"Alec? Are you feeling okay?" Isabelle walked down the stairs meeting her brother at the door.

"I'm fine."

"Are you sure, you look awful." She reached forward, checking to see if Alec has a fever.

"Izzy. I'm. Fine." Alec pushed her hand away. "I just didn't sleep well last night."

Isabelle got quiet, "What did Magnus do?"

"Huh?" He looked at her surprised, "Why would you think Magnus did something?"

"Because, yesterday after school I was sitting in my room and I heard shouting. I figured it was mom and dad but when I walked into the hall to check Magnus stormed out of your room, slamming the door shut in the process." She paused to take a breath and Alec cut in before she could finish.

"Did Magnus say anything to you?"

"What, No. He looked at me and then ran down the hall to the stairs, I tried to follow him but he was keen on leaving. He didn't even bother shutting the front door, just ran to his car."

Alec looked away, "Come on, we need to go." He turned on his heels, quickly walking out the door to his car. His sister followed after him quickly, getting into the passenger's seat. "Where's Jace?"

"He's staying home, what happened with you and Magnus?" She asked as she buckled her seat belt.

"Why is Jace staying home?" Alec started backing out of the drive, ignoring his sister's question. "That doesn't matter Alec. What happened last night?"

Alec sighed loudly, realizing his sibling would never give up until she got answers. "Yesterday I asked him about his family. I'd never seen anyone at his house and I wanted to know why, but when I asked he closed off. I just wanted him to talk to me, I didn't mean to upset him. We ended up arguing and he stormed off."

Isabelle sat quiet for a minute, "He'll come around Alec. You just need to give him some time. Let him tell you when he's ready."

Alec nodded and stopped the car, getting out quickly. They didn't live far from school so they got there fairly soon. "Do you want me to stay with you until the bell rings?"

The elder sibling looked back at his sister, whom was now standing by the car door. "No, I'm fine." He smiled a bit before locking his car and walking into the school.

Alec ignored his boyfriend before the bell rang. It wasn't that he was still angry at him, okay maybe a little bit. But what that so wrong? Magnus is his boyfriend for Angles sake, and he should be able to tell him about his family without a fight breaking out.

Alec even avoided looking at him, afraid he'd be faced with fiery eyes glaring at him. Or worse, miserable eyes. Alec definitely didn't want the latter, he wouldn't be able to stand his ground if Magnus was openly sad, knowing he caused it.

During his first class with Magnus he was able to focus on his lesson, not having a break where Manus might be able to talk to him. Then during lunch Alec quickly went to sit next to Isabelle, refusing to look over at his boyfriend's table. After lunch was over he rushed to Chemistry so he wouldn't run into a certain someone in the halls.

Chemistry went the same as his first class with Magnus and at the end he was able to leave without saying anything to him. He dragged through his next class, not paying attention because his mind was too busy wondering what could've happened to Magnus' parents that is so bad he feels the need to keep it a secret. Who really needed to listen during Trigonometry anyway?

P.E. was an entirely different story though. Without Jace there with Alec he was alone. With Magnus. So, Alec dressed as quick as he could and hurried outside. Magnus was close behind, wanting to talk to him before any other students made it outside.

"Alec?" Magnus asked cautiously.

Alec tensed momentarily, then turned to face him, his arms crossed. "Yes?"

"Why're you avoiding me?"

"Why? Really Magnus? Do you not recall what happened yesterday?"

Magnus bit his bottom lip, "I do but I.. I just thought it would've, passed?"

"Passed?!" Alec quickly became angry, "You all but yelled at me then slammed my bedroom door, ignoring my little sister as she tried to case after you, and you thought it would've passed!"

Magnus winced quietly and looked down, keeping silent. "Look, Magnus, I get that whatever happened must have been hard for you, and I know we haven't been together long but I just wish you would trust me enough to tell me what happened."

The taller of the two looked up to respond but before he could the rest of the students came outside to begin class. Alec turned away from him and walked off after the class, ignoring the sad look from his boyfriend.

The next day continued the same way, minus that talk in gym since Jace was back at school. Alec asked him why he stayed home to which he responded with, "I was sick" no doubt a lie but Alec let it go anyway. Truly Alec was beginning to feel bad for what happened. He slowly started realizing the fight they had was mostly his fault. He planned to apologize but after the bell rang he couldn't find Magnus and his car was gone when he looked for it.

Back at him Alec went up to his room, only coming down once to eat dinner. A bit later Max came in asking to hang out with his brother. Alec was going to say no but he decided against it, he wasn't doing anything and his little brother had been left out recently.

The two sat in Alec's bed, Max showing him his new Manga and explaining what it was about. They continued like this for about an hour when their mom came in, telling Max it's time for bed.

Lying in bed Alec thought about how he was going to tell Magnus that he's sorry. He must've laid there for hours when he heard tapping on his window, startling him. He slowly got out of bed, making his way to the window on the far wall. He pulled the curtain back and slowly opened the window. "W-Who i-is it?"

Alec jumped back when someone pulled themselves up, falling through the gap onto his floor. The person groaned softly and rolled on his back, looking up. "Magnus?"
