She takes her forefinger, and runs it alongside the bottom of her eyelid.
Haley: "All I know is that none of them can be trusted moving forward. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me, but I won't give them a third opportunity to make a fool out of me."
This final statement is filled with spite. The tears that have fallen from the girl's eyes leave a vengeful trail behind.
The Boy's Cabins.
Following Haley's departure, the remaining members of the majority alliance sit in silence. After several minutes pass, this silence is finally broken by Wyatt.
Wyatt: "I mean… I don't know if you guys are still open to playing with us, but my loyalty has always been to the Gophers."
Wyatt timidly rubs his arm while he speaks.
Josh: "The point of this wasn't to make anyone feel isolated, or to make anyone not trust us. The point of this whole thing was to bring us all closer together."
Wyatt smiles bleakly at this response.
Josh: "Vittoria was trying to divide us, and so she had to go..."
Josh shrugs his shoulders, and avoids eye contact with the other's.
Wyatt: "Yeah..."
Wyatt looks to the floor. His gaze is gloomy, and his eyes are cold.
Confessional Booth: Wyatt.
Wyatt's tone is nearly expressionless, and his body language reflects the diminishing hope that he has for his success in the game.
Wyatt: "Before tonight's Campfire Ceremony, there was some disagreement on who should go. I had to stand my ground and advocate for Steven to leave, because Vittoria was my ally but..."
Wyatt lets out a deep sigh.
Wyatt: "Now things are worse than they were before. The others kind of cut us all off at the knees and said if you're not going to play the game our way, then you're not going to play it at all!"
The boy raises his head to the ceiling and uses his hands to cover his eyes.
Wyatt: "I just don't know what I'm supposed to do…"
The Boy's Cabin.
Silence ensues once again, and as time continues to pass, Nourhan and Krystal become restless. Nourhan shrugs her shoulders and makes her way towards the cabin door.
Nourhan: "It's getting late, I think I'm gonna go get some rest."
Krystal nods quietly and follows her friend.
Krystal: "Yeah, I'm gonna head out too..."
Wyatt is still staring at the floor when Krystal passes by him. Henry shrugs his shoulders and lets out a sigh that has been pent up inside him, the whole night.
Henry: "Well… I guess that's that…"
Henry makes his way past Wyatt, and begins to look for his girlfriend.
Confessional Booth: Henry.
Henry is sitting with one foot propped up on the toilet seat, and the other pressed up against the wall.
Henry: "Tonight was really eye opening for me. If those three wanted to, they could've gotten rid of Haley or I…."
Henry takes a large gulp, and lets that realization set in.
Henry: "To think that there's nothing that I could've done to have protected her… That's the most frustrating part."
Henry's eyes begin to swell with tears and his voice cracks when he speaks.
The Dock.
When Henry finally finds Haley, she is standing at the end of the dock, her face still covered in tears.
Henry: "Hey…"
Henry places his hand on the girl's shoulder, and she turns around and immediately buries her face in his chest.
Haley: "I don't even want to be here anymore… I just want to go home!"
The girl's tears become more rapid and Henry, taken aback by her comment, pulls away from her.
Henry: "Haley, don't say that! You can't let them win! WE can't let them win!"
As he speaks to her, his hands continue to rest on her shoulders.
Henry: "I need you here..."
After these words are spoken, Haley sinks her body back into his arms.
Haley: "I just don't see the point anymore… Neither of us have a chance…"
Henry takes another large gulp before pulling away.
Henry: "That's not true…"
Henry begins to dig through his pockets, and his sniffling counterpart crosses her arms and watches him.
Haley: "What're you doing?"
Henry: "Hold on!"
Shortly after her question goes unanswered, Haley is shocked to see a roll of parchment emerge from Henry's pocket. Henry unrolls the parchment, and shows her what's inside.
Henry: "This is a clue to a hidden immunity idol! I don't know what it does but if we can find it, it could be our saving grace!"
Haley's face lights up after reading the clue, and the two look at each other. Both of their expressions have changed, and they're now exchanging grins so wide that their cheeks protest in pain.
Haley: "Oh my god!"
Haley lets out a few more tears and leans her head on his shoulder. He wraps his arms around her and rubs her arm.
Henry: "I won't let them tear us apart!"
Haley continues to smile through her tears.
Confessional Booth: Haley.
Haley: "When Henry showed me the clue to the hidden immunity idol, I was floored."
When Haley says this, both her eyes and her grin widen.
Haley: "Just when I thought all hope was lost for us, we were given a second breath of life! This time, I'm not going to waste it by trusting those two faced liars."
Haley frowns and shrugs her shoulders carelessly.
Haley: "Game on."
Total Drama Island: Insanity! Intro.
As the opening theme begins to play cameras begin to pop out of strange places, including an underground burrow and a tree. As the last camera comes out, a clapperboard is held in front of the camera and is slammed shut.
"Dear mom and dad, I'm doing fine…."
The camera goes past the dock of shame revealing the Camp Wawanakwa sign. As the scenery continues to be shown, the camera rushes past Chris then continues up the ever so familiar mountain before going over the cliff and through the ring, venturing into the treacherous waters!
"….You guys are on my mind!"
Hector is shown happily swimming in the water before being frightened after seeing a shark and rushing towards the surface.
"You asked me what I wanted to be, and now I think the answer is plain to see…."
As Hector emerges from the surface, Wyatt and a crying Sarah are seen floating past him on an old, gray plank. From behind his back, Wyatt pulls out Sarah's teddy bear and holds it towards her, much to her delight. However, just as he does so, a hawk sweeps down and snatches it, sending Sarah back into hysterics.
"I wanna be famous!"
The hawk flies above Steven, who is in the forest surrounded by pumpkins. As snakes begin to make their way out of the pumpkins, Steven screams like the little girl he is deep down and begins to run. As the camera zooms out, Nathalie is seen holding a snake and smiling as Jonathon puts his hands on his hips and raises his left brow at her before the sun's vibrant light overcomes this view.
"I wanna live close to the sun."
As the sunlight retracts and a new scene is revealed, Josh and Doug are seen bickering at each other on a raft before going over a waterfall.
"Well, pack your bags 'cuz I've already won."
Matt is seen standing on a long and narrow log, with one hand in the air and one hand on his heart, reciting what looks to be a play in a rather over dramatic light.
"Everything to prove, nothing in my way."
Kelly swings by on a vine, grabbing Matt by the collar of his shirt and taking him along for the ride. As they rush past parts of the camp, she drops Matt into the outhouse which falls over because of this. Courtney tumbles out of the outhouse and walks around slightly dazed before falling over, hitting the ground rather hard.
"I'll get there one day."
The camera pans through the cafeteria window, showing Chef making some kind of disgusting grub before going over to Sam and Eric who are looking at each other dreamily before a spoonful of Chef's food is shoved between them. Looks of disgust are shared between the two before Nourhan and Noah are seen laughing together at a nearby table.
"I wanna be famous!"
As the scene changes to the outdoors, both Kimi and Vittoria are seen admiring Alex who is in the water looking at himself in a small hand mirror.
"Na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na…"
As Alex smiles at himself in the mirror it shatters into a dozen pieces, much to his dismay.
"I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous!"
The camera pans over to the Dock of Shame where the hawk drops Sarah's teddy bear into Krystal's arm. Krystal grins maniacally at this before pulling a lighter out of her pocket and setting the small girl's bear on fire. As laughter continues to erupt from her mouth, she throws the doll up into the air.
"I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous!"
As the burning stuffed animal falls from the sky, the daylight shifts to night. The bear falls down in between Haley and Henry, who are about to kiss when Brooke, whose hair is now on fire, pops up between them. As the camera begins to zoom out, the twenty-two campers are revealed to be sitting at the Bonfire Ceremony. All of them are whistling with the exception of Brooke who is screaming, Krystal who is laughing, and Sarah who is crying hysterically.
The Boy's Cabin.
When the episode resumes, a wide shot of the boy's cabin is shown. Dawn is quickly approaching, and the sun is slowly starting to emerge from the dark clouds overhead. Inside of the cabin, the boys begin to wake up and prepare to take on what Chris is about to throw their way. Steven is sleeping on the bunk above Hector's, with an eye mask covering his face. Hector sits up, stretches his arms towards the ceiling, and lets out a loud yawn. Without warning, Steven hurls himself off of the top bunk and onto Hector's body.
Hector: "Ow!"
Steven removes his face mask and smiles.
Steven: "Rise and shine, Gophies!"
Confessional Booth: Steven.
Steven is sitting on the toilet with his legs crossed, and a smile on his face.
Steven: "Last night went as planned. I got rid of that ungrateful brat, Vittoria. I mended my bond with Jonathon AND I managed to create a small rift in the Gopher's "so called" alliance. "
When discussing the Gopher's alliance, Steven rolls his eyes.
Steven: "Now that the pot is simmering, it's time for me to give it a little stir!"
The confessional ends with Steven giving a snide smile in the camera's direction.
The Boy's Cabin.
Steven's obnoxious wails wake up everyone in the cabin. Henry and Josh are both visibly irritated by his antics, but neither Alex or Jonathon seem to care.
Alex: "Good morning, Stevers!"
Alex jumps down and nudges Steven in the arm with his elbow.
Steven: "Good morning, Ale- Oh wait..."
Before finishing his sentence, Steven redirects his attention towards Josh.
Steven: "Is it okay that I talk to Alex? I know how you get..."
Steven frowns sarcastically and bats his wide eyes. Josh rolls his eyes before plopping his head back down, pressing his pillow against his face and screaming into it as loud as he can.
Confessional Booth: Josh.
Josh: "Right now Steven and Jonathon are on the bottom, and they're doing everything they can to expose cracks in the Gophers' alliance. "
Josh lets out a deep sigh, and shakes his head.
Josh: "I wasn't really in love with the idea of a Vittoria blindside, but everyone else in my core alliance was on board so I didn't really have a choice."
Josh takes his forefingers, and pushes his glasses further up his nose.
Josh: "It wasn't blindsiding Vittoria that hurt us, it was blindsiding the other members of our alliance that put the unification I built in jeopardy. So now I have a lot of damage control to do if I want to stay in control of this game."
When Josh says this he is wide eyed and smiling, fully prepared for the uphill battle he is about to embark on.
Outside the Restrooms.
The sun is now shining high in the sky, and the remaining campers have dispersed and begun their morning routines. Henry has just finished taking his morning shower, and is freshly shaved. Almost immediately after emerging from the bathrooms, he's startled by Josh who bombards him from around the bathroom corner.
Henry: "Dude! What're you doing?!"
Josh shrugs carelessly.
Josh: "Sorry. I thought it would be better if I waited out here. Would've been odd if I approached you in the shower..."
Henry squints his eyes and leans his body away from the boy.
Josh: "We need to talk about what happened last night."
Henry's expression changes when he hears this, and he indicates satisfaction with this request by nodding his head.
Henry: "Let's take a walk."
Confessional Booth: Josh.
Josh: "Last night, Haley had the biggest reaction to the blindside."
Josh is sitting on the toilet seat with his legs spread apart, and his forearms resting on his thighs.
Josh: "I know that Haley and Henry are close, and Henry will listen to logic much more than she will. So it's important to smooth things over with him, and ensure that we're all on the same page moving forward because I still don't trust Steven, and I need their votes to take him out."
The Woods.
In an effort to avoid drawing attention to themselves, the two boys begin to walk towards the cafeteria while talking about the previous night's vote.
Henry: "I was just surprised that nobody gave us the heads up that Vittoria was going home, because we both would've been fine with that plan."
Josh nods in agreement and begins to explain his reasoning for keeping the two in the dark.
Josh: "In all honesty, Alex was convinced that Wyatt and Hector had something going on with Vittoria, and so when everyone decided to vote for Vic they wanted to leave you two out of it because of your relationship with Hector. That's all it was."
Josh stops , and turns to face Henry.
Josh: "But last night's vote wasn't something that I wanted either. I tried to keep everyone on Steven but Alex was so adamant that we had to get rid of Vittoria."
Henry nods his head.
Henry: "I mean it makes sense, but at the same time this is the second time you guys' have left us in the dark when you didn't need to."
Josh nods in an attempt to show sympathy towards Henry's situation.
Josh: "I know, and if it were up to me we wouldn't have. You know that I want us to stick to the Gophers' alliance."
Henry nods, but is visibly agitated by his comment.
Henry: "I mean, that's what I thought you wanted but you can't say that you're all about the Gophers' alliance, and then vote with Steven and Jonathon."
Josh begins tripping over his words, and scrambling to cover his tracks.
Josh: "No- I know! I agree one hundred percent. I still want Steven to be the next one out!"
Henry shrugs, and begins to scratch the back of his shoulder.
Henry: "I mean, if the plan is still Gophers' strong, than let's do it. But you guys' can't lie to us like that again..."
Josh begins to nod frantically.
Josh: "You have my word!"
There is a brief pause before Josh breaks the silence, and holds his hand out towards Henry's.
Josh: "Are we cool?"
Henry forces an insincere smile and shakes the boy's hand.
Henry: "Yeah, we're cool!"
Confessional Booth: Henry.
The facade that Henry was putting on in the previous scene is no longer present in his confessional.
Henry: "I may be all smiles and hugs with Josh, but once you break my trust you can't repair it. So I have to take everything that he says with a grain of salt."
When Henry speaks, you can see the veins in his neck, and hear the spite in his voice.
Henry: "But at the same time, Haley and I haven't had the chance to look for the hidden immunity idol. So in the meantime, we need to be really careful with how we handle the Gophers, because if they really wanted to, they could still team up with Steven and Jonathon and take the rest of us out."
The Dock.
The scene opens with a wide shot of the clear blue sky, and the blinding sun. The camera pans down to show both Hector and Wyatt sitting at the end of the dock. Both of the boys have their shirts off, pant legs rolled up, and feet in the water.
Hector: "Do you ever wonder what fish think about?"
Wyatt scrunches his face at Hector's question, and tilts his head.
Wyatt: "No… Literally never."
Hector shrugs and begins to make gurgling sounds.
Hector: "Something like that I'd imagine."
Wyatt rolls his eyes, and slams his body down against the dock.
Confessional Booth: Wyatt.
Wyatt: "Don't get me wrong, Hector's a stand up guy but strategically.."
Wyatt rests his chin between his thumb and his forefinger.
Wyatt: "I mean… Let's just say that I probably won't last long if he's my only ally."
The Dock.
Wyatt sits up, and turns his body so that it's facing Hector.
Wyatt: "You're pretty good friends with Henry, right?"
Hector nods.
Hector: "Yeah, why?"
Wyatt squints his eyes, and frowns.
Wyatt: "Well… if we stick to the Gophers' alliance, we'll always be on the bottom..."
Wyatt bites his bottom lip and ponders how to get out of the position he's in.
Wyatt: "But Haley seemed pretty mad about the vote..."
Confessional Booth: Wyatt.
Wyatt: "When I had the opportunity to return to this game, I promised myself that I would play hard and go for the win. And after last night's vote, it's clear that sticking with the Gophers isn't going to get me to the end. But right now, the trio of Alex, Krystal, and Josh are so drunk with power that I think they're still under the impression that we want to work with them."
Wyatt laughs at the thought of this.
Wyatt: "And you know what they say about assuming..."
A mischievous smile slowly spreads across Wyatt's face.
The Cafeteria.
As the morning becomes afternoon, the ten remaining teenagers have gathered in the cafeteria for whatever disgusting grub Chef has whipped up the night before. Haley and Henry are sitting on the far side of the cafeteria, too intoxicated off each other's flirtatious gaze to actually eat what's in front of them. Hector and Wyatt are both in line, waiting to get their food, and Alex is standing behind them with an empty tray. Josh walks into the cafeteria and sees that Krystal and Nourhan are already seated, laughing and eating. Krystal looks up at him and waves cheerfully, a gesture that he half heartedly returns. After seeing Alex in line, he contemplates whether he should make an attempt to talk to him or stay clear of his company altogether. Steven, who is sitting with Jonathon nearby, picks up on this and grins.
Steven: "Watch this..."
Steven gets up, walks over to Alex, and throws his arm around him.
Steven: "Hey!"
Alex smiles briefly, before being disappointed by the brown mush that Chef Hatchet plops onto his tray.
Alex: "Hey!"
Josh's mind is made up for him, when he sees the interaction between the two boys.
Steven: "Why don't you come sit with us?"
Steven gestures towards the table that Jonathon is sitting at. Josh sits down at the table nearest to the cafeteria's entrance, and sadly rests his chin on his palm. Alex looks over and sees his friend sitting alone, and than looks back at Steven.
Confessional Booth: Alex.
Alex is clearly perplexed by the feelings he has towards Josh, and it's even more evident in his tone.
Alex: "Josh and I have been thick as thieves since the beginning of this game, but lately I'm not so sure..."
Alex looks down sadly and lets out a loud sigh.
Alex: "I feel like sometimes he's only interested in what benefits him, and..."
Alex's eyes begin to fill with tears, and he looks up towards the ceiling before taking a deep breath.
Alex: "I just always put what's best for everyone else, ahead of what's best for me."
Alex lowers his head once again, and locks his gaze with the camera lense.
Alex: " I think that this time I need to do what's best for me, and in order to figure out what that is, I can't be around people who don't support my decisions. And since the merge, all Josh has done is argue with me about who I should and shouldn't be talking to..."
Alex looks down again and uses his finger to trace the lines on the palm of his hand.
Alex: "I don't know... I think I just some time to clear my head."
The Cafeteria.
Alex looks at Josh sadly, and than turns his attention back to Steven and smiles.
Alex: "Sure!"
The two smile, and begin to walk towards Jonathon's table. Steven looks over his shoulder, and meets Josh's sad gaze. He grins sadistically before turning away. Josh rolls his eyes, and watches from afar as everyone enjoys their afternoon meal with their friends… Everyone but him.
Confessional Booth: Josh.
Josh's facial expression is very bleak, and he looks like he's been drained of all his energy.
Josh: "It's weird because I came into this game without a single friend in the world, and it didn't really bother me all that much, but now..."
Josh gulps loudly, and his glasses begin to fog up.
Josh: "I don't know… Everything feels different now..."
Josh looks down sadly.
The Main Campgrounds.
When the scene transitions, an aerial shot of the ten campers is shown. All of them have gathered in front of Chris on the main campgrounds, and are awaiting instructions for that day's challenge
Chris: "Good afternoon, campers!"
Chris is smiling and more chipper than usual, but everyone returns this gesture with a cold stare.
Chris: "Okie dokie then… moving on… Who's ready for today's challenge?!"
The group of teens continue to stand in silence. Chris, who is now irritated, rolls his eyes at their lack of enthusiasm.
Chris: "Okay...Well what if I told you that today's challenge is a reward challenge, because there will be no campfire ceremony tonight?!"
The news that there is no impending vote finally breaks the silence from the crowd, and everyone but Steven erupts in cheers. Chris smiles and nods.
Chris: "That's more like it!"
Steven crosses his arms, and looks away angrily. When Alex sees this, he nudges the boy with his elbow and smiles.
Alex: "Aren't you excited, Steve?! We're all safe for another round!"
Realizing that he is making his displeasure too obvious, Steven forces a smile and responds in an overly chipper tone.
Steven: "Soooo excited!"
Confessional Booth: Steven.
Steven is sitting with both his legs and his arms crossed.
Steven: "What's the point of a challenge if no one is going home? We seriously just had a non elimination round a couple of days ago."
Steven rolls his eyes at the thought of having to put up with everyone for another few days.
Steven: "Quite frankly, I'd be more excited if this round were a double elimination. It's about time we start weeding out some of the more obnoxious players."
Steven says this before rolling his eyes once again, oblivious to the fact that he is the most obnoxious player left in the game.
The Main Campgrounds.
After the confessional fuzzes out, Chris continues going over that day's impending challenge.
Chris: "For today's challenge, everyone will be assigned an animal. It will be your job to capture that said animal, and relocate it to this cage."
The camera pans over to reveal a large wooden cage that has never been seen on the show prior to this moment. Jonathon crosses his arms and rolls his eyes.
Confessional Booth: Jonathon
Jonathon: "At the risk of breaking the fourth wall, the amount of crappy production that goes into this show is absolutely out of control."
Much like his counterpart, Jonathon crosses his arms and legs.
Jonathon: "I mean, that cage wasn't even in the aerial shot from two minutes ago."
Jonathon rolls his eyes.
Jonathon: "Ridiculous."
The Main Campgrounds.
Chris: "The first person to capture their assigned animal will win… A dinner for two, that will include a meal of your choosing!"
The campers once again erupt in cheers. Haley's face lights up, and she turns to Henry and mouths the word "wow!". Henry smiles back and nods, sharing his excitement with her.
Confessional Booth: Henry.
For the first time since the night before, Henry's face is radiating with joy.
Henry: "These last few days have been so hard out here, and I know that Haley in particular has been really struggling since the last Campfire Ceremony."
Henry's smile continues to grow.
Henry: "So having the opportunity to to give her a night where she doesn't have to think about the game, and can just have a good time… It would mean the world to me."
Outside the Shack.
After Henry's confessional fuzzes out, the ten campers can be seen standing in front of the dock of shame. To the left of the dock is a small, dark shack.
Chris: "Inside this shack, is all the materials you will need to capture your animals! After selecting your animal at random draw, you can enter the shack and take anything you think will benefit you in today's challenge!"
Chris holds up an old, rusty bucket.
Chris: "Time to draw!"
One by one, the teens put their hands inside the bucket, and select their animals. After selecting a piece of parchment from the bucket, Alex unfolds it to discover that he has to capture a beaver. He nods approvingly and walks into the shed. Henry and Haley are the next to select parchments from the bucket.
Haley: "A duck... That shouldn't be too hard, right?"
Henry nods while unfolding his own parchment.
Henry: "Oh, sick! I got a rabbit! That should be a piece of cake!"
The two happily walk into the shed, and Wyatt and Hector are the next two to draw from the bucket. After unfolding his small parchment, Hector's face lights up.
Hector: "YES! I got a raccoon! The creature of the night!"
Hector throws his fist into the air, and brings it down triumphantly. After opening his slip, Wyatt smiles and shrugs. His animal is revealed to be a chipmunk. After the two proceed to enter the shack by the dock, Krystal and Nourhan approach the bucket and draw slips of their own. Krystal unfolds her piece of parchment and her face lights up. Nourhan leans over out of curiosity, and looks bewildered by the animal she received.
Nourhan: "A deer?! That seems a little more extreme than Wyatt's chipmunk..."
The camera zooms in on Krystal's face dramatically. The girl takes off the cardigan she is wearing, and ties it around her head in a headband-like fashion.
Krystal: "Bring it on."
Confessional Booth: Krystal.
Krystal's face looks more determined, than ever before.
Krystal: "Chris said that if we win today's challenge, we'll be treated to a meal of our choosing."
The girl squints her eyes and tightens the cardigan that is wrapped around her head.
Krystal: "Nothing stands in the way of me and el taco!"
Outside of the Shack.
Josh is the next to approach the bucket. The boy plucks the first slip that touches his fingertips, and reads it aloud.
Josh: "Bear..."
Josh rolls his eyes, crumples the note in the palm of his hand, and tosses it over his shoulder.
Josh: "Nope."
Confessional Booth: Josh.
The viewer can infer from Josh's body language that he's irritated with his selection.
Josh: "A bear, are you serious?"
Josh crosses his arms angrily.
Josh: "Wyatt gets a chipmunk, Henry gets a rabbit, and I get a freaking bear?!"
The boys rolls his eyes.
Josh: "No. Absolutely not!"
The Main Campgrounds
Everyone with the exception of Josh, who has stormed off angrily, and Steven and Jonathon who have yet to obtain their parchments, are inside the old shack by the dock. Jonathon sticks his long arm into the bucket, and selects his animal. No sooner than he does this, does Steven rip the slip out of his hand and tear it in half.
Jonathon: "Hey!"
Steven smiles smugly, and smacks the bucket out of Chris's hands. Chris clenches his fists, and stomps his foot down angrily.
Chris: "St-"
Before Chris can finish his sentence, Steven silences him by pressing his index finger to his lips.
Steven: "Sorry Christopher, we'll be sitting this one out."
Jonathon slouches his shoulders, and looks down sadly.
Jonathon: "But… food..."
Steven rolls his eyes and pulls Jonathon away from the dock by his arm.
Steven: "But nothing! You can buy all the food you want with a million dollars! Now let's go!"
Confessional Booth: Steven.
Steven is sitting smugly with his arms and legs crossed over each other.
Steven: "Last night, Jonathon told me that Haley and Henry have some sort of lovers affair going on behind the scenes..."
Steven smiles, satisfied with himself and his forthcoming antics.
Steven: "If that's the case, we need to dig up some dirt on those two so that we have evidence to show the other Gophers and create more distrust in their alliance!"
Steven's grin only widens as his plan comes to fruition.
Steven: "Jonathon and I may be on the bottom for now, but if we expose Haley and Henry's alliance for what it really is..."
The Old Shack.
After Steven's confessional fuzzes out, the seven contenders who have chosen to partake in that day's challenge are revealed to have gathered in the old shack. The shack is very poorly constructed, and built entirely out of wood that has been painted black. The only light that illuminates the small area, is the sunlight shining through the creavases of wood. The shack is mostly filled with wooden crates, and miscellaneous items that would be completely useless in the current challenge, but scattered around are items that the campers gather to capture their animals.
Krystal: "Hey, check this out!"
Krystal picks up an orange gun and points it at Nourhan. The girl gasps loudly, and immediately presses the gun downwards.
Nourhan: "Be careful with that thing!"
The camera once again zooms in on Krystal's face, who has wiped black grease off a near by chainsaw, and spread it like war paint on her face. After Hector sees the girl do this, he runs over to the chainsaw and picks it up.
Hector: "No way! A chainsaw!"
Everyone exchanges looks of concern due to Hector's questionable sanity. Ignoring their stares, he begins to rev the chainsaw and laugh like a maniac.
Confessional Booth: Hector.
In the confessional booth, Hector is covered in mud from head to toe.
Hector: "You know… My dad's actually a lumberjack, so I've been around chainsaws and what not all my life."
Hector nods, quite confident with himself and his ability to wield a chainsaw.
Hector: "I mean he never let me use them because he always said that I wasn't mentally sound enough..."
Hector rolls his eyes and flicks his hand.
Hector: "But honestly, what does he know?"
Hector reaches down and picks up the chainsaw. As soon as the chainsaw is within the camera's view, the blade is shown to be drenched in a red substance that largely resembles blood.
The Old Shack.
Nourhan picks up an old rusty bucket and shrugs.
Nourhan: "You think I can catch a frog with this?"
Krystal shrugs.
Krystal: "I dunno… But I bet you could catch a frog with this!"
Krystal pulls out the tranquilizer gun again and points it at the bucket. Nourhan rolls her eyes and walks away with the bucket still in her hand. Across the shack Henry is untangling a net that he plans on using to capture his rabbit. Meanwhile, Haley finds a large butterfly net. After everyone is finished selecting their items, Nourhan, Krystal, and Alex all clear out. Hector is about to leave when Wyatt holds his arm in front of him, stopping him. Wyatt looks around and makes sure that no one else is in the shack before approaching Henry and Haley.
Wyatt: "This seems like a good time to talk."
Wyatt and Hector both walk over to where Haley and Henry are sitting. Both of the boys sit on crates beside them. Henry stops untangling his net, and looks up at them.
Henry: "Yeah... Last night was messed up."
Wyatt nods in agreement, and takes another precaution by looking around him before continuing.
Wyatt: "It was, but now we know that we can't trust the other three."
Confessional Booth: Wyatt.
Wyatt is smiling confidently throughout his entire confessional.
Wyatt: "Henry and Haley have been betrayed by the Holy trinity so many times, that they would make the perfect allies to us because they truly have no where else to go."
Wyatt nods happily.
Wyatt: "Those three are the biggest threats left in the game, and it's about time someone does something to squash them."
The Old Shack.
Henry nods, and talks in a hushed tone.
Henry: "I think that right now, our best move is to pretend we're all Gophers strong, and then at the next Campfire ceremony we can use Steven and Jonathon to break them up."
With a new pact beginning to form, smiles spread across all four of the teen's faces,
Haley: "Oh my god..."
Haley's smile is the widest of the bunch. She lays her head down in her lap and then raises it back up.
Confessional Booth: Haley
Haley: "This game is so crazy."
Haley laughs cheerfully.
Haley: "Just last night I thought we were screwed, but now Henry and I have the clue to the idol and an alliance with Wyatt and Hector."
Haley retains her smile, and shakes her head.
Haley: "Those three brats don't see it yet, but the tables have turned and now they're the ones who're screwed."
The Old Shack.
Haley looks at the others with a new found fire in her eyes.
Haley: "I think that this four, can really do some damage."
Henry looks at his girlfriend and smiles.
Henry: "Most definitely. We can take it all the way to the end."
Henry looks over and locks eyes with Wyatt. The two smile at each other.
Henry: "Are you guys ready to make a move?"
Henry extends his hand to the boys and Wyatt's grin grows bigger.
Wyatt: "We've been ready."
The scene concludes with a close up of Wyatt and Henry shaking hands.
The Woods.
When the scene transitions, Nourhan can be seen walking through the woods with her rusted bucket. While she walks out in the open , Krystal can be seen cartwheeling, and crawling, among various other maneuvers to dart behind trees and bushes that are nearby. Nourhan rolls her eyes at the girl.
Nourhan: "You're being ridiculous."
Krystal pops her head up from a nearby bush and squints at her friend.
Krystal: "Ridiculous… or strategic?!"
Nourhan stops walking and turns to face the girl.
Nourhan: "Just ridiculous."
After Nourhan says this, both girls are startled by the sound of a snapping twigs behind them. Without any hesitation, Krystal turns her body and shoots several darts in the direction of the noise.
Alex: "Ow..."
Alex's eyes roll into the back of his head and his body falls onto the forest floor.
Krystal: "Oops..."
Nourhan crosses her arms and looks at the girl in shame. Krystal begins to pick at her teeth and laughs nervously.
Outside of the Boys Cabin.
A wide shot of Steven and Jonathon walking up the cabin's front porch steps is shown. Once the duo reach the door, Steven turns to face Jonathon.
Steven: "You keep watch, I'm going in!"
Jonathon crosses his arms and rolls his eyes.
Jonathon: "Sure, why not? It's such a beautiful day and all."
Steven turns around and begins to open the door, but stops when he hears Jonathon let out a loud sigh.
Jonathon: "It's fine… It's not like I wanted to win food or anything like that… No, I'd much rather be standing here on this por-"
Before he can finish his sentence, an agitated Steven slams the door shut behind him. Jonathon rolls his eyes in response. Inside the cabin, Steven approaches Henry's bed. After digging around, the only thing he is able to find is his bag. Steven puckers his lips and taps his finger against his chin.
Steven: "Hm… To go through someone else's personal belongings, or to not… hm..."
Confessional Booth: Steven.
Steven: "Don't get me wrong, it's totally wrong to go through someone else's things..."
Steven shrugs carelessly.
Steven: "I just don't care!"
The Boys Cabin.
Steven shrugs again before rummaging through Henry's bag and tossing out every item he comes across. By the end of his ransack, Henry's items are scattered throughout the cabin. The only thing in his bag that peaks any real interest is the hidden immunity idol clue. When Steven reads the outside of the rolled up parchment, a look of perplexity overcomes his face. He lifts the scroll out of the boy's bag and slowly unrolls it before going on to read its contents aloud.
Steven: "Hidden Immunity Idol Clue..."
A white flash illuminates the screen and Steven is now outside, reading the clue to Jonathon.
Steven: "Safety lies underneath the loser's feet..."
Jonathon squints at the parchment, unsure of what to make of the clue.
Jonathon: "What do you think it is?"
Steven frowns and shrugs once again.
Steven: "Not sure, but it must be some type of immunity..."
Jonathon bites his bottom lip as he re reads the clue, over and over again.
Jonathon: "If it's hidden… then this must be the clue to its location?"
Jonathon's tone indicates that even he questions the authenticity of this statement.
Steven: "Oh!"
Steven snaps his fingers, and his face lights up!
Steven: "I got it!"
A grin spreads across Jonathon's face, who is ecstatic to hear of Steven's discovery.
Jonathon: "Where is it?!"
The camera zooms in on Steven, who places his hands on his hips and smiles cockily.
Steven: "Clearly it's on the bottom of Hector's shoe."
The camera pans back out to show Jonathon crossing his arms, and raising his left brow.
Jonathon: "Really..? That's what you came up with?"
Steven angrily tosses his arms into the air.
Steven: "What?! It's a valid guess!"
Jonathon sighs before taking another moment to consider the possibilities. While he ponders the clue over in his mind, he gazes the horizon until his eyes scan over the dock of shame. Jonathon's eyes widen and his stare stops at the dock.
Jonathon: "I know where the advantage is."
Confessional Booth: Jonathon
Triumphant music is playing during Jonathon's confessional.
Jonathon: "Steven and I have been at the very bottom since the teams merged. We've had a really rough go of things..."
There's a sense of urgency in his voice when he speaks.
Jonathon: "But if we can find this hidden power… We could turn the game on its head!"
The Woods.
The scene transitions from Jonathon's confessional, to Henry attempting to capture a rabbit in the middle of the woods. The boy attempts to throw his net over the rabbit, but the rabbit evades it and hops away. Henry frowns, but his expression changes from one of sorrow to one of concern when he hears the revving of a chainsaw in the distance. Moments later, a crazed Hector, who is now covered in mud, is seen chasing after a raccoon while holding a chainsaw above his head. Hector is hollering all sorts of nonsense, and making noises that are indiscreet to the human ear. Henry turns his head to face the camera and gives a large gulp.
The Beach.
A sad symphony sets the scene, as the sun begins to set overhead and the clouds over Camp Wawankwa begin to turn orange. The camera pans down from the sky, and refocuses itself onto Josh. The lonesome boy is sitting on the sand, at the edge of the tideline. His jeans are rolled up to his knees and his feet are in the water. He looks down and watches as the tide comes closer, washing away the grains of sand that are stuck between his toes.
Confessional Booth: Josh.
Josh's glasses are no longer present on his face. They've been replaced with an ongoing stream of tears.
Josh: "Growing up for me, it wasn't always easy. My parents, they made some really bad decisions and their actions put me in some really bad situations."
Reliving a painful period of his life, Josh attempts to recollect himself before delving deeper into his past.
Josh: "Throughout my childhood, I was in and out of foster care. So there was a lot of moving around, and nothing ever felt permanent. Everywhere I went was a temporary home. "
Josh wipes at the tears falling from his face.
Josh: "Everytime I went to go live with a new family, or transferred to a new school, the hardest part for me was always starting over. You invest so much of your time and so much of your being in other people, and then in the blink of an eye… they're gone. So after a while, I just stopped trying."
At the end of this line, a piano ballad begins to play softly in the background. Josh's voice over continues to narrate the scene, and the visual transitions back to the boy sitting on the beach, staring at the setting sun.
Josh: "For me, it was easier to just shut down and put up a wall. Because everytime I let someone in, I gave them the opportunity to let me down… and they did, every time."
The waves continue to break on Josh's legs, now soaking his clothes.
Josh: "People always promise to stick by you through the tough times, but… More often than not, people lie."
Josh's voice cracks, and it becomes increasingly difficult for him to talk about his perception on human bonds.
Josh: "I thought that out here I could form relationships that were more dependable and long lasting, but with everything that's happened…"
The wind begins to blow and Josh begins to cry on the beach, mirroring his emotions from the confessional booth.
Josh: "It just reminds of who I was at the beginning of the game. At this point, I just can't help but shake the feeling that I'm just never going to matter to other people, the way they matter to me."
The scene ends with a wide shot of Josh , sitting on the beach, hopelessly watching the blood orange sun.
The Woods.
A white flash illuminates the screen, and transitions the scene. The camera is slowly panning through the woods until it locks onto a bush. Krystal and Nourhan both slowly raise their eyes from the bush, and watch as a deer frolicks through the forest in front of them.
Krystal: "This is it. This is my chance!"
The girl says this in a hushed tone, and watches the deer come to a stop and drink from a small puddle on the forest floor.
Nourhan: "Well, what are you waiting for then?! Bag the doe!"
Krystal slowly raises her tranquilizer gun from the leaves, and screams "bullseye" at the top of her lungs, before sinking several darts into the deer's rear end. An elated Krystal leaps from the bush in excitement and runs towards the unconscious animal.
Krystal: "Yes! We did it!"
Nourhan follows the girl and stands at the deer's side. The two begin jumping and clapping joyfully before realizing that they have overlooked one, very important factor.
Krystal: "Wait… How're we going to move the deer...?"
The two girls look down at the deer, that is easily twice Krystal's size. Krystal's lip begins to quiver and her eyes tear up.
Krystal: "All I wanted was a taco..."
Just as the girls begin to accept their defeat, they hear a frog croak. Both girls' eyes widen and they exchange looks of excitement.
Krystal: "NOURHAN!"
Krystal grabs the girl by her shoulders and begins to shake her vigorously.
Krystal: "YOU HAVE TO WIN THIS FOR US, AND YOU HAVE TO FEED ME TACOS UNTIL I KEEL OVER!"
Nourhan nods seriously and raises her bucket over her head. She begins to slowly creep towards the frog until she is close enough to capture it. She dives towards the frog, but startles it in the process. By the time she hits the ground, the frog has already leaped away. Krystal, who witnesses the frog's escape, drops to her knees and screams.
Krystal: "WHHHHHHY!"
Nourhan, who's still laying on her stomach after a failed attempt to capture the frog, rolls her eyes. As she lies on the carpet of dirt, her gaze wanders towards the beach, which can be seen through the parting leaves at the edge of the woods. Her interest is struck when she sees Josh sitting by the shore.
Confessional Booth: Nourhan.
Nourhan: "At this point in the game, it's no secret that the trio of Alex, Krystal, and Josh are in control. So if I'm going to attach myself to an alliance, that's definitely the one I want to attach myself to."
Nourhan laughs.
Nourhan: "I think that I've done a really good job nurturing my relationship with Krystal but if history repeats itself, my bond with her means nothing if it doesn't benefit Josh."
Her expression becomes slightly more serious, and she begins to delve into her strategy behind integrating with the Gophers.
Nourhan: "Josh has proven himself to be a very powerful player in this game, and if he feels threatened by my bond with Krystal then it could be game over for me."
Nourhan gives a large gulp .
Nourhan: "So if I want to align myself with the power, I need to build a relationship with Josh as well and show him that I can benefit his agenda."
The Dock of Shame.
The background music intensifies and a wide shot of the dock of shame is shown. Steven and Jonathon can both be seen walking briskly down the dock until they reach the end. Both boys begin to take off their shoes and prepare to dive into the water, when Jonathon nudges Steven with his shoulder and points down the beach.
Jonathon: "Hold on...We have to be careful. Josh is here."
Steven rolls his eyes and takes off his shirt.
Steven: "He's not going to know that we're up to anything"
Steven shoves his shirt into Jonathon's chest.
Steven: "Here! Hold this!"
Jonathon looks confused by Steven's demand.
Jonathon: "Wait, what?! But I'm the one who deciphered the clue!"
Steven glares at Jonathon angrily and snaps back at him in response.
Steven: "And I'm the one who carried you to the merge! Now, hold my shirt!"
Without another word, Steven dives into the ocean. Jonathon crosses his arms angrily. The camera follows Steven as he navigates his way through the trenches of Camp Wawanakwa. After diving into the water, Steven takes a second to look around, dumbfounded by the exact location of the idol. He swims over to one of the wooden posts holding up the dock, and looks upward. Under the dock of shame, is a small parchment tied to one of the wooden planks. Steven grins and swims to the underside of the dock and begins to untie the parchment. After detaching the item from the dock of shame, he swims out from under the dock and emerges from the water, gasping for breath. Jonathon runs over to the left side of the dock and leans down.
Jonathon: "Did you find it?!"
Steven smiles and holds up the gray packaging. Jonathon returns his smile, and holds his arm out towards him. Steven grabs onto his friend's forearm, and is pulled up by Jonathon. Steven sits on the dock, exhausted from the swim below. Still kneeling down next to him, Jonathon picks up the small package and the two boys begin to frantically unravel it. Once unwrapped, the packing is revealed to be a gray, wooden carving of Chris's face. Jonathon rolls his eyes after seeing this.
Confessional Booth: Jonathon.
Jonathon crosses his arms and gives his signature eyebrow raise.
Jonathon: "Seriously, McClean?"
The Dock of Shame.
Taped to the bottom of the carving is a folded up piece of paper. Steven rips the piece of paper off of the statue, and unfolds it. After the paper is unfolded, Steven begins to read aloud what is written inside.
Steven: "Congratulations, you have found the hidden immunity idol."
Steven's voice cracks near the end of this sentence, and a rarity occurs... He begins to cry.
Steven: "This idol must be played on yourself or another player after the votes are cast, but before the votes are read. "
Jonathon laughs, also tearing up from the first sign of hope that the two boys have seen in weeks.
Steven: "The idol has the power to make the player it's played on immune, cancelling out any votes they receive. The last time this idol can be played is at the final five Campfire Ceremony."
Exhausted from his efforts in the last couple of weeks, Steven lays his body across the dock and covers his face in his hands, in an effort to conceal his emotions. Jonathon laughs through his tear filled eyes and pats Steven on the shoulder.
Jonathon: "We did it, Steve..."
Confessional Booth: Steven.
A mixture of emotions are present in Steven's face. His fists are clenched and his eyes are full of malice and spite, yet when he talks they continue to fill with tears.
Steven: "They've all counted me out this entire time, and I hope that they continue to do so..."
Steven shakes his head angrily.
Steven: "Because they were all wrong about me, every god damn one of them..."
Thinking beyond the game, and into his life, Steven swallows his emotions back and looks into the camera lense. His expression is more sorrowful than before, but his tone doesn't match.
Steven: "They should've taken me out when they had the chance, because now this is my Island… and no one is going to take it from me!"
Every word he speaks is full of hate and disdain.
The Woods.
Henry is seen sitting at the top of a tree, hovering above a rabbit below. When the rabbit hops directly below him, he drops his net on top of it. After successfully trapping the animal he throws his arm into the air, and brings it down in a triumphant stance.
Henry: "Yes!"
The Beach.
Josh is still sitting alone on the beach, watching the sun slowly sink beneath the clouds. Nourhan approaches the boy, and takes a seat beside him on the sand.
Nourhan: "Hey...What's wrong?"
Josh shrugs.
Josh: "Does it matter? Shouldn't you be off catching animals with Krystal?"
Josh says this coldly, but Nourhan keeps her compurse calm and collected.
Nourhan: "Honestly, if I won, Krystal would just make me order tacos anyways..."
Josh laughs in disbelief before getting up and beginning to walk away.
Nourhan: "Where're you going?!"
Nourhan stands up and turns towards Josh's back. Josh turns around and raises his voice slightly.
Josh: "There's just no point in any of this."
Nourhan is confused by Josh's statement, and struggles to come up with a response that can console him.
Nourhan: "Any of what...?"
After struggling to open up about his true feelings, Josh begins to cry. While rapidly wiping the tears away from his face, he begins to confide in Nourhan.
Josh: "This stupid island. Everyone here is just like everyone else. They only pretend to care, but when it's time to back up their promises they just leave..."
Josh continues to cry, harder than he has the entire season.
Nourhan: "Oh, honey..."
Nourhan wraps her arms around the boy, and he buries his face in her shoulder.
Josh: "I just thought it was different this time, and that I actually mattered to Krystal and Alex."
Nourhan pulls away from the boy, still clinging onto his shoulders.
Nourhan: "Josh, you do matter to them!"
Nourhan , now more serious than before, puts emphasis on the word "do".
Nourhan: "I know for a fact that Krystal cares about you, and as for Alex..."
Josh watches as Nourhan gestures towards the dock with her eyes. When he turns around, he sees both Steven and Jonathon sitting on the dock.
Nourhan: "Steven's just playing off of his emotions… He's using both of your insecurities to tear you apart because he knows that you're stronger in this game together."
Josh takes what Nourhan is saying into consideration, and wipes the last few tears from his face. Now more level headed, he turns his attention back to her.
Nourhan: "You've made so much progress out here, but you can't let your mind slip back into your old thought process. If you want to make things different this time, you have to take control of the situation and make them different! But if you go back to isolating yourself, you're only letting Steven win… And we can't let him win this war!"
Josh and Nourhan both look out towards the dock.
Confessional Booth: Josh.
Although still somber, Josh now sounds much more confident than in the words he speaks.
Josh: "This entire time I've been throwing a pity party for myself, but Nourhan really opened up my eyes to the reality of the situation we're in."
Josh places both of his hands on his knees.
Josh: "I've worked so hard to build confidence in myself, and I'm not letting Steven take that away from me..."
As Josh continues to speak, a wave of strong will and determination overcomes him.
Josh: "The life I've lived has taught me to be resilient when things get hard. So if he wants to take me down, he's going to have to try a lot harder than that..."
The Beach.
The wind in the air begins to increase, and the two teens look at each other, both determined to put a stop to Steven's antics.
Josh: "We have to keep Steven from pulling Alex in any further..."
Nourhan nods in agreement.
Nourhan: "It's going to be tough… Alex thinks his best path to the end is with Steven..."
Josh smiles for the first time in days.
Josh: "If that's the case, then we'll just have to take Steven out..."
Nourhan returns this smile
Josh: "Are you up for that?"
Nourhan's grin grows wider.
Nourhan: " Of course, I'm with you guys... Till the end."
Josh, unaware of Nourhan's ulterior motives, nods happily.
Confessional Booth: Nourhan.
Nourhan: "Right now, there are wars brewing around every corner."
Nourhan laughs at this thought.
Nourhan: "You have the civil war between the Gophers, and than you have the uphill battle between Steven and Jonathon, and the Holy Trinity. "
Nourhan rests her forearms on her knees, and begins to talk with her hands while explaining the situation.
Nourhan: "But the beauty of it all is… No one is even looking my way."
Nourhan points to herself, her eyes now wider than her smile.
Nourhan: "I've positioned myself perfectly, and now I'm just going to sit back and ride this wave for a while… And when the time comes, I'll end the war that everyone else started."
The Woods.
When the scene transitions, a close up of the forest floor is shown. At first glance it looks as though the ground is covered in leaves, but upon further examination it's immediately apparent that Wyatt is hiding beneath them. Strategically placed in the middle of the pile is a walnut. After waiting for quite some time, a chipmunk slowly hops over to the walnut, and and begins to gnaw on it. Before it has a chance to scurry away, Wyatt's hand emerges from the leaves and grabs the small creature by its tail. His entire body now fully emerged from the leaves, Wyatt stands up and holds the chipmunk above his head.
Wyatt: "Woo! I got it!"
His celebratory screams are short lived, however, because not long after he captures the rabbit does Henry run past him and towards the main campgrounds. Realizing that Henry has also captured his animal, Wyatt dashes after him in an attempt to beat him to the cage.
The music in the background begins to intensify as the two boys race each other to the campgrounds. Henry, who got a head start and is reasonably more athletic than Wyatt, continues to widen the distance between the two boys. When the two boys reach the poorly constructed cage, however, they're both shocked at what they see.
Haley: "Oh, hello boys! What took you so long?"
Haley is sitting inside the cage, with her feet perched up on the table in front of her. In her left hand she is holding a butterfly net, that has a small duck inside of it. Both Henry and Wyatt's jaws drop when they see that Haley has already won the challenge. Before they can finish processing this thought, Chris's voice is heard throughout Camp Wawanakwa, over the camps intercoms.
Chris: "Congratulations, Haley! You're the winner of today's challenge! You and one other camper will enjoy a meal of your choosing tonight!"
Right after chris announces this, a glum Krystal joins the two boys.
Krystal: "Man… I really wanted those tacos..."
Krystal hangs her head down low. Without having too much time to mourn her loss, her mind becomes distracted by a screaming Hector who is still chasing a raccoon with a chainsaw, and screaming like a maniac. Krystal arches her lips curiously, and raises her tranquilizer gun until the boy is within its crossfire. Without further hesitation, she shoots several darts from the gun, which successfully hit Hector. The effects of the tranquilizer darts are nearly instantaneous, and the boy hits the ground hard. Krystal shrugs.
Krystal: "Well… At least that maniac's rampage is over..."
Both Henry and Wyatt smile and nod in agreement.
Confessional Booth: Krystal.
Krystal looks content with the challenge's outcome.
Krystal: "Some may say that Haley won today's challenge, but I shot two boys with a tranquilizer gun.."
Krystal squints her eyes and smiles.
Krystal: "So, who's the real winner here?"
The Main Campgrounds.
Henry's expression has now changed, as he walks up to his girlfriend and congratulate her.
Henry: "Color me impressed. Who knew you had a knack for catching for ducks?"
Haley blushes and lets out an obnoxious giggle.
Haley: "I guess I just really wanted to take you to dinner.."
Henry's cheeks turn red, and he looks away shyly. The camera pans out to reveal both Jonathon and Steven, standing at the brink of the woods. They watch the two flirt from afar, and exchange looks of disgust.
Jonathon: "So we have the idol… But where do Romeo and Juliet come in?"
Steven frowns and shrugs sarcastically.
Steven: "I dunno… Let's leave that up to the Gophers.."
Steven smiles mischievously and watches as Josh and Nourhan join Krystal and Wyatt. He then redirects his attention to Alex, who has just returned from the infirmary after being shot by Krystal's tranquilizer gun.
Confessional Booth: Steven.
Steven, who is now reasserting himself with a more aggressive demeanor, is talking with his eyebrows arched, and a snide grin on his face.
Steven: "Jonathon and I found the idol… But why use that, when I can use one of these losers to do my dirty work for me?"
Steven shuts his eyes and smiles, pleased with himself and the plan he is about to execute.
The Boys Cabin.
Exhausted from that day's challenge, a majority of the boys have turned in early and are sound asleep by the time the sun sinks below the horizon. The only exceptions being Steven, Jonathon, and Henry. Steven approaches the door to the cabin, and opens it slowly. The door creaks as it opens, and a streak of moonlight from the sky, spreads across the floor. Steven slowly tip toes across the room, until he reaches Alex's bed. He kneels down and covers the boy's mouth, startling him and abruptly interrupting his sleep. Steven puts his finger to the boy's mouth, leans in closer, and whispers in his ear.
Steven: "Follow me. There's something I need to show you."
A white flash overtakes the screen and transitions to final scene of the episode.
The Cafeteria.
Night has now fallen over Camp Wawanakwa, and Haley is leading her boyfriend into the cafeteria with her palms over his eyes.
Henry laughs at the absurdity of the situation.
Henry: "Why the big charade?"
Haley smiles and continues to lead the boy towards the display in the center of the cafeteria.
Haley: "You'll see in just a second, we're almost there..."
Once the two reach their destination, Haley uncovers her boyfriend's eyes.
Haley: "Okay, now you can look..."
There is a small round table set up in the middle of the cafeteria, with a chair for each individual to sit in. The caferia's lights are off, and the only light being emitted in the room, is the light coming from the dozens of candles that have been placed throughout the dining area. On the table are two already served dishes. Both plates are filled to the edges with roasted turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, and a side of green bean casserole. Henry's favorite meal. Between the two dishes is a picture - from the very first day that Haley and Henry met. Both Haley and Henry are linking arms and smiling in the photograph, with the other teens cropped out of the group photo.
Henry: "You did all this… for me?"
Henry's mouth is wide open, and his eyes are glistening. He turns around to face his girlfriend, whose arms are outstretched towards him. Grasped tightly in her hands, is the book that fell out of her bag the day that they met.
Haley: "Do you remember what you said when you first met me? How you felt about romance novels?"
Henry smiles, tears now forming in his eyes.
Henry: "I told you it was my favorite genre."
He doesn't need to say anything else, Haley already knows what he's thinking.
Haley: "And at the time, this was my favorite romance novel..."
Henry takes the book from Haley's hands.
Haley: "But our romance story..."
Henry opens the book, and finds a drawing of both Haley and Henry inside of it. The drawing is a dramatization of the two's first kiss in the phobia challenge.
Haley: "Our love is the greatest romance story of all."
Henry looks up through his tears, and meet's the girl's loving gaze.
Henry: "Haley..."
The boy takes a large gulp, and festers up the courage to tell her how he feels.
Henry: "I love you."
Haley becomes awestruck by the boy's words. She takes several moments to gather her thoughts, before falling into his arms. The two cling tightly to each others' bodies, and she begins to cry.
Haley: "I love you too, Henry."
The two smile through their tears and the camera begins to pan out. The two can be seen smiling through the cafeteria's window, pulling away from each other just far enough to kiss. The camera continues to pan out until both Steven and Alex can be seen… crouched below the window… hanging onto every word. Alex's eyes are as wide as his open mouth, shocked by what he has just discovered.
Alex: "Oh my god..."
Haley and Henry continue to kiss, unaware of the trial that their love is about to face.
