Haru: Are you still torturing me?

Me: You're not being tortured. Stop being a drama queen.

Haru: I am not a drama queen *hair flip*

Me: Yeah okay well back to the story.

Haru: You didn't answer my question.

Me: Hope you guys like it!

Haru: Hey!

From inside the room, the doctors were trying their best to work fast to stop the bleeding. Each time they tried to clean the area, there'd be more blood; too much to redo the stitches. It was sheer panic. Haruka was in excruciating pain. His face turned a bright red as the pain increased. Sweat started to form on his face while he clenched onto the bedsheets. The nurses were rushing to sedate him. One of the doctors finally spoke up, "Everyone! Calm down! Nothing's going to work until you calm down!" Each one took a deep breath and started effectively working on Haru. When the nurses sedated him, he was still bleeding.

Makoto was worrying himself to death. His whole body was trembling. Haru, are you okay? What's happening? What about the baby? Our baby? I need to know something. Anything. Ugh! This is all my fault! If I was there sooner. He bit his lip and continued to cry. I'm so useless. I wish I could save you from everything.

Just then he heard the doctor say, "Okay…we're all done. He and the baby will be fine as long as he doesn't try to push himself again." Makoto jumped up and covered his mouth. T-the baby…it's okay. Thank god. He heard footsteps coming towards the door. He quickly stood up and wiped his face with his arm. The door opened and the doctor came out.

Makoto looked at him with worried eyes, "U-uh..."

The doctor nodded, "You can go in now."

Makoto bit his bottom lip, holding back tears.

He walked into the room to find a sleeping Haru in bed. He laid perfectly still as Makoto watched his slow breaths from the doorway. He made his way over to the boy and sat beside the bed. His eyes were glassy. How are you feeling Haru? He reached forward and touched Haru's sweaty hand. Makoto's hand was shaking slightly. His eyes were focused on the dolphin's face for awhile before moving to stare at the boy's stomach. He could see a small bump forming there. Makoto let go of his lover's hand then placed it on the boy's belly. So..this is our baby huh? A faint blush spread on his cheeks. You're going to be perfect, just like Haru. He gave a soft smile thinking about what they created then he head a raspy voice, "Who told you to let go of my hand?" Makoto almost jumped out of his seat.

"H-Haru!?" His eyes were wide with both excitement and worry.

The boy laid there with his eyes slightly parted as he looked down at his boyfriend who was completely frantic. He looked away and stared at the wall. I'm sorry Makoto. I hate making you worry. Makoto came closer to his face, "Haru are you okay? Do you need anything?" He paused from his rambling. "Is there anything I can do?"

Haru closed his eyes. "I'm fine."

Makoto could still see the thin layer of sweat of Haru's face. He frowned as he thought of how Haruka sounded when he scream the orca's name. It was bloodcurdling that gave him chills. Haru stop it. "You're not-"

"I'm fine." Haru was glaring at Makoto with weak eyes.

Makoto knew just would get Haru to stop trying to hide his emotions, like he always did. Haru I'm not that naïve. He breathed, "Fine." He stood up and turned his back from Haru to walk out the door. At that moment, a hand grabbed onto the edge of his shirt. It was light and he could barely feel the added weight but it startled him. He didn't expect for Haru to actually reach out for him.

"Don't-"

"Haru-chan."

Haru didn't have any more strength. His hand dropped from the orca's shirt. Just before it fell all the way down, Makoto caught it in his own. He held the boy's hand tightly, "I'm not going to leave you." He thought he saw a bit of a smile form on Haru's mouth before the boy drifted back to sleep. I don't think there was ever a time when you weren't pushing yourself. He sat back down and watched Haru's breaths.

For awhile, his mind stayed quiet. Time was passing without him even noticing. The sun was about to set and the room was illuminated with an orange glow that seemed to have brought color back Haru's face.

A nurse came in and broke the undying silence, "Tachibana-kun?"

The orca looked up at the woman, "Hm?"

"I need to inform you that visiting hours are almost over."

He gave a nod, "Hai."

Once the nurse left the room Makoto stood up and sat on the side of the bed, next to the dolphin. He placed one hand on the boy's stomach as he slowly leaned forward to kiss him on the forehead. It was no longer sweaty but still moist. He removed his hand from the boy's stomach and touched his cheek. "I love you. Please sleep well," he whispered.

8:57pm:

While Haru was in the hospital, Makoto decided to housesit for him, as if he weren't there everyday anyway. When he walked in, the house was completely dark. The only light there was came from the very few windows the house had. He stood at the entrance and sighed as he took off his shoes. He turned on some of the lights while he made his way towards the bedroom. Before getting in the bed, Makoto started to take his shirt off when he saw his phone light up with Gou's name on the screen.

The next day:

The guys were on the rooftop eating their lunches. For once, Gou didn't show up and Makoto was eating silently. In the midst of Nagisa and Rei's conversation, Rei stopped his undeniable lover for a moment and glanced over at the orca.

"Makoto-senpai?"

Makoto looked up from his bento box that he wasn't really eating out of, "Hm?"

Rei raised an eyebrow, "Are you alright? You've been really quiet."

Nagisa instantly looked over at Makoto, "Rei-chan's right! What's wrong?"

The orca gave a nervous laugh, "Nothing's wrong you guys."

Rei narrowed his eyes, "Is it Haruka-senpai?"

Makoto averted his gaze back his food. It's not just Haru. It's...everything.

Nagisa leaned forward to get a better look at the boy's face, "Is the baby okay?"

The question took him back a little. Crap, I forgot that I told them Haru was in the hospital for complications with the baby. He gave a very soft smile, "Hai."

"Then Haruka-senpai should be fine," Rei looked up at the sky.

"Yeah Haru-chan will be back in no time!"

Makoto couldn't help smile at their optimism. He wished he could tell them everything. Physically Haruka might be okay in little to no time but mentally, I'm not sure if Haruka had been okay in that way since.. His hands began to shake uncontrollably with both anger and helplessness the moment he thought about that night. All he kept thinking about was all the blood that was escaping Haru as he sat on the bed, doubled over, and trying his best not to scream from the pain. A mixture of cramps and torn flesh.

A week later - 7:14pm:

Haruka had been released from the hospital a few days ago and able to go back to school. He was in the kitchen cooking dinner while Makoto was in the living room doing his homework. The orca was working so vigorously on his English assignment that he repeatedly broke the pencil. He looked up and glanced at Haru's homework sitting on the other side of the table. I need to finish so I can help him. He really needs to catch up in this class. He sighed and put his pencil down. It had been silent for quite some time now. So quiet that Makoto could barely feel Haru's presence. He stood up and went into the kitchen to see his lover at the stove with an apron on.

"Haru-chan?"

"Drop the 'chan' already," the boy said in a low voice.

Makoto rolled his eyes, "Hai-hai." He walked over to the boy and wrapped his arms around him with his hands resting on Haru's stomach.

Haruka immediately flinched at his touch.

"Haru-"

"I'm sorry."

"What are you apologizing for?"

Haru didn't answer; he just continued to cook. After a few moments, Makoto finally spoke up.

"Haru...about Rin-"

Haru's eyes shot wide open at his name. He instantly broke out of Makoto's grasp and turned around to face him. He handed the brunette the spatula, "Here." He moved around him and began to walk away.

"W-wait Haru-"

He quickly responded without looking, "I'm going to the bathroom." He continued down the hallway then into the bathroom. After closing the door and turning on the lights, he stared at himself in the mirror. His face was paler than usual and his hands suddenly felt numb. I can't. I don't want to think about it. I don't want to think about him. Ugh! I feel disgusting! He stepped back from the mirror. Everything. It's all disgusting. He looked down at his stomach and frowned deeply. I'm fat. Ugly. Disgusting. Look at me. Repulsive.

"Please Haruka, please. Choose me. Why Makoto?" His eyes began to water. "Why!? Why him?" he yelled.~

Am I not supposed to love him? He got tears in his eyes. I-I don't know what to do. Why Rin? He felt a cramp in his lower abdomen and winced. "Is this all...my fault?"

Makoto was outside of the bathroom ready to knock on the door before he stopped himself when he heard Haru's voice. Haru-chan. We need to talk about it but, I know you're still hurting. I should've known better. I'm sorry. He didn't bother to knock; instead he let himself into the room. He stayed hushed as he watched Haru gaze at his reflection with eyes especially fixated on his stomach. Makoto decided to try to break Haru's trance.

"Haru, don't you have an ultrasound tomorrow?" He couldn't think of anything else to say regardless of already knowing the answer.

He didn't reply. His scowl became more intense the longer he stared.

"Haru?" He still wasn't able to get an answer out of the boy. He walked over to him and wrapped his arms around him one more time. Haru's automatic reaction was to pull away but Makoto held him even tighter when he did so. "I'm not letting you go."

To be continued...
