Today is a good day. My mind is not plagued by haunting memories of Amethyst's death or the torture sessions I had to go through. Today also put a smile on my face because it is my Shushu Monkey's birthday. He always managed to make me smile. When mama saw the smile on my face it was as if a weight lifted off of her. If only she knew. "You are in a happy mood today. Any special reason?" I looked at Guma Viper. My smile broadened slightly. "Today is Shushu Monkey's birthday!" She nodded. "Yes it is. That is why we are going to have his favorite meal today. Your father's bean buns smothered with honey. Does that sound good to you?" I nodded with some enthusiasm.
