"I don't usually kiss on the first date, Edwards."
With that impish grin, Clare scrunched up a side of her face and cocked her head in Eli's direction. "I know." She took a step closer to him, testing the limits, his boundaries. "But I also know that you make exceptions for me."
Eli swallowed involuntarily at Clare's proximity. He was attracted to Clare in every way, but there was something so different about her tonight. It wasn't bad, in fact, for the first time, he saw her uninhibited, rebellious, free.
And it was addicting.
"I guess..." he trailed off, a smirk gracing his lips as he pulled her hips to his, his wide hands tangling in the ties on the back of her nefariously innocent blue dress.
"You guess? I'm offended. I suppose I'll just have to find some other outlit for my..." She tugged on his tie, pulling his chest so it rushed forward to match how close their legs were. "Needs." Her eyes flicked across his face, reveling in the way his green eyes dilated.
"Is that all I am to you?" he whispered. "An outlet?" She couldn't focus now, he'd adjusted so his face tilted over hers, one hand delicately cradling her cheek in his palm.
She gulped, the rebellious high wearing off, the feeling of flying sinking into her legs and making them feel like jelly.
"I think you know the answer to that."
His eyes surveyed her face one more time, settling on her pink, glossed lips, and then he just couldn't handle it anymore. Leaning forward, he caught her bottom lip in his teeth, grating against the flesh softly, before pulling back to smirk at how she looked- neck jutted out, eyelids fluttering but shut, chest expanding at an almost alarming rate- he loved this.
Opening her eyes, Clare frowned at his expression. Sometimes, you just have to put your boyfriend in his place.
She kissed him then, passionately, firmly with a confidence she didn't know she possessed. His lips were cool and tasted like diet coke, but she didn't care because his hands were pressing so hard against her back, keeping her in place as she helplessly submitted to the kiss that she'd initiated. With a short grunt, Eli's tongue swept past her lips, and she was being kissed in a way that couldn't really possibly be kissing- such a clichéd word couldn't come close to describing this high.
His lips slid off hers after a few moments, trailing to her ear and whispering, in a voice that was somehow both aroused and husky, and delicately tender...
"I always make exceptions for you."
I loved. This. Episode. But sorry, this scene should have happened. IMO.
