River's POV
Oh, that was me. Sorry." I smiled sadly at him. "I'm dead, Sweetie. This is a holographic image of me, but when you downloaded me to the computer, I was able to access everything and everything."
He clenched his jaw. "And I suppose you think its funny?"
I sat back down, and took a sip of the champagne. "Sweetie, I know it isn't." I looked away from them, avoiding their gazes.
Jenny was watching us back and forth like someone watching a ping pong tournament. I looked back at her. "Wait, sorry. Bit confused here. You took the documents?" She said, pointing at me.
"Yes. I confess. By all means necessary, lock me up. I'll just manage to get out again. I'm not even solid."
"Why?" he said. "Why?"
"Jenny knows everything and anything that was on those documents. Anything you want to possibly know. Ask her if you want to know what they said. They couldn't fall into the wrong hands. I made sure she would get to them, then... poof. Deleted." I turned my gaze back at him.
"You should have told me."
"And what would you have done? Gotten your hands on them, taken them into your TARDIS?"
"Yes."
"Then what?"
He clenched his jaw, then looked down at his daughter, who had been staring down very pointedly at her hands through the argument. "Jenny, we're done here. Lets go."
She looked up. "Sorry?"
"We're done here." He started walking away from the table. Jenny stood up, and gave me the apologetic smile that his companions give, saying sorry-about-that-and-I-wanted-to-stay-longer-or-actually-apoligize-but-he-is-already-almost-gone-so-now-I-have-to-run-to-get-to-the-TARDIS-on-time-as-is look.
"Bye River."
Jenny's POV
"What the hell's the matter with you?" I spat. We were already in the vortex, and my father was glaring at the center column of his beloved ship.
"What?" He scrubbed a hand over his face, and turned to face me.
"I asked you what the hells the matter with you. You can't just leave her like that! She's your wife, for God's sake!" I cried.
"Sorry, then what did I just do? Walk away? Yes. Yes I did." He resumed his glaring.
"I'm going to make a cup of tea. I'll be back when you've calmed the hell down." I stormed off.
***Few hours later***
I tiptoed up the stairs. "Hello." I said meekly.
He didn't look at me. "Hello."
"I'm so sor-"I started.
He put up a hand. "Don't apologize. There is nothing for you to apologize for. Me, on the other hand... Well, I'm sorry. I put you through hell. It must have been weird for you to sit through that. I swear I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable. How about I make it up to you?" he tried for a smile, finally looking at me.
"What do you have in mind?"
"A shopping trip. Strictly you. I can give you a card that will work anywhere." He raised his non-existent eyebrows. "What do you think?"
I grinned. It wasn't much of an apology, but it was a start. "What are you going to do?"
"Have you ever been to their food court? Their smoothies are amazing! I will wait there and you will shop."
"Sounds good to me."
He pulled a few levers, and we materialized. "Ladies first." He gestured to the doors. "Ah! Wait!" He produced a small piece of plastic. "Here."
I smiled, accepted it, then bounded out the door, with him at my heels. He shut the door, but then said:
"Drat! Forgot my screwdriver! Be back in a mo." He walked into the TARDIS, and I honestly believed he would pop back out in a few seconds. I started walking away, noticing only too late that the wheezing, groaning sound was his ship departing. The blood drained from my face.
"No..." I whispered.
The Doctor's POV
I sat down on the floor and started to sob. It wasn't right. And I knew that. But I wasn't ready to get one of my children killed again. I had had Jenny back for about 2 weeks, and it was too much.
Unable to deal with myself, I set the coordinates for Victorian London, hoping they wouldn't judge me too harshly.
A/N- I am back! I cannot promise a regular update at all. I ran out of ideas for this story because I cannot write for 11 any more. 12 is now my baby. Not really But I can't imagine any stories that I write including 11, so the next chapter will have 12 and Clara in it as regulars. I am sorry for the not updating, and I am sorry for the hasty ending to the Library. I have not left this story. This chapter is un-beta'd, so all mistakes are purely mine. Hope to see ya'll soon!
