Uhm... Hello Sweeties? I noticed that this story was still getting a lot of views, even though I hadn't updated for a long time. So I figured... now was a good of time as any. I am sorry about that really long wait, and I will try to update sooner, if you guys want that.
"So, where are you wanting to actually go, Jenny?" The Doctor asked me.
"I thought that we were going to go to the library?' I asked, getting confused.
"Not if you don't want to. It is your birthday." He reminded me. "That is something I thought that I would never get to ever say to a child of mine again. The time war took that away from me.'' He looked away from me, to the middle of the TARDIS.
"Oh, well, I wouldn't mind going to the library. You know, for a bit of light reading and relaxation, then you can break it all?" I glanced sideways at him, a sly smile on my face.
He looked back at me, offended. "Oi! I am not going to break it all! Why would I break it all?"
"It's apparently a habit that you have."
"Did you read that there?" he asked warily, starting up the engines to his one true love.
"Yes, so what if I did?" I asked, having to hang on precariously to the railing while the whole ship wobbled all over the place.
"So the entire universe could be at the stake!" He exclaimed, joining me at the railing.
"Oi, go fly this thing!" I protested, almost falling off the balcony.
"Nah, we're goooooooooooooooood okay going now." he said, having actually slipped and fallen on his side. My dear old dad scrambled up from where he was, and punched a few buttons, immediately righting the TARDIS, and ourselves.
"Thanks much." I said, righting myself up. "Are we there yet?"
The Doctor shuddered. "Don't do that to me, please. I am, as you know, new to experience, once more. Please be kind and considerate to your dear old father."
I giggled in a very girlish, unlike me way, then shuddered at myself, repulsed at what I had just done. The Doctor saw this, and grinned at me.
"It's natural to go through all of these different changes. And usual, for a time lord. It just takes time. Might as well embrace it. And we are here. Best if I go first." He pulled down a lever, making sure we were parked, before daring to step outside into the library.
******PAGE BREAK******* LALALA SORRY ABOUT THE HAITUS ******
My first thought was that the library was much quieter in my dream world. Here, in the real world, it was very noisy and crowded. I shuddered, then accidentally bumped into my dad. He was staring up at a god sized statue of a woman with very curly hair pulled in a ponytail, wearing a spacesuit, with a blue journal clasped in one hand, and a sonic screwdriver in the other.
"River." I whispered softly, recognizing her from my dream like state.
The Doctor merely nodded mutely, walking over to read the plaque near the bottom of her feet. It read-
Professor River Song, archeologist, to whom this library is now dedicated
River Song, 35, was the woman who made all of the library now able to visit, sacrificing herself for the greater good.
The library was infested with the fearsome creatures, vastra nerada (flesh eating creatures that live in the dark).
Herself and a small team of people banded together to help clear the planet of them. Most perished before getting the chance River got.
Legend also speaks of another man, and woman, named The Doctor and Donna. What there part in River's success was is still unknown.
Professor Song downloaded herself to the data core in the library in order to rid the planet of them, killing herself, but saving everyone else. There is a whole wing now dedicated to her, called the 'Tower of Song and Freedom'.
I finished reading that, then looked over at the Doctor. He had a lone tear tracing the outlines of his cheekbones.
"D-dad?" I asked hesitantly, not wanting to spoil everything too soon.
He looked down at me, blinking, as if he forgotten that I was here with him. "Yes?"
"Are you okay, I mean, this being a statue of your dead wife right here. I figured it's enough to make anyone uncomfortable."
"You figured right." He mumbled quietly, slipping his hand into mine. "So," he cleared his throat. "Where was this data bank that had all of that information on time lords that you saw?"
"Oh, well, it isn't really accessible to the public." I looked up at him with what I hoped was a sheepish expression on my face.
"Never has that ever stopped me before. Where was this?"
"Um, somewhere. I think it was somewhere in the center of the library?"
He paled. "I know the way there."
