Voices started disrupting my slumber. I pulled the blanket over my head and squeezed my eyes shut hoping that the noises would die down so I could keep sleeping. The thought of wanting to keep sleeping made me realise one thing. I was sleeping. I moved my hands around to feel what I was laying on. Felt like a bed. Was it my bed? Did I go back to my hotel room? I remember dreaming about it. But then again, was that a dream or did I really go back to my room? If I did, then why are there noises?

"If you keep sleeping, you won't be able to have time for exploring today."

I was automatically awake by that voice. I did not go back to my hotel room and this was not my bed. I sat up rigidly causing the blanket to fall to my lap. Looking beside me, I saw that the other end of the bed was unmade which meant that Tom slept beside me. "I didn't go back to my room," I muttered.

"You fell asleep just after midnight and slept like a rock even when I brought you to the bed," Tom appeared beside me with a tray of breakfast.

I responded to him with a sigh and took the tray off him. I was so hungry even considering that I had my own share of pizza the night before. I frankly did not want to think about what to do with Tom or even just getting out of this room seemed like a rather huge task to do especially before breakfast was consumed.

Thus I sluggishly ate my omelette, strawberries and buttered toast without a care in the world about Tom sitting right beside me eating his. It was peaceful and everything was still except our eating. Was this how it was every morning with him? Just being content with breakfast and being next to the love of your life?

"Right, thanks for the breakfast but I gotta go and start exploring," I told him and moved out of the blankets that I previously used as a cocoon.

"I have a suggestion," Tom said as he placed his empty tray onto the table near the bed. He then grabbed the napkin from the tray to wipe his mouth before gently putting it back. Taking a big breath, he looked back at me. "I'd like to help you remember the things that you have forgotten minus the romance because, you know," he gestured with his hands. "We can start here in New York. I remember every place and almost every conversation we had. Maybe re-enacting these moment will trigger something in there."

My eyes darted to the window adjacent to us. I could not see much except part of high-rise buildings but I could already guess that there were a lot of people bustling through the streets down below. That would be the best option and it would help me change my perspective about Tom. I crossed my arms across my chest and nodded, "Come to my room in half an hour. I'm sure you already know my door number," and turned to leave while my head tried to deny the excitement that this day can hold.

"I do."

"Ma'am, your life jacket."

I took the bloated, bright jacket off the tour guide and looked at Tom who stood beside me with a certain smile on his face. If anything, I did not think he would take me on a boat ride around the city. I really did think that we were doing high-class things such as dining at the most expensive restaurant while overlooking the city or shopping at a massive mall. "We're going on a boat," I said as if it was not an obvious thing.

"Yes, but not any boat."

Before I had a chance to ask what he meant by that, the tour guide led us to the wharf where a jet boat was gently floating beside the wharf.

"This is the jet boat we will be riding in and exploring different parts including the islands such as Staten Island,' the tour guide explained.

I gasped and followed the tour guide into the boat. It was shaky and hard to balance but my feet got the hang of it in a manner of a few seconds. I sat towards the back of the boat and leaned over the edge to see the dark blue sea below. There was something about the sea I love, maybe it was due to the fact that I grew up near the beach and it was the place I never left during summer. Tom sat beside me and looked around to take in the scene before settling back to focusing on the tour guide.

"This," the tour guide tapped on the steering wheel. "Is my personal jet boat. She has taken me far and wide around here and never broke down on me. She however loves to drink a lot of petrol," he chuckled. "Her name is actually written of the opposite side of the boat which you can't see because of the way it's parked. Her name is -,"

"Summerwind," I said then whipped my head to Tom and with wide eyes I gaped at him.

"You remember?" Tom asked. His face had lightened up due to the grin that was now plastered on his face.

I wanted to tell him that I did. That absolutely everything had suddenly rushed into my head and he was the greatest person on the planet. That he was such a good man to me. I also hoped that the rush of all those forgotten memories would change me as a person, but it didn't and I don't remember everything. "I only remember the boat's name," I told him. I did try to think hard of all the other things I could remember with this trip, well at least the boat trip but that was all I could remember.

Surprisingly the grin was still plastered on his face. He just squeezed my shoulder, "We're one step closer to retrieving all your memories."

I felt quite comfortable with that fact, that I was closer to remembering everything. I think I was more comfortable with the fact that I was attempting to remember everything with Tom and this time not managing to lie to him for anyone's sake.

Not long after the mysterious event of having my mind remember just the boat's name, we took off in the speeding jet boat in which I was so distracted by the sea water spraying all around us and the incredible speed travelling to the islands that were close by. We passed by a few islands that the tour guide took a few minutes to talk about what they were known for and the culture in the islands compared with the culture in New York City itself. After seeing the islands, the jet boat sped off into little loops to get our adrenaline running. The sea sprayed in various directions which included spraying all over us. Tom's hair was soaking wet compared to mine which was partly wet thanks to my thick hair I got from my dad's side.

We emerged out of the jet boat soaking wet minus our bottom half of our bodies. My bottom was aching from the ridiculous amount of times I was bouncing on my seat from the boat thrusting into the air due to the speed and choppy surface of the sea.

"That was excellent, thank you," Tom grinned and shook the tour guides hand.

I followed Tom back out of the wharf with my teeth chattering and my torso shivering. New York was not as cold as London was but the wind has picked up making it feel like it was snowing. A small section of my hair fell forward over my face and generated some sort of imaginary heat so I let the hair hang over my face as I hurried behind Tom hoping that his private car was out the front already with the heater on.

The car was there and the driver was waiting with two white towels for the both of us. Tom took both of them and hung one around his neck then turned to me and wrapped it over my back and across my chest. He then pulled me close to a hug with his arms wrapped around me. It was happiness and gratefulness by itself, to feel this immediate heat after feeling so cold. I buried my face into his chest and let out a sigh.

He let go when I stopped shivering which did not take long as Tom was a human being that had too much heat within him. "You okay now?"

I nodded and dipped my head low to have my lips hidden under the towel to conceal the smile that was painted on my jaw.

We climbed into the car and Tom told the driver to go back to the hotel.

As I watched the city pass by through the tinted window, I felt a trickle of water from my hair slide down my cheek, down my neck before stopping in the hollow part of my collarbone. I shivered but it was not from the cold. My insides froze when I glanced at Tom who no doubt watched the water drip down to my collarbone. Quickly glancing away, I felt my body heat up very quickly not entirely due to Tom but something else that was itching into my mind. Shutting my eyes, my mind started to show images that caused my body heat up more.

"That was so great!" I grinned at Tom who was walking beside me to the car.

We were both dripping wet from the jet boat and it was a gorgeous summer day, which made the entire experience of being wet from the boat ride more relaxing from the heat of the sun.

"I'm glad you enjoyed it," he smiled.

"And I'm glad you surprised me with a ticket to be here in New York, how did you know I liked travelling?" I giggled and wrapped my arm around his.

"I think just by the fact that you moved from a country that is so far from the rest of the world to a country that is closer to other parts of the world which just clearly shows that you love travelling."

"You know me so well," I hugged him and planted a kiss on his temple.

We climbed into the car and greeted the driver. Leaning back, I watched the city as we drove down to the hotel through the tinted window. I felt a water droplet trickled down my forehead, down my neck and disappearing down my shirt. I shivered by the sensation and smiled at Tom who stared at me as if he was mesmerised. I felt my body heat up from his piercing eyes that were locked onto my neck. My lips were slightly parted as I gazed back at him, fully enchanted by the moment and by him.

Tom licked his bottom lip and his gaze went back to my eyes, "Come here," and pulled me by my arms to bring me to him. Without another second of waiting, his lips merged with mine and hungrily kissed me with his hand behind my head to deepen the kiss.

I wrapped my arms around his neck and shoulder and pulled myself closer to him until our chests were glued together. I felt every single muscle in his chest moving as we kissed.

His hand roughly slid down to my hips and under my soaked shirt where he squeezed my hips causing me to moan in the kiss and push myself onto him. He was leaning back on the seat with me collapsing over him. His hand moved from my hips down to my stomach where he drew lines making me giggle. Breaking the kiss I pushed myself away from him and looked longingly into his eyes. His lips transitioned to a smirk and his fingers glided from my stomach down to my pelvis. They then dipped an inch into my pants and pulled my pants towards him causing me to fall back on him.

He kissed my neck then brought his lips to my ear, "Should we be naughty here?"

I turned my head to see the tinted window and I was brought back to the reality of being in the car. I felt the presence of the driver in front of us. I was too bashful to turn and see the driver and how awkward he must have felt. "I don't know," I whispered.

He chuckled and whispered back, "He only thinks we're kissing."

"Only thinks?" I questioned.

He answered a moment later when he continued to kiss me and slid his hand deeper until he reached into my underwear and stopped in between my legs. Pulling away, he watched me for a moment looking amused, "Promise to be quiet?" he whispered.

My focus and attention was on the heat that vibrated throughout my body and the tingling sensation in between my legs. I closed my eyes shut and nodded while slowly letting the anticipation kill me.

"Lara?"

I snapped back into reality and whipped my head to Tom who was leaning towards me in a concerned way. "Yes?" I gulped.

"You okay? You didn't respond when I was talking to you."

"Yeah, I just zoned out," I shrugged and looked back out the window to avoid his gaze until the electric feeling that was causing heat within my body stopped reacting to him and cool down.

"Your face is flushing though, did you need water or some cool air?"

"No, I'm good," I reassured him. His eyes still held the same concern so I sighed and decided that maybe he should know what had just happened. "I remembered something else. We went on the jet boat like today."

"And?"

"And I was thanking you for bringing me here, it was a nice thing you did for me."

"Does that mean you remember the whole day along with the jet boat adventure? Or is it just the jet boat adventure?"

"I don't remember being in the jet boat, only getting out and thanking you for it," I said rather quickly. I would have felt awkward telling him the intimate details of the ride to the hotel and I thought it would not have made too much of a difference if I remembered or not.

"Right, it just seemed like you were out of it for awhile so I thought you remembered a whole day of adventures," he looked out the window with a small smirk on his face. "And your face transitioned to a red colour so I assumed-,"

"How long until we get to the hotel? I'm freezing," I interrupted him.

He chuckled, "Not long now."

I guess Lara remembering a lost memory did take a slight turn. Hoping you all are okay with a bit of naughtiness.

I fail at replying to reviews so I'll reply here. Thank for the past and present reviews and thank you for complimenting on the way I write, believe me I struggle at times. I know you all are waiting for a cute moment between the two but I hope it will all come in time. I know what the end product is with this story but sometimes I take a wild turn and change things. To Georgie, Yes, this story started about two years ago but I am 'regularly' updating and to the guest review, I'm not sure if you're sending your love to me or the story or both of us but thank you.
