I'm sorry to say that I've been super busy with everything so I haven't had a chance to update anything, but I am trying to make time to work on everything. Thank you to anyone that has been following my sporadic work.
I own nothing.
Last time
"Oh no you don't. You just sit back and relax, she'll find out soon enough, and when she does I'll give her a proper warning. Until then why don't we go back to discussing what should be done with this hole in my uniform."
Without needing any other approval Logan has her pined to the wall his mouth claiming hers in a battle of tongues for who will remain dominant.
This time
The echo of footsteps broke the two apart long enough for Kagome to pull Logan into one of the side training rooms, with a smile she pushes him against the wall and resumes their lip lock. The footsteps stop just outside the door and they hear the voice curse about how their plan didn't work.
Both Logan and Kagome pause to hear the voice better, Kagome looks at Logan, "Is that Professor Gray?"
He growls, "Yes, and she better not be talking about what I think she's talking about."
"I don't understand why she would do that."
"Where is she?" Jean asks herself from the other side of the door, oblivious to the two in the other room.
The door to the locker room opens and Kitty and Rouge come out, both pause seeing the professor in the hall, "Hey Professor Gray, do you need something?"
"Yes, have either of you seen Kagome? I need to speak with her."
They look at each other, then Rouge speaks up, "We haven't seen her since the danger room, she seemed upset so I figured she just went somewhere to train. Would you like us to tell her that you're looking for her when we see her next?"
Jean frowns, "No, its fine, I'm sure I'll catch her around." With that she walks off back down the hall.
Rouge and Kitty look at each other again, "I don't think that that's a good thing." Kitty says looking down the hall were the professor went.
"Yeah, I don't either, we should probably warn Kagome."
Both jump when the door across from them open, "Yeah, a warning won't be necessary." Kagome and Logan come out of the room both looking angry.
"Oh my God." Rouge looks at them surprised as she mentally puts the pieces together. "She's upset because there really is something happening, isn't there?"
Kagome looks at Logan then back at the girls, "Yes, there is."
Kitty looks between them now too, "Oh my God. I mean he's so, and you're so."
"Yeah, we got it. She's young and I'm old, thanks Kitty." Logan shakes his head as Kagome smiles, "And you two better keep your traps shut about it."
"Aw, come on, I'm sure whatever she was saying it had nothing to do with your age, old man."
"Keep crackin jokes kid, we'll see who has the last laugh."
Kagome smiles and pushes on his shoulder, "Yeah, whatever, I'm going to take a shower and change, I'll see you both at lunch, we can talk about our after school shopping trip."
Logan gives her one last smile as she walks into the locker room before he shakes his head, "I'm going to talk to Charles and see what he has to say about this. But I mean it don't go running your mouths about this, it's bad enough that they both think they know. It's her choice when she wants to say something about it, got it?"
Both girls nod, "Got it" he starts walking away when Rouge touches his arm, "But if it means anything, I'm glad you're happy Logan."
"Thanks Rouge, it does mean something." With that he walks away.
Once upstairs he heads to Professor Xavier's office but before he could make it their Jean intercepted him.
"Hey, Logan, can we talk? We haven't really had the chance since you came back." She lightly touches his arm, letting her hand run over the leather of his sleeve.
"Yeah, to be honest I've been too busy getting shit from your boyfriend and helping to train Kagome to do much else."
"Well if you want I can take over for Kagome, it may do her some good to have a woman looking out for her."
He takes a deep breath and looks at her, "Yeah, I'll talk to Charles about it." He walks around her to continue to the office not sparing her another look. Once there he knocks on door and waits for the voice to tell him to enter. Walking in he closes the door behind him and strides over to the desk.
Professor Xavier turns around from the window to face him, "I understand what happened in the danger room was no accident, I am looking for a punishment for what she did. However it's your blind protectiveness and worry that I am truly concerned about. If Kagome were to go on missions with the team would you be able to put those feelings aside long enough to complete the task at hand? These are questions you must ask yourself. You have built a bond and the bases for a relationship with someone who is very much your junior so that is to cause some ill attitudes towards the idea. But at the end of the day you are right in the fact that it is Kagome and your choice weather not you continue on this path and where the path leads. I see nothing wrong in the relationship, as long as none of the students catch you like this morning again, I only want you to both be happy and that seems to be a together thing for you. I do just want you to understand that those two particular people will not be happy about it, in any way, but you both can feel free to speak with me about it at any time. I'm not going to force you apart, especially for people that are not included in the relationship, just don't start any fights about it is all I ask."
Logan nods and heads back to the door, "Thanks Charles."
Professor X nods back, "Anytime Logan, also I'll talk to Jean about her offer for Kagome. Even if there were nothing between you two, based on mutations alone Jean is no match for Kagome. It would be like Scott trying to give you a behaviors lesson, it would only end badly."
Logan smirks, "I hear that." as he opens the door and walks out, heading upstairs to change.
Kagome is in the kitchen watching Rouge cook as Kitty talks about this cute outfit she wants to get, she looks up when Logan walks in but doesn't say anything.
Kitty looks at Kagome, "So I heard they found your family."
Logan scoffs, "What'd I tell you about that?"
Kitty looks at him and frowns, "It wasn't from you I swear, Professor Scott and Professor Jean were talking about it before math class after he mentioned that you both left."
Logan growls, "That's why we left."
"Yeah, I wanted to talk about our options and I didn't want to be at school."
"So did you decide? Are you going to go home?"
"To be honest, this is the first home I've had in years and I don't have to hide what I am." She looks at Logan with a sad smile, "Don't get me wrong I do want to meet them and all but I think I just want us to go when school is on holiday. That way I can still get an education and if they don't accept me it's no big deal."
"They're going to accept you kid." Logan steps over and touches her shoulder, "If not they're gonna have to deal with me."
She looks up at him, "Thank you."
"No problem kid."
"So." Kitty starts up again, "Are you going to come shopping with us, Logan?"
"No way in Hell." "Yes, he is."
He and Kagome look at each other as Logan growls, "No, I ain't."
Kagome just shrugs, "Fine, I guess I'm not changing my wardrobe after all."
He growls again as she smiles, "Fine, but if I'm going Peter and Bobby are going too."
At that moment Peter and Bobby walk in, "Where ae we going?"
Logan looks at them and smirks as he puts a cigar in his mouth, "Shopping." He lights the tip and takes a big puff while giving the boys a look that says to challenge his word.
Bobby finally shrugs, "That's cool, a new game I wanted just came out, so I could pick that up while we're there."
Kagome just shakes her head at how easy it was to get them to agree, wiggling her nose she stands up and looks at Logan. Without too much thought she reaches over and takes his cigar, "I don't know how you can do something with a scent so strong."
"It's easy," he takes it back, "I've been doing it for decades."
She shakes her head and walks out of the room, "It hurts my nose."
Rouge laughs as Logan grumbles and puts it out in his hand before following Kagome out. He finds her out on the back patio overlooking the lawn, just taking in the sunshine.
"You didn't have to stop Logan, I was just saying that I didn't like it."
"I know I didn't have to but that's why I did."
She turns to look at him, "I don't understand."
He glances at her before looking back at the lawn, "You didn't tell me to stop because it made me happy, but you didn't like it, so I stopped anyway. To be honest if I had to pick between you or the cigars, I pick you. I think that that's kind of what love is."
"But I don't want to change who you are, that doesn't seem right, you said you've been smoking them for decades so they are more apart of you then I am. I mean they're written in your scent I'm just not accustom to how strong they actually are." She tilts her head thinking, "Maybe until I become accustom to them you just smoke where there is airflow, that way I can get used to it."
Logan looks at her and smiles, "I would like that."
"Good."
Unbeknownst to them they were being watched by a redheaded figure upstairs trying to formulate a plan to get them away from one another.
"So, when is the next holiday?"
"I think Thanksgiving, then Christmas and New Year's share a break."
"How long is the Thanksgiving break?"
"That you're going to have to ask someone else."
Kagome shrugs, "Okay, I'm going to ask Rouge then. Lunch should be about ready anyway." She turns to go inside. "Are you coming?"
"I'll be in in a minute, Kagome."
"Okay." Walking down the hallway she runs right into Jean, "Oh, sorry Professor Gray, I wasn't paying attention."
"I understand, Kagome, you just have a lot on your mind don't you."
"Um, yes, I guess."
"So, have you decided if you're going to go home or not. I mean they've been searching for you for twelve years, I know if I had a daughter who was kidnapped then she was alive and well and didn't come home to see me first hand I would be really heartbroken. Do you know what else I would be heartbroken about?"
Kagome gets a confused look, "No."
"I'd be heartbroken if she didn't come home by herself, if she brought a man with her. Do you know what that would say to me, as a mother? That my daughter, my flesh and blood was too busy with some stranger to come home to see me. Oh the questions that would be asked, it would get pretty out there. And could you imagine, if my daughter was sleeping with that man, that man so much older than her. She would have to choose, that man or our family."
Kagome gets a sad look on her face, "You know you're so right Professor how could I have not seen it before, that's being ridiculously unfair and stupid of me. But do you know what else is ridiculous and stupid? A grown woman getting so upset at a younger one over a man that she has never and is never going to be with. I know I'm taking away his attention from you but he's my mentor and correct me if I'm wrong but you've been engaged to Professor Scott for forever, your ship has sailed. Now what's the phrase Kitty said the other day? Oh that's right. You can't have your cake and eat it to. Now was your petty jealously the only thing you wanted to discuss with me or would you like to talk about the danger room session?" seeing the look of shock on Jeans face she continues, "Logan's not the only one around here who can follow a scent. And you and Professor Scott should really stop trying to catch us doing anything, you do both have your own personal lives you could be dealing with. Maybe then you'll both be more relaxed." Kagome smiles and starts walking back down the hallway, "Thanks for the talk, I'll see you in class Professor."
Yay! Another chapter up.
I'm so excited I'm on a break from school so I finally have time to work on things. I'm going to try to update as much and as many as possible so fingers crossed.
Anyway you know what to do RR&R
