Chapter 11: The Return

Megaship

"We are orbiting Earth, Karone." DECA announced.

"Great." Karone deadpanned. "Alert TJ and let tell him to find a secure place where we can teleport and report back to me."

"Affirmative." DECA responded.

Karone paced beside Andros's bed in the med bay. "What is going on with you?"

"Ashley."

Karone stopped and grabbed Andros's hand when she heard his voice. "Andros?"

Andros's eyes fluttered open and he frowned. "It was real."

"What was?"

"I think I saw a glimpse of my future with Ashley." He reached in his pocket and pulled out the necklace. "Ow!"

"What wrong?"

"It's not my pain. It's Ashley. Don't worry." He added with a smile before she could get too worried. "Everything's gonna be okay."

"Karone, they're ready. I can teleport the two of you now." The AI stated.

Karone sighed. "Are you ready for this?"

"I've never been more ready for anything in my life."

She nodded. "I'll get the antivirus." She went to the storage cabinet in the med bay and retrieved the antivirus.

Andros looked at his sister. "We're ready DECA."

Earth

The doctor had just finished wrapping the gauze around Ashley's hand when another nurse came in. "The antivirus is here, doctor. Ava is being prepped now. We need you there to administer it."

"Clean the rest of this up." The doctor called to the other nurse in the room and followed the first nurse to Ava.

"How did you know?" Cassie whispered to Ashley.

"We're connected remember?" She smiled and looked at Zhane. "I need to see him now."

Zhane nodded. "Let's go."

Waiting Room

Karone handed the antivirus to the waiting nurse as soon as she and Andros appeared in the room.

Silence engulfed the room when the nurse left. Andros couldn't help but feel self conscious because he knew they were waiting on him to say something.

"Guys, he's not a ghost." Karone stepped forward. "Say something."

"Sorry," Carlos spoke. "This is just unreal."

"Tell me about it." Andros sighed.

Carlos smiled and pulled Andros into a one armed hug. "Welcome back, man."

Andros relaxed. "Good to be back." He stated when Carlos released him.

"Where the hell have you been?" TJ asked lightheartedly as he took Carlos's place.

"Long story." Andros smiled. "I'll be sure to explain it to you guys later."

"Hi." Kate waved nervously. "We met like once."

"I remember." Andros assured her and turned to Carlos and TJ. "I need to see…" Everything seemed to stop when the waiting room door slid open.

She'd felt him before they opened the door. Andros turned around and their eyes met for the first time in over a year. He was surprised he was still able to walk as he slowly moved towards her.

When he was finally standing in front of her, she slowly slid her hands up his arms to his shoulders and then cupped his face in her hands. She couldn't hold back any longer.

Ashley burst into tears. "Oh god." She threw her arms around his neck and clung to him.

She held him so tightly that Andros could barely breathe and he didn't care because he held onto her just as strongly.

Ashley only shifted enough so that she could press her lips to his. When they finally came up for air and loosened their grip on each other, Ashley wanted to say so much to him, but only one word would come. "Hey."

Andros laughed as tears ran down his face. "Hey." He kissed her again.

Zhane gestured to the others and moved towards the door. He'd wanted to talk to Andros too, but he knew that Ashley and Andros needed time alone. The others quietly left the waiting room closing the door behind them. Ashley and Andros didn't notice.

Ashley smiled. "I've missed you so much." She held him tighter. "Don't let go."

"Wouldn't dream of it." He kissed to side of her neck then moved to her lips. Ashley tilted her head deepening the kiss. Andros groaned when Ashley's thoughts filled his head. He gently broke their kiss. "Here?" He whispered. "Now?"

"Yes." Ashley eyed him with need.

Andros grinned mischievously. "What if someone comes in?"

Ashley returned his grin. "I don't really care and neither do you." She pushed him into a chair and straddled him claiming his lips again.

She was right Andros didn't care if anyone walked in, partially because he'd telekinetically locked the door. All that mattered right now was being with Ashley.

Hospital Outdoor Patio

"I still can't believe he's back." Carlos stated as he sat in a patio chair with Cassie in his lap.

"It's a miracle." Cassie commented. "I'm still in awe."

"I can't believe we left them alone in a room together." TJ stated.

"TJ!" Kate hit his shoulder. "We're in a hospital. I know they're really happy to see each other, but come on."

"You don't know Andros and Ashley that well babe." TJ countered. "It wouldn't be the first time they had sex in a medical facility."

"Leave them alone TJ." Carlos smiled. "They haven't seen each other in over a year. What they do behind closed doors is their business."

"Okay, but if they get kicked out of the hospital, we'll all know why." TJ argued, the others laughed despite themselves.

"Hey!" Cassie called suddenly. "Where'd Zhane and Karone go?"

TJ chuckled. "Probably to find a room of their own."

Zhane and Karone

"You didn't have to come with me." Karone stated bashfully. She'd been all for telling Zhane how she felt before, but now, she was starting to get nervous.

"I wanted to." Zhane stated as he followed Karone down the corridors of the Megaship.

"I just need to get a few things from my room and send the Megaship to Taurus."

"Taurus? What's there?" Zhane asked curiously.

"Long story." Karone sighed. "It'll be better if Andros tells what happened." She opened the door to her room and grabbed a duffel bag from the closet and began packing things. She could feel Zhane's eyes on her.

"I never stopped thinking about you." Zhane suddenly stated.

"Even when you were with Ashley?" Karone regretted the words even as they left her mouth. "I'm sorry. I-"

"No, you deserve to know the truth." He lowered himself to the ground and sat with his back against the wall. "When you shut yourself off from me, I turned to Ashley because I needed to feel something. Even if it was just friendship"

Karone mimicked his position.

"When you left, I big part of me went with you." He looked at Karone. "And it hurt, more than you know."

Karone could feel the tears sting her eyes.

"I turned to Ashley, because she was the only one who knew what I was going through. Of course she thought Andros was dead, and I thought that I would never see you again, but everything changed when I knew you were coming back."

Karone stared in shock. Somehow she'd managed to convince herself that the only reason Zhane wanted her now was because Ashley was going back to Andros. "What do you mean?" She needed to hear him say it.

"Ashley and I both agreed that I should tell you how I felt as soon as you got here. I still want-"

"I love you." Karone threw herself into his arms. "I love you so much. I am so sorry for everything."

"I love you too." Zhane held her and felt the last barrier between them fall. "Marry me."

Hospital Waiting Room

Ashley finished buttoning her shirt as Andros finished tucking his in. She looked at him and grinned. "Welcome back."

Andros laughed. "Thanks…for everything." He sat down next to her again.

"Oh it was my pleasure." She laid her head in his shoulder and wrapped her arms around his waist. "What happened to you?" She'd noticed the new scars he'd acquired since she'd last seen him and needed to know where he'd been all this time.

He wrapped an arm around her shoulders. "Well, you know the Voyager exploded. Somehow I managed to make it onto an escape vessel. I landed on the planet Taurus with no memory of anything before that."

Ashley frowned. "I kept trying to accept that you were gone, but there was this presence in my head, it was familiar and strange at the same time. It was you, wasn't it?"

"I think so, because I felt you too. I didn't know who you were exactly, but I knew we were connected." He kissed her forehead and continued. "This family found me: Zavier, Sondria, and Trenton Slade. They nursed me back to health and made me a part of their family."

She knew what he was trying to say. "You miss them."

"Karone's sending the Megaship to bring them here." He felt her anxiety. "Stop." He turned towards her and cupped her face in his hand. "No one's taking me away from you again. You have to believe that."

"What if they think I'm taking you from them?"

He kissed her. "Wait until you meet them. Karone was worried at first too, until she talked to Sondria." He smiled. "Now she can't wait for them to get here. Can you give them a chance?"

Ashley relaxed a little. "They took care of you and you trust them." She sighed. "That's enough for me."

He kissed her again. "I love you." He took her hands in his and finally noticed the bandage. "What happened?"

Ashley looked at her hand. "I cut it on some glass right before I came here and right after this dream I had."

"You saw it too?"

"We had the same dream?"

"I think so, but I don't think it was just a dream."

Ashley closed her eyes and shook her head. "But in the dream I had my-" She suddenly stopped when she opened her eyes and saw what was dangling from Andros's hand. "My necklace."

Andros smiled. "Third time's the charm, right?"

Ashley turned and lifted her hair off her neck as Andros returned her necklace to its rightful place. She turned back to him. "I can't believe you still had it."

"It was the only thing I had after the crash. I promised I would bring it back to."

Ashley gave a teary eyed smiled. "And you did." Ashley's eyes widened in shock. "Oh god."

"What's wrong?" Andros asked, suddenly concerned.

Ashley put a hand to her stomach. "Talon."

Andros took on Ashley's wide eyed expression. "You think we…"

"Set some things in motion?" Ashley nodded. "Yeah I do."

Andros suddenly sobered. "What about Zhane?"

"Not possible." Ashley stated. "We slept in the same bed, but we were never…intimate."

Andros suddenly felt relieved.

Ashley thought for a minute. "Where'd the name Talon come from anyway?"

Andros sighed. "Talon was Zavier and Sondria's first son. He died in a shuttle accident some time ago."

"Oh."

"It's okay." He squeezed the hand that wasn't bandaged.

"On the bright side, this means that we all must get along pretty well if we're naming our son after him."

"That's true." Andros agreed feeling reassured. There was a knock on the waiting room door. Andros telekinetically opened it. He'd forgotten he was holding it closed.

The doctor walked in. "I didn't know those doors locked."

"Maybe it just got stuck." Andros quickly suggested.

Ashley jumped to her feet pulling Andros with her. "Where's Ava?"

A smile spread across the doctor's face. "She's awake." He shook his head. "I still don't understand it, but I guess Karovan medicine acts a lot faster than anything on Earth."

More tears flooded Ashley's eyes. "Ava's okay?"

The doctor nodded. "You can see her now. She's back in her room."

Ashley felt Andros's nervousness and turned to him, grabbing his hands. "Come on." She smiled. "Let me introduce you to your daughter."

(A/N: Yay, they're finally reunited and they get to see Ava! Zhane and Karone are back together! Will Karone say yes? If you don't know the answer to that something's wrong with you. Please review love to hear from you guys!)

(A/N 2: I'm having a little writer's block with 'Not As It Seems,' and as that seems to be a fan favorite my apologizes, I will try to update that as soon as possible.)
