I just love doing stupid things to intelligent people.

"I'm not going to change the way I look or the way I feel to conform to anything. I've always been a freak. So I've been a freak all my life and I have to live with that, you know. I'm one of those people." -John Lennon

Three days had passed since Ryuuzaki had last spoken to his prisoner-made-friend. At first, this "silent treatment" had been something of a godsend to the emotionally drained Light; he had all but rejoiced when a rather flustered L declared that he "would not talk to Yagami-kun again until he apologized."

But soon enough, Light had grown discouraged. He hadn't noticed, but the silence that occupied the room was frightfully stifling. Matsuda was too freaked out to talk about it, and even the raucous and quarrelsome Aizawa was intimidated. Mogi looked half a way ready to pee himself. It seemed only Ryuuzaki was unfazed by the sudden bout of silence.

As a matter of fact, he looked as content as a person could be--nibbling on a cookie and staring blankly at the computer screen.

"Freak," Light didn't hear himself mumble as he dejectedly crossed his arms. He didn't want to admit it, but he wanted Ryuuzaki to speak to him.

Ryuuzaki merely blinked, and with two clicks of a mouse, resumed back to his work with a surreptitious grin. Light managed to catch a glimpse of it before he was bombarded by funk.

"She's a very kinky girl
The kind you don't take home to mother
She will never let your spirits down
Once you get her off the streets, ow, girl!"

Light stared, too stupefied for words; until: "What the hell? Why do you even have this song?"

L didn't respond, he only turned the music up louder. Light blanched. And then:

"She's all right, she's all right
That girl's all right with me, yeah
She's a super freak, super freak
She's super-freaky, yow!"

Light was unsure if he should dance or scream. He had to admit, the beat was nice, and Rick James had always had a fabulous voice--but L was playing this song! To him! The teen groaned, smacking a hand to his forehead in exasperation.

"L, stop!"

L pointedly ignored Light and tapped his foot to the beat. Soon enough, the teen noticed that the entire force (sans himself) were doing their own little spasms and shakes. Apparently he was the only one who had retained any form of sanity.

And apparently, music does make you lose control.

As Soichiro broke out in a flurry of pelvic thrusts, Light Yagami decided that he had enough. There were boundaries and they have been crossed, leaving him more than a little uncomfortable. So he slapped a hand on the table, fixing L an irritated cough.

Ryuuzaki didn't turn to him, but allowed Light the courtesy of lowered sexual innuendos.

"Listen, Ryuuzaki, I, er, I'm," he garbled the other have of his sentence into a huge puddle of letters, so that it sounded more like "rlysgajkfald."

L raised an eyebrow, but didn't acknowledge it any further. Light sighed, blinking as Aizawa did the worm.

"I, I, I'm sorry!" Light raked a shaky hand to his hair, combing it gently to relax his nerves. Ryuuzaki smirked.

"Apology accepted, Light-kun." With that, L ended the songs existence within a second. "Now, what have you learned?"

Light blinked, giving a helpless shrug. "Always say that you're sorry?" L shook his head.

"Try again."

Light bristled. "Never tell a freak he's a freak?"

"You could say that." Ryuuzaki gave a disappointed shrug. Light twitched.

"What was it, then?"

Ryuuzaki turned to Light and gave him a coy smile. "I'm a super freak."
