The party in the compound had the whole courtyard filled with many different kinds. There were humans, witches, vampires, werewolves, and lastly, a single doppelganger. The doppelganger had shown up to the party with the host's sister and a mutual friend from the hospital where the women worked as nurses. The brunette and the host's sister only worked at the hospital because it gave them something to do during the day, and it was safe for the two of them to work with the ill people.

"Your brother threw this party?" The young redheaded girl's eyes widen as she looked around at the ongoing event. While the young girl was looking around, the brunette and the blonde found the three of them a table amongst the crowd the formed around the various tables that were put out early that day.

"He does things like this all the time." Rebekah waved her hand in the air like she was dismissing the girl's excitement for being at a party yet again thrown by her older brother. The brunette knew Rebekah would have reacted the same way if she had never been to such an event before.

The brunette had let out a soft laugh as her eyes were looking for something else. To be more exact. Someone else. The host of the party was to help the brunette escape from Rebekah and the party.

"Who is that man?" The red-headed woman pointed at a figure that was up on the second floor close to the stairs. "Oh my, he is the most handsome man I ever laid my eyes on."

The man had slicked down to match the style of the decade. Wore a black suit that had a matching bow tie. Underneath the suit's jacket was a white shirt that had been pressed earlier that morning. He was busy speaking with the mayor of their fine city and his protégé was standing close to the man's side.

Rebekah nearly snorted out when she saw who the red-headed was pointing at. The brunette stayed quiet, but a hint of green was starting to appear behind the chocolate orbs of her eyes.

"I would watch it, Genevieve." Rebekah warned her fellow nurse. "That is the host, my brother and Elena's one true love." Rebekah's right hand gripped onto Genevieve's pointing hand's wrist to lower it down on to the iron table where the three women were sitting.

"You are married to that man?" The nurse asked Elena in a hushed tone to keep their conversation private.

Elena's eyes were still on the second floor looking up at the man she was in love with. They had shared a glance that resulted in a smirk from the host. He had heard Genevieve's question. The topic of the question had also been a topic between the two, but one that Elena had turned down more than once.

"Not married." Elena answered Genevieve while she was stealing three drinks off a passing waiter's tray.

"They just love each other, live together, and sleep together. Nothing married couples do." Rebekah commented under her breath while she was taking two of the glasses from Elena. Handed over one of those glasses to the red headed witch.

When Rebekah still saw the hope in Genevieve's eyes every time the woman would look back at the host, she decided to squash the dreams of the red headed witch. "He is devoted to Elena now."

"Rebekah, go easy on the girl." Elena laughed softly as she witnessed all hope leave Genevieve's green eyes. "You will eventually find a man for you, Genevieve, but Klaus is off limits, my friend."

While the girls had been chatting, the host had found his way over the chatting girls without them noticing his presence. Even the vixen that held his heart. It amused him to hear his sister trying to upset a young girl but by protecting the woman that would be her sister in law one day.

"My love." Klaus announced his presence as he placed his hand on Elena's shoulder. "What are you ladies discussing?" The question didn't need to be answered as he already knew.

"I think you know, my dear brother." Rebekah glanced up at Klaus. "Niklaus, this is my friend, Genevieve." Rebekah held her glass towards Genevieve. "She is also a nurse at the hospital."

"It is lovely to meet you." The man's attention only stayed on the new woman for a moment before turning his attention on to Elena. "My love, care to join me at the bar?"

"Not now, Niklaus." Elena turned her head to Klaus only for a moment. A sinister grin played on her lips as she looked up at her man. "The ladies and I were having a lively chat."

"One that I believe can be spoken at a later date. I request your company at the bar, my love." Klaus's hand left Elena's shoulder only to hold it out to her for her to take.

Elena gave into his wishes. Her hand slid right into his like a perfect fit. She gave a small wave to the other women while she was standing up from the table to join her man for a drink at the bar.

Klaus lead Elena through the party, leading her to the bar that was set up against the wall. His brother was due to be there waiting for him. Just like Elijah to show up right on time, waiting for the couple.

"Klaus, you know how to put together an event." Elijah spoke as he held a champagne glass in his hands. "Elena, you look lovely as always." The brother pressed a gentle kiss to the cheek of the beauty. When he pulled his head back, he found the glare of his brother. "Now, Niklaus, why did you wish to meet?"

"The two of us have a meeting with the witches tomorrow." Klaus reminded his brother as he was wrapping his arm around his love's body. "I can not attend tomorrow. I would like you to take Elena with you. She seems to get along with the witches."

"Where will you be, brother?" Elijah asked the question that was on both Elena's and his mind.

"I will be meeting with the werewolves." Klaus explained.

Just that last word had Elena sliding out of her lover's hold. She stood closer to Elijah. She wanted to look into Klaus's eyes to gain the truth of this visit.

"Will Lana be there?" Elena questioned her lover on the means of his visit to see the Crescent Pack.

"Elena…" The warning tone in Klaus's voice gave Elena the answer she was expecting but not wanting.

The brunette abandoned both of the Mikaelson brothers to retire for the night. She stormed up to the bedroom that she shared with the man who called Elena his love. The anger she felt, she took out on the doors when she slammed them shut.

The sound of slamming doors tore through the party. The loudest noise the host heard was what followed the doors slamming but that of the locking of their doors. Klaus threw back his drink and his brother's before deciding to face the wrath of a scorned woman. He went up the stairs to the master bedroom. With no one looking, he broke the doorknob on one of the doors to allow him into the room. The sight was unpleasing. The woman was pacing from the closet to the bed. On the bed laid her open trunk that held a few thrown in articles of clothing; half in the trunk, half hanging out of the trunk.

"Elena, stop this nonsense. We both know you aren't leaving." Klaus mocked the doppelganger's punishment on the man who had hurt her in the way she could not even speak of.

"Fuck you!" She yelled at him as she dropped her clothes into the trunk. "I forgave you. I moved back in. Now you are spitting in my face. Go ahead. Go fuck your werewolf whore or go fuck Genevieve. All I know is that I am out of here!" She snapped at the man that was acting like the victim. "You are an ass."

"Language Elena." Klaus tried to discipline Elena's vulgar language. Did he just try to reprimand her?

"Fuck you!" She yelled even louder that time. "I hate you!" She added in to hurt him.

"No, you don't." Klaus hushed her angry attitude. "You are just upset, my love."

"Just upset? Just upset!" She screamed as she took the clothes from her trunk and shucked them at the man. "You swore to me that you would never go see that woman ever again. Yet, you are sending me off on an errand just so you can screw your whore in peace!"

"You are being overdramatic, my love. I swore I would never cheat on you ever again." He said to her. "I never will, but I do need to meet with the werewolves, their alpha will be there. We need to keep the peace with them. Lana has not forgiven your reaction to the affair. She will have scars."

"It is the least I could do to her." Elena grumbled under her breath. "She got what she deserved. She is lucky I did not rip her head off! You are lucky I did not remove the dagger from Kol to stab you in the heart! You are lucky all I did was scratch her face. You are lucky all I did was leave you! Maybe I should have slept with Elijah to make you feel my pain." She glared right at the man for a moment, but she ended up throwing the trunk right at him. Sadly, he had dodged it and the trunk slammed into the wall.

"Elena, stop with these childish antics." Klaus demanded from his love. "You shouldn't be throwing stones, my love. Get off your high horse. The woman he claims a broken heart, flaunting herself with my brother. Letting him flirt and kiss your cheek. You flirt right back and touch as well, my love."

"He is my friend, Niklaus. He is the only reason why I even came back. You should thank him for that night. You should be grateful he brought me back to see how miserable you were. Now, look at you, back to your old ways. I should have stayed with Marcel. Thank god, that boy is nothing like you!"

How could two people that loved each other so openly, be so unhappy behind closed doors. The doors barely contained their problems. Especially when Elena would openly fight with the mighty vampire. A broken-hearted doppelganger is one of the most dangerous creatures to mess with.

"I love you, Elena." The vampire was breaking down. Waving the white flag so to speak. "I won't meet with the wolves tomorrow. Rebekah and Elijah can attend while we go meet with the witches."

"Thank you." She breathed out a sigh as she took a seat on the bed. "I can't keep doing this." She admitted to him. Waved the white flag in surrender to end that night's fight.

"I know, my love." The man came up behind her to kiss her neck softly. "I know I need to try harder."

"We both do." Elena admitted as she laid her head back on his shoulder.

His hand reached to her hair to unclip her long locks from the faux bob she had to fit in with the time. A small chuckle escaped his lips as he watched her long bouncy curls hit her back. His sister had lopped off her hair in order to fit in with the time, but it made him happy to know Elena was not just going to chop off her gorgeous hair in order to fit into the times better.

His hand traveled from her neck down to the zipper that held her dress together for her. With his thumb and index finger, he slowly pulled down the small zipper until he reached the end of the line. To his surprise, his love had yet to stop him. With a hand on each strap, he started to pull down the straps down her arms before she finally stopped him. Only had stopped him to continue the job herself.

He watched as Elena stood up from their bed. The moment she was standing, the dress fell off her body to hit the floor. He listened in to hear her heels being kicked off her feet. Klaus had gotten up from the bed, as she was getting back in. He was removing his clothes. First the bow tie. Followed in by the jacket. Each article had fallen to the floor to leave him bare in front of his love. He had several scars from the years when he was still human. Sword fighting with his brothers. Climbing the trees with his sister trailing behind him. Then there were the ones he refused to talk about even with Elena.

Elena stood up on her knees to make her way over to the edge of the bed. Her soft hands reached out to touch the scruff growing his face. With ease, she pulled his face towards her own. Her red stained lips pressed a passionate kiss on his lips. His arms wrapped around her small frame to hold her in close, as the two shared a kiss that had grew past just a passionate kiss. Her lips were intoxicating to him. He needed a kiss every day from her just to keep breathing.

As she started to move towards the center of the bed, he followed right behind her. Joined her in bed getting in on top of her. The red stain became a smear on both of their lips. He pulled his lips from hers to kiss her neck. Her hands moved along her lover's body. Scratching at his back to let the big bad man, she craved more than just his lips on her neck. She wanted her lover, she needed him.

With her speed and strength, Elena managed to gain the upper hand; her hands flat on his chest to keep him pinned to the bed. Her hair nearly blinded her view of when it fell to her sides, but it only created a personal bubble between the two lovers. Her lips fell on his again to press a searing kiss on his lips. Her tongue sliding into his mouth to play with his, to tease her love. If he wanted to drive her wild, she could do the same to him. Her lips descended from his to his neck. Peppered a few kisses on his neck until a playful nip marked her man only for a second until it disappeared. The man let out a chuckle when he felt her teeth against his skin; it was cute that she tried to mark her territory.

She looked down at him to look into his light, breathtaking eyes as she slid her hot wet core down on to his manhood. A moan of pleasure escaped her lips as a groan of ecstasy had passed through his lips. Her body slowly moved on top of him as if she was teasing him more, but she was really just wanting their time together last longer. Been too long since she had her love being sweet with her, and she would give anything to make it last the entire night. She just wanted her love, she did not want the king or the lord or whatever title he had given himself. She just wanted her one true love, Niklaus.

The entire group was pitching in to find out more about the cure. Damon was not just there getting drunk and making snide comments. Even Tyler was putting in some effort. Everybody had their own reasons for wanting to look for the only cure of the curse that had affected several members of their group, but only three people had plans on giving it to someone in the group.

Take down Klaus group with the cure consisted of Damon, Stefan, Tyler, and Alaric. Sure, Matt, Bonnie, and Jeremy wanted to get Klaus back. But with only one cure in the entire world that can only go to one person, the latter three were on Team Elena. Meaning they wanted to give the cure to me. The last faction of our friend group consisted of Caroline and me, but Rebekah was still on our team. The three of us wanted to give it to Rebekah so she could finally be human again. Something she had been wanting for centuries. The only common thread in our group was that we wanted to find the cure. It was the drive we all needed to put in the research. No one had told Klaus or Elijah.

I would have, except for a slight problem. I was talking to Klaus for two reasons. For the shit, he did the night before and for sending Elijah away. All he said in his dumb stupid British accent was "Oh don't worry, love. I just have my brother running a small errand. No need to worry your mind about that."

His stupid fucking accent! He was an ass with a capital A. First, he tells my whole friend group that I am carrying his child then he sends off Elijah on some stupid "errand". Hasn't come out of his room since the night before and I pray he doesn't for the rest of the day. I have other things to do besides listening to his comments or his little remarks he continued to make every single moment we were in the same room. Would rather listen to Caroline and Rebekah gossip than listen to yet another one of his comments.

"You know the cure would be better used on Klaus than on Rebekah." Damon cut the silence in the room with one of his famous snide comments that sounded like he was just trying to one-up someone.

"You do realize Elena never wanted to be a vampire, right? Or have you forgotten that Damon?" Bonnie spoke up for her faction.

"Both of you do realize Klaus would never take the cure and that I am not going to take the cure." I reminded them. "I can not and will not take the cure while I am pregnant. I have no idea what that would do to me or my child." I explained to Bonnie before turning my attention to Damon. "Klaus is stronger than all of us in this room. We don't have a chance of taking him down. Why don't we focus on finding this cure before we decide who we use it on or who gets to have it?"

"Are you sure your feelings in the right place, Elena?" Stefan questioned Elena. "You are too close to Klaus. I don't think you should be making any judgment calls."

"Stefan, just because you are blonde doesn't mean you have to act like a daft fool." Rebekah defended Elena. "Elena is more than capable of making her own decisions even when it comes to my brother. If you even try to use this cure on my brother, he will have three hearts on a trophy case and one baby original in a coffin."

"Elena is also right." Caroline spoke up. "We have no idea on what Elena's pregnancy will be like, do we want to force a cure into her body while she is carrying a hybrid child?"

"What about afterward?" Jeremy asked.

"After the baby is born, why doesn't Elena take the cure?" Bonnie finished Jeremy's thought.

"Maybe I don't want to." I told them. "I know back when everything was happening with the sacrifice, I said I never wanted to be a vampire, but I don't know anymore. It should be my choice whether to be human or to be a vampire."

"Elena…" Damon tried to apologize. I knew he was going to with that tone in his voice; realization mixed with just enough to empathy.

"I understand where we are all coming from, but we have to remember, there is only one cure and it isn't just like we can shove it down someone's throat." I told them while I was standing up from the couch where I had been sitting with Caroline.

"Where are you going?" Damon asked.

"I have plans. I will only be gone for a short while." I told them as I was packing up my bag.

"Do you need a ride?" Damon asked yet another question.

"No. Thank you for the offer. Rebekah is going to take me to meet with a friend." I informed the group.

I took a few steps towards Damon just to grab his attention for a moment.

"I know you mean well and you worry for my safety, but I am scared for your safety if you try to harm Klaus. It isn't because of my feelings for him, but my feelings towards you. I don't know what I would do without you. Please don't do anything that will end your life." I was pleading with him. I couldn't lose Damon after everything and everyone I had already lost. I still needed him.

"Elena, you won't lose me." Damon promised. "You won't lose any of us. I can promise you that."

"Okay lovers, we have to be going. Marcel only is letting you show up for a couple of hours." Rebekah spoke while she clapped her hands to gather my attention.

"I will be back soon. Just do some more research." I gave him a quick hug before I used my enhanced speed to be by Rebekah's side. "Let's get going then, Aunty Becky." I teased Rebekah.

"Aunt Bex." Rebekah corrected me while we were walking out to the driveway together. "If you ever try to get that kid to call me Becky, there will be hell to pay."

"Yes, ma'am." I laughed out with a salute to the bossy aunt.

"You know I was reading one of those pregnancy books." Rebekah made the comment as we were getting into her. "Are you on prenatal vitamins? Are you staying away from caffeine and raw fish? Have you found a doctor to deliver?"

"Yes. Yes. No," I answered her questions while buckling myself into the passenger seat. "I was just expecting Meredith to do it. Probably should call her first. I have had other things on my mind."

"Like the fact you love my brother?" What was this? Was she really integrating me?

"Other things, Rebekah." I gave her the short answer as I looked out the window.

"Bet you have." Rebekah commented under her breath as she started to drive them to a church.

"…and don't you just hate it when they just don't let you act your own age?" Davina asked.

"I do." I let out a soft laugh while I got comfortable on the loveseat in her room. "It is hard when the people you care about the most make you feel like you are just a little girl. But we both have to remember that they do it for their reasons. I am sure Marcel only wants to keep you safe."

"I know, I know." Davina sighed as she plopped down on her bed. "I wish I was a normal girl sometimes. I wish I wasn't some powerful witch. I just would like to go to school, hang out with normal people."

"Davina, you have no idea how much I feel the exact same way." Elena admitted to Davina. "I would like nothing more than to go back to how things were. I miss having a normal life before vampires, witches, werewolves, hybrids, and doppelgängers left the fiction world and entered my world. But at the same time, I wasn't happy. I mean, I was, but it felt like it wasn't enough for me. I wanted more."

"Do you regret staying in this sort of world?" Davina asked Elena.

"No. If I never did I would never have the most amazing people in my life. I would have never met my first love. I would have never seen the things and places I had. I would have probably ended being a wife before I graduated college and divorced in my mid-thirties. Do I wish certain people were still around? Yes. I would have loved to get to know my birth parents passed the relations I had with them. I would have loved for my parents to see all that I have done. I think mostly I wish my aunt was still here. She was an amazing woman, I always could confide in her about anything. I think Alaric, my, and ex-guardian, would be a lot happier if she was still around." I explained to Davina as I struggled to keep the tears back.

"I don't know what I would do without Marcel. He saved me from my own mother. A mother who was willing to kill me in the name of magic." Davina spoke about her past more than she had last time. "I hate his rules, but I know why they are in place. I just wish…"

"You could be a witchy/normal teenager?"

"Yeah." Davina nodded her head. "How did your friend deal with it?"

"She survived. Lives day by day. She is pretty kick ass. I think Bonnie and you would get along better than you and I do." I said with a small laugh in my voice. "She never had a full coven after her…yet. Even if she did, she would protect those who she loves before she would save herself. Both one of her best and worst qualities sometimes."

There were parts of me that knew Bonnie was just wanting to right the only thing magic could not fix, but she wasn't thinking about how I feel now. I want to not live in constant fear of being killed like I used to. Especially now with a baby on the way. I wanted to protect her or him. That was what I cared more about. I would miss being human, but I already knew my child would never be human or mortal.

"Marcel is the same way." Davina pulled me out of my head to join her in the now. "Most days he focuses more on everyone else rather than himself. It will be his downfall."

"You can't be too sure about that." I mentioned to her to comfort her.

"But it will be. I have seen so many visions of his selfless behavior being the downfall of him." Davina looked right into my eyes. "I have seen other visions as well, Elena. Klaus won't just be his own downfall, but that of your child's and your future. His selfish ways will end up hurting all those who he cares and loves the most eventually. I fear that he will be the destruction of your happiness."

The worry in my throat was hard to swallow down. I believed in what Davina was saying. That what scared me. That her visions would end up being the truth. What would happen to my child? To me?

"I don't care for gossip, ladies." Klaus's voice smirked from the doorway into Davina's room. When he tried to enter, he was thrown back by the warding spell that was placed on the door. "Smart move witchy. Now, let me in." Klaus demanded when he reappeared at the doorway.

"No." Davina snapped at Klaus as she crossed her arms over her chest. "Why should I?"

"I am only here to collect the woman that is carrying my unborn child." Klaus explained his rude behavior that time. "Now, warding down or I can throw something in here to make it break."

"Klaus!" I snapped at him as I stood up from the couch. I knew what he had in mind on how to break the warding. Throw something sharp and aim, something I had experienced first hand. "I will just leave."

"No." Davina exclaimed. "Elena, do not go with him. Did you not hear my warning?"

"I know I did, and I don't like the accusation little witch." Klaus answered. "Visions aren't always true. Especially with young, inexperienced and naïve witches such as you, Davina."

"Klaus, that is enough." I snapped at him yet again. "Davina, I will be safe." I assured her before I left her room to step out of the safe zone Davina had created for herself.

"I wouldn't have killed the witch." He said when he spotted the glare from me. "I would have just harmed her until she dropped the warding.

I walked right past him to go outside. I needed to get away from him. I was so sick of him being like that. I wished he was more like he used to be before I walked in on Caroline and him, but after we figured we needed to break the curse. That small time, it was perfect. He was sweet, for the most part. Caring even. Sort of like how he was in some of the dreams. Sure, not all the dreams were perfect, not all of them could them being in love. I knew some of them were based on memories. Others based on what we wanted. Then the TV, books or movies were some of the funniest. Klaus as Dean Winchester, now that would be funny to see in real life.

Rebekah's car was still outside the church, but she was likely to still be inside talking with Marcel. I figured the reason why they were talking because of Davina and I. Also, I may have read Rebekah's journal from her years in New Orleans, so I may know she was once in love with Marcel; going as far to call him the love of her life. I can't imagine how she feels about the fact that Marcel has been seeing Cami from the bar.

"Why is my sister still in there, and why can't I hear her?" Klaus questioned me about the questions he had wanted to ask his sister.

"What I know is that she is in there talking with Marcel about me. She is trying to get him to let me spend more time with Davina." I told him what Rebekah had told me. "The reason you can't hear them because of a spell Davina placed on all the areas of the church. No listening in unless the door is open."

"You can't spend any more time with Davina." Klaus ordered me. "She is too dangerous to be around. Did she tell you that she is a ticking time bomb?"

"She is only not going through with the spell because she does not want to die for those witches who are willing to kill innocent children!" I explained to him.

"Elena, you can not be around that child! What would happen to you if her magic started cause outbursts when you two were spending time together?"

I knew what would happen. End up getting hurt or worst. I knew he was right, but that didn't mean I liked that he was. Davina was so alone; I could not abandon her. She was an amazing and wonderful girl who also did not take shit from anyone. It was nice to be around someone who could understand how it felt to lose everyone. How it is to feel like everyone feels like you can not handle troubles to come.

"If you are going to stay, you can not see that girl." Klaus said as he pointed at the church with his right index finger. "You need to stay out of this battle. You are going to end up getting hurt. Just say safe in the house until this whole thing is over."

"I do not plan on staying." I informed him.

Sure, it was the truth. I had no plans to stay in New Orleans for too long. With my health regaining. No longer connected to a witch bitch. I wanted to go home to Mystic Falls. Just because Klaus knew of the pregnancy did not change any of plans. I still wanted to graduate. I still wanted to live my life…just slightly adjusted to what I was used to.

Klaus redirected his finger towards me for a moment. His thin lips parts to probably snap at me for wanting to leave, but it never came. That was due to his phone ringing in his pocket.

When he fished the phone from his pocket, I noticed the name in bright white letters, Cami. Since when was Klaus talking to her? Last time I knew they had spoken to one another was during the masquerade party. What would the two even have to talk about? I shouldn't be so shocked. Klaus did favor blondes.

As Klaus was answering the call, my attention was brought to the front door of the church that had opened for the female original. Thank god, I did not have to listen to Klaus's conversation. Went right to Rebekah's passenger side. I just wanted to get back my friends. At least they were not ordering me around…that time.

My eyes watched Klaus as his eyes widen at the surprise of his sister. Rebekah completely ignored her older brother to get into the car with me. For the first time in a long time. I felt close with Rebekah. We were both tired of being hurt and used by the same man we cared about. The sad fact for both of us, we knew we would always care even though we know he would never change for either of us. No matter how much I wished or pray for any sort of change to come out of the Mikaelson man. No matter how much I was in love with him.

I just wanted to give a heads up on what is going to be in the next chapter. It will be very long. When I say long expect either 10,000 words or more than that. Will have several different plot points that make sense to just happen in the same chapter. There will be a slight time jump as well because it just works. It will be in third person but mostly centered around Elena. Thank you so much for reading, I love being able to read your comments. If you Klaus and Elena as a couple I have another story called Mates, if you like love triangles (or squares) I have two stories Coming Home and Forgotten Magic. I have another story I am deciding whether or not to continue it. Anyways…thank you for the support.
